(OOC: Melanie Rose)
It was 10:30AM on the second day after Kazuya had started working at Melanie's flower shop, a good day for testing. Yesterday, Kazuya had spent nearly the entire day training with Tai Long and Eun Han, and now that he had finished his daily morning training, consisting of 500 one thumb push-ups, 500 one leg squats, and a 5 mile run, he was ready to summon Melanie, to train and improve her strength and abilities.
A messenger had been sent to her flower shop early in the morning, since they hadn't had a chance to move all her belongings from her place above the shop to his home yet, since she was moving in with him, with a message for her. This way, Kazuya was sure the message would be received by her without fail. Opening the door and stepping in, once he saw Melanie, he would deliver his message.
"Hikari-san has requested you, Melanie-san, to come to East Village. I will be your guide and lead you to the location. Once you are prepared and ready, let me know. I will be waiting outside."
He would then turn and head back outside, waiting just outside the front of the shop.

Melanie would look up from her Blood splatter Orchids, blink twice, and nod once.
"Alright, I'll be out in a bit. Uhm, feel free to take anything you want from the fridge near the register. Thanks. Oh, and don't touch the carnivorous plants. They do bite back."
Melanie would grant him one more smile before returning to her bouquet. No one had ordered them, she just loved them and wanted a bouquet near the register. They were still this month's special. After placing the bouquet and looking over her clothes, Melanie would make her way outside and lock the door. Turning to the man, she'd nod.
"I'm ready."

Looking over as Melanie looked up and nodded, having taken a quick look around the store from behind the sunglasses he wore, the messenger, Takashi Ichikawa, would deliver his message, bowing his head to Melanie at the thanks and then turned, as he headed out and waited. He had already had some breakfast, so he didn't need to take anything from the fridge. Once Melanie came out, letting him know, he would lead the way, walking at a brisk but reasonable pace. Reaching East Village after a little while, he would head into the heart of the neighborhood, soon reaching Kazuya's home, and would stop in front of the dojo and turn to face Melanie.
"Hikari-san is waiting for you in the field located behind his home. Just follow this path straight past the house, and you will find it. Farewell Melanie-san."
Takashi would then turn and leave, heading back to The Dragon Fang. Meanwhile, with his back facing the back of his house, Kazuya stood in the middle of the field, his eyes closed and his arms casually folded across his chest. His eyes slowly opening, once Melanie had arrived at the field, he would slowly turn around to face her, as a slight smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"... I missed you Melanie. As I promised, I will start training you. There will probably be at least one or two more training sessions after this one, but we'll see how much we get through today."

The guy was really formal. Melanie was taken aback at how he treated her. It was odd. She wasn't used to being treated like that. Maybe he was just... naw. Melanie finished her flowers and followed the guy to Kazzie's house. She half smiled and wondered how to thank him. She ended up ducking her head and giving a half wave.
"Uh... thanks. Uhm... See ya?" Melanie didn't know what to say. He was so formal.
Looking to the field Takashi pointed out, Melanie could make out the muscular frame of her lover and teacher, Kazuya Hikari. Making her way to him, she'd grin huge as he spoke. His voice was like a large glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. Melanie tried to contain her smile to no avail. She was grinning like a fool. She'd walk over to stand before him, about fifteen feet away.
"Thank you, Hikari-Sensei." She'd make an impromptu bow at the waist. As she straightened, Kazzie would see her cheeks flush. She felt so silly doing this. "What will we start with, Sensei?"

