The bandaged and cloaked woman found her way to her classroom, unlocking the door and entering the very sanitary room. It would be ungodly clean and smell almost exactly like a hospital. In place of any sort of desks or chairs there would be only cold metal slabs. Upon entering there would be a bunch of sanitary masks, gloves, and aprons for students to put on, as well as safety goggles. The cart that Miranda pushed into the class made two thuds as one of the refrigerated containers fell off, causing her to rush to put it back on.
"Oh dear," her cold raspy voice would say as she continued to push the cart into the class before walking over to the bord.
Writing in what could only be described as the worst chicken scratch in history was her title. Dr. Straight.
After pulling loose most of the bandaging around her hair and face, revealing a healing but still scarred beautiful and youthful face, she washed her hands at the classroom sink with soap and water for a good long amount of time. She hummed happy birthday three times, taking care to get every single surface clean and and put gloves on so that the bandages ends were covered slightly by the gloves as well. She put a mask and took her station at the front of the room by the board, looking more like a student ta than a teacher, especially with her short stature and small frame.
She was excited for this lesson, and very excited to see their reactions to the lesson and all it entailed. At each student entering she would say, "Good morning, please wash your hands with soap and water and stand near one of the tables. Don't touch anything until I instruct you to."
[Go ahead and join! I'd like it if posts between teacher rounds were limited to 2 at the most, but if something warrants immediate reaction just give me a heads up. If your character has a question just assume she has called on you in your post and ask it. I'll be moving this thread every 5 or 6 posts unless it slows down and then I'll move it every 24 hours.]

GET YOUR HALO DIRTY
Yet another class to go to, and this time it was about anatomy. Typically when Vivi thought of anatomy, she thought of how she had studied, it. Instead of learning about it to be a surgeon she simply looked into it to know the best places to strike people. Unfortunately, due to her height, she could usually only reach the vital areas in people's abdomens.
But in THIS class Vivi had a feeling it'd be another crazy teacher, which probably meant this class was gonna feel like more of a 'let's talk about guts' class than an anatomy class. But hey, she knew better than to get all miffed before class even started, maybe this class'd be interesting? It couldn't be as bad as Sex Ed right? That was easily the weirdest class she'd taken so far, what with kids being thrown out the window, strangled with condoms, and attacked with bananas. Yep, that happened, no joke.
Upon entering the class rom she spotted a rather youthful looking woman standing at the head of the class. She almost looked a bit too young to be teaching, but you never knew with the teachers around here.
At the teachers command, Vivi simply nodded and went to do as she was told. Were they gonna direct frogs or something? While she didn't have to much of a problem with that, the worst part was if the thing she was directing was smelly. Nooo, thanks.
Vivi washed her hands thoroughly, dried off, and went to stand next to one of the tables. She leaned forward on it, her indigo hues gazing around the room, but mostly fixed on the door to see who would show up next.

Post by Katsumi Shinomori on Apr 15, 2015 14:33:44 GMT -5
Katsumi was the first to enter the class, and, despite her lack of formal education, she was relieved to have anatomy. Considering her profession and upbringing, the human body was something she knew a great deal about. It would likely be beneficial to take an actual class, and perhaps she would learn something new.
The hooded, disguised rogue slipped inside, nodding a bit nervously at the teacher, before walking quickly to wash her hands. While she typically wore gloves on jobs, many a time she had vigorously scrubbed her hands (most often covered in blood.) Looking back, Katsumi caught sight of Vivi and discreetly waved her over. While her lips did not smile, there was a faint warmth within her otherwise cold (and sometimes melancholic) eyes.
When Vivi would finish with her hands, so would Katsumi, and she would follow after her friend. She couldn't help but glance over at the teacher, finding her peculiar, but she had come across many unstable or psychologically perverse and strange types. While remaining on guard, she wouldn't stare and instead looked to Vivi. She wondered if she had anatomical knowledge, and now had more courage to ask questions, to use her voice, and so Katsumi did, albeit quite softly, "Vivi-san, have you, uh... learned these things before?"

