When Naoki threw the branch, considering he was roughly as strong as he was fast, the branch would move further than he did, in less time. Macht would duck under the branch, being able to easily read the moves as they came, and because he'd already ducked, this would make it sufficiently easy to counter the kick that followed the branch.
With the kick having been aimed at his stomach, it would now pass over his left shoulder, and Macht would kick up off the ground to a standing position, wrapping his left arm around the leg and holding his right out to prepare for any counters. This would mean Naoki's leg would be lifted off the ground, and given the height difference, he would be going pretty high. Given that Naoki was also not going to stop his run, as well, the momentum would only work against the kid here. Pivoting to his left, Macht would use Naoki's own weight and momentum to launch him into a nearby wall.

Damn, the tree was his main source of power, and distance was being taken away from him and that source of power. It was still possible to counter though, the right arm is positioned to counter from the front, so the goal is to aim behind. It was rather risky, but it would avoid Naoki from taking any flight, he looked like a kid, but he was a junior, a common mistake. When a throw had been attempted, Naoki forced all his weight to his left foot, the standing foot, causing both forces to stumbled. Naoki then used that left foot to strike the back of the head in attempt of a Mule kick. A mule kick is an attempt of two kicks, one from behind and one from up front. If a persons leg is caught, they can use their other leg to try to hit them from behind, but considering the position they are in once they kicked once, they kick backwards towards their stomach while they ducked, causing them to take a hit unless they let go of the leg. The mule kick was designed to inflict heavy torso damage while being put at a disadvantage of one leg.
If the Mule Kick hits the back of the head, then the leg can still be held onto if strong enough, but they are knocked forward onto the ground. If the second hit to the torso was struck, they are forced to let go of the leg and fall to the left. Their best chance at minimizing damage is to let go after avoiding the first kick, in which their torso isn't completely exposed and they can somewhat jump out of the way, landing a hit to the hip.

With his right arm out in defense and the left holding onto Naoki's right leg, a counter would be simple. Given that Naoki was never intending on halting his run, a split-second shift in full-body weight would have been impossible. When Naoki went to strike with his left leg, Macht's right palm would shoot out and strike the inner thigh in an area that would make a mean dead-leg. With his counter attempt failing, Macht would swing him, full force, into a nearby wall. Combined with Macht's strength and Naoki's own momentum and weight, he was likely to be in a world of hurt.
Before the kid could recover, Macht would send out a right straight kick with his heel at the boy's mandible as he fell.
