Austin hadn't been expecting Aaron to come forward and when it happened, he had little time to react. Aaron would hit him in the head with his superman punch, before Austin was able to detonate the orbs. He still would afterwards, but it would cut him off from attempting the haymaker. Instead launching Knuckles backwards.
The wall of The Underground was what would halt his movement, the bricks cracking and nearly blowing out from behind the behemoth as he made contact with it, before slouching against the wall, breathing heavily. Austin knew his time was running out. He had to make up his mind and figure out which route he would take.
Gah- If.. I stay and f-fight him.. I'm gonna.. Ffff-
Instead of pushing himself to stand, the injured outlaw simply looked upward. The blood surrounding Austin's maimed eye would bubble briefly, before a thick 'vine' of blood would begin rapidly extending from the wound. It would zip upward, slithering like a snake before the end would form something akin to a bird's talon, clamping onto the edge of the roof.
I-I can't b-believe I'm running away.. Like a b-bitch!
Like some kind of macabre grappling hook, the vine would quickly 'reel in', pulling Austin's overgrown body up, swinging him over and into a crouch on top of the roof. At which point, Knuckles would look to bend those legs and let those muscles carry himself toward the other side of the roof.
So long as he could, he would hunch over and release a mighty, guttural roar as he called out to his friend, his hand covering his destroyed eye, a pained and disappointed look on his face as he shouted.
"M-MAACHT!!
