"... Very well then. Your conviction is true, so I will train you. It will be intense, it will be grueling... but I am confident you will get through it."
Alex was strong. Kazuya could see he was determined to face the challenges that awaited him head-on. There was no fear evident in his eyes. Never give in, never give up. Failure was a possibility, and Kazuya would not go easy on Alex, but if he could help the young Dragon become stronger both physically and mentally, and fight back against the darkness lurking inside of him, the trials he would put Alex through would be worth the pain.
"We will begin training in two days. That should be more than enough time for you to rest and recover from your injuries. Go to the Pillar Office, I live in the dormitories located in the building. Until then, train as lightly as possible but do not overexert yourself, or your wounds will never heal."

“All right Kazu, as you wish,” I said happily, but then I remembered something. It was something I don’t remember doing. I saw fire coming from out of the ground, engulfing me, or should I say Shadow. Parts of his memories started to flash before me, the fire, the green girl, Kaiser. I couldn’t believe the actions that were flashing in my mind. Does Shadow want forgiveness? That seems illogical. The only reason his memories would be showing itself to my mind would be that it has started. I have started slowly becoming him again. My hand went towards my forehead, trying to calm down the sudden headache that came from the new obtained memories. Letting out a quiet grunt, I stood up, the headache fading away. I looked at Kazuya before I started speaking. “I’m sorry for all that Shadow has done in the past. He almost harmed that green haired girl and your friends with this darkness I have in me. I hope you can forgive me for those past actions since he used my body to commit those crimes.”
With that I started to take my leave, walking towards the monorail station that connected San Francisco and the high school. I was ashamed of what I did back then. Hopefully in 2 days time, I can find a cure for this mess.

"The past is the past, and the future is the future. The road to forgiveness is not easily obtained... But it can be traversed, and will start with me. It will take time to fully forgive Shadow nearly bringing harm upon Shugo and the others using your body to do so... but I can start to forgive. Farewell Dragon-named."
Watching Alex take his leave, heading towards the monorail station connecting the mainland to the island, once he was swallowed up by the darkness of the night, Kazuya would turn towards the ocean, as he would rest his arms on top of the metal guard rail overlooking the beach. He had heard the quiet grunt Alex had let out after his hand had gone to his forehead, most likely a headache of sorts. No matter how grueling and exhaustive the training would be, Kazuya would do all he could to help Alex grow stronger... strong enough to face the darkness inside, and win. Pushing off the railing, he would quickly turn and stride off in the same direction Alex had gone, towards the monorail station, heading back to his dormitory in the Pillar Office.