A slight smirk replacing the smile on his face seeing grin like a fool before bowing awkwardly to him, he would simply continue to smirk seeing her cheeks flush. Unfolding his arms before cracking his knuckles and rolling his shoulders, Kazuya would then reach up and pull free his katana from the sheath on his back. Having recently sought out a former apprentice of his father's personal smith, Tadashi Murata, who had forged not only armor and weapons, but also the dual katanas his father passed down to him, he had requested the apprentice take his dual katanas, melt both down and reforge him a new, more powerful katana, and the apprentice of the veteran smith delivered.
"You've already proven to me you are capable of defending yourself. However, there are enemies out there who no doubt, possess more powerful Qi than I. Your plant-based abilities are strong, but against fire, they would stand little chance. I will be training you to be able to defend against any fire-based abilities, by using all the fire Qi techniques I have at my disposal against you. We will start with physical fire attacks, then work our way up to fire projectiles, then fire pillars."
Firmly gripping the hilt of his katana in both hands, he would take up a simple stance, before engulfing himself in a flame red flame-like aura, his hair spiking upwards from the sudden burst of power. He would start out slow, but he would not hold back, not even against his own girlfriend, because their enemies would not do the same for her.
"Begin."

((OOC: I am trying out a new style of posting. Bear with me here!)) My smile faltered as Kazzie Sensei told me what we were doing. He wants me to do.... what? No way. I can't do fire! If he looked in my eyes he would see fear as he seemed to glow red. Everything in my head screamed 'DANGER!' I took an automatic step back then stopped in my tracks. My face steeled and my chin lowered slightly. I would make sure that when, not if, i went down, He'd take more than a cut from me. I would show him that there is more to me than plants. My clothes would turn white as hears appeared on my head. A tail would form on my lower back, gently swishing back and forth. I was not about to back down from fire. Last time I only got a light burn. It wasn't going to happen this time. I waited until he'd make a move. Rushing the opponent was always a bad move. Especially when your opponent is stronger than you. 'Begin.'My smile came back as my eyes glowed a bright orange. "Let's go."
Fox Demon Pendant: At the cost of 20 int per post, Melanie's clothes turn stark white along with her hair, giving her the form of a Fox Spirit. In this form she has +8 to all stats. -4 to all stats for every post this item was active. [1/5]

Though the fear was apparent in Melanie's eyes, Kazuya could see the resolve in her eyes as she steeled her face and lowered her chin after automatically taking a step back. She had regained her nerve, that was good. Everyone had fears, but if a person is able to face their fears head-on, despite the odds, that is when they grow stronger. The moment Melanie's hair and clothes turned stark white, pushing off his back foot, Kazuya would take off straight for her, without a single warning or indication. His eyes now a sharp orange from the activation of his Qi, the moment he was in range, he would swing his blade down in a tight vertical slice, a trail of fire forming from the motion.
Regardless of if Melanie blocked or evaded his strike, he would then quickly follow up with a horizontal slice, another trail of fire forming, before releasing the grip his left hand had on his katana and fire a swift fire engulfed jab at Melanie's shoulder, to knock her back if he could.
(OOC: Permanent Consumable used.

Melanie took another step back and steeled her frame for the oncoming attack. Pulling up a blade of grass, she'd turn it into a sword and block the vertical slice. She was not prepared for another horizontal slice. Narrowly avoiding the flamed sword, she fell back on her bum, only to spin around on her knees and scramble to a standing position. Backing up a few paces, hopefully he would track her movements and attack her while she was on the ground, Melanie would Shoot her hand out and cover the ground and Sensei in fire. She needed space. This might work? Fox Demon Pendant: At the cost of 20 int per post, Melanie's clothes turn stark white along with her hair, giving her the form of a Fox Spirit. His vertical slice blocked, and by a blade formed from grass of all things, his horizontal slice just barely missing Melanie, as she fell back on her butt, Kazuya would indeed charge forward after her while she was on the ground, but as she fired a stream of fire at him, his speed would not decrease. Instead, he would continue forward and charge through the fire, his shirt burning away to ashes while his pants were left intact thankfully, though the bottom did get singed slightly. He would then launch the jab for her shoulder just as she scrambled to her feet after spinning on her knees. Regardless of if his jab connected or not, he would pull back... only to take the fight up a slight notch, as the flame red glow surrounding him faded away, immediately replaced by his arms and legs being engulfed in fire.
Gripping his katana in his right hand, he would take off towards Melanie once more, as he would thrust his katana at her, before following up with a flat palm strike for her chest, to not only knock her back, but try and knock the wind out of her.

