A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Yvette was pulled out of her thoughts by David's voice. She glanced at his face and smiled at his statement. She took the book in her hands looking at the butterfly and gently touching the picture.
"Papilio troilus, it is indeed lovely. The blue is so elegant."
She looked back up at David a child like shine in her eyes when he asked if she had a favorite butterfly. Yvette quickly but carefully turned the pages and then all at once abruptly stopped. She looked at the picture is front of her with a soft expression. She turned the book back toward him never braking her eye contact from the picture.
"Idea malabarica, more commonly known as the Malabar tree-nymph. I find it a little showy, but certainly magnificent."

He thought it was cute when her eyes lit up with excitement at the mere thought of her favorite butterfly. He would wait a moment for the girl to get settled on the page with the butterfly she liked on it, and when she had found the spot he would look it over and study the butterfly. "Ah, yes... I've seen this one before... Well, not in person, but I've seen pictures. I like the white with the black dots... it almost seems... vintage." He'd smile a bit at that part. David was a little odd, at least, he could seem that way. After all, it wasn't often that a male was interested in things like butterflies, much less was capable of the feeling to think of it as being beautiful. He seemed so old-fashioned, but then, everyone was different... He would glance at the girl, taking in the features he hadn't given much time to be attentive to. She was quite pretty, and her name was much more exotic-sounding than his own. Well, regardless...

Yvette smiled up at him giggling somewhat. Vintage as a word referring to the Idea malabarica was certainly new to her, but she didn;t find it bad. She glanced back down at the picture and pulled the book back and closed it gently wrapping it back up in her arms. As she tenderly hugged the book to her chest she felt David's eyes on her. She flushed only a bit but she raised her eyes to meet his.
"So David, how did you come to take interest in butterflies? If you don't mind me asking of course."
Her eyes showed interest not many young men could name even one butterfly, but David even had a favorite. She cocked her head to the side slightly while waiting for his reply.

David smiled a bit at her question and answered with, "Oh, I don't mind at all. It's rather simple actually, I spent a lot of time focused on studies and teaching a few children things--homeschooling, in a way. Naturally I studied all kinds of things, animals and insects being one of them. Butterflies are quite common, but I found it interesting how different butterflies lived and migrated in and to different areas. I'd been raised an ignorant child, so when I was given the opportunity to teach others, I discovered a whole world of beautiful and amazing things myself. It was truly a privilege, and needless to say... I wanted to learn as much as I could. I learned about different countries and the like, and learning about different places of the world, you are likely to learn about different cultures and the inhabitants of those places--butterflies being one of them." He gave a soft smile to the girl and then asked, "What about you? I could ramble on all day, but how did you come to like butterflies?" He assumed it was because she was drawn to them for their beauty, and then became interested and couldn't keep herself away--having to learn more. Of course, he could have been wrong, but it wouldn't have surprised him if it were the case.

Yvette took in every word he said listening attentively her eyes never leaving his face. She admired his desire to learn and she smiled to a degree her mind wondering when she herself had such a desire. Nostalgia was welling up in her eyes when he asked her how she came to like butterflies. She chuckled and a sheepish grin crawled onto her face.
"Actually I happened upon a book about butterflies. It's seems kind of backwards doesn't it. You usually get a book about something you're already interested in. I lived in the public library back home, I was there whenever I had a spare moment. I loved immersing myself into a book. I went to a completely different place whenever I did. I was trying to make my way through every single book in the library. Thinking back now it seems almost childish. Ever since I read that first book I wanted to know more about the Morphidae family. It piqued my interest because there was only three members mentioned in the book and they almost all had a 14 centimeter wingspan."

David nodded at what she said. "I see... I truly do understand. Books are...truly a blessing from above, is you ask me. They have the power to make you laugh or cry, to take you anywhere you want to go--existing or non-existing. They can empower you with things you've never known before..." He smiled as he remembered making copies of the Bible during his childhood, how he'd learned so much from it, and due to translating them had even come to learn different languages--such as English. "I don't think I've got it in me to be an author... but truly, I do enjoy reading. You can learn so much, even if it's not academics, you know?" He gave a smile. "It's pretty neat that you found interest in butterflies from just picking up a book. Pretty neat how that sort of thing works, isn't it?"

Yvette let his words fall upon her ears, and she couldn't agree with them more. Books were the only thing she had for such a long time. No matter how 'rough' her day had been at home all she needed to do was escape to the library and be whisked away by a book. Remembering this she hugged her book closer wrapping herself up in the comfort of having it in her arms. Again David's words redirected her attention towards him and she nodded at his words when it came to learning from books. However she couldn't help herself from giving a small laugh when he stated that how she gained her interest about butterflies was pretty neat.
"Neat is certainly one way to put it. I almost think of it as eluding a step in taking an interest in something. I feel like I have cheating all the butterflies that fluttered by my windows and along the flowers on my way to school back home. Though that may just be my weird way of thinking."

