A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Alicia tugged on the ends of her brown gloves, opening and closing her hands to get used to the feeling. She stood outside in the school parking lot against her vehicle. It was pink but had lost its shine, wore down from years of aging. The inside was covered in zebra print seat covers and brown floor mats. The weather today was a lot nicer than usual so before heading back to her dingy apartment, Alicia decide to enjoy the day all by herself, outside.
After a while the cold started to nip at her skin through the black leather jacket she had on over her brown clothing. Hesitantly Alicia opened the door to her car and climbed inside. Instinctively her hand reached for the heater and turned it up as high as possible before turning on the radio already set on her favorite station. Alicia turned and glanced back while reversing her car.
While pulling out Alicia suddenly spotted a figure walking behind her car. "Shit!" She stomped on the breaks, causing the car to jerk forward. The teen hit her head and very angrily stepped out to confront whoever it was. They were walking away with their head down. "Oi! What the hell is your problem just walking around wherever you like?" Her eyebrows were furrowed and pink lips turned into a frown.

Mireli was wrapped up in a myriad of colorful but clearly hand-me-down clothing. A big knit 'jacket' her mother had made, two scarves wrapped around her tiny little neck. Her hands were covered in something a kid in her class had called 'hobo gloves,' that were fingerless and a flip over part if her fingers got too cold. Miri didn't know what a 'hobo' was but if they had gloves as nifty as hers, they must be pretty alright.
She was walking through the parking lot when one of the cars JUMPED OUT AT HER! Miri jumped in return, blue eyes wide as saucers as her tiny life flashed before her eyes. That was almost as scary as the time she was nearly trampled by a grumpy elephant near the Big Tent. She didn't scream or make much of any sound, but she now shook like a leaf.
A girl got out of the car, she was taller than Miri and very pretty...and very angry. She yelled at Miri for walking around wherever she liked. Miri fixed the girl with her round eyes, lips pressed together as she fought for something to say. Her interaction with the boy and girl taught her that these people were very gabby, they didn't often take in the subtle nuances of body language, as they did in her home. Still, it took her a bit longer to respond than the girl might find necessary, just staring at her like a deer in headlights.
"...sorry."

Alicia sighed loudly and dramatically, waiting for the "little girl" to reply. She simply put both hands on her hips and tapped one of her combat boots on the ground impatiently.
"Mmm... Alright cutie~ I'll forgive you." The teen replied before walking over to the girl, bending down to her size, taking a lock of the stranger's black hair between the index and middle finger. Alicia curled her pink lips up while twirling the piece of hair back and forth. "Try not to walk in the middle of parking lots. I don't want that to become a dangerous habit of your's." Alicia stood up to her full height again and let go of the girl's hair. "Now. I guess I'll have to watch over you from now on just so you don't get hurt. After all, that's what friends to for each other, am I right?"
The teen's expression turned from angry to friendly in seconds, an act she'd perfected by now. This was just what she needed. A vulnerable sweet girl to aid her and be by her side whenever she wanted. Alicia was going to protect her of course. Building "trust" was important in the game she was playing. The teen's golden orbs glowed warmly as she held her hand out to the newest victim of her experiment.

Cutie? Regardless of the unfamiliar pet name, the word 'forgive' resonated with the small girl. Though the tall girl had almost hit her with her car, it was confusing to Mireli how that could be her fault, but maybe there was some sort of rule she wasn't aware of. She made a mental note: 'Don't walk in the middle of the parking lots.' Good.
She blinked as the girl twisted a lock of her hair between her fingers, sapphire hues darting to the motion before looking back to the girl. Another blink, another moment of silence as she contemplated her words about friends. Were they friends? She had yet to make any friends here at PHS 552, most of the kids just looked at her strangely or beat her up. Having someone to look out for her and protect her was a good thing, right?
"Right." A small smile broke out on Miri's lips as she looked into the face of her new friend. It was clear she wasn't a big talker, most of her communication coming through in her body language and facial expressions. Her shoulders lowered slightly, indicating that she was letting her guard down a bit (and calming down from almost getting hit by a car).

