the lion does not need the whole world to fear him, only those nearest to where he roams. ▼ NOTES:* Couldn't have a moment huh. XD TAG(S):* ✞ ascension ✞MUSIC:
| * Regret was a hard thing to shallow for anyone. Regret tugged at the heart many thought they didn't even have. Regret wrapped it's python like grip around a person and squeezed with unimaginable force when least expected. Regret could tear away at the proudest of men and women. Olivia understood it's suffocating grip but what she didn't know was that he was experiencing that same type of feeling or that he ever had. She didn't know that he felt bad for their bad blood before she vanished. In truth she didn't even immediately remember what happened, what they got heated with each other over anyways.
* Honestly how many times had they bumped heads and she opted to stop speaking to him? Too many to count. But normally it would eventually blow over and she would chat it up with him once more. But that chance at any possible make up had been lost. In truth it's not like he had ever said 'sorry' to her or anything, she just opted to let the storm fade away as if it hadn't really existed. Yet here they were. Her initial intent wasn't even a real embrace but just resting however he had embraced her. She didn't let it show but she was taken back a bit by it. She felt something she couldn't really explain. Like he was silently trying to tell her something he just couldn't within words. Maybe his pride or ego was too much in the way. Those things are always so irritating to run up against.
* Separating from him a hint of annoyance started to form within. Was this how their reunion was going to start? Were they really going to kick this off with locking horns like a pair of rams? Olivia looked at him still simmering from the whole event with narrowing eyes. Her words biting as they escaped her lips while she pushed herself off the car frustratingly slipped into the car.
"You're a fucking ass. Forget you then."
* A bit much well maybe. She had tried to make him laugh or something and she just felt a little shunned by his demeanor. Always had to be the super smart ass. Always had to show a hint of supremacy huh. So what the hell was the embrace about then? It was a safe bet she was still a bit testy over everything so all he was doing was contributing to that flame that hadn't completely died out. Let's not forget she's a redhead and they tend to be a bit tempered for some mythical reason. She was so annoyed she hadn't bothered to buckle up as she sat with her arms across her chest and her left leg over her right. The jacket providing some warmth to her damp form minus of course most of her legs which remained uncovered.
* While he entered the car she remained in her position like a upset child to their parent. She only glanced from the side of her eyes to see what he was grabbing for and turned them back away to look out her window. She listened to the hum of the engine. It was nice and clearly supped up. Don't be getting sassy thinking she can't handle things. Ju don't know what she can handle. . Her reasoning for not going home was because of her current state and well she wasn't supposed to be out without some kind of security now. Which annoyed her because she didn't think she needed it. This would only prove to her father that she did need it. Then she would get an earful about sneaking out without informing anyone and a whole slew of other things. She really didn't want to hear it. She didn't want him to be right yet she was in a situation that if it wasn't for Juelz who knows if she would've come out of it. The odds didn't look good without outside interference.
* Olivia had barely been back long enough to be running into so much shit already. Some how some way she just knew her father was going to find out. She didn't know how but she just had a gut feeling, but on the chance she was wrong she rather play it safe and clean up, get some clothes before returning. At least she'd at best just get a scolding for leaving. Parents. She remained defiantly silent as he drove till he found something to break the silence. Honestly maybe she was expecting too much to think he would address her missing and returning. That maybe he'd say he missed her and she'd poke a little fun at him for admitting it. She forgot; almost completely literally; who she was dealing with. Never glancing at him she chose to respond still holding an attitude in her tone. The last bit spoken just under her breath.
"Nice to fucking see you too, jerk."
* Hiss hiss. The claws, the claws. Someone seemed a little ungrateful suddenly. That was odd. Well no not when one is upset but still. Olivia exhaled sharply while she kept her eyes out the window answering him a bit more properly.
"I don't flippin' know. I was minding my business. Walked passed a drop in the open. Fucking dumbasses. Paid it no mind. I might've said something once they spoke to me. Next thing I'm being attacked... Tch whatever." * Olivia shifted a little in the seat with a wince, twisting her body so she was facing a bit to the right. More upper thigh being exposed, essentially showing a bit of her backside not that she cared, again it's like wearing a bikini. The positioning probably didn't see the most ideal for battered ribs but she found some comfort in it. She really did look like a pouting child. This night was turning out so great wasn't it. Fun times fun times. Renewed friendships right. |

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! The potent claws of the lioness tore right through the jugular—the pride was eating good tonight, boys! Decayed and abandoned warehouses passed as the sports-car picked up even more speed, the custom made Run-Flat tires allowing for a stable and smooth ride. But when Olivia made her rather rude and unneeded remarks, Juelz felt that "stress vein" behind his right earlobe throbbing something vicious. He shook his head at the blatant disrespect while reaching for the heater dial and twisting the knob ever so softly. A faint heat blew out of the vehicles ventilation system, so Olivia should find herself warming up soon enough. Spewing more scented mist from his nose, Juelz glanced over at the pouting female before mouthing "fucking annoying" under his breath. These were the moments he loathed. He does a kind gesture, but she always takes what he says to heart. She should know better than anyone he acts the way he acts and says what he says for good reasons. But noooo, she insists on acting like he's just this big ole' douche who lacks empathy— Technically she wouldn't be wrong, but still! Two years and this is how they greet each other? A'ight Den. Juelz missed Olivia more than anyone could ever realize. Showing it in traditional ways would be out the question, however; you never know who is watching; waiting to strike in your biggest moment of weakness. But he did care, his actions and eyes should show it in more ways than one. When she spoke up about Quinn, she answered with more prompt and tact—she better wise up because he isn't one for taking shit especially after risking as much as he did. Truth be told, when Olivia spoke... Half of him kind of found her story "inconsistent" and the other half found it believable to a fault. Quinn's goon's didn't seem all that bright, packing more muscle than commonsense. And if some red-head chick was causing a big a stir as it seemed, of course they'd jump the gun and point that proverbial finger at anyone that fit the bill. Oh, and Olivia's smart-alec remarks probably didn't even help her case one single bit— stupid girl! As far as the inconsistency goes, well... Maybe she wasn't telling the whole story? Maybe she was leaving out important details to avoid further backlash? "I might've said something something once they spoke to me"—okay, whatever that means. Juelz glanced over at the red-head, giving her that "See, that's the kind of shit I'm talking about" look. When she winced, he averted his gaze. He hated to see her hurt, and it was obvious she was feeling the heavy blows from the brute all over again. "I believe you, Olivia. It's over, I'm here now. You won't have to deal with Quinn and his party ever again. I promise."Those words came out sincere as possible given who she is talking to. No real emotion, stoic gaze, but his grip on the wheel tightened to extreme levels. So tight in fact, he'd leave deep fingerprints in the polyurethane of the steering wheel. "But if you disrespect me again. Your ass is walking. Capisce"Three more drags from the vapor pen followed his threat. He'd really make her ass walk, honest to god! ★ Oliviadon't bite the mans head off, gawd! .

