Siobhan felt the phantom pain in her leg throb again, a forced reminder of the sacrifices she was making. The unregistered gun in her hand shook slightly, the experience of murdering another life coming back with a vengeance. Ever since boarding school Siobhan hadn't the slightest intention of killing another. The heavy ache didn't let her forget why she was leaning against the wall, trying to calm her breathing before stepping out into the hall. In all honesty, Siobhan did not want to do this. Shaken up and suffering from repressed emotion, the girl wanted nothing but to pull the trigger with the barrel against her temple. But loyalty was a heavy chain and with one severed it was finally time to put down the beast.
Standing up, she stepped into the hallway before she could doubt herself. Striding down the hall, Siobhan placed four bullets accurately, watching the first strings of blood splatter against the floor. Guards fell, but when charged the girl but to use the experience learned from some of the more intelligent at her school. Each man succumbed to her tactics although one in particular was more voracious than the others. Leaning down close to his face, the gun pressed to his forehead, Siobhan whispered to him softly.
"I was always better than you."
Siobhan entered the room in front of her, closing the door silently. There were no noises for fifteen minutes before the door opened in the same fashion, the girl leaving this time. Instead of her spotless exterior, she was splattered in blood, entire body pale and shaking. Dropping the gun to the floor, she made it two steps before falling to one knee. The injured leg which still throbbed was now openly aching without reserve.
"I don't understand", Siobhan murmured, rubbing it absentmindedly, "I did it. It's all over now."
