Name: Rick Miller
Alias: Ricky
Age: 14
Grade: Freshman
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 110 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dark
Appearance:
Personality: Despite his short and somewhat rough look, Rick is a confident person with a lot of trust in his own skills. He's a "do it yourself" kind of guy who wants to prove he doesn't need to depend on anyone else. Over the years, this has made him into a more adaptable person, ready to learn anything new to hep him get through his life's obstacles. You can call him an innovator or just a a cunning person, but his adaptability makes him quite the dependable teenager. On the other hand, it's made him into a very arrogant young man when it comes to working with others. He's very ready to insist that he can do anything by himself, given enough time. Other times, this arrogance is exemplified in a withdrawal from others when he needs to do something (such as planning, fixing something, or whatever).
Fighting Style: The way Rick fights is hardly anything impressive. He doesn't know any special moves or intimidating fighting stances. Instead, he fights in a way similar to that as some average Joe on the street who uses simple punches on soft spots while occasionally veering backwards to escape an attack. Beyond that, Rick might go in for cheap shots given the big disadvantage of his small size. This can mean throwing sand into someone's eyes, kicking them in the gonads, or stabbing someone with a pencil in a fistfight like a mad man. On rare occasions, he might try to copy some weird fight move he saw in a movie or video game and (likely) fail.
Strengths:
Innovator - As someone who likes to find solutions on his own obstacles, Rick has become one to make a habit of finding new, if not unorthodox, ways of solving problems.
Non-Confrontational - Rick isn't some violent boy who goes looking for trouble. He prefers, instead, to just get out of the way of coming danger when he ethically can.[/ul]
Weaknesses:
Unambitious - Rick's greatest aspiration is to just become a fisherman like his father. He doesn't care too much for his grades, worry about becoming influential, or amassing wealth in some get-rich-quick scheme. No one should expect great things from him.
Easily Swayed - Rick is the kind of person you could probably talk into doing anything, especially with peer pressure.[/ul]
History: Rick's from the New York City borough of Queens, where he spent much of his life in the suburbs. It wasn't the most dangerous place in New York City, though Rick does remember a kid getting ran over by a minivan once. He was an only child, son of Jim and Amelia Miller. Amelia was the spitting image of a 1950's housewife who coddled her son a bit too much and always thought of Rick as her "Baby Boy" or "Little Ricky." Jim, on the other hand, was the tough-love kind of father who was always holding the bar up really high for his rather short son to fail at reaching. He worked as a fisherman on the coast though, meaning there wasn't a lot of time for father-son bonding (not that Rick minded) but Rick at least got to eat a lot of fish (fun).
There was a kid named Greg who lived just a few houses down from Rick. The two were roughly the same age, went to school together, and were great friends. In that friendship, Greg had a habit of bringing Rick along on mischievous adventures, such as but not limited to planting firecrackers in various places, stealing odd amounts of pharmacy toys, and purposely leaving behind adult magazines in church pews. It the sort of boyish humor and comedic gags that each one would brag about for years and also the sort that earned Rick the disappointment of his father. It wasn't uncommon for Rick's weekends to be filled with his mother pulling his ear as she tugged him toward his father to be scolded about something stupid he and Greg did. Rick never did figure out how Greg was immune to getting grounded...
Out of all misadventures of Rick and Greg, several stand out. The first major incident started with Greg paying Rick a visit while Amelia was visiting neighbors across the street. The conversation between the two wasn't very long or complicated in the least, more like Greg wanting to borrow someone's car and take it for ride to which Rick happily obliged. They ended up taking Amelia's minivan and drove slowly around the block to avoid any mishaps, but it failed miserably. Greg wanted to go faster and they ended up hitting some kid who, thankfully, wasn't injured too badly. Also, thankfully, Rick's period of being grounded wasn't too bad either (two months). That was strike one and, yes, there was a strike two. Several months later, Rick and Greg attended a nearby circus, where the duo ended up getting into a fight with a clown after said clown sprayed Greg in the face with a fake flower.
Strike three: one day, Greg and Rick had managed to get their little hands on a pack of cigarettes. Being the "cool dudes" they were, they pretty much had to try smoking out once. Unfortunately, Rick didn't know much about cigarette anatomy and ended up burning his own house down. While everyone ended up being physically okay, Rick's parents were reasonably pissed. They ended up moving deeper into the city and, as a punishment meant to keep him under control, enrolled the boy into PHS #552.