the lion does not need the whole world to fear him, only those nearest to where he roams. ▼ | * Maybe she did know better. Yet all the same it was annoying. She too had her moments of cold remarks. Everyone that wasn't some super sensitive goodie two shoes did at some point or another. But how many times had she tried with him and he just had to take the douche route? Too many to count. It was a wonder how they managed to stay such close friends. Maybe because she valued something that she knew she had from him; loyalty. Olivia held loyalty in a high regard and at the end of the day no matter what little spat they got into that was still there. She would do just about anything for him and obviously so he would do for her. But sure she wished he'd lighten up with at least her every now and again. Drop his machismo at least in her presence. Well once in a blue he wasn't so bad like the times she would drag him to go star gazing. Cause why not?
* Her demeanor, her words made her seem ungrateful that was for certain. Unappreciative to the fact he had risked so much for her just a few moments ago. That was far from the case. Olivia was more than grateful for his apparent sacrifice even if she didn't know how great it was. The underworld life came at a cost at almost every turn. Honestly she should've understood the cold demeanor being used to it from her father but within the home he had showed a softer side of him. A caring, loving side. Family meant a lot to him but still he had an empire to run. But to give her the benefit of the doubt she had just deal with some bullshit, so she was still a bit heated. His words and ways were only contributing to the rising heat. Though honestly maybe she was a little more touchy than usual.
* Olivia wasn't hiding anything from him. When she spoke on what happened it was all truth. She didn't speak a word until they rudely addressed her. Sure she could've kept hushed and kept walking but was that really in her nature to not speak up against idiots speaking to her? No it wasn't. Probably why she spoke back to Juelz so much. Now now that wasn't saying he was an idiot, no it's just her slight inability to hold her silver tongue. The lioness can strike with a mean vengeance at times when she wanted. She didn't see his look but heard his words. There was a sincerity behind them sure and he just almost had her right there. Right then and there he almost pulled her in and calmed her down. She was almost actually sorry. But no see naturally he had to bite back. Did she really disrespect him? When and where? Cause there's a whole lot she could've done and said to truly cause disrespect.
* His stress vein wasn't the only one that was throbbing. Olivia's started to kick in as her head ever so slowly turned to finally look at him. Was he serious? Did he just threaten her and thought he was going to get away with it? No no silly Juelz he was cracking open a can of worms with her. There was no way she was not gonna fire back. Shots fired as they say. The night almost had that moment where it could've been turned around, but nope. And luck be it started to rain just then. A low rumble in the sky indicating it was going to be a thunderstorm she hated those most of all but it went ignored within her annoyance towards the man that sat next to her. Yeah it was boiling. Fire was igniting in her cerulean blues and soon enough venom spilled from her lips. Daggers shooting from her gaze.
"Excuse me? I what? Really? You know what fuck you Malik.. I'll fucking walk then.. You don't put fear in my heart with your damn macho attitude. Stop the fucking car and let me walk then."
* Thing about it she was serious too. If she wasn't upset before she was now. And if she was upset before she was bordering punching glass. However she spoke truth when she said she wasn't afraid of him. Whether he ever wanted her to be or not she truly wasn't. Afraid for him at times? That was more plausible than her being fearful of him. If he obliged and stopped the car she wouldn't hesitate to quickly open the door and get out no matter how much it hurt to move with haste and slam the door hard. Probably piss him off more that she slammed the door of his precious baby. Boys and their toys. From there she would proceed to walk with heavy steps in the down pouring rain IF he stopped the car like he said he would. Though if he had not stopped the car and let her out her dagger eyes would stay on him and repeat.
"Stop the car."

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! "You wanna' walk? Tch, do you, Olivia. You got it."The slick tires brought the Lexus to an immediate stop. Once stopped, he awaited for the disrespectful red-head to leave the warmth of the sports-car. He was in no mood nor the proper state of mind to argue with his teenage friend. Dealing with Quinn, the inevitable backlash of what happened today, and the newly unlocked power... It was a ton to take in, even for Juelz, admittedly—homeboy would never admit it, but it showed in subtle ways. With all that, she wanted to throw attitude and snappy remarks because she was mad? Yeah, no— man bye, Felicia. Sure, he can handle the bickering, the teasing, and everything else associated with Olivia. But not at this very moment, not when he was still tending to his metaphorical "battle" wounds. However, to Juelz, she'd never understand the true extent behind today. At the absolute worst, she'd get a simple slap on the wrist from her father and probably have government trained secret-agents as bodyguards dubbing as babysitters. But for Juelz; a young bison challenging an entire hoard of fully grown bulls... Today would result in a string of events he wouldn't be prepared for. Yes, he saved Olivia, but he'd never "snitch" on her per say. Though, if he did, he could save himself from some grief at a later date. But no, he couldn't do that to her—he rather take his lashings as a man than go out like some little bitch. He would have to answer to Quinn, probably do some shit he wouldn't do otherwise. On top of answering to his own hierarchy—the elders are going to be furious. And "speak" to anyone else who wants to get involved. But here she was, fully unaware and giving attitude— Tch, women."Maybe this rain will cool your hotheaded ass down."He'd roar as she slammed the door, which only added fuel to the already blazing frustration and annoyance. The very moment the door "closed", he peeled off in street-racing fashion, the car leaving behind nothing but a roaring engine, burning rubber, and exhaust fumes. Juelz drifted around the corner before burning out down the abandoned straight away and leaving Olivia to stew in her own disrespectful ways. "Stupid ass broad, I swear..."Coming to a slow crawl a few blocks away, the rain poured from the gloomy sky, and hard! Juelz sat there, taking drags and sighing at how things went to shit so fast. The falling rain made it almost impossible to think. It sounded like metal shrapnel was falling from the sky and hitting his car due to how loud it was. He glanced over at the empty passenger seat beside him before turning the heater knob to "off". Was he wrong for complying to her request? It was raining super hard, but she wanted to walk, right? He began to fiddle around with his pinkie-ring as he found himself lost in thought despite the distractions outside. "She used my government..."He glanced at himself in the rear-view. "She knows I hate that shit."Grabbing the clutch, he put the Lexus back into drive and sighed yet again. They may not want to see each other right now, but there was no way in hell he was going to allow her to walk in this damn storm. So, he looped around to where he dropped her off and pulled up beside her, bringing the Lexus to a slow crawl. Raising down those tinted windows, he spoke. "Get in." |

the lion does not need the whole world to fear him, only those nearest to where he roams. ▼ | * Sure enough true to his words he stopped the car and let her scurry out on her own. In the now pouring rain. In nothing but his jacket, her boots and undergarments. Cause you know she totally doesn't potentially look like a hooker right now. Fun times, fun times. Nevertheless that car door slammed viciously as his words fell on death ears. She wasn't the only one that needed some calming down. She was being disrespectful? Really? And he wasn't even just a little? Yeah ok. Olivia often reacted to what was already being given to her which Juelz here should know that better than anyone else.
* As soon as the door slammed shut she never once bothered to look back as he sped off exactly how she expected. Did a part of her expect a little more from him? Sure who doesn't from a close friend. Though all the same she expected no less. This was jut how they were. This was practically the norm for this dynamic duo. What would they be if they didn't bump heads every now and again? Probably less stressed and frustrated honestly. Couldn't they just like hug it out or something? Or maybe if a certain someone apologized another certain someone would maybe very possibly apologize back. Just saying it could be possible.
