(OOC: This is serving as Christa's Qi unlock. Dawn) "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Gunfire rang out, and Valo was crawling backwards into cover, just barely in the nick of time for bullets to hit the ground where he just was. Blood seeped from his leg and lower torso, and he was breathing heavily and painfully. Taking a deep breath, he waited for the gunfire to die down a bit before he pointed his handgun over the wall, firing a few rounds off blindly. He was met with more gunfire in response, and he covered his head with his hands as he curled up as the bullets riddled the area around him. "Christa! Christa, come in! Please, just tell me you're okay!" He spoke into the ear piece he wore, but was met with silence. "Christa... fuck, I'm so sorry..." He leaned his head back against the wall, his breathing becoming a bit rougher. "I'm sorry, this wasn't supposed to happen..." Three days earlier...A helicopter without any markings or brands on it was traveling over the ocean. It was large, big enough to be a small vacation home for a small group of people. It was what Valo had built it for, but he had outfitted it with weapons and armor, making the exterior bulletproof and the inside very secure. He and Christa were traveling together, and he set the helicopter to auto-pilot to get to their destination. "A supposed uncharted island. Sounds pretty exciting, doesn't it?" Valo would say to Christa as he looked out of one of the windows on the helicopter, watching the ocean waves beneath them. Since they had met, they had gone on quite a few adventures together. Valo seemed to find himself out of the city a lot more often these days. "I wish we were here for vacation though. You remember the mission, right?" They were looking for an arms group, who had reportedly been hiding in this region. They were a high profile target who had Valo had been keeping tabs on for months, but now it seemed he had triangulated their location to one of the few islands around here. "This will be our first time being in the field together. No more training, this is the real deal. How are you feeling?" He looked over at Christa, a nervous smile on his face. He hoped she was ready. He had no idea what was in store for them.

"Totes exciting Mister." Christa would look out the window and out towards the ocean, she was extremely nervous about this. Not only did it seem like a total bad idea to come out to an uncharted island, but she wasnt exactly feeling normal today either. "Yeah, nab the guy we're after and high-tail it outta there."
Nodding she'd look at Valo, "Yeah, it'll be easy... How many could there be?" Christa would let out a slightly shaky sigh, before replying. "A little uneasy, but other than that... Yeah, i'm fine." She'd decided to keep the details of her not feeling the greatest out of the conversation, knowing his worrysomeness (Is that a word wtf. potato salad)

Valo could tell she was uneasy, and he couldn't blame her. He wouldn't have taken her out on a mission like this normally, especially for her first real one, but having fought her in combat during their training previously, he felt like she could easily hold her own against anything that came their way. She was one of a handful of people he could feel comfortable fighting alongside, and he can only hope that he was starting to mold her into a capable fighter. She had potential, and he could see her surpassing him someday.
There were smarter ways to try and nab a high profile target, but this guy was out of the jurisdiction of any laws or government now, and Valo foresaw it staying this way. He was a huge arms dealer who supplied weapons to New York, and thus, it was their business to put him down. As far as Valo was concerned, they had him right where they wanted him.
"It'll be okay. I've got your back the entire way, I promise." He said, putting a hand on her shoulder and giving a reassuring smile. Both of them couldn't feel scared, or at least, not show it openly. He would step away, bringing out two devices from a nearby shelf, handing one to her. They were in the shape of a typical smartphone, but their purpose was so much more than that. Valo would turn his on, inputing a quick command, and a large hologram of the island would pop up in front of them both from the phone.
"I can't say for certain how many there are, but with smart tactics and patience, we can offset their numbers if we go in, grab the guy, and get out. However, they have the home field advantage since they know the island well... I assume, and we'll be going in nearly blind. We'll be landing... here..."
He pointed to a small area on the east side of the island, a small forest clearing overlooking a beach.
"And the target is assumed to be in a heavily guarded base over in this general area." He would point to a series of buildings on the northwest side of the island on top of the mountains in that area. The rest of the island was covered in forests, rivers, and waterfalls. "I'm sure we could find many places to make camp if needed... but we have to be careful at all times."
The hologram would disappear, and Valo would pocket his device, Christa being able to keep her own. He would look out of the window.
"We're nearly there... time to suit up."

Christa would give a small smile, taking the smartphone looking device from Valo. Sliding it into her pocket. "Forests, my favorite." Taking a look at the hologram that had appeared from the small device, and studying the island quietly as Valo would go over the briefing and what not. Christa would place her respirator onto her face, sliding her hood up. She'd take a deep breath, standing up and grabbing the rest of her gear. Bow. Handgun. A few other weapons and gadgets, placing them in their respectable holders. "Ready to go?"

As Christa readied up, Valo would do the same. He would walk over to a stand, grabbing and putting on his vest, hood, shoulder pads, and visor. Making sure he had his bow, quiver, crossbow, and a few other gadgets that could come in handy, Valo made sure he grabbed whatever he and Christa might need.
"Yeah." He answered her question. "Looks like we're here."
He could feel the helicopter slowing down, and a quick look outside told him they were right above the island. "Take us down." He commanded, and the helicopter would start to descend slowly until it was safely on the ground. Valo would open the door to the helicopter, dropping down onto the grass below and would aim his bow, arrow at the ready, all around them, making sure the coast was clear.
"It's safe. Come on." He said as he lowered his bow, starting to walk into the forest once Christa was out. The moment she left the helicopter, a cloaking device would enable and shield it from anyone's view.

