Until you come back, I'm standing here where there is no day or night...
The district streets were almost barren, enough time having passed that people knew to avoid them for fear of being attacked. Many of the survivors had been without much to eat, and the innocent trapped within were in hiding. It only took one moment to mark you for death, maybe you had something to eat, or maybe you caught someone on a bad day in a desperate attempt to fight against their situation.
Despite being a high profile target, Valo was walking out in the middle of the streets. His left hand was holding his Sky Guard, and within it rested his lightning-infused Dragon Talon, the sword of all of the Lightning Dragons before him.
Red eyes stared out through black bangs as he scanned the area, looking for any signs of life. As he walked through the area, he recalled happier times just months ago, all of the memories he had made with all of the people he had met. He had walked with Zoe down these very streets, stopping at the hardware store next to him as they got to know one another and she had pocketed the job opening ad she had picked up. Seeing it brought a wave of nostalgia across him, but also filled him with sadness as he looked upon the deserted and destroyed building, a cruel reminder that those times were long gone, and that Zoe was no longer with him.
He wished one of the Apostles would show up, so he could take his growing hatred out on them. He wanted to make a showing of what happened to those who crossed him. He wanted to send a message to the Apostles. He wanted them to be afraid. He wanted them to know that he was coming for them, and he was going to kill every last one of them.
But alas, the Apostles could be anyone around him, the only ones for sure being under the protection of the fallen school, and even he knew it was complete suicide to charge in there alone. For now, he'd bide his time, and he'd wait for one of them to show themselves. The way he saw it, if a strong fighter appeared who wasn't from LG or Apex, they were likely an Apostle, especially with his brothers now dead.
"You two probably wouldn't approve of me if you saw me now, but you two can judge me when I see you on the other side..." He spoke to himself as he continued to walk down the street.
