A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Standing in front of one of the bookshelves in the library, one hand in the pocket of the blue slacks of his school uniform, his short sleeved dress shirt loose on him, after heading into the library and walking to the far end to find some books and information to read, Kazuya had walked down the aisle and stopped in front of the section containing books on ancient Japan, specifically the Sengoku period.
His eyes scanning the rows from top to bottom, he pulled a book off the top shelf and opened it, as he began to skim through it, the sound of pages flipping barely breaking the serene silence in the library. Putting the book back on the bookshelf, he would grab another one from the top shelf and start to open it to look through it as well.

Yvette sat with her back to the end of the bookshelf, and her knees pulled to her chest. Her brown eyes glided over the printed words of the book she held out in front of her face. Pressing her reading glasses back into place she lifted her head and glanced about her. At first she almost seemed to be hiding. She was actually only hanging out in the nonfiction section because people rarely came by. Despite her best efforts to avoid people, the rustle pages confirmed there was another person nearby. Turning her body she peeked around the corner of the bookshelf to see a rather tall young man with black hair.

After finding a book on the Sengoku period, he would begin flipping through it, finding and stopping at a section on Yukimura Genjirou Sanada. Just as he began to read through it though, he would notice the slightest bit of movement from the corner of his peripheral vision, and looking up and over, would see a girl with brown hair and reading glasses on peeking around the corner of the end of the bookshelf. Giving her a slight smile, he would return to the section on Yukimura.
"... What're you reading?"
A voice would speak up quietly, if the girl looked over, she would see Kazuya standing beside her, on the opposite side of the bookshelf he had been standing in front of, a reasonable distance between the both of them, his book in his hand. No he didn't teleport, he had just walked down the aisle to the other side of the bookcase, looking for more books.

Yvette made eye contact with the young man and dunked back behind the shelf. She figured if she just minded her own business he would go about his merry way. Reaching up and tucking a strand of lose hair behind her ear she went to tun the page of her book. Midway through the action however she heard a quiet voice. Jumping somewhat she turned to the young man she had seen just before. She looked over to where he was standing previously somewhat confused, but shaking her head a little she glanced back to the young man. She closed her book after noting the page number and showed him the cover. Her voice was soft and hushed as she replied cocking her head to the side while looking at the person before her.
"It's 'Tales of Old Japan: Folklore, Fairy Tales, Ghost Stories and Legends of the Samurai' by A. B. Mitford."

Having to strain his hearing to catch to what the girl said, as her voice was soft and hushed, Kazuya would just barely manage to catch what she said, giving her a slight nod of his head. He remembered reading that book back in his first year of high school, as part of their required reading in his English class. Continuing to maintain a respectable distance between himself and the girl, he would crouch down so he was eye level with her, so she didn't have to keep looking up at him.
"... I remember reading that book in my first year of high school. My favorite stories were The Forty-Seven ronins and The Tongue-cut Sparrow. What're yours? ... Oh... right... I'm Kazuya Hikari, what's your name?"

Yvette watched the young man crouch to her eye level and tilted her head to the side again. She was genuinely confused on why he was talking to her, but she wasn't going to voice that.Taking her glasses she slid them up to the top of her head. With her glasses now out of the way she blinked a couple times and got a better look at the young man now that he was down at her level. Pulling the book back and hugging it to her chest she answered her voice slightly clearer this time.
"I'm quite fond of The Crackling Mountain as well as The Elves and The Envious Neighbor. Also my name is Yvette Regis, nice to meet you Kazuya."

Giving Yvette a small, informal bow of his head, he would give her face a once over, since she had slid her reading glasses up to the top of her head. She was quite pretty, but unlike most guys, Kazuya wasn't really interested. Then again, Kazuya had only really liked three girls in the past, and the first two relationships didn't work out, while the third one, he honestly didn't know if it was over and done with or not.
"... It is an honor to meet you Yvette. May I ask why you are sitting on the floor and reading? Wouldn't sitting at a table by yourself be a bit more comfortable? ... I apologize if I am asking too many questions..."

Yvette mulled over his words for a second and couldn't get passed one. Honor? He had just said that right? An honor to meet her? Her confused state seemed to be just a steady thing at this point. Squeezing a little tighter to her chest she gave a little sigh directed towards herself and then lowered her knees to she wasn't in a small little ball. She replied to him her words were gentle when she spoke.
"An honor? You have just meet me, you hold me too high. I am actually sitting on the floor because it's easier to avoid people down here, and I find it just as comfortable as sitting at one of the tables. You don't have to apologize, they are reasonable questions."

