Post by Kazuya Hikari on Mar 14, 2016 15:57:48 GMT -5
The time had come.
Kazuya sat on the edge of his bed, his elbows resting on top of his knees. His finger interlaced together, his face resting against his hands, he had spent the better part of his afternoon in his room, sitting on his bed... and pondering. So much so, it was already nighttime, as moonlight streamed through his window, softly lighting his room up. Though it was by no means an easy decision... it was one Kazuya knew would be right, in the end. Even if the consequences would be hard to face. Rising up off his bed, he would walk to his desk, and pulling his chair out, would sit down in it, and flicking his lamp on, would pull a piece of paper and pen towards him, and begin writing... to Melanie.
As he wrote, he would explain to her why he was doing what he was doing. With the Apostles no longer a threat, there was nothing more he could teach her. As her Sensei, he had taught her everything she had needed to protect herself, and he couldn't protect her forever, otherwise she would become dependent on him. She was tough and independent in her own right, and he didn't want her to lose that... which is why he had break up with and leave her. He had to leave, so she could learn to become stronger on her own, without his help. He would write and write, not caring about the time, so much so, it was almost close to midnight by the time he finished. A grim look on his face, he knew it would be hard, and it would hurt Melanie more than it hurt him, but it had to be done. Folding the paper up into thirds, he would slip it into an envelope, and write Melanie's name on the front, before rising up from his chair.
Now, there was only one thing left to do. Standing in front of the door of Melanie's room, the envelope in his hand, he would crouch down, and slip it underneath her door, and without a second glance, would turn and quietly head down the hallway, before walking out of the Girl's Dormitory building, before being completely enveloped by the darkness of the night, as he made his way back to his room. It hurt... but if she became stronger by her own volition, he had no regrets.
Goodbye... Melanie.