JESUS! He was still coming at me full speed! The fire had barely stopped him, and by barely, i mean he lost his shirt. I had no time to enjoy the new view. I had to fight back. I had to strike him. I didn't want to, but i had to. As Sensei's jab came, i would fall back a few paces. It was painful, but not as painful as the katana would be if it made contact. He fell back himself after he hit me. His red thing faded and his arms and legs became engulfed in fire. Shit. What do i do now? He brought his katana in for a strike and i batted it away like the first one, however he seemed ready for that. His palm strike hit my chest dead center and knocked me back However, it didn't take my breath away. God, it stung! I hated these fire attacks. I knew i was not out of harm's way, i needed to do something. Quickly changing the molecular level of the now sword into a bat, i swung it at Sensei's ribs. I would try for a hard hit. If he was going all out, shouldn't i as well? Whether or not the bat hit, i'd try to grab his sword with my free hand and use my fox fire. I knew it might cut me, but I needed to try and get it olut of his hands. Maybe i could get it too hot for him to hold? The thrust with his katana batted away by Melanie's grass sword, his flat palm strike however, would connect, knocking her backwards. As much as she hated fire imbued attacks, it was those kind of attacks he wanted to train her against, because the Apostles would more than likely, have powers that were super effective against their respective elements. As she swung the previously grass sword now a bat for his ribs, he would whip his free hand out to catch it, the bat slamming into the palm of his hand, as he would try to light the bat on fire by his fire engulfed hand.
Seeing her try and grab his katana with her free hand, he would yank it back and out of her grab range, having picked up on what she was trying to do. If she wanted to get his katana out of his hands, she would have to try harder than that. Even if she managed to grab hold of it, he was immune to fire and heat itself, so making his katana too hot to hold would've only backfired on her. Shoving her bat off to the side, to try and send her off-balance, he would then follow up with a quick one-two jab to her left shoulder. Whether or not his jabs connected, he would pull back, putting some space between them, as he would hold his katana in front of him with both hands, waiting to see what his student would do next.

As sensei caught my bat, i gritted my teeth. I knew he was more skilled than i was, but it still pissed me off. To make matters worse, he yanked his sword back. Dammit all! He shoved my bat away which more than anything pissed me off. You didn't have to be so rude about it... The bat was pretty singed. And by pretty singed, i mean i could use it as a charcoal smudge stick. I let the stick turn back into a smoking blade of grass right before the hit came at my shoulder. As i hit the ground my clothes would return to normal, my ears and tail would vanish and the fire in my gloves would also vanish. "GODDAMMIT!" I fell back a few steps and fell on my bum... AGAIN! This seemed to be becoming a regular habbit of mine. Although, i did have an ulterior motive for falling. As i scrambled back to my feet, I took a blade of grass in my hand. I didn't show Sensei of course. I waited until I would be able to surprise him with it. When? I didn't really have a clue. I ripped the rose from my waist and transformed it into a whip, cracking it behind me. This was getting old. I took the few steps it took to stand close enough to him to ensnare him with my whip. Taking a deep breath in, i would look him in the eyes and smile. Though my eyes apologized. 'I love you' they said. I snapped my whip at his katana, knowing he could slice through it easily. I aimed for the hilt, hoping i could whip it away. Rose Whip: At the cost of 15 INT per post of use the Rose Whip can be used to do 3/4 Melanie's FULL INT in damage. [66.75 if it connects]

