Name: Veronica Cooper
Alias: Ronnie ; Crazy
Age: 28
Grade: Graduated; Master of Library Science Degree (MLS)
Career: Librarian (manager)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 136
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Gender/Sex: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual
Appearance:
Veronica is a tall woman of slender build, much like a model. She has high, defined cheekbones inherited by her Israeli mother, and her dark skin tone comes from her African American father. Due to her OCD, Veronica is always well dressed, her clothing impeccably clean and properly fitted, and her hair is generally pulled tightly back and parted in the middle. It is rare for anything to be out of place or ruined, yet she frequently checks and, if it is, Veronica must leave the vicinity and fix it.
Personality:
OCD
Veronica has what is known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or OCD, and, like others with the same disorder, it runs her life. The librarian is a severe perfectionist, and obsessed with cleanliness, order, and structure. If something is out of place or broken, Veronica has a pathological need to fix it. The same goes for certain rituals; no matter how silly she must adhere or her anxiety will be debilitating, such as touching rows of objects, rearranging items, constantly checking to ensure her hair and clothing is in place, washing her hands so many times, etc. Her OCD also makes it difficult to sleep, as her brain is always running, and so Veronica suffers from insomnia and scarcely sleeps, more prone to clean and pace at night than to actually rest.
Confident
The librarian is hardly cocky, but she is very aware of her capabilities and is not easily intimidated. There is an air of confidence surrounding Veronica, if her anxiety and obsessive behavior isn't making her manic. Those who know her tend to feel safe around Veronica, and for good reason. She is not one to sway due to someone else's will and she will stand her ground. There is little doubt that Veronica is a born leader.
Observant
Veronica's powers of observation are top notch and very little passes her notice, whether it is social cues, changes in environment, or any kind of detail. That is, when she isn't overwhelmed by her OCD.
Intelligent
There is no doubt that Veronica is an educated woman, and an intellectual to boot. And she constantly strives to improve her intelligence. The librarian values knowledge, in herself and others, and is a big advocate for schooling and reading. It should also be noted that her intelligence is her strength in a fight, as Veronica is very resourceful and wise.
Fighting Style:
While inevitably skilled due to the training of her FBI and Israeli Special Forces parents, Veronica much prefers range and is an excellent gunwoman. Unless she is forced to be weaponless, Veronica carries two high caliber guns on her person; she is quite skilled with dual wielding. And while she is not particularly strong or swift, but the librarian misses very little and is highly knowledgeable.
Strengths:
Even when outmatched or facing a formidable foe, Veronica is not one to be intimidated or to show fear. She certainly knows her capabilities and won't go against someone she knows she cannot beat, but her will and inner strength is unwavering and she will not tremble. It is entirely against her nature. Those who know her well know her to be quite fearless.
The librarian may appear to be an ordinary, even frail woman, but her perception is extraordinary and she as an incredible eye for detail, not to mention she is resourceful and intelligent. Her marksmanship is near perfection, as well, and she is a quick draw.
Weaknesses:
Veronica's obsessive nature controls her life, and even when in the middle of a fight or something incredibly important she is easily swayed by her OCD. She cannot leave a mess and has a severe need for tidiness and order. Despite having a strong will in general, her OCD is far stronger and rules her. While she cannot be intimidated, disorder, such as messes, will put her in a panic. Veronica cannot stop herself from heeding the need for perfection, or to backtrack when she is led to believe something is out of place.
She is also not especially brawny or swift, and in a purely physical fight she can be beaten. Hence her preference for range.
History:
Veronica is the eldest of her four siblings, if only by nine minutes with her twin brother. Both of her parents are serious and hard-working individuals, her mother one of the best among the Israeli Special Forces and her African American father having started out as a cop and ending up in CIA. Having met on a mission in the Middle East, the two fell in love and married, starting their family in America not much longer. No doubt her parents were loving and supportive of their children, but they offered a strict, militaristic upbringing where Veronica, unlike her artistic twin, thrived. While her OCD became apparent upon reaching middle school, Veronica was always orderly, gladly making her bed and cleaning with perfection as her parents expected, not to mention making straight A's. Whereas others may have struggled with her obsessive nature and need for perfection, her parents were nothing short of proud, which only boosted the girl's confidence.
Starting young, each of the children went into training, learning martial arts and gunmanship. Again, Veronica thrived most of all out of her siblings, and after completing high school (a few years younger, as she skipped a couple of grades) received a scholarship for shooting, where she earned her undergraduate in Criminology, seeking to be a cop like her father after spending sometime in the military. Yet not everything goes as planned.
Veronica fell in love with a blonde beauty at her college. It hadn't taken too terribly long for the young woman to discover her sexuality, her relationship with her boyfriend not having lasted long in high school. While she had a few short-term relationships with other women, there were none Veronica genuinely came to love and saw a future with. Not until Jessie.
They fell head over heels, and, beyond her parents, Jessie was amongst the first to accept Veronica's eccentricities. Veronica increasingly spent more time with her girlfriend, who was finishing her dual degree in business and psychology, and they developed a dream, albeit small but one that brought Veronica happiness: to one day own a bookstore, maybe multiple. She always held a love for books and, dropping out of police academy despite the disapproval of her parents, returned to school to earn a librarian degree. Not only would they build a business together, but a life, and it was something Veronica genuinely looked forward too.
Yet, despite their love, there were undoubtedly complications. No matter how much Jessie tried to help and Ronnie's love for her, the OCD still ruled her life and, as they lived together, it became more difficult for Jessie to bear. It got in the way of their relationship time and time again and, after a few years passed and Veronica neared finishing her degree, the two broke up. It did not end disastrously, Jessie ensuring she still loved her. Yet she explained it was too difficult to live with and so they quietly parted ways, with no huge fights or betrayals. Only acceptance.
Despite her sorrow for having lost her soul mate, the two remained friends and Veronica finished her degree. Instead of owning a string of bookstores as initially planned, Veronica has come to work at a large library in the city. Rising through the ranks, she is now the manager and works most days, making sure everything is running smoothly. Perhaps a dull life to many, but the order and leadership position has brought Veronica contentedness...
Other:
Veronica has a twin brother (younger by 9 minutes) and two little siblings, a brother and a sister. Her and twin, as well as her younger sister, are full grown, whereas the brother is still in high school.