Alicia put her hand down and nodded. "Good. We can be great friends I know it!" She clapped and glanced back at her car. "Were you heading somewhere? I can park and walk you there myself. I'll make sure it's known you have someone by your side so nobody bothers you ever." Alicia offered to travel with the girl and leave her car at the school. It wouldn't matter, she'd just have to walk back to school to retrieve the vehicle later on.
"I'd offer you a ride but then I might seem like a creep." Alicia giggled and winked at the girl. "Say, what's your name, hun? I'm Seven. With all my talking I only now realized we never exchanged what we're called formally." The teen tilted her head and twirled a piece of her own brown hair, blinking in confusion at the smaller girl. She was very pretty for someone so tiny. Well, she wasn't really tiny, just short for someone in high school. Her clothes... they were odd in Alicia's opinion. Though they do match her perfectly I'll have to offer her a makeover one day. Alicia thought. They were already dubbed as friends, now Alicia would just have to start their relationship off well enough for Mireli to never leave her side.

What a strange circumstance! The girl from the hallway said there wasn't always going to be someone to protect her, yet here was a girl offering to walk her to her destination to make she she was safe. Maybe the first girl was wrong, this girl was pretty and nice, she was her friend! Friends looked out for each other..
"My name...is Mireli." She said, opting for a full sentence instead of the one to two words answers she gave to most people. It gave her the impression that she was shy when really, she just felt awkward and foreign, and preferred observing to chattering. "I'm...going home." She said, now looking slightly (more) awkward. Miri walked or took public transit to Coney Island. Outsiders didn't enter the caravan village, it was just something that didn't happen. "Y-you don''t have to.."

"Mireli? Wow! You're name is so beautiful and unique just like you... I'm jealous!" Alicia gasped and giggled a little, her smile becoming even brighter. She did indeed love the girl's name but continued to act. Her excited and happy expression turned into something of a worried mother. The teen crouched to Mireli's height again and she brushed back a few strands of Mireli's black hair behind her shoulder. "Is it far? Maybe I should give you a ride... Please don't be scared. This is practically my duty. As your friend I want to make sure you're okay at all times."
Alicia patted Mireli's head and put a hand under the girl's chin, lifting it a little so she met Alicia's golden eyes after she stood up again. "Don't you ever think I don't have to do something because you're wrong. I do have to walk you home." The teen twirled a piece of her own dark brown hair while staring directly at Mireli with a determined but still slightly worried expression. She wanted to ensure that Mireli believed she cared. Maybe a part of her did.... Nope. Alicia almost laughed out loud at herself for even thinking that. The girl was old enough to walk herself home and fight well enough to get by. Please. Alicia mentally shook her head and rolled her eyes. She'd been through much, much worse everyday.

"Well..I take the bus, most days." There were a couple days when the buses we late, she missed the bus, or something happened where the bus never came, and Mireli would have to walk herself all the way home. She didn't mind too much, but that often meant that she got home long after the sun set.
"I live on Coney Island." She offered the information, not asking for Seven to drive. Mireli didn't like asking favors or anyone, even though she said they were friends. She did appreciate the kindness that Seven was showing her though, almost like a big sister. Mireli didn't have any siblings, but if she did, she imagined she would be something like the tall dark haired girl.

The teen tapped her chin in thought for a few moments before coming to a conclusion to the problem. "Mmm... I'm driving you. C'mon." Alicia gently patted Mireli's back and pointed towards her car. "Hop in. It won't take long I promise." She smiled at Mireli and walked her over to the passenger door before moving to the driver's side. Alicia would wait until Mireli got into the pink car before getting in herself. The teen gave her no choice to accept or deny.
"Next stop, Coney Island. Say, mind explaining what one does while living at Coney island? I mean, not the most normal home, just wondering about you is all. Don't take it personally and promise I won't judge." Alicia crossed her heart to prove the point before leaning over to buckle Mireli in. "Wouldn't want you getting hurt." She paused in front of the girl's face and ruffled her hair before buckling hersef in. Alicia flipped her hair before starting the car again. "Any music you'd like me to play? I have the radio and plenty of CD's in that compartment there." The teen pointed to the glove compartment in front of Mireli. "I'm sure you'll find something you like."