* That rain came out of nowhere and it pattered on the ground and her with a fury. She tightened her arms around her waist, closing the jacket more not as though it made the greatest of differences. She took a pausing moment wincing at the pain. She really shouldn't have gotten out so fast.
"Insufferable prick."
* Olivia muttered under her breath. They really needed to stop bickering with each other like this. One day someone was gonna truly say something that could potentially break whatever it was they had. She understood more than Juelz realized. For him to ever think she didn't was highly insulting. She might not have had the same responsibilities as he did but that didn't denote a thing. Didn't denote the responsibilities she did have and where she came from. She knew the life well enough. In the heart of this feisty lioness she knew he was going to have to answer to this. Did he really think she would let him answer alone?
* It was her fault yet all the same it wasn't. He didn't have to do what he did but he did. She couldn't and wouldn't let him go down like that. But maybe he didn't understand her side of it. Sure to anyone it would seem like a simple slap on the wrist to her it was bigger than that. Olivia valued her freedom as much as she did loyalty. Having already disappeared for two years. Having just returned and this happening. She wasn't going to get that freedom anymore. She was going to be a caged bird with a song in her heart barely willing to sing it from behind her bars. Suffocating as the walls would eventually come crashing down on her. A prisoner in her own home. Her life turned into one huge cell. She couldn't deal with that. Olivia hated being confined. Hated being dictated over.
* How she loathed the situation she was in right now. It wasn't necessarily the rain that was truly the issue it was the thunder and the lightning that was starting to roll in. Seemed like the storm was going to be a nasty one. Thunderstorms triggered a specific memory even though there was still many more. She could never truly sleep through them. Another low rumble and a flash of lightning caused her to flinch in her angered walk. That familiar hum tickled her ear signaling his natural return. He wasn't gonna truly let her walk of course right? But was she gonna just up and get into the car? Sadly no. The fire of the phoenix was burning brightly enough. The stubbornness hard to just turn off. As he rolled up she didn't stop moving, glancing from her side view briefly.
"No."
* Olivia; Ollie; don't be difficult. She was already soaking wet from head to toe. She tried not to show the signs that she was a bit cold or that her ribs were throbbing more with each heavy step. She just couldn't bring herself to simply get in the car because he said so. And rudely at that. Maybe if he admitted he was wrong cause that would be a new approach. Maybe if he made a more convincing argument as to why she should, but it would probably still need at least the feeling that he really cared. Which he was giving off briefly before he ruined it with his rude and difficult behind.
"You threw it out there didn't you? Just go.. I can get wherever on my own. I don't need you."
* Hmm, something about those last words seemed to come with a sting. Like it even left a bad taste in her mouth to even say. Maybe it was because she didn't mean it. Not that she ever says she needs anyone but she really did value him more than anyone and maybe even himself knew. Despite their bickering she did enjoy his company, his friendship. Something happened two years ago between them and surely those exact words; 'I don't need you'; was thrown out there from her. She couldn't really recall. Was those her last words to him back then? They felt like they were and if so would he let them be the last words again? What if she disappeared again without giving him a chance? Maybe she did need him in some form. Everyone needs someone to protect their sanity. To protect them from themselves. To be that one speck of light in a world full of dark shadows. Even if it's just a strong friendship or maybe something more.

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! "Get. In. The. Fucking. Car. Olivia."The fangs of the lioness would be met with the ivory tusks of the boar. If she insisted on being so stubborn, he'd challenge it with rudeness and overbearing nature. Why? He didn't know why. He didn't know why this one girl made him feel the way he did. One second he'd loath her and the next he'd want to see her again, be with her for hours on end and just do things he simply can't do with others. And the moments such as these are the ones he hated more than anything else in this fucked up world. Not because they are so frequent, but because one of these days something is going to be said neither one of them are truly ready for. The powerful engine purred as the slow crawl continued. Through shaded lenses, Juelz simply watched Olivia as she continued to refuse. With the window rolled down, splashes of dirty raindrops covered the leather seat of the Lexus, however, at the time moment, he wouldn't mind nor would he care. He could tell she was pissed, cold, and in some serious pain. Yet here she was still refusing salvation due to pride and stubbornness—hell, not even sure if one can call it "pride", but lets go with it. But seeing his dear friend in such a situation he "caused" squeezed what little life remained in that mummified heart of his. Black sludge trickled down the muscle as his typical stoic expression morphed into a subtle frown of worry. He may be a hard-ass, very prideful, rude, sexist, and even elitist. But he never had the will-power to watch someone he cared for suffer. "Listen, just get in th--..."The demand vanished from his tone, he was no longer talking at Olivia but to her. But what he "feared" the most took place and ceased him from finishing what it was he was going to say. It was like a broadsword pierced right into that black heart of his, he never felt weight such as this before. Those very words took the teenager back two years ago. A dispute, harsh words, then... Nothing. Was this another repeat? Would he lose her again due to having zero empathy and relying on "she should know how I feel?" He tried in the past, twice; once with Olivia and once with another. Each time ended horribly, one time worse than the other... The slow crawl of the sports-car ceased and Juelz just sat in his seat, glaring into space as the realization of it all began sitting in. "Goddammit!"He departed from his whip and hurried over to the sidewalk, getting in front of the girl and blocking her path. The rain continued to cascade and his suit would sustain more than enough water damage to make it un-cleanable. He took off his shades and looked her deep in blue eyes. "You got me fucked up if you think I'm going to let you walk out on me again, Olivia! You may not need me, but I sure as hell need you. I've always needed you and for you to say what you said, and twice. I've taken my fair share of gunshots and knife wounds. But neither come close to the damage dealt by those words, you inconsiderate bitch."He gave a sarcastic chuckle to compliment the cliche movie scene. "All I've ever done is try to be the man you people deserve while keeping my fucking sanity in tact. Obviously I'm failing and my actions aren't speaking the volumes my words simply can't. Time to accept that fact. I don't blame you for leaving, Olivia, I really don't. But it cut me deep, and I'm so-...Y'know what I'm trying to say, fuck!"He was beginning to get frustrated—it isn't every day a Drug Lord opens up. "Maybe, whatever this friendship is. We should put it to rest, yeah? You deserve so much more and I'm just going to hold you back. So let me take you someplace safe and we can be done with it after that, alright?"Instead of facing the real issue, he runs. He may have the mental mentality and physical capability of a man. But he still has that same boyish heart. ★ Oliviahe just don't know what to do, yo .

Let the fire burn, Let the ashes rise. Till there is nothing left, And you're reborn again. ▼ NOTES:* Daaw those moments. <3 TAG(S):*@00bubbles
| * What a welcome back right? Less than a week she had been back and all she was getting was bullshit. When Dante finally found her she had been staggering out of an alley from a brawl with some guys. Why she had gotten into it with those men could've been any reason. Dante being the protective brother was furious and snapped at the one guy that managed to stumble out himself. He should've stayed in that alley. Dante was unforgiving in his assault. She recalled him slamming the man's head against the concrete wall repeatedly until she got him to stop. Juelz was no different in this case. Dante did it for her though he didn't have to. Juelz did it for her and in the same respect he didn't have to. Wasn't there another way? Did it have to resort in the violence it did that only served as an inevitable domino effect? Maybe not but it was his choice wasn't it? Who was she to remotely complain about it. How dare she complain at all. But that wasn't it. That's not necessarily what it was about.