Knowledge of the human body. Among other subjects, Kenji was intimately proficient in the details of biology, and though you'd never guess it by looking at the innocuous easterner, he could exercise his familiarity with anatomy to frightening efficiency. Deciding that it would not only be an easy class for him to pass, but one that might update his already-respectable experience with physiology, Kenji had opted to select this course among the rest on his list of classes.
When he entered and was greeted by a young lady that was equal parts attractive and radiating an aura of instability, Kenji nodded with a smile after looking at her desk for the name and proceeded to return her greeting, "Good morning, Straight-hakase. I'll get right on that." He realized just a little too late that he'd lapsed into honorifics, but hoped that she would interpret the title for what it was - Doctor, in his language - and simply carried on over to a sink to diligently wash his hands. Once they were clean, he picked a table to stand next to, waiting patiently for the class to start.

GET YOUR HALO DIRTY
Vivi hadn't notice her before, but hey look, it was Katsumi! Upon seeing her there, the corner of Vivi's mouth quirked upward in a slight smile. When they came to stand near one of the tables, Vivi pulled Katsumi in to a hug, but quickly let go. It was very uncharacteristic of the girl, as she typically had a 'Don't touch me, bro' policy. It wasn't as bad as when she'd transferred, but then, she had a four foot bubble of personal space and would be extremely pissed at anyone who invaded it.
But whoopdy-doo, now Vivi was invading Kat's personal space! In any case, it was Vivi's way of showing the girl she was happy she was there, and appreciated her company.
"I've learned some basic anatomy," she shrugged, "And I learned some general vital spots way back in 'cause I figured it'd help in a fight. How about yourself?"
Vivi glanced up when Miyamoto walked in, giving him a small wave. She didn't really know the guy, but she'd been running into him in classes a lot lately.

Kyou walked into the classroom, hoping he wasn't late--though he didn't think he was. He washed his hands as he was told and sat down in one of the back seats and sets his books down calmly, hardly giving a glance to the teacher--not to be rude, but because he was engrossed in a book and felt comfortable with the subject of the class. In fact, he had chosen this class as an elective--taking extra courses of cerricular classes because he considered this subject to be enjoyable. When he was young he learned quite a bit about the human body, and he loved learning biology a few years back. He knew that this particular class might bring up feelings and emotions he'd rather not deal with, but he didn't think there would be anything that could trigger PTSD or anything of the sort. After all, he loved this subject! He didn't think there might be any reason for him to worry...

Post by Raina Scylar on Apr 15, 2015 16:31:34 GMT -5
Raina had only been in the school for a short while before the incident with Rose happened and she was forced to return home to help resolve it. To make matters worse, when she returned the AURA initiation and Shugo's Presumed Death occurred, so she lost even more time due to her coma. She was severelybehind in classes but luckily was able to do the required makeup work at home during her recovery and was now permitted back in classes. She was relieved when she saw she had Anatomy, this was a class she was quite skilled in due to her nurse experience. She was trying to stay calm but she could not help but be anxious about the other students. How quickly rumors of "The Demon, Raina" spread through this school due to her ailment. Her eyes were glowing a crystal white due to her anxiousness. She had learned due to certain emotional states she experienced her eyes would glow different colors, hence the reasoning people believe multiple demons have possessed her.
That could not be farther from the truth. She walked through the doorway and headed straight to the sink and washed her hands for the required time to make sure they were sanitary. She was wearing a Sailor Shirt that extended down to her belt and the sailor skirt as well like what is worn in traditional Japanese school uniforms. Even with all the changes in her life she still liked to dress up in Cosplay clothing from time to time. She could hear the whispers and gasps as some of the more unknown and complacent students realized who she was. "The Demon". Some even got up and left the class refusing to take a class with her. She sighed and her eyes shifted to a glowing Aqua Blue from the sadness this brought forth. She walked to a seat near a slab with no one already sitting at it. She didn't want to cause any issues, but yet she always seems to anymore.

