Welcome delinquents to PHS #552. A few reminders, no rough housing, no running in the hallways, no cheating, and no talking back to your teachers. Beyond that, enjoy yourselves. After all these are the years you’ll look back on, and remember, you mother fuckers peaked too early.

A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

The school might have been a nice place, once. Before the bombs, the walls, the Apostles, all the ruin that fate had wrought upon this place, perhaps it had stood tall and proud, a place where the strong grew and trained and fought to their heart's content, where friendships and rivalries were formed and broken, where those affected by the madness unleashed by those with superhuman abilities could try to pretend it was normal. Could it have been like that, once?
Looking at it now, Jack couldn't really tell.
He averted his eyes whilst he walked well around it, not particularly wanting to gaze upon a past that was not his. He had never come to this school before, and he was not here for it now.
It was the old gym he was heading for, the one major structure that still stood firm, untouched and untouchable. As he approached, it towered over him like a thunderhead, a deep shadow stretching out from it, a titanic doormat of darkness. Fitting, that it should be called the House of Storms.
Okay, perhaps it wasn't so dramatic as that, but Jack was more than a little nervous, and things did tend to seem a little larger-than-life in this District. Nevertheless, he didn't let an ounce of discomfort show as he strolled right up and kicked the door, hard.
"Anyone home?" His shout was loud enough to echo slightly, alerting any sharp ears that might be listening nearby. "I'm looking for the Lightning Gang!"

”Ooooi what's up Princey?”
The voice was wild and unyielding. It had a noticeable Australian twang to it, and the voice was from a fairly young girl. However, the most unusual thing was that the voice came from directly above. High above Jack's head were rafters across the ceiling. A girl with short brown hair looked down at him. She was sitting on the rafters, her legs dangling and waving slightly. With a cheeky wave, and winked towards him.
”You want the Lightning Gang? Better look for a storm cloud gang eh!?”

Lightning struck fast enough, if perhaps not from the angle Jack was expecting. He looked up, his eyes wide with surprise, to see little girl sitting high above, shouting down at him with a sort of mischievous glee. She instantly reminded him of a squirrel, a thought that caused him to smile back up at her in response. From what he'd heard of the Gang, he'd been expecting some sort of massive, brutal-looking thug, and yet here was someone who looked not only nonthreatening, but also quite adorable.
He called back up to her, his loud, confident voice easily reaching her ears. "Nah, figured it'd be best if I came in out of the blue!" A joke for a joke, a fair trade and a means of quickly making a good impression, if it worked. "So, you a part of the bug-zapper crew, or just hanging around here? 'Cause I heard that they're recruiting."

And thus the appearance of the giant thug. Leon would come walking out of the locker rooms in time to hear the banter. He looked over to see Ira BADGERING the new arrival... Yeah he went there. However he would make his way over to the guy.
"Yeah. We are recruiting. Looking to join?"

The girl yelling down at him hadn't been at all what Jack had expected to find here, but the moment Leon appeared, he knew he'd come to the right place. This was the kind of man who could take a sledgehammer to the face, and keep on going as if nothing had happened. Intimidating? Absolutely. But that only made him precisely the kind of person one wanted as an ally, especially in a violent environment such as this.
Now came winning his trust- though from the sound of it, that might not be so tricky as Jack had thought.
He turned, and smiled back at the Lightning Gang's leader. "Right on the money. Heard some good things about you guys... and you sounded more badass than Apex." He extended a hand. "I'm Jack."
After Leon shook it, or immediately if he ignored it entirely, Jack would step back and cross his arms. "So, will you take me? Or am I going to have to jump through hoops to get in?"

Leon stared... Watching, contemplating... Judging and scanning the guy. He shook the hand and his eye's narrowed a bit.
"There is a test... Why do fighters, fight?"
Simple enough question in his own mind, but the answer reveals more about a person than they may realize.

Of course it wouldn't be so simple. Jack's eyes narrowed slightly, as he considered the question for a few seconds. Was this the test? Or merely a preliminary question, the first of a barrage of challenges? Moreover, he had no idea what the man was looking for: did Leon want honesty, or was he looking for a specific answer.
The question itself was a tricky one as well. Jack certainly knew his own reasons for fighting, but this wasn't about him. This was about every fighter... but what cause could possibly unite every person in the city brave enough to do battle?
He gave his answer confidently. "Elimination."
After a moment, he began to explain. "People all like to claim grand reasons behind their violence, but really, it's all about beating something. Sometimes this means fucking up an enemy, or a threat. Sometimes it's rooting out disloyalty. Sometimes it's to break out of your boredom. Even in a spar, you're fighting something: your own weakness. Fighting is a tool for getting rid of problems, both inside and out, and fighters are people who are willing to put their bodies and lives on the line to use it. Fighters fight, because there's something eating at their lives, bad enough that they'll do anything to kill it."
Jack fell silent. He'd gone on long enough, and he felt there was little else to say.

Leon raised an eye brow at the initial response before an explanation, but when the explanation came it slowly lowered back to it's level position with the other. He would nod when the explanation finished. Rolling his right shoulder and stretching his neck a bit, he would move the test along.
"Hit me. Give me everything you got."
He'd stand neutral and wait, watching.
