Welcome delinquents to PHS #552. A few reminders, no rough housing, no running in the hallways, no cheating, and no talking back to your teachers. Beyond that, enjoy yourselves. After all these are the years you’ll look back on, and remember, you mother fuckers peaked too early.

A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

He was right. At least dad's safe- but that was only half of what she wished for. The selfish part of her, the one that was wildly dependent and attached to her papa, was desperate for that security that he provided. But in the wake of his absence, even if Jenesis didn't consciously know, she was growing in character, in independence, in confidence, in bravery.
His reasons for roaming around resonated with Jenesis, too. But if she were being honest, rather than giving her hope, it seemed to eat away at it, chipping it slowly with every step she took and every act of violence witnessed. Kindness was scarce these days and people in general don't fare too well with jerks. Which brings up the question-- although yes, Jenesis frequently goes on walks, why does she go on them knowing how she's limited in strength and stamina?
"I do. I've been going on walks for a long time, and even though it's probably smarter to stay in, I can't see myself doing that."
Even though she had a terrible sense of direction.
"Hope? Let me know if you find any."
A sheepish grin. Everyone was looking for a bit of hope. Not that her hope would be the same as his, because everyone's was different, but it was still encouraging when someone else did. Others being happy made her happy.
"We're almost there! You gotta watch out for the booby traps though. Papa and I made up a skip to not trigger any of the alarms."
LOL ................................. wat.

He couldn't help but feel bad for her. Despite the fact they weren't that far apart in age, two years could mean a whole world of difference when it came to how much someone was prepared to live on their own. But to be forced into it suddenly, no one could ever be prepared for that. And even trying to be independent his entire life, solitude wasn't something that Adrian could ever say that he enjoyed.
The walls allowed for a new experience, if one was trying to remain optimistic. A new chance to discover another side of yourself that you never knew existed... that is, if you could survive in the hellhole that New York City had become.
"Mm. Even though it's dangerous out, I don't know if I could spend my days just hiding and waiting for everything to blow over."
He wanted to accelerate the destruction of the walls. With all of the recent events in the city, he didn't have much else to live for besides that.
"I think hope can be found in the smallest moments, even circumstances like meeting someone new."
Knowing at least someone out there wouldn't stab you in the back for your belongings was a pretty comforting feeling. While she didn't seem very tough, he also doubted she had any ulterior motives to having him around. If his guard was let down enough, she could get the jump on him, but he didn't sense any malice from her.
He momentarily stopped in his tracks at her last statement, looking at her puzzled and his mouth slightly agape.
"B-booby traps?"
And a skip to avoid alarms? That was... awfully sophisticated, if not completely random. His technical mind couldn't even begin to wrap around what kind of security system she had in her home.
And... was she inviting him in?

Jenesis, foundationally, is just distrusting of people- the only person to have gained her total and complete trust is papa, and not just because he adopted her. She grew up completely sheltered from the world truly believing that she was a faerie, and that one day she would go 'home'. And as a cruel and unusual experiment, was released to PHS #259-- the bullying started soon after, but the lies started immediately. People she thought were friends straight up lied to her out of pity or fear; and it seemed as if the bullies were right all along, which crushed her.
Then the situation went public, her parents were brought under trial, and Jenesis was placed into the foster care system because her parents were charged on several accounts of child abuse and neglect. Media was all over that shiz- and then the parents who wanted a child to 'fix' started pouring in. Just- disastrous.
So yeah. She was actually tougher than she looked. Or at least, her core was.
"Yeah! It's okay, the skip is easy!! All you have to do is follow my lead, but you can't tell anyone, okay? Not a lot of people know the skip."
To be honest, there were no booby traps (none that he had to worry about, anyway), but it was something her papa and her did because her papa thought it was amusing and cute to see little Jenesis just hopping about. Terrible, I know, but that's Winklewood for ya...
Anyway, she wasn't really thinking that far when she told him about the skips and stuff. If he wanted to come in and followed suit, then I guess she would let him in? But really, she hadn't thought that far yet. And that's Jenesis for ya...
"That's my house right there!!!"
Jenesis pointed to a rather nice looking home- certainly large enough for just the two of them! But it wasn't the home that was impressive- it was the front and back yard that stood out, with little stone steps leading up to the door (courtesy of Jenesis' brilliant idea). But they wouldn't take the cobblesteps, because in her mind, there was a boobytrap under one of them. (Even though common sense would tell her that that wasn't the case, since visitors would use it all the time...)
"Ready for the skip!?!?"

Adrian's story of how he ended up at #552 wasn't nearly as interesting. He had family who went there, and he personally decided to go to the school just to watch over them. He spent his whole life studying, and could've gotten into a far better school, but he put family first. Never in a million years did he ever think things would or could have ended up this way. It pulled him out of his comfort zone, forced him to learn how to fight if he didn't want to die. It changed him, made him stronger. But he wasn't sure if he was better off now or before all of this happened.
He just wanted to live.
"R-right. It's safe with me."
He spoke, trying to process what she had said. Speaking of comfort zones, he wondered if he would really have to skip. Part of him was glad no one else was around but her, as doing silly things made him feel awfully self-conscious. A big shot fighter, one of the Dragons of renown, a known leader of a domestic terrorist group, and the CEO of the new Yuy Corp-turned-Hyperion, and he was easily embarrassed still. He guessed that it meant somewhere at his core, the old him was there.
Adrian looked up when he heard he exclaim about her home, and he couldn't help but be impressed. The house and the yard looked really nice, considering the state of the district. Maybe people didn't have any interest in looting homes just yet, or maybe she still lived in a rather nice neighborhood overall. He was glad that she didn't live in a dump or anything, it meant that she would be safe for the night at the least.
"The... the skip."
He said, looking at her and blinking. So he guessed he really was invited in. It couldn't hurt to humor her, and he figured both of them could do with the company and the change of pace. He was glad he didn't have anywhere else to be for now, but even so, he could feel a slight nervousness building up in him that he tried to push away.
"As ready as I'll ever be, let's do this."