--- The human anatomy was something the young brunette took some pride in studying for various reasons. None that needed to be discussed in detail. But the knowledge served its purposes nonetheless. Considering what this class was and seriously she was wondering why this magically popped up on her schedule just like band class, she decided to make a small change in attire at her locker first. She left her infamous white fedora, white blazer and knuckle gloves in her locker before proceeding to class with just crimson red shirt and dark denims. Her thick locs were tied back in a high loose bun as she strolled into the class. Gray hues hovered around a little, taking in a good overview of the teacher especially.
~Oh I can see how this is going to go already~
--- Cereza mused silently to herself noting the other girls and boys in the class. A few she might've had another class before with. Honestly she was starting to think her uncle was hacking the system and screwing with her schedule on purpose and not saying anything, but whatever she took it in stride. Hearing Dr. Straight's words she went and cleansed her hands before coming back to the table with the rest. Dr. Straight, yeah ok as if that doesn't obviously assume the opposite. Time would tell. Whelp she was here now so might as well make the best of it. For now she remained silent, listening and watching cautiously. She did notice that pink haired girl from the ball many moons ago now that put a smirk on her face. She hadn't noticed the girl's eyes yet since Cereza focused her attention back on the teacher and the task at hand.

Everyone had seemed to listen to her instructions, a few even spoke to each other. She observed them, noting their bone structures and growing bodies. It intrigued her, trying to guess what variations of genetics brought them forth the way that it had. She was reminded of just how many people truly forgot what they were, how they came to be, just how basic and broken down we could become. Then there were some who did not pay attention and chose to sit in he back of class, where the seats were, not at all by the tables, which had no chairs.
"Young man," She would say to Kyou, "Do you find it particularly strange that there are no chairs by the tables your peers have stood next to? Surely you know how to listen?"
She turned her attention then to a girl with pink hair whose eyes had shifted in color. A strange predicament sure, some eyes could turn gold in the sunlight, some eyes with central heterochromia could even present only a percentage of the time while appearing an entire solid color the rest. Still, she wondered what kind of radiation she had been exposed to and immediately wanted to slice her open. Her thumb and forefinger rubbed together vigorously at the sight of her, itching for her scalpel.
"Six students. That's enough for now. If the boy in the back would be so kind as to join the rest."
She would look around from face to face before starting the class. "Good morning, I trust you all had breakfast? It's the most important meal of the day. I should warn you I am very strict in my grading, and performance grading is something I stress. Should you lose your breakfast, you will lose points. If you should disprespect the equipment in this classroom, I shall disrespect the back of your head. If you should disrespect me, well, let's just say my stitchwork is excellent and I prefer students not talk back by any means."
She grabbed a set of scrub hats and set them on her table, as well as a few boxes of gloves. "Before we begin I must stress that sanitation is key. To prevent infection or the spread of disease with the lab I will be presenting today, I ask that you all wear one of the masks located in the corner of the room, a pair of gloves, and a scrub hat whether or not your hair is long or whether or not you came with your own headgear from home." She gave a small nod to Cereza.
"The proper way to do this is by not touching the outside of the gloves at any point. Understand? You hold just on the inside with one hand, push youd hand through, and once that is done the first glove is free to touch the outside of the second. Do not touch your face, whether it is to pop a zit or to scratch an itch, or to wipe away a smudge of eyeliner. If an eye lash gets in your eye you ask a peer, or colleague as I'd prefer to say in this room, to use a towel or napkin dedicated to your own germs to brush it off for you."
She would step out in front of her desk at this point, "This class' title is a little misleading in the way it will be instructed. We could look at the bone structure, I could teach you forensic anthropology, I could teach you the chemical makeup of our bodies, I could even go into the functions of sex ed though from what I understand that's been taken care of to some extent. I, however, am doing a focus with today's lesson on organ functions in the human body. Yes, we will be talking about organs. No, not sexual ones. You're teenagers, you see enough of those on a daily basis if not in person than on the internet. Now then, I want each of you to tell me an organ in the body that you know the name of, whether or not you know it's function. I want to know what you know. Don't drag on, don't list every single one, I just want one organ, and your must summation of what it does if you know."