A slight smile tugging at the corners of Kazuya's mouth, though he could tell Yvette loved books, it didn't sound like she knew a lot about the Japanese etiquette. Growing up, Kazuya was taught to be respectful to others, most especially his superiors, and while Yvette was definitely not a superior, he still treated everyone he met with respect and honor. So when he said it was an honor to meet her, he meant it more as it was good to meet her.
"... But it is an honor. I consider every new person I meet, to be an honor. It is not a case of holding you in high regard, I am just pleased to meet you."
Taking a seat down on the floor near Yvette, sitting cross-legged, he could understand her reasoning. When he first began high school, he kept to himself mostly, and wasn't much for social interaction. He had been the very definition of a lone wolf, and still was, to a degree. He had some friends, but wasn't one to go actively build bonds.
"... You seem to enjoy books quite a lot. You'd probably like the library of books in my bedroom..."

Yvette scrunched her nose a little while looking at Kazuya. She seemed a bit skeptical of his outlook on meeting people, but she sighed softly thinking there was nothing to be done about it. Her brown eye followed his movements as he sat next to her. She stiffened for moment and groaned inwardly. However she wanted to be kind, because he had given her no reason to be rude. Then hearing him speak of his library in his bedroom she was taken a back but quickly composed herself. Giving a small smile she tried to think of an appropriate answer for what he had just said.
"Um, I do like book, very much. However I try and keep to the books in my own bedroom, if I even end up reading in a bedroom."

It honestly didn't matter to Kazuya if Yvette believed his outlook on meeting people or not. Politeness was incredibly important in Japanese etiquette, and while most Japanese were not extremely polite, in Kazuya's case, he followed the code of Bushido, and honor was extremely important to him. Live with honor, die with honor, for without it, you are nothing. Seeing Yvette stiffen for a moment, though it had been only for a split second, and a very subtle movement, Kazuya had caught it nonetheless, and as such, would shuffle back a bit, making it seem like he was simply adjusting his position, to give Yvette a bit more room.
He didn't want to make her uncomfortable, if he could help it. Seeing the small smile on her face, either he had hit the nail on the head, or she was just trying to be nice. Either way, books seemed to be a subject he could talk to her about and not cause the situation to go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye.
"... Either you have an entire library in your bedroom, or you've read through all your books at least once."
Though that did give Kazuya an idea for a gift. But he would keep his idea to himself for now, as he had just met Yvette, and he very much doubted she would be thrilled at an almost complete stranger suddenly giving her a gift out of nowhere.
"... Though you'd probably like the library in my father's house back in Japan... It's about the size of a small library and filled with every book imaginable..."

Yvette saw him readjust and quirked her eyebrow but quickly pulled it back down. Kazuya certainly seemed to be an interesting character. While listening to his assumption she wondered if he always started conversation with strangers, then talked about his bedroom and then the other person's bedroom. Pulling her knees up just enough to comfortable rest her elbows on she turned to Kazuya. She spoke while rested her head in her hands with her elbows still on her knees.
"I have many book scattered around my whole house, kitchen and bathroom included. They are all put up on shelves or in baskets, and I have read them all at least once. "
She thought about the interior of her house and finally took note that she probably had more books then she had furniture. Shrugging lightly to her own thoughts her eyes wondered back over to the boy next to her. He was speaking about his father's house, in Japan.
"You're from Japan? If so it's nice to know I'm not the only foreigner."

To answer Yvette's burning question in her mind, no, he didn't. But Kazuya also never had books as a conversation topic, or the person he was talking to love books, so talking about the bookshelf in his bedroom and her bedroom was naturally the first thing that came to his mind. Casually folding his arms across his chest, his own book still held in his hand, and he thought his bookshelf had plenty of books, Yvette' place sounded like there were mountains of books everywhere.
"... That's... a lot of books. Yes, I'm from Tokyo, Japan, I was born and raised there, though I am fairly certain there are quite a few foreigners in the school."
Considering the students that made up the student body, who were mainly delinquents, they all came from different parts of the country and the world. Hell, Kazuya himself was not without a delinquent past, as he had a criminal record of his own, and had been in a prison school twice.
"... Where are you from, if I may ask? Your name sounds like it has French origins..."

Yvette nodded at his statement about her amount of books, it certainly was a lot. However she wasn't satisfied with the amount she had just yet, she need to finish a few series she had, get a few complete collections of a few authors she liked, and she had a list of oddball books she had always wanted. Out of the corner of her eyes she watched him cross his arms. Tapping her cheek with her finger she listened to him speak. Lifted her head of her hands she replied softly.
"Tokyo, hmmm I've always wanted to go there, and if there are anymore foreigners I haven't met them. I am from Colmar, France so you were right about the French origins."

Kazuya straining to catch what she said, though not as intensive as before, he was slightly taken aback she hadn't encountered any other foreigners in the school yet, but not surprised. A majority of the students were more than likely US citizens, seeing as many were delinquents sent here due to a major crime committed on their part, so very few overseas students ended up coming here, and the ones that did, had to have committed more than just, for example, petty thievery.
"... Colmar... I've actually never been to France before, I've always wanted to go there, and before I had to transfer to schools in Alaska and then San Francisco, the farthest I had ever gone internationally was Moscow, Russia. Perhaps one day you'll be able to visit Tokyo. I might go back to Japan for Christmas, if you ever wish to visit Tokyo, just let me know."
