A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Steven was on the way home from school for the day. As per normal he took the scenic route back to his apartment, which meant going through the local park. However the scenery was not what was occupying his attention to day. He was still thinking of lunch time when he had come in contact with the First Pillar. Somehow he had come out on top of the day, and even had a new book to read. Which was why as he cut across the basketball court in his local park, he didn't notice that there was currently a game going on.
Someone crashed into him and knocked him down, before shouting. "God damn it what the fuck?" The other of them stepped up and noticed the book on the floor he had been reading. "Stupid bookworm, get out of a real man's past time before we make you." The second shouted, as Steven got his feet dusting the book off and looking at the pair. There was no delicate way to put, they were both African American but he recognised the pair. He had seen them at the school in passing, and before that had seen them around before. They obviously lived in the area somewhere.
The comment pissed Steven off, just because he enjoyed a book didn't mean sport was beyond him. In fact he use to play a few years back. Even though he hadn't played in some time, his other physical past times still meant he was pretty athletic. "Two on one right now. First to 5." Steven countered quickly stepping to the side of the court and putting the book down and and taking his jacket off.
Around ten minutes later, Steven and the three men were panting but some how he managed to push the impromptu game to 4 to 4 baskets. In the end however Steven managed to intercept a rebound off the back board, and before the two men could get in position to prevent him doing so, Steven jumped and took a shot. Both men tried to intercept and failed, watching as the ball was heading straight for it's target. With out even waiting Steven landed and head for his jacket, slung it over his shoulder and picked up the book. The ball went through the net with a audible swish, and Steven smiled to himself as started to walk away. Not even commenting on the game. However one of the men took offence to being beating by a single guy, epically someone he though shouldn't be able to play. The guy rush over and with out missing a beat swung a fist into the back of Steven's head taking him to the ground by surprise.

HEY!"
Allen called out from the other side of the court, having been doing pushups, situps and the ilk. His sister always taught him to stretch and workout whenever he could, as you never knew what was around the corner. His sister was bubbly and happy and a total nerd...but she got really quiet, and was almost like Aaron. He loved her for teaching him and showing him patience. For being there when mom wasn't.
Anyway- to the kid who got punched. He would jog over and help lift Steven back to his feet.
"Sore loser! Just because you didn't like getting spanked doesn't give the right to be a coward and hit a man when he didn't see it coming!"
Yeah...he was probably saying too much.

Steven was already trying to get to his feet, his teeth clenched, when the other kid reached him and helped him. Steven shook his head to clear his mind, glad to still have the adrenalin in his system from the game. It was probably dulling the pain he would otherwise be in. Steven mouth dropped though, when the newcomer turned and put down the guy who had punched him. Steven turned the other guy step up behind his buddy in a attempt of intimidating solidarity.
"Piss off punk." The lackey of the two snapped out, and Steven studied the pair quickly. From there builds and heigh he would have to say they were probably Juniors, younger then he was, but older then the guy next to him and athletic builds. However Steven knew that they would be slightly worn out as he was. The leader of the two, frowned and step back up raising up a fist and aiming to hit Steven's help.
Steven however stepped in the way and caught the fist with arm in a clumsy fashion, through the slight blur of vision. Before lashing out with a palm at the guys gut. "Thanks, but you might want to not get involved." Steven grunted as the leader staggered back but quick to step up again, this time with the lackey at his side. Sore loser indeed it appeared they were. He had no idea if the kid could fight, and while he had seen impressive displays of skill from smaller, namely Saya the first pillar. He knew that the pillar was an oddity. He was probably going to get a kicking, he should have listened to the younger girls warnings from earlier that day.

" Yeah right. I hate bullies." He would lunge forward, dropping low into a leg sweep, aiming to rip the second players legs from under him and send him crashing to his side. Coming to his feet quickly, Allen would aim to kick the leader straight in the side. That's what they called it, even. The side kick. He thought that was a funny play on words, as he was kinda the victims sidekick here. If it landed (he assumed it would, coming from the leaders blind spot), he hoped it would give the kid who got punched time to recoup himself and shake off the effects of the blow. Allen would back up a bit to give himself room to eye both the leader and the kid on the ground, just in case they tried to jump him while his ally was weak.