John was late, holy crap he was late this shouldn't even be a thing he knew deep down being late was not even close to appropriate...But sure enough the young man was late. Running along the hallway he slid his bag into the classroom and slid through the doors, staying low enough as not to interrupt the teacher as she was- Hot holy crap was she the teacher?
Slipping his bag under the table, He noticed everyone had rather clean hands, his were rather grimy, so he ran the faucet for a moment and washed the dirt off. He prayed to himself that he hadn't missed the huge important parts. If it were any other day he would've been totally prepared, but he needed to catch up on some training and had taken his sweet time getting out.
Leaning to the side, he whispered to the Stranger beside him "What did I miss?" (Cer)

Katsumi hated to talk in class, and mustered her courage, swallowing. Normally she spoke as though she barely spoke English, if at all, but that would be difficult in this class, and so she decided to drop that act. Although her accent would remain heavy and masculine in its sound, going with her male persona. Giving a small cough, she raised her head before speaking, placing a closed-fisted hand over her flattened chest where her heart was, making sure to not touch it, however, "The... the h-heart it, uh... pumps the blood throughout the body through... through blood vessels, circulating it."
Despite being as covered as she was, the disguised rogue traced her finger over where some of her arteries were, finger a breath of an inch from her hoodie. She was intimately familiar with their locations, having sliced open most of them throughout her 'career'. Breathing in deeply, Katsumi forced herself to talk again, hand hovering over where some of her organs were, the stomach, kidney, and lungs, "It, uh, helps keep the other organs going, functioning."
The rogue continued on, voice quiet but loud enough to be heard, and an emptiness, coldness seemed to grow as she went on, as though she lost herself a bit, jobs inevitably coming to mind, "A... brain can be dead but... the body still sustained. Other organs, as well. But the heart... it is essential. Stop the heart, stop the life..."
She trailed off, and Katsumi stared at the table momentarily before blinking and closing her mouth. The girl had spoken too much and felt anxious for having done so, and she instinctively ducked her head down. She would then go to put on the necessary equipment for the class as the others spoke.

At the end of Dr. Straight's novel-length introduction and instructions, effectively serving as her syllabus by that point, Kenji rose to walk over to the appointed corner. As he arrived and sifted through the pile in search of gloves that looked like they'd fit, he overheard Saito, the 'boy' from Sex Ed, detailing the functions of the heart. The easterner was not entirely convinced that he was infact as he seemed for a number of disclosed reasons, one of them being that he'd had experience with traps and reverse traps. It's not like Japan wasn't infamous for them after all, among many other things. Still, he had no reason to bother Saito over it and left her alone, instead taking interest in the way he closed her description of the heart.
By the time it had wrapped up, Kenji had successfully procured a pair of fitting gloves, donning them as instructed without touching the outside. Hearing no one else begin to speak, he picked up a mask by its string in one hand and a scrub hat in the other, starting to head back to his previous spot as he started to talk. "If I may give my organ," he began, offering a belayed and small wave to Vivi in response to earlier one. "I'd like to present the esophagus. Not unique to humans, it's a common organ found in vertebrates. It's a fibromuscular tube through which we pass our food and assisted by, what was the word..."
Kenji paused as he stopped back at the table he'd been at, knitting his fingers together. "Peristaltic contractions? At any rate, during the process of swallowing, part of the esophagus - I can't remember the word for it - automatically leans back to keep anything from slipping into the larnyx. The tube itself slinks beneath both the trachea and the heart, through the diaphragm, and bottoms out in a certain part of the stomach. That's what I know, anyhow." With a small smile, he nodded to Dr. Straight, indicating that he'd finished speaking, and waited attentively for the next speaker.