* She, herself, never understood what it was between them two that kept them coming back for more. How often they had butted heads was uncountable. There was no point in keeping track of it. They happened and eventually they got over it. But it had gotten a bit more hazardous to their friendship didn't it? Lots of time had now passed with such a sour state left behind. How close were they to saying something to burn it all in a great fire? The phoenix was known to rise out of the depths of it's ashes. The phoenix was highly symbolic and associated with the young fiery redhead before him; aside it being her middle name. Life was a constant test and it always seemed to push her hard, yet she continued to rise after every blow. However this right here, if this burned down in the cosmic flames would she be able to ascend beyond it? Would there even be any ashes left behind at all?
* Something kept these two together. Some unknown force that created some kind of invisible bind. Juelz, no Malik, had his qualities to him that surely went unseen to most. She knew there was a different piece of him hidden under the mask he wore for the sake of what he needed to do. Knowing that didn't make things less frustrating. So many times she just wanted to punch him in the face, yet all the same she wanted to spend time with him. Drag him around. Shake him up. Get a real smile or laugh out of him. Generally pull him away from the constant responsibilities she knew he had to face. But she hated her efforts being smeared with his attitude from time to time. God only knew that she understood. But she couldn't help herself. From the family she originally came who kicked her out when she was about seven, eight years old forcing her to live on the streets literally. Russian streets aren't kind. Luck was on her side but so was the will to make it through. She had to get a little sassy, a little hardened but he surpassed her there.
* Olivia's words had created a pause in her chest. It was a phrase that shouldn't have left her lips but they did. It wasn't like she could just rewind time magically and erase it. What was said was said. That was the kicker right there the inability to erase past words and actions. How does one go about fixing things that cut so deeply? To be fair Olivia didn't know how much her words cut and hurt her friend. If she was honest she didn't think she could wound him so deeply with a simple phrase, if truly wound him with words at all. She was about to find out how terribly wrong she was. At some point he had gotten out the car and cut off her path just as lightning flashed, causing a small jolt out of her. She really hated thunderstorms. Stopping dead in her tracks she glanced up to him with a hint of shock as he removed his shades and met her cerulean blues with his golden orbs. This was serious. He removed the thing that shielded his gaze from the world. That hid oh so well the truth his eyes could give off if he let it. The proverbial mask. The beast was angry, no wounded. Wounded animals were at their fiercest during their moments of weakness.
["You got me fucked up if you think I'm going to let you walk out on me again, Olivia!"]
* The world seemed to freeze the moment he roared at her. This was different from the other times. There was going to be some depths not dove into any other times here. Was either prepared?
["You may not need me, but I sure as hell need you. I've always needed you -"]
* Had she heard him correctly? He always needed her? A dagger to the heart pierced deeply at that. She kinda knew he cared, well from what she could remember exactly, but she didn't imagine it went that far. It came as a surprise to her and it showed in her widened eyes. The lightning that flashed again didn't even bother her in the moment. She couldn't focus on it only his words.
["I've taken my fair share of gunshots and knife wounds. But neither come close to the damage dealt by those words, you inconsiderate bitch."]
~Twice? When? Is that what I said that time ago? I can't completely remember.. I've never seen him like this..Have I really hurt him that badly with my words? Really, was that all I had to say for him to react like this? I never intended to hurt him.~
* Despite her thoughts her brows frowned at his beautiful accompanying phrasing, calling her an 'inconsiderate bitch'. Yeah that's a nice add on to everything. He was within his right to think so as she too had some choice words for him. Her blood was boiling again, more or less lightly simmering and she was ready to open her mouth when he chuckled so sarcastically before continuing.
["All I've ever done is try to be the man you people deserve while keeping my fucking sanity in tact. Obviously I'm failing and my actions aren't speaking the volumes my words simply can't. Time to accept that fact."]
* Another dagger to the heart. Keep 'em coming.
~Malik.~
* In her eyes no matter how upset she partially was right now his words had not fallen on deaf ears. She heard him she really did. She was beginning to see this inner struggle surface for her to take a gander at. She was beginning to see how much he was really dealing with. She always had a rough estimation about it because she saw it in Dante and her father. Maybe that's why she so often pushed against Dante and Malik's rough and tough exteriors to find something deeper. Maybe that's why she pushed to have them enjoy the bountiful's of life. Live a little more. She herself could not live the life of a caged bird. Whether it be locked in a house or within herself. She played that role and it was killing her. Cassadine had promised her a home, a family. Though he was honest to say that he could never promise her a life of never wanting something again because there will always be something she would want and that he might not be able to give it. A sense of freedom is something she often sought after and that he provided as much as he could allow considering their world. From Olivia's perspective Malik was barely entitled to that sense of freedom.
["I don't blame you for leaving, Olivia, I really don't. But it cut me deep, and I'm so-...Y'know what I'm trying to say, fuck!"]
~Leaving? Wait, did he think I was gone because of him?~
["Maybe, whatever this friendship is. We should put it to rest, yeah? You deserve so much more and I'm just going to hold you back. So let me take you someplace safe and we can be done with it after that, alright?"]
* And there it was, there was him running away from it all after putting so much out there. He opened up more than she had ever gotten from him. Impressively on her part she managed to stay silent throughout it, instead of cutting in. Had she done so she would've never heard his truth. But why towards the end did he have to push away like it didn't matter again? Like it was so easy. If she listened well he wasn't being cruel at that point however he was looking out for her. He felt she deserved more than what he was giving and that he was just a black hole in her life. That was far from the truth. From all that he said that was the one thing that pissed her off; truly pissed her off. She didn't like anyone dictating to her what was best and not. Those were her choices. Succeed or fail it was her decision. Her path. It rained hard and steady, beating on them without mercy. Her arms had been crossed over her torso tightly holding the jacket close not like it mattered much anymore. But her gripping grew with her own frustration as her words evidently showed.
"You don't get to fucking say that! You don't get to tell me what you are in my life. Fuck you Malik for even attempting to, you insufferable prick. "
* Yup she used his government again. Why? Honestly it was a subconscious thing she did when she wanted to reach him. She wasn't speaking to Juelz right now, she was speaking to Malik. She wanted to speak with the man behind Juelz Santana. It shouldn't be hard to understand that concept. He hurt her back and her eyes showed the pain even if they frowned in a bit of anger. That glint of hurt was there and it wasn't just from her ribs. She wouldn't cry even if her eyes felt that sting, the rain could do the metaphorical tear falls for her or them both.
"Don't you group me with the rest of those leeching assholes.. I never once asked you to be anything for me. Don't you ever try to put that shit on me.. All I ever did was try to make sure you were ok. That you were happy. That you had someone to be a bit more free with. I know what the fuck it's like feeling so locked up it's draining. It's exhausting. You don't have to be that way with me! Fuck!"