Steven's mouth dropped for the second in under a minutes, as the pair of thugs close on him, his helper instead of doing as suggested actually attacked instead. The lackey went down from the leg sweep with ease, the technic in the move designed to compensate even on a larger foe. The second attack while it landed, slamming into the leader, it didn't have as great effect as the kid could of hope. Obviously the larger of the two juniors was made of pretty stern stuff. Taking such a solid blow and much like from his own attack before only staggered back.
However the kick certainly had a greater effect then his palm had. Kicks were intrinsically more powerful then blows made with the upper body due to larger muscle. As such rather then being able to recover quickly, he was stunned. Long enough for Steven to shake his head clear again once more. Steven charged and jumped at the guy, leading leg coming down on the the guys tight. Using his own body like a stepping stone Steven pushed up bring his other leg up. A knee would slam in to the underside of the man's chin sending over backwards. However still slightly dazed Steven misstep as he came back down, falling back over on to his ass. The leader wasn't going to be getting up quick, but the other while momentary tripped, was already most of the way up and heading for Allen. A unrefined slam of a kick with his right leg would lift up and aim for his face. Now to the old days of the WWE known as the big boot.

Great thing about Allen? He was small. A small frame, short stature. His ducking would be like someone bending over while on their knees. But, here, he didn't duck. Now that the leader was being dealt with, Allen could focus his full attention on his man to deal with.
As the big boot came up, Allen moved right and inward, so that he would be inside the mans guard. He would wrap his left arm under the mans knee, lift up on it and plant his palm on the guys chest, pushing hard. With the balance and force the guy was putting into the big boot, all his center of force would be concentrated in that standing leg. So by grabbing the opponents kicking leg and lifting up while pushing on his chest, it would force the guy to fall flat on his back without anything to slow his fall. As he fell with that force, Allen would let go of the leg and stomp on the mans crotch.
Nothing like a good old fashioned shot to the jewels to put a man away for good.

Steven looked over as the man attacked Allen, and his counter attack. At this rate he was going to strain his jaw with the disbelief, and the sympathetic winch as the smaller kids leg came down, his foot hitting something that was in multiply way, literal and figurative below the belt. It was cringe inducing to see it happen. It wasn't in Steven mind the nicest thing to do, while he had no qualms at using whatever you had to protect yourself, it just seemed wrong. However he felt like the guy deserved it. They had annoyed him, not actually pissed him off. They would know quite well if that had been the case.
"Thanks." Steven would gasp out slowly getting to his feet. Looking over to where the first punch had taken him down, he once again saw the book on the floor. That kind of did piss him off. He had almost thought he was going to get a beating and instead had ended up with that instead. He moved over and picked, breathing a sigh of relief when it appeared undamaged.
"We should probably get out of here. My place isn't too far lucky for me." Steven said looking down at the dispatched pair, and the out to the distance of the other side of the park where his apartment complex was. "Rosett. Thanks again." He introduced and put his gratitude in to words once again, while patting the guy on the shoulder. "Nice to know I can still play." Steven chuckled, well enough to be punched, maybe he should take up the game again.

He grinned.
"Hey, no problem. Names Allen. And damn, you were pretty good. Two on one...."
His eyebrows came down at the book. Where had he seen that before...?
"What're you reading?"

Steven laughed. "More like two on two. Give yourself some credit." Steven said pointing out at that Allen had help, there was no need for modesty after so obviously lending a hand. "In the heart of the sea: The tragedy of the whaleboat Essex." Steven told the other student, seeing no need to mention the borrowed nature of the book. Nor who he had borrowed it off. "It's an interesting read, dark and depressing really, but speaks volumes about human self preservation instincts." Steven summed up the book, thumbing through the pages of the book. It had been a much quicker read then he had expected having grabbed him. He only had around 100 pages left to get through. (OOC: Seriously though good book, been reading all day )

(Indeed!)
Allen gave a hum of appreciation. Someone else who enjoyed books? Maybe this place wouldn't be as hellish as he first thought. He had made a friend in Shugo, and possibly with one of the Pillars, Alvan...though that kid was hard to understand. Almost like he had trouble grasping normal social interactions. Allen would follow Steven, though he wasn't sure where the boy was leading.
"It looks familiar....I think I saw someone reading the same book at the school assembly. Weren't you there too?"
Yes, Allen was slowly revealing his insane knack for remembering the oddest shit in the world.