Christa would vault out of the helicopter, landing on the sand below she'd look at Valo as he'd head into the forest. As soon as she would set foot after him, her whole body would shiver. Something about this island just isnt right... Maybe it's me? Hell if I know. Trekking into the forest Christa would see some of the buildings in the distance. "Those are the ones, right Valo?" Taking out her binoculars, she'd zoom in on the village about a mile away. "Uh... Valo, there are a lot more than you said there would be. Getting in and out is gonna be extremely hard."

Using the scope attached to his bow, Valo would look to see what Christa had pointed out. There were easily a dozen patrols at the least, not including what could possibly be inside.
"Damn... we should make our way up from the side of the mountain. Chances are, someone saw the helicopter. So we need to be cautious."
He looked back at her before changing directions to walk east of the mountain instead.
"Christa... are you sure you're okay with this mission?" He stopped suddenly, looking back at her. "I just... If something happens to you... Well... If you want to turn back, just tell me, and we can forget about this whole thing, okay?"

Christa would dodge just as another bullet would fly past her head, "Mother fuckers!" Popping out from the side she'd fire a few shots out toward them. "Valo! Where the hell are you-" A bullet would fly directly into her upper arm as she would pop back into cover, "Gah, s-shit." A final thought would ring through her head as she would passout on the spot. Valo... Please be alright.
A small voice could be heard from Christas wristwatch, 1 day, 5 hours and 23 minutes remain. Begin the countdown. The voice would sound familiar... But, off.
01:05:23:53 Remain
-68 hours earlier-
"Yeah Valo. I'll be fine, I know it's the first real mission and all but we can do it. I'm positive." Putting a hand on Valos shoulder she'd grin, "Now, do we approach now? Or do we set up camp and all that and approach at night? I think night would give better cover but hell if I know." Plopping down on the spot, Christa would pull out a granola bar, tearing open the wrapper and taking a bite. "And i'm hungry, so like we could eat and then pew pew people."

Valo looked at the pistol in his hands, checking how much ammo he had left. Fuck... He thought, seeing he was running low. Sliding the magazine back into the gun, he leaned his head back against the wall he was by, taking deep breaths. Where are you, Christa? Please, please be alive...fuck, this is my fault. I shouldn't have brought you here...
He waited for the gunfire to slow down before jumping out of cover, firing shots at the men who were shooting at him previously. He hit two of them and they dropped, but as he dove to cover, he took another shot to the upper right leg, yelling in pain as he quickly crawled to safety.
"1 day, 5 hours and 21 minutes remain." He heard his wristwatch say, and he grit his teeth. He had to find Christa...
68 Hours Earlier...
Valo returned Christa's smile, nodding as she said she wanted to do this. Things will be okay... they have to be. He thought, seeing Christa plop down on the floor.
"At night?" He pondered for a moment. "...Why didn't I think about that?" He looked around, finding the area of the forest they were in seemed secure enough, and the trees hid them from sight currently from any sentries.
"Alright, we'll make our way closer when we have light, but the operation itself will be done at night." He spoke, grabbing a capsule at tossing it to the ground nearby, where it would expand quickly into a tent for the two of them. He would walk over and hold the tent flap open for her.
"Ladies first." He grinned. "And... do you got any more of those granola bars?"

Christa would begin to wake up, her vision blurry and distorted as she would try to sit up. Only to fall back down once more. "Nngh. My head..." Glancing around the room she'd see all of her equipment tossed to the side on a... Bloody table. "Fucking hell." Moving as slow as she could she would glance around. Noting that she was in a prison cell of some kind, she'd check the floor around her before standing up. What to do, what to do. Jumping slightly at a voice she'd hear behind her.
"Good to see you awake, dear."
67 Hours Earlier...
"Oh god, I dont know why you dont think of a lot of things." Laughing she'd step into the tent and set up her sleeping area and everything. "Oooh yeah! We gotta eat too!" Grinning she'd take a few necessary things from her bag to set up a small fire in front of the tent, followed by the two fold up chairs they had brought along with them.
"Oh and uh... Yep!" Taking a granola bar out of her pack, she'd toss it over to Valo. Christa would then take a few things wrapped in tinfoil from the front pocket of her backpack, placing them on the small grill they had in front of them. "Thought i'd make something good for the first night ya'know."

"He ran behind the wall there!" "We've got the bastard cornered now!" "Go along the side, we got him if he tries to escape!"
Valo leaned back against the wall, panting heavily as he put pressure on some of his wounds to attempt to stop the bleeding. He had no time to apply proper first aid, not did he have the luxury of taking even a moment to rest. He looked in front of him, seeing a cliff with a long drop to a river below. It was a dangerous jump, even if he was in full condition, and it'd surely kill him if he tried to do it now. He couldn't jump, not when he had to find Christa.
Pushing himself off of the wall, he held his gun tightly, his hand shaking. He walked slowly, aiming his gun to his right as he heard footsteps and shouting approaching. He fired three shots, hitting a man in the chest twice and another in the head. Before he could turn around to get the men approaching from the left, he heard gunshots, and bullets pierced his torso. Valo raised his gun and fired, shooting two more of the men before he was shot once more, losing his footing and falling off of the cliff behind him...
67 Hours Earlier...
"Hey, that's why I've got you around, right?" He grinned, placing his gear and bags in the tent. He would lower his hood before helping Christa with the preparations in front of the tent. It was almost like they were on vacation again, this time on a nice little island. It would have been perfect if it weren't for the arms group on the island, but you know.
"The sea is so pretty."
Valo spoke quietly, catching the granola bar and thanking her. He would open it and take a bite, plopping down in one of the chairs she brought. "Something good, huh? I'm curious."