* She wanted to punch a wall she really did. Frustratingly she stomped with her right leg, turning on its heel it made it look like she was about to walk or rather storm away. Maybe she was but the pain in her ribs made her wince again adding to her irritation that she turned back around readying to speak when a loud crash of thunder sounded causing her to gasp taking that one quick step into him. He wasn't aware of her fear of thunderstorms mainly because she always paid attention to the weather and got home before it. It was rare she was with him when there was one and she hid it well at those rare times. But right now it did what it did. Olivia's drenched form would be right up against his. Hands gripping tightly against his chest, her head buried into it as well. If he held her he'd find her body shivering mostly due to the rain but partially due to the small scare she just got.
"...I'm sorry.."
* She was more than capable of speaking those words. They didn't happen often but when it did she completely meant it from the heart. What was she sorry for? It wasn't just about her own words but what he had to deal with. Getting out the rain now was a good idea. She was more inclined to do so as well. Besides her body was feeling fatigued. In a soft tone she spoke with a tinge of hope that he understood her and felt the same. That he didn't mean his final words like she didn't mean to say she 'didn't need him' the way she did.
"..Maybe we should go...but....I don't wanna be done with it."

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! "Malik? Heh, dude died a long time ago. He died with Lila, and he ain't coming back unfortunately."So many secrets and untold tales laid buried in the crucified heart of Juelz—stories and names even Olivia wouldn't know due to the crippling pain associated with them. She wanted to speak past Juelz Santana and reach out to Malik Moore, the man she claims to know and have seen? Nah, that Malik was no Moore than an empty husk of promise and heartache. The hotheaded teenager looking to make a name for himself was Juelz Santana with a dash of Malik Moore, an elaborate defense mechanism to hide the very ugly and painful truth. Now he wants nothing to do with the name "Malik Moore"—a weak lad who can't even protect the one person who meant the most to him. Now he was "Juelz Santana"; Kingpin at large with the strength and cunning of a demi-god. But someplace, in the deepest recess of his mummified heart, that same little boy sat in a corner of darkness. Scared, alone, and wishing for the chance to fix it all. But even in the deepest and darkness section of his heart, Olivia managed to give the boy so much needed warmth, heat he hasn't felt in quite some time. But how would Juelz Santana take it...? Malik, she said it again. But it was okay—room in his heart still remained for another arrow of feelings to pierce the leathery and decrepit organ. In the darkness he simply listened, the words meaning more to him than she'll probably ever realize. While on the outside, he stood stoic as ever—the defense mechanism reacting how he'd normal react to such an emotional moment. Still, Juelz felt the urge to hold Olivia. Despite how much he buries away, no matter how much he hates it. Glimmers of Malik Moore would forever show under certain circumstances—this so happens to be one of those circumstances, who would have guessed, right?! The more she spoke, the heavier things got. For the briefest of moments, he started to think she loathed him for caring as much as he did and not being able to open up the way they both desire. Sure it is nice to have a walking talking machine of destruction willing to protect you from all the evils this world has to offer. But wheres the emotional connection? Yeah, it's there—they both see it and even embrace it at times. But it isn't always there due to mountain high walls of insecurity and "fear. It was all so infuriating! Too match the frustration, thunder popped to match his innermost turmoil. But then, Olivia jumped, burying her body into his. Juelz didn't think, he simply reacted. He found his arms wrapping around her for a short moment before he realized what it was he was doing. Showing affection is something he can do, but in small dosage—outright hugging her would probably cause homeboy to malfunction something nasty. "Keep your apologies to someone who deserves them, Olivia."He broke his silence on her apology. Shit, he didn't need it nor did he want it. All he ever did was add fuel to the flames with how he acted and how he said things. If he simply had taken her feelings into consideration, this entire little blowout could have been avoided. Juelz needs to realize not everyone can be a emotionless Druglord like him all the time. Olivia was nothing like him, and after all this time apart, he was now finally starting to remember that. When she opted to get back into the Lexus, he nodded and lead her to the passenger door. Opening it, he'd wait for her to get in before heading towards the drivers side, getting in, and pulling off with his typical need for speed. Driving, Juelz cranked the heat full blast to help the both of them in their chilly situation. "I don't do what I do... Or did because you ask me, Olivia. I do it because I honest to god care for you and about you. Ignoring all the bullshit that went down today, and I can honestly say I have never been this happy to see anyone before."The gleam, he showed it again. He was speaking from that black thing in his chest. It felt so foreign, yet somewhat right. "I really am happy, dead ass. I know I'm doing a fucking horrible job in showing it. But you know how that shit goes. Old habits die hard, right?"Juelz brought the sports-car to a slow crawl before shifting the gears into park while the engine still purred like a kitten. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he'd exhale a much needed sigh, an action he usually does when he needs to recollect his bearings. "So what now? You want me to take you home?" |

Let the fire burn, Let the ashes rise. Till there is nothing left, And you're reborn again. ▼ NOTES:* T_T She's not quite herself it seems. TAG(S):* ✞ ascension ✞
| * Ever so steadily an uneasy feeling was growing in her. Olivia didn't know what to think or how to feel with certainty. She didn't feel know how safe she felt anymore, and by safe she meant in speaking up. Opening her big mouth and spitting out words that probably fell on partially deaf ears. She wasn't a girl that liked to put herself in vulnerable positions. No she was by no means and ice princess but there were times she could play that chilly game. Right now that vulnerable state had cracked itself open and she was possibly starting to regret everything. She was beginning to regret sneaking out the house for starters. That trickled into regret about speaking up to the guys that smart mouthed her. Even that went a step further into her anguish about how easily she was sideswiped and taken out. Had none of that occurred none of this would've happened. She should've just listened and stayed home or left with an escort. But then again if she hadn't, how much longer would it have been for him to find out she was back? How much longer would it have taken for them to meet up again?
* Yet all the same if it wasn't for her would he have gotten into the altercation that he did? Probably not. So at the end of the day she felt the biggest guilt for it all. There it was starting to hit her and hit her hard. The sense of accountability that she needed to be held for washing over her. A huge burden burning on her heart for all her choices led to this. No matter what he could say to her she would end up feeling if she just hadn't, it would never be. They were both stubborn souls but when it came to the matters of her heart or rather feelings no one came close to her intractable nature. Correction maybe he did, but when she closed up she closed up bad. Once a flower fully blossomed became a bud once again.
* Though even as a bud she would be herself to a fault. But the emotions she bestowed as that bloomed flower would fade away. For a long period of time it would be as if they were never said. Like they never existed. She could bury things away when she felt pushed to. Sadly this was starting to feel like a case where she needed to stop. She needed to shut up, let it go, tuck it away. Despite the many times she actually did it all the same it was still so out of character for her. She was often headstrong. A firecracker. An abundance of energy. A spitfire as Dante would often playfully call her. Any time she was quiet and that liveliness was gone from her was like a light blew out in the darkness. Shadows enveloped her being for awhile and dragged her into a world of miserable memories. No one was without their secrets or lost. However his words didn't make it any better and only made her curl inside herself more. Surely he didn't mean for them to sting but with the shortened embrace followed right after by it a dagger of many struck it's mark again. Unknowingly or knowingly.