Mireli obediently followed the girl to her pink car, the same car that almost ran her over minutes ago. It was pink, which was unique. Most of the cars were the same shades of blue, green, tan, black, gray, red...but pink? "Thank you. I like your car." She told the tall girl as she climbed into the passenger seat, making sure her hands and legs were away from the door when it shut. "You're very nice." She said as Seven buckled her in, a small smile on her face. "The rest of the kids here are not as nice as you." She admitted, clutching her bag in her lap as they started to drive. She rifled through the CDs, not recognizing any of the names. "My parents work there. I do too, sometimes." She picked a CD with what looked like a sweet girl on it and handed it to Seven.

"Thanks. Pink is my favorite color." Alicia waved her pointer finger in the air before placing both hands on the wheel. She backed up, searching for any other little girls first, before pulling out of the school parking lot. As she began driving on actual road Mireli handed her a CD. "Britney Spears?" Alicia giggled a little. "Okay. Good choice." With one hand she popped the CD into the player and switched the radio to the correct mode.
"First song is "... Baby One More Time". This one's a classic everyone loves it. I'm sure you will too." Alicia smirked at how well her plan was working. "Well this school is full of a bunch of punks. We're both fairly new I'm sure we'll make it. How did someone like you end up at such an evil school? You're so sweet. You deserve a real school." Alicia attempted to maybe get some more information about Mireli. She needed to know as much as possible and in all honesty was actually interested in learning about the female.

"I don't know who she is." Miri admitted, a slightly sheepish expression on her face. Travelling around a lot, she didn't really stay up to date on the popular culture of mainlanders. As the music started playing though, she faintly recognized the song. It had played a lot quite a few years ago, back when she was really young. She could hear it in cars with their windows down or on the walkmans carried by the kids when they walked through the faire.
"I just started here, because we weren't allowed to be home schooled anymore." She started, trying to think of the best way to explain her situation. "My family, we are all Roma. Travelling with the carnival. The owner recently sold off the rights to another, the man who runs the Coney Island. He said he didn't want.." She paused, trying to remember the term he used, "'trooncy' officers stalking the fairgrounds, so we all had to go to school." She frowned slightly. "Some of the kids aren't nice, but I don't know if the school is evil, really." This was the most she'd spoken all at once, especially to this new girl. But they were friends, right? Friends were okay to talk to, friends could be trusted.

"Mmm that's okay sweetie. You don't have to get embarrassed about anything around me. We're friends, remember?" She noticed how Mireli became slightly flustered at such a small thing. It was adorable but a little pathetic in Alicia's eyes. "Hmm... I guess it's not evil." Alicia bit her bottom lip while thinking about a certain boy who'd been sweet yet somehow managed to get her attention. "There's this one boy, named Naoki, who's way too nice for my liking. I'm his friend and all, you'd probably like him. Though he's smarter than he looks." Alicia shook her head. "Sorry for running my mouth. He's... different for sure."
The teen noted everything Mireli had said before speaking again. "Oh. So your mother and father are there to? Carnival life doesn't seem so bad. Sounds fun, actually, despite the circumstances." Alicia referred to the owner. "Am I wrong?" She zipped past other cars very quickly, yet managed to follow the rules of the speed limit. They'd be at Coney Island shortly if she kept this up.

Naoki, why did that sounds familiar? "Is he the boy with the doves?" She remembered meeting him in the hall and liking him quite a bit. Maybe because he was a magician like her father. Had that been his name? She was meeting so many kids that it was difficult to keep up.
"Yes, my parents work there. My father is a magician, and my mother is a psychic." It was an interesting combination for sure. She learned slight of hand and scrying techniques from them both respectfully, though she was nowhere near their skill. "They were born and raised in the carnival life, as was I." Did that make her weird? Some kids thought so, but Seven was her friend and seemed to be interested in her unusual life. Maybe there was hope for her after all in making real friends here.

Upon Mireli mentioning doves Alicia nodded. "Oh yeah... He's such a freak." She rolled her eyes and turned a corner before answering the girl again. "Hmm... psychic. That's pretty sweet people love that kind of stuff it rules. Getting readings is fun." Alicia pulled into a parking lot and raced someone to a parking lot. The teen rolled down her window and stuck her middle finger out the window before slamming on the brakes and sticking her head out. "Suck it, bitch! Next time try driving a little faster, dumbass, and don't ever mess with number Seven." The woman in the other car gave Alicia a nasty look before driving off. The teen laughed and re-parked the car correctly before stopping and looking at Mireli. "Mind if I walk with you to the place you spoke about? Your home I mean."