GET YOUR HALO DIRTY
Vivi tied her hair up and put on the cap, along with the mask and gloves. She probably looked like a freak'n surgeon right now. That was new. When the teacher began to speak, she couldn't help but find her a little freaky. This class was gonna be weird for sure.
Vivi listened to Katsumi and Kenji before speaking up herself.
"Theres the liver. It's functions include glycogen storage, metabolism, detoxification, bile production, decomposition of red blood cells, hormone production... y'know, stuff like that."
...She tended to aim for that specific organ when punching quite a bit. Maybe a little too much, it would make her habits obvious after a while. Hopefully her answer was satisfactory to the teacher.

Post by Kyou Kobayashi on Apr 16, 2015 6:24:19 GMT -5
Kyou's face grew slightly red. Had there been no chairs? He put a book marker in his book before putting it away in his backpack. He stood over to the girl who seemed to mainly be alone, Raina, though he didn't yet know her name. After feeling like such a dunce, he wished to at least surround himself with one other person so as to, hopefully, not stand out with the fact that he had previously been alone beforehand.
He listened to the teacher as she talked, and a familiar uneasiness settled over him. As if her appearance wasn't already unnerving, the way she spoke, how she said things, and the things she said started to bother Kyou. "You'd think she's a criminal with the way she talks about the gloves," He thought to himself. "Paranoid that the police or a private investigator would find clues or fingerprints left by her, and so she's always been so careful as to never leave a trace behind." He shuttered slightly, dismissing the thought from his head but not making any further movements. "No... I'm just being paranoid! RIght? I mean... for her to threaten us like that... That's normal in this school--I shouldn't get all worked up just because she's a doctor and is obsessed with being clean! Anybody who works with physiology or anatomy--or even medicine--should be clean like that. Though the smell of this room reminds me of a hospital or worse--" He shuddered again, biting his bottom lip. "N-now... what'd she say? A human organ and it's function? I know so many, I could even go into special glands and other bodily tissues... I guess I may as well go on with something simple so as to not draw attention to myself."
As he left his thoughts to himself, he noticed that nearly everyone else had spoken, and so, he then said, "The Heart, I guess. To put it in absolutely elementary level of explanation, it pumps blood throughout the body through the four chambers it has."
He went to her desk and took what he was told to before returning to his table and applied them--being extremely careful in the manner that he did so as to not disobey the teacher's direct orders. He didn't like to think himself scared of anything, and his personality showed he was ready to face death and injury without giving a care, but he was paranoid. Very paranoid. His thoughts were already starting to mess with him, and the last things he wanted to do was for his (most likely untrue) suspicions to be a reality.

Zoe was late! She was never late! The girl was practically running down the hall, her face a bright red as she ran. Zoe wasn't fit! She had never been fit! Running all the way to class from her hair appointment had been more than enough to wind the girl, but she didn't want to be late. Still, by the time she found herself in the halls of 552, she knew that the class had probably begun. Gulping, the girl stood outside the door, peering in through the window to notice another boy who was late. He was washing his hands. So they'd be doing that kind of thing today...
Taking in a deep breath, she'd open the door gently, trying to not make any noise so she wouldn't disrupt the class. Zoe would close the door even more gently behind her. She'd put her book bag and violin case down near where some of the others had placed theirs. Sighing, Zoe smiled softly, giving ha bow of of the head towards the teacher once she finished speaking. ”I apologize for running late... um... I'll ask someone for notes on what I missed after class,” she spoke softly, her voice somewhat shaking.
Zoe would turn to go wash her hands, trying to be as silent as possible as she ran the water on a lower pressure. When she finished, the girl would approach the table that had some familiar faces standing around it. They might notice that Zoe's brown hair had been trimmed and dyed blond. It was up in a ponytail while her familiar glasses balanced on her nose. Template by Kuroya of THQ & GS.