* There was the silence. The silence that still could echo volumes if one had the capabilities to hear such stillness. She wouldn't cast her eyes over him anymore. She didn't want to look. Hell she didn't even want him to look at her in that state. She wanted to try and fight against falling into that way but right now she just couldn't. Too fresh, too current. Getting back into the car she crossed her arms over torso, pulling her legs tighter and to the right. Her body language was off as she steadied her gaze out her passenger window. She felt the sudden rush of heat, but ignored it. Thunder continued to rumble and at best she held her ground more this time just blinking with a bit when it sounded. Squeezing the fabric of the jacket in response discreetly.
* She listened. It was all she could do. She understood yet all the same it didn't change a thing. He claimed he was really happy to see her; she honestly wasn't 100% sure about it. She half believed him because of the state she was in. Truthfully she was tired of playing the guessing game with people. Her sanity was questionable lately and she could've used some stability. Olivia hadn't spoken about anything from her so called disappearance. Not to her father or mother. Not to Dante and certainly not to Adonis. She didn't know what to say. She didn't even really have answers and now all this was happening. Honestly there were times she got moderately silent on him but never to this degree. This was a whole new ball game. It was like a new player joined the field. The level of exposure she felt she didn't like it. It made her feel more naked than she actually physically was.
* Olivia watched the streams of rain trickle down the sides of her window pane. Long ones, short ones. It looked like the glass was crying. Street lights whizzed by. Everything seemed to empty and dead save for the storm. Odd considering how lively the nights usually were. Considering their location however it shouldn't have been to much of a surprise. While she had listened something within was tugging at her. Who was speaking to her exactly? Malik or Juelz? Seemed like a mixture of sorts but certainly one over the other. In her moment she began contemplating that there really wasn't a Malik and it was just Juelz. That wasn't so bad was it? Maybe she didn't care for his name either one but words and actions always bit harder than they should at times. Did she want to bother reaching out? Did she need to reach out? Was it all on her shoulders? Tonight she was just as lost suddenly within an abyss of the unknown. As the car came to a crawling halt, those blues still remained unwavering from the window as he addressed her. Did she wanna go home? No. Should she go home? Yes. Was it a good idea at this very moment with how she appeared especially? Absolutely not.
~..I'm sure I never asked you to be anything more, but is what it is isn't it..Mal---Juelz..~
"....I don't know, Juelz.. "
* Her tone was soft and maybe possibly distant. The name he probably preferred rolled off lips almost defeated tone, as though she was just done trying. Very odd, very odd indeed from the usual spitfire. The only way to pick up on it however was to purposely read into her tone and words. More likely he would do such a thing. But she honestly really was unsure. She requested not to go home before so certainly he knew the answer right? Or did he want her to leave? If that was the case then she'd just oblige right now. Unless she was purposely being defiant Olivia didn't like to be anywhere she wasn't wanted.
"..I guess you can leave me somewhere if you want and I'll just handle everything.."
~Rather not burden right.~
* Any other day she might've said that out loud and if he really knew her well enough he knew there was something added she didn't speak. He would know there was a lot she wasn't saying. This wasn't the complete version of the girl he once knew. Where was her light? Her energy. Her vibrance. Her sass. Where was that ever rising phoenix? Olivia's left hand would absently uncoil from her torso and reach into the opening at the neck of the jacket and hold the gem of her phoenix necklace, rubbing it with her thumb. That necklace meant a lot to her. It was unique and synonymous with her. The fact it was left behind when she vanished was the clearest sign foul play was most apparent. Alas again she fell wordless waiting for him to make his next move. Speak his next words. What more could happen at this point? |

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! "Leave you someplace dressed like you some damn hooker? I mean I'd pay top-dollar, but, y'know how that shit goes."Juelz replied with a subtle jokester tone in a feeble attempt to cease the ever so apparent emotional tension. But how would it fair—not many women will take being compared to a wet hooker so lightly. Reaching for the glove compartment once again, Juelz lowered the box casing and pulled out another vapor-pen. The pen was installed with a mod to make the vaporized smoke even more smokey than usual. It not only made for cooler and cleaner looking tricks, but it also mellowed the cocaine connoisseur—it kept him from punching gaping holes in walls. Puckering up, he placed the pen between parted lips and sucked. He puffed as his lungs circulated the watermelon scented vapor, some even seeped from the corners of his mouth. Vaporized smoke fell from both nostrils as he eyed the red-head with a somewhat relaxed gaze. It was funny really, the vapor he smoked was nicotine free—always has been, always will be. But whenever he indulged in the smokey substance, he always found himself ten times more relaxed than he was previously—unless he was knocking boots, nothing can compare to the "satisfied" exhaustion associated with such activity. "You can chill at my guest home until you're ready to go home. Just need to make some preparations."Blowing a huff of smoke from the corner of his mouth, Juelz fixated honey orbs on the smartphone encased in a compartment shelling. "Call Makunouchi."(Calling MAKUNOUCHI...)A voice replied as the smart-device began calling the number triggered by the voice command. A few seconds passed and a man of Asian blood answered, his accent and Japanese tongue being a dead giveaway. "Hello? Makunouchi speak." ("Kon'nichiwa? Makunouchi Hanashichū")"I need Downtown cleared, I'll be there in fifteen minutes." ("Watashi wa, watashi wa 15-bu de soko ni iru, dauntaun o kuria suru hitsuyō ga arimasu.")"Ahh, Santana. What for, if I may ask?" ("Ā, Santana. Nani no tame ni, watashi ga motomeru koto ga dekiru baai wa dō narimasu ka?")"Booty call, you know how that shit goes..." ("Senri-hin kōru wa, anata wa sono tawagoto ga iku hōhō o shitte imasu...")"Ha still at it? Very well then. I'll have it clear for your fun time." ("Mada sore de HA? Hijō ni yoku shite. Watashi wa anata no tanoshī jikan no tame ni sore o meikaku ni shite imasu.")"Thank you. Afterwards make yourself ghost. I don't want to see you until I call again." ("Arigatō. Sonogo, jibun no gōsuto ni shimasu. Watashi wa, watashi wa futatabi yobidasu made o ai shitaku arimasen.")The man on the receiving end took the liberty of ending the call as Juelz made the engine of the sports-car roar in such a way any real car enthusiastic would cream their pants. He had no real intentions on sleeping with Olivia, but he needed to lie. Makunouchi may have been his associate, but he was deathly loyal to Olivia's father. He was given to Juelz in good faith and as a mean to keep a much needed tab on the boy. So by her being with him, the short jolly Japanese man would more than likely go and flap his germ infested gums to the last person they both wanted to see right now. Hopefully Olivia caught none of the quick conversation, because, if she did, Juelz probably would sustain a black eye or two. He skidded off, leaving behind nothing but the smell of high powered gasoline and a thick cloud of car exhaust. As he finally merged into cliche NYC traffic, he found it hard to avoid eye contact with his dear friend. He knew what she was thinking, he knew she didn't want to burden him any further than she already has. But it wasn't in his nature to just kick her to the curb and have her figure it all out on her own—no, fuck that. He couldn't help but notice she was fiddling around with that necklace she never parted with. When she vanished, that necklace was the only thing that remained. Truth be told, Juelz wanted to keep it. He wanted to hold it near and dear and to be the first person to give it to her if she was to return. Or that is what he told himself. The truth behind the lie was the fact he was grieving. He is known to carry a memento he never talks about or parts with. The item is a silly thing—a child's necklace with a plastic Pokéball charm. To him the beat up item means more than his empire, so he hides it; tucks it away and pays it very little mind. But when things get too stressful or challenging, he just thinks about the necklace and things turn out for the best. He would have done the same with the phoenix necklace if Olivia never returned. Yet another memento to add to his collection of one. However, unlike the Pokéball charm owner, he knew she'd be back... He prayed every night for her safe return. "I see you've been reunited with your necklace. That's nice."He blurted out unintentionally. "Shit." ★ Oliviaif she don't bring up what happened, he wont .