David shrugged and said, "Well, there's nothing too wrong with that." A thought crossed his mind, and it was something he'd always felt, so he said, "In fact, it's still pretty interesting. Not at all cheating, if you ask me. Sometimes discovery is by picking up a mystery and following it until new things are revealed. Taking an interest in something doesn't mean you have to be interested in them right away. Why be interested in something if you don't think it has anything interesting about it? But when you're presented with a lot of information about this thing you were completely oblivious to, you're discovering it and becoming fascinated with everything of the subject. I find picking up a book and learning something before getting severely interested in something to be just as admirable as finding beauty in little things of life and wanting to learn and study more..." He paused a moment, tapping his cheek. "If that makes any sense... It sounded better in my head," he'd shrug. "But, whatever..."

Yvette listened to David speak emotion tightening her throat. He was here reassuring her that they way she came about her interests was admirable. She never knew someone could think this way first of all, and to add that he was being so nice. To go further it seemed like he wasn't even straining himself to do so. Her eyes squinted slightly in a smile as she looked at him. She took a deep breath to calm the emotion that was crawling up and poking behind her eyes. She followed the movement of his finger as he tapped his cheek. She spoke somewhat slower while answering not wanting to brake out in moved tears.
"It makes sense don't worry. I understood what you meant."

"Oh, that's good," David said with a smile. He knew that sometimes he could ramble on about things, but he knew he wasn't the only person in the world to do so. Many people often talked in great lengths of things they enjoyed or were passionate about... or if they were rambling because they couldn't find the right words. He noticed how the girl was almost brought to tears as she spoke, and she tried to say her words without her voice cracking from emotion, but there was no hiding it from David. He'd seen it too many times, and almost instantly he thought of his little sister who often a time would come to him, trying to be strong but failing at fighting back the tears. "Please don't cry," he said, holding back despite how badly he wanted to hug her to comfort her from whatever was making her so emotional. He didn't think it'd be appropriate for a stranger as himself to hug a lady, even though he only had good intentions. Instead he would take out a handkerchief and hand it to her, "If you need to cry, it's alright to get it out of your system, but there's nothing to be sad about, yes?"

Yvette went to war with the tears that threatened to spill. She reminded herself that now was not the time to be emotional. She took another shaky breath and clutched her book tighter, if that was even possible. It had been quite sometime since she was treated with such kindness by a stranger or even a person she was close too for that matter. She needed to stay put together that's what she had decided when David spoke. With his three word phrase she averted her eyes and look to the ground. She knew she had failed a few tears spilled over and leaked out of the corner of her eye. She desperately tried to hide her face as he continued speaking embarrassed she was seen through so easily.
"I am so sorry for showing you such an indecent face. I can assure you however that I am not sad in the slightest."
She gently took the handkerchief that was handed to her and quickly rid her face of the tears that she let slip through her defenses. After doing so she shook her head lightly and looked back up at David a small and sweet smile playing on her lips.

"Well, that's good..." He said, glad that at least she wasn't crying from sorrow. "And it's fine, you don't have to apologize. My little sister used to cry all the time, I'm pretty used to the face, and I can assure you I've seen worse things before." He'd give a genuine smile to her. Not that his previous smiles had been fake, but this one was still genuine nonetheless. When she was done with the handkerchief he'd take it back and then ask, "So, where were you headed? You probably had some plans before I'd run off and whisked you away, I presume? If you were going somewhere I suppose I could walk you there, as a sort of compensation for stalling you so."

Yvette couldn't help but have her own smile widen when when she saw his smile. However his words about his sister crying all the time hung in the back of her mind sparking slight interest. She inwardly reminded herself that it was not her place to pry into his life. She let the handkerchief leave her hand and cocked her head to the side when David went on to ask where she was heading. She had to think for a moment before responding.
"I was heading to a coffee shop, as a little pick me up after school and then I was going to go return the book. I know that when I finish my coffee I will most likely be done with the book"
She laughed a little knowing she would only finish the book because she would end up loosing track of time. Probably end staying at the shop forgetting about her coffee because she lost herself in the book. She shook her head to David beginning to respond again.
"You don't have to walk me anywhere you probably have places to go too. The conversation you shared with me was lovely enough!"

"Oh, really?" David asked. "You wouldn't mind if I went with you, would you? I mean..." He looked away slightly. "I don't really have anywhere to be today. I've got a shift I'll have to head off to later, but it'll be in a few hours or so. But of course, if you want to be left with your books, I wouldn't mind giving you some space and silence. I'd have to agree that I rather enjoyed this time with you, but I'm sure we'd meet again anyway, correct?" He'd send a little wink her way and grin, "Well, it's entirely up to you, m'dear."

Yvette smiled as he asked if she wouldn't min his company. Then her eyes widened a bit as his eyes wondered away a bit, this was the first time he'd done that. A touch of pink appeared on the tips of her ears as he went onto convince her that he didn't have anything to do and and when he said that he had enjoyed his time with her. However what she was met with next set her cheeks a flame. Even the bridge of her nose was a rosy pink. Did he just wink at her? Yvette let her eyes drop to the sidewalk somewhat flustered no one had winked at her before. Her voice may have been a tad higher when she responded.
"I wouldn't mind your company, if you you want to come along."