Wow that was impressive memory, and and even more impressive eye to have seen the book in enough detail in the crowd on that day. Even Steven hadn't gotten a good look at it until Saya had given it to him earlier. "Yeah they lent it to me." Steven explained, if Allen new the first pillar to make the connection, it didn't matter, well he hoped, Saya appeared to have enough rumours flying around her as it was.
Steven didn't mind that the younger student had decided to follow. It would be good to get some one who seemed a little more normal then Saya. Though at this rate he was going to get a reputation of only speaking to people in the years below him and not his own. "So do you live around here?" Steven asked, as he lead the way.
Up ahead stood the block of flats that his apartment was in. Compared to the others in the local area it appeared to be in a much better state. Standing out from the other older blocks. His cousin really hadn't spared anything in finding him a decent place. Shame that he had to rely on James then his own father. The bastard.

"Huh. Cool. That was nice of them."
Allen actually had no idea if it was a man or a woman who even held the book. He had a habit of zeroing in on one thing. It's why he remember it so clearly. When he saw it, it was like the world moved in slow motion. The details- a dark green cover with a blue binding. The image on the front....he knew it. But the person who held it? Not a clue.
"They a friend of yours?"
He figured he'd continue small talk while they felt each other out as friends.
"Yeah, kinda. I live like half a mile that way. I jog here after school to get some workout in. Though usually I'm already tired from school and the fights that I just get here, stretch and walk back."
Yeah....he lived a boring life.

Was Saya a friend? That was a amusing question, he looked up to the sky and smirked. "Well we don't seem to be on bad terms, but I couldn't see her saying we were." Steven told Allen, and it was true. Why he had seemed to annoy the girl in some way, she wouldn't have lent him the book if she really disdained him. The idea however of her saying they were friend, was extremely slim, at least he thought so after what she had said.
"Well maybe next time you can play some hoops with me instead. Less likely to get attacked if I win I'm sure." Steven offered, it would be a way of getting back into practice, if he really felt like taking up the game again, and would be a source of a workout for the smaller guy. Though Steven's height probably would give him unfair advantage.

He chuckled.
"Don't count on it."
Obviously joking. He would pause, standing still and looking back the way they came. About...oh, half a block? He would turn back to Steven.
"Though I am curious, now. Do you think you could have taken them if I wasn't there?"
He wasn't indicating that Steven would have gotten whooped or anything....but that Steven came here often and Allen...well...not so often. So if there came a time where those two got friends and caught Steven alone, it might end badly for him. He wondered if the boy thought of himself as a good fighter or if he felt he managed well enough to get by. Allen thought he was good....he just lacked physical prowess. Still, he couldn't be everywhere at once and he doubted there would be someone nearby to help out next time.

Would Steven been able to take the two by himself? To be honest he wasn't sure. He was quick the glass cannon, if Allen hadn't opened up an opportunity to strike in the devastating fashion he preferred, he would have to rely on dodge and wearing them down. Something that while he could do, it would be pretty hard to do while fighting against two at the same time. More then likely Steven would have run instead, their would have been no point risking it and he should have been out pace them long enough to reach home.
Even so he didn't want to appear weak in front of Allen, nor did he want to lie by putting down the kids role in the fight, especially after having pretty much saying that he had been of help. "I'm just glad I didn't have to find out." Steven would deflect the question. "Either way it's appreciated." He added hoping that saying so would distract from the deflection. "Though it does point out in my mind a problem with the pillar system." Steven would tell Allen, even his interest in Saya hadn't diminishedhis slight contempt of the system. "Think about at school they encourage people to fight, make it there nature, but they can't really police it out here so far from school." Steven would explain what he meant.