Let the fire burn, Let the ashes rise. Till there is nothing left, And you're reborn again. ▼ | * His words hadn't fallen on death ears but she couldn't find herself to crack a smile, or even a simple chuckle. Not just yet at least. Beyond how she was currently feeling maybe she just didn't find it the funniest thing. Besides he didn't receive her joking tone earlier so doubtful she was going to take his right now. With the thundering storm outside the car, the rain beating against the exotic car she was just trying to refrain from jumping so much at the noise. Some years had passed and she had a good handle on it thanks to Dante's soft and hard nature on her regarding it. However one thing about it was she wasn't going to able to sleep until it was over - unless something managed to soothe her enough to completely tune it out. The watermelon scent from his vapor he pulled out filled the car as it mixed in with the heat.
* The mixture provided some kind of ambiance. Warmth and a somewhat soothing scent wrapped itself around her. Lavender was usually the chosen scent for calming someone but this seemed to work to. She gaze never left her window despite the flashing lightning forcing her to squint once in a blue. Her mind seemed to so far away. So in the distant that when he spoke about his guest house and made his phone call she didn't even give an approving nod. Japanese was not a language she knew well at all. Minus probably some basics she didn't learn the language well yet, maybe someday now that she was back she would pick up learning it again.
* Whatever he spoke about was none of her business. However had she known he called her a booty call she probably would've gaze him the meanest eye ever even if she knew he was lying. Had she been herself when he roared that engine she would've smiled, made a comment and cheered him on to open that baby up more. There was no secret about how much she loved fast cars an bikes, to the point she had been studying tinkering with them. Given a second chance at life again made her want to dabble in almost anything she could get her hands on - that held her interest of course. So was this like a third chance now? Time had passed by so slowly yet so quickly. Time was hard to gauge when so much was either going on or one couldn't exactly recall some events. Which was the case for Olivia. She had been trying to pretend her memory was well intact but it really wasn't.
* Massaging the gem it provided an ease and comfort of sorts despite it linking to a regret as much as a pleasant thought. Funny how all those years back wasn't as much as a blur as others. She couldn't force the memories for when she did it caused a terrible headache but she wanted to remember what Juelz was referring to before when he said she said the same thing twice to him. Had she once before told him she didn't need him? She kinda recalled they had a blow out with each other but she couldn't put together exactly what it was about or everything that was said. If those were her last words to him before she vanished then what was his last words to her if he said anything at all. And if they were that must've stung him. She didn't think he was easily pierced, cause he wasn't. He stayed behind a veil as much as she did, but she could be a tad bit more open and forward at times.
* Playing back his words when he got out the car and stood before her - yeah she hurt him unknowingly. Did he really mean it when he said he needed her? She wondered why. Did he mean it when he was willing to just throw their friendship away? The words didn't match up altogether but that's what happens in frustration. His words brought her back with a soft 'mm?' from her lips as she looked down at the necklace and back to him. Why did he have to do that? Hold back like he goofed or something. When was he ever gonna learn it was ok to let his hair down with her? The usual her would've said something on that. The here in this moment decided against her. The bruise by the corner of her mouth was more apparent now as she faced him a bit taking a glance over before turning her head forward watching the NYC traffic. Lovely city traffic.
"...Yeah. Dante had it..."
* Olivia let a little silence pass over for a moment before speaking in an even tone again without giving looking to him. Still she fidgeted with the exquisite gem aimlessly.
".. You said I told you I didn't need you twice.. Was that the last thing I ever said to you?"
* She'd take another short pause but not brief enough for him to answer until her next words where she would stop and wait as she referred to her disappearance.
"...What did you hear?.."

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! "...Yeah. Dante had it..."Just hearing those four words made the interior of the cocaine connoisseur burn with the intensity of the sun. Exactly nine days after Olivia's mysterious disappearance, certain members of her inner-circle and family began pointing accusations at any and all parties. Being as close as he was to Olivia once upon a time, the Moore brothers caught the grunt of these accusations. However, when fingers were pointed at Juelz—being the hotheaded jackass he is known to be, he was ready to throw fists and take lives. The final nail into the coffin would be when Dante Cassadine was the one who pointed the initial fingers and accusation. Just having the person he considered a 3 rd brother point so effortlessly, so freely. It was a fatal wound to his pride and more importantly his heart. Despite everything he did to help find Olivia, he was still a prime suspect in the eyes of those who cared the most. It was all so sickening and a younger Juelz found himself with his back against the wall, with nothing but his word and drive. Needless to say, ever since then he has cut all alliances with Dante and only deals with the Cassadine when needed—banquets and events, y'know. Juelz wanted Olivia to return so he can show all those who suspected him he was as innocents as her own family. But as time went on and the resentment in his heart festered into a cesspool of anger and hatred. He honestly stopped caring—the amount of fucks he gave equaling exactly zero. He wanted Olivia to return, but he wanted her to return to know she was still alive and in good health. He no longer wanted to clear his name, for if push came to shove. He valued his own liberty over the family that exiled him when he was hurting such as much as them. So for Dante to be the keeper of the necklace... It wasn't right; Juelz loathed it; he downright hated it. Smoking was no longer helping, so he reached over for the glove-compartment once again and placed the vapor-pen back within it. It was easy for him to contain anger when he didn't want to show it, so he did just that, but at the cost of avoiding all eye contact with the girl in the passenger-seat. Her next string of words however caused him to glance over in her direction with a cocked brow. It wasn't the question that took him by surprise per se, it was the way she worded it—like a part of her pass was missing or something like that. Upon hearing the final words spoken by Olivia, Juelz firmly pressed down on the brake-pad to stop at the flashing red-light. When he did, he couldn't help himself but reach over to Olivia and caress her cheek. "That looks nasty, Olivia."He referred to the bruise around the corner of her mouth as he attempted to adjust her head so he could get a better look at it. "We'll get you looked at soon enough, alright?"Letting go of the cheek, he'd fixate those harden eyes of his back upon the road and answered her question to the best of his ability. He didn't want to jump to any rash conclusions as of yet, but he was still slightly worried— shit, at least she still knew who he was, right?! Winning!"Yes. I found myself in some business I had no right being in at the time. You tried to convince me I was being a fucking idiot, I didn't listen, we had a dispute... Some things were said, then I left. Next day you were nowhere to be found, Olivia. As far as your vanishing act is concerned..."He couldn't tell her how he was number one suspect. He couldn't tell her how he almost ruined the alliance between the Moore and Cassadine. He couldn't tell her anything... Not now, not ever. "You were just gone, y'know? No one would really give me too many details on the actual subject. All I know is I sent many men all around this fucking country to find you, Olivia. Nothing came up, and, y'know, searching slowly died down. But you're here now and that is all that matters. At least to me." |

Let the fire burn, Let the ashes rise. Till there is nothing left, And you're reborn again. ▼ | * If anything was to happen between her family and Juelz there was little doubt that Adonis would've been the one to stir the pot in some degree. Her younger brother was always the impulsive one. It would be doubtful that he would've started something just merely over her disappearance though. More than likely he had used it as an excuse to ignite something that wasn't present. Adonis was definitely a snake in the grass ready to strike when he saw the opportunity to. But even though everyone knew how Adonis could be surprisingly it wasn't often that his words were complete lies. Majority of the time they held some truth but usually people proceeded with caution when it came to his words. If anything had happened it would be because emotions were already on high. If her father or Dante made a choice to believe that Juelz could possibly have anything to do with her disappearance it would've been because they were hurting and Adonis more than likely preyed on that to put them at some kind of odds. However her father was a business man and would not act without any evidence. At best a riff would remain on a personal level, but business was business and best to keep things moving smoothly than create and unnecessary war. As far as Dante was concerned she has been witnessed to his anger when it came to something involving her. His protective nature took over in an explosion most of the time.