Rude as the shove may be, Kazuya was her teacher, and as her teacher, he wanted to make sure Melanie was ready for all types of attacks and strikes. He wasn't going take it to the extreme, and would hold back a little, but also wasn't going to be nice about it... because the Apostles sure as hell wouldn't show any mercy. With Melanie's clothes and hair returning back to normal as she fell backwards onto her butt, he would watch her carefully, he had a feeling she had something up her sleeve as she quickly scrambled back up to her feet. The rose she ripped from her waist transforming into her signature whip, which she cracked behind her, he would eye her as she stepped towards him, now in range to ensnare him in her whip. Not that he would let her. She wasn't the only one with a trick up her sleeve.
Making eye contact with her as she smiled at him, staring deeply into her eyes, which were apologetic, his own reflecting a simple kind of sadness. He did not want to hurt her... but as her Sensei, he had to prepare her to be able to defend against fire attacks effectively. Her whip snapping for his katana, aiming for the hilt, with both his hands gripping the hilt, the area she could wrap around was very limited. Though he could easily slice through the whip, he would not. Instead, the whip would wrap around his hands, the thorns cutting the back of his hands, leaving a few cuts, causing him to wince slightly, but he had a reason for letting the whip wrap around his hands.
If the whip caught on fire from his flame-engulfed hands, while the wrap connected him to Melanie, he would yank his arms back, aiming to pull her towards him, while simultaneously dashing forward towards her, his left elbow pointed out, aiming it just underneath her arm, to push her to the ground, but this time, he would go down with her. If she ended up on the ground on her back, he would then try and sit on top of her, positioning himself right at her core, to render her legs useless and unable to hit him.

I saw the look in his eyes telling me that he had something too. I wanted to see if waiting was a better idea. It was. As my whip came as his hands, he let it wrap around his hands and it cut him. I saw him wince and tried, unsuccessfully, to not let it bother me. The whip would catch fire and he'd yank it back, pulling me along with it. Well, crap. As his elbow made contact beneath my arm, pain shot over my left side as he had hit the pressure point there. I fell back expecting him to stand over me, his sword pointed at me, alas he did not.
He fell with me, landing himself atop me. He was situated high enough my legs would do me no good. But i still had one more thing i could do... I struggled to free myself unsuccessfully. Looking back up at him, i'd say in a growl while positioning my hands on his right thigh,
"Get off me."
If he didn't move, which i guessed he wouldn't, I'd transform the blade of grass still in my hand into a 6 foot pole, vaulting him off me. I hated to hurt him, but this was my last option now. The rose lay at my side, slightly burned at the edges of the petals. I sat up (Assuming the pole vault worked) and looked at him.
"Do i win?"
I kept the pole in case the fight was not over, If i needed to, i'd climb quickly to a standing position and prepare to keep the fight going. If it was over, i'd lay back in a huff, pulling one hand over my burned chest.
"Dammit..."

"... No."
As his katana was still positioned in front of him, since Kazuya had been gripping it with both hands as he went down with Melanie, not only would he block the 6 foot pole created from the blade of grass held in her hand after she had positioned both her hands on his right thigh, simply by angling his blade to the side slightly, preventing her from vaulting him off, with the sharp edge of the katana facing her, he would slice the pole straight down the middle as it shot towards him. He would then quickly swing his blade to the side, cutting the pole in half horizontally, leaving Melanie holding the other remaining half in her hands. If she thought he could be knocked off so easily, she The rose that was previously her whip laying at her side, the edges slightly burnt, as he would release the grip his left hand had on the hilt, he would then pull his arm back, sending it hurtling down towards Melanie's chest... before halting his fist mere inches away, his flame-engulfed fist burning brightly away.
Climbing off of Melanie, he would pull back from her a bit, putting some distance between them, before placing his blade back in the sheath on his back, as he would take up a simple, loose stance. Facing Melanie as she quickly climbed into a standing position, to be perfectly honest, he had barely scratched the surface of the fire abilities he had in his arsenal. He hadn't even used his most powerful fire attacks against her, and she was already hurt from his simple fire punches. It hurt him to see her injured, but there was simply no way to avoid teaching her without hurting her.
"I am afraid not my student. You were nowhere near winning, to be honest. I will use one more fire ability against you, then we will stop the training for now, and resume training from that point another day. Now then, prepare yourself Melanie."