* Olivia wasn't informed about anything at least not yet. Honestly she hadn't really asked anyone and Dante and her father as much as they wanted to know things didn't push her either to reveal anything. They gave her time especially seeing that she wasn't completely different. She still had her spark. Her energy of wanting to roam about and do things. It was still too early to poke and prod at her. They didn't want to trigger anything. So unless someone decided to speak up she wasn't going to know. Then again sooner or later she probably was going to ask. Technically she had already started with Juelz. As they came to a red light she suddenly felt him touch her cheek to much to her surprise. It was unexpected in her mind as she couldn't recall getting anything like that from him before. It made her shift her head a little to him which would've caused his hand to brush her lips before he gently had her chin to turn her face a bit more in his view. The touch at her lips though highly unintentional made her tingle a little. When he let go she responded watching him refocus on the road.
"I've had worse."
* She wasn't trying to play the 'I'm a big girl' card. She meant what she said. However the thought would pass as she listened to him explain. As vague as his explanation was it seemed completely believable. It had to be either her or him getting into some shit for she herself was not nearly as innocent when it came to trouble making. This night was an example but it wasn't exactly her fault now was it. The argument had to be extremely heated for her to say what she did. To think it had cut him that deeply still baffled her a little. Funny how the sudden storm outside seemed to die down to just simple light rain it was almost as if it mirrored the pair in the car. A built up explosion simmering down to a fizzle. As she listened she noted how many times he said her name.
* The reasoning for her bothering to pay it any mind was throughout this small amount of time it seemed almost obsessive. It slightly felt as if there was something behind it. Was he trying to make sure if he said her name enough that her presence would become more real than it was? That she really was there beside him and he wasn't just imagining all of this happening? It was possible Olivia had been reading a little too much into it but can't say the idea wasn't an interesting theory. Seemed he refrained from calling her by any nickname like Ollie, or Liv or anything he had personally came up with. The way he said Olivia made the situation all the more serious and real obviously. If he ever looked her way he would've been able to catch a small soft expression on her face as the street lights washed over her now mostly dried skin. Her red locks were still damped and a bit frizzy now considering the way they had been drying. Though the soft expression passed over as her brows frowned a little when she turned back to the road. She didn't hear anything about him and Dante looking for her together which she would've expected to have occurred. Question was did she ask Juelz about it now or did she ask Dante later? Or maybe later she could possibly ask them both at some point. Always two sides of a story. For now leave it be.
"Well hakuna matata right?"
* She would smirk only glancing at him from her peripherals letting the joke shimmy it's way in between them a little. She wasn't being dismissive thinking all he said was nothing. All his words meant something to her. But the mood needed a little lightening up and he kinda needed to let it happen for himself. Stop being so stiff. Lion King references was a thing with them considering when she used to joke around pinning him to the ground or against something she would say 'Pinned ya'. Hopefully she finally got a least a smirk out of him cause by now he should realize she was trying her best. She finally stopped fidgeting with the jewel as she let her hand rest on the armrest of the door. Bare legs uncrossing and shifting a little for comfort.
"You're not hallucinating by the way. I'm here in the flesh and all that jazz."
* She reached her hand and placed it on his hand gently with a smile before giving it a little pinch and retracting.
"See.. still here."
* Cerulean blues gazed back out her window drifting back into a little silence for now. Even though much wasn't verbally said there was still much to take in nonetheless. But it seemed her mood had improved right?

-- you dudes couldn't walk in my shoes ! Her comment— that one fuckin' phrase that posed as a catalyst for their "explosive" bond. If anyone even thought to comment the way she did after the subtle display of affection he is known and characterized in not showing or even having. Snapping bones, blood curdling screams, and apologetic moans would follow soon after. Juelz Santana didn't play that shit—that disrespectful shit. However, between the two of them, the significance in the two word phrase meant everything their dynamic relationship was about. So, needless to say, he found himself chuckling, if only briefly. " Really, Olivia?" A shaking head accompanied the lighthearted retort. " Ain't no worries then." He added with a little grin, still waiting for the flashing red light to turn a solid green. Truth be told, back in the days of yore— when they were wee tykes and lasses. Olivia was one of the few people that had the ability to clam Juelz down when he went on those explosive rampages. She never really had to say much, a bonk on the head followed by a simple "You're being a dick, stop it." Sufficed in almost any situation. Sure, he'd still be heated, but his anger would no longer rest on the situation that mad him so enraged. Instead it fixated on the fact she hit him and called him a name—typical kid stuff, y'know? In hindsight, he owed her much, he may not think it certain days, but deep down he knows it. When she touched his hand, he could have sworn what remained of his soul was on the verge of fleeing his crypt-esque shell. Things were starting to get pretty awkward and he didn't know what to say or do. Too reunite under these circumstances... It was all so surreal and a little overwhelming, even to the man with a destiny to surpass the gods of today. With a mental sigh, she lifted her hand and left it at that. At this point in time, the street lights over head were green and he was now holding up the bumper to bumper traffic. Honking from the irate drivers behind him brought him back to reality. With furrowed brows, he lowered tinted windows and shouted a few obscenities about mothers and heinous acts with animals this narrator rather not go into detail about for obvious reasons. Stomping on the gas, the engine roared and he took off, drifting into an empty side street to avoid the traffic for a few minutes. As he drove, he finally spoke to Olivia—an unknown force pulling the words right from the pits of his corrupted soul. " I'm sorry. For everything that has happened today, Olivia. This shit is going to come back and bite me in the ass and i'm sure you got your own things to worry about no doubt." He paused, realizing he said the word he never wants to say— fuck it. It happened, no use in crying over spilled milk! So he continued. " So I'm going to spend this time with my dear friend, minus the bullshit. Alright?" |
