A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Allen half shrugged.
"I think the point is more about having at least one safe enviroment. Where you can fight if you want to, but if you don't there is someone who can and will protect your right to refuse. You can't stop all violence everywhere....you can only do what you can, with what you have."
He would put a hand behind his head.
"I actually like and respect the Pillar system. We are all the same students, but some of us are weaker than others. Some of us have to deal with bullies on a daily basis, and nobody really cares to help out. The Pillars take on the title and the responsibility, so that people turn their anger on them rather than on those who are weaker. They get to be a lightning rod for for the strongest students, and that helps everyone. They protect those who are weaker, and there is something respectable in that I think. They don't have to do it, after all."
Yeah, he admired them. He didn't make that a secret. He sometimes didn't agree with their methods or their reasons, but just having the title made you a target, and thats all that mattered to him.

He hadn't actually met anyone so far who spoke so well of the pillar system. Maybe Steven previous experiences in his old school had tainted his view of the system. No he knew it had, and he knew that made him biased but it was hard to avoid being so. He was hard to avoid that, he was reminded of it every time he saw his back in a mirror after all.
"You don't need a title to help someone. Nor do you need it to make you a target for others ire." Steven countered Allen argument and it was true. "I know that for sure." Steven stated from sure due to his past. "Plus you got made one today by helping me. Those guys ain't going to forget you. Especially the one you took down." Steven pointed out, knowing that no man would forgive someone who used such a low blow as Allen had to take the guy out of commission. "Though if you really think the title is necessary. It doesn't have to be of a pillar, could always make a new one for yourself." Steven said, and then smirked to himself at the idea. That wasn't a bad idea. Some sort of knight in shining armour, someone who didn't limit himself to helping end fights in school.

He shook his head.
"No, fighting isn't just the point. Thinking yourself better than everyone else is. There is a physical battle to being a Pillar. Where you put down fights and make people hate you for it. But being selected or chosen for a role where you are given more by the teachers, and treated as though you are above the laws you enforce....it tends to push more on the mental battle then just you walking around beating up bullies."
He would smile.
"Sure, some or even most Pillars who take the role don't think in those terms. But they are working in those terms none-theless. You don't take the title unless you think your better. A School Captain is the Captain because he's the best fighter. He could be the best fighter and not have that title. So why take it? Because you want others to feel like they are below you. That you are better. And thats the key to the Pillar system. Molding a students mind to fit a parameter the headmaster or school council defines."
He recognized what Rosett was saying- that you could have a big name and not be a Pillar. And that was true. But just having that title didn't get you special treatment from the teachers or the rest of the student body. The Pillar title did, and thats what pissed people off most. Students herding students into a cage. Allen appreciated that ideal, though. It made people weak want to get strong, and it turned strong people on the system rather than on each other. Whether that was the purpose or not, he saw that definition day in and day out.

Steven listened to Allen speak, it was obvious that there view conflict in some ways. He could see the point being made he just didn't agree. There was on line that caught him though. The school captain was the best fighter in the school. No that didn't sit quite right. It was probably true but it didn't have to be. It just meant he was the strongest interested in the role. It's not like you could force someone who was the best to take the title and do the task if they didn't want to.
The gate of the park, would pass by as the pair walked and talked, and they soon found themselves at the base of Steven's apartment block. However Steven didn't feel like leaving just yet. For someone like him, even with conflicting views, he loved a good debate. "Well you're welcome to come up if you wanna keep talking friend." Steven would offer, the debate was fun, and maybe it gave Steven to vent a little about his own past which was routed in his views. He only ever really spoken to his father about it. Well shouted with.

Allen would turn back and grab the street name, then the address number and shoot a text to his sister, letting her know where he was in case she needed him, or in case this guy was a murderer or something.
He would then follow Steven up, allowing him time to speak or show him around or whichever he wanted to do.

Steven would unlock doors, and lead the way, up the stairs. Lucky for the both of them the apartment was only a couple floors up and the pair would be quickly inside. Allen would be greeted by and extremely plain looking abode. No photo, no pictures. There was a single large leather chair, a desk with an office chair with a laptop atop it. Well that except for the book cases. It had taken forever to move his collection here after his dad had kicked him out.
"Drink?" Steven would ask simply, gesturing to the large chair as he made his way to the kitchen. He didn't expect to make a guess sit in the office chair after all. He would use that himself. Steven would pour a glass of water, and get anything Allen asked for before pulling up a chair. "So I have to wonder, why do you like the pillars. Alot of people don't or well at least I know most are kinda scared of one of them." Steven would say, meaning Saya. He hadn't really looked to much into the other pillar. Well Ali the one from the announcement at school seemed well like he had to admit.

Allen thought for a moment after nodding that he would like a drink.
"Well, I think about what things would be like without Pillars. Even violent ones. Most Pillars, regardless of whether they took the title or not, will try to adhere to the rules they are given charge over. It's part of having that title. Being able to force people to obey your word and the words of the school. Without them, yes there would be people who fight to protect other people, but in truth it would just be chaotic. It would be people fighting people for ideals. The Pillars have only one ideal- to protect the interests of the students and the school."
He took a slow breath.
"They keep a semblance of order. Yes, fights still break out. Yes, sometimes people get bullied. But not nearly as much as if there were no pillars. When kids are thinking about beating up weaker students, they look over their shoulder. And should they see a Pillar they think better of it. I think having them does more good than harm, over all. I also think it's the duty of the student populace to grow stronger and, if you get better than a Pillar, remove them from power. You need the strongest people at the top, so that those below think hard before they decide to mess with smaller or weaker students."
Truth be told, he had dealt with Pillars before. He didn't always like them, but he always appreciated what they did. Going around kicking peoples asses, to him, just felt like being a bully himself. Having a title and being given the authority to monitor bullies...that gave reason to the madness of combat.

As Allen didn't specify a preference for a drink and just nodded, he would end up with a glass of water like he had. He made a good point, if Steven just went around the school taking down bullies with no authority he would be breaking the rules of the school. That would quite quickly put himself at odds with the pillars, and Saya. That seemed counter intuitive, plus she had lent him a book, he wouldn't want to end up fighting her. Not just because she would probably kick his ass either. Still that didn't deal with bullying off of school grounds. Idea started to form in Steven's mind.
"Well I have seen those that aren't smart enough when confronted by a pillar to back down. Today in fact." Steven pointed out that the intimidation factor obviously didn't work as well as people could hope. "The way I see it is. Is if your going to encourage violence in school, even in a controlled fashion. You have to worry about what those people will do out of the range of that control. Plus I don't plan to go around beating up bullies. I have my reason for avoiding confrontation at school."
"I don't need to have my cousin stop paying for this place and putting back on the streets like my day did. I promised him I would stay out of trouble after all." Steven would explain his reasons, though even the idea of helping out of school had its problems. Instead of pillars, they were called police.

Allen didn't say anything at first, but after he spoke about his cousin he would agree.
"Oh, I agree. But then again, 552 seems like a high school university. I mean, how many students are here? A thousand? Three thousand? There are bound to be a few morons willing to break the rules for fun. And that's okay. There are people like that out in the real world. But I think the idea behind letting them fight in school is that when they leave here, the desire may not run so deep. It can curb the appetite."
He wasn't sure, and didn't necessarily agree with fighting on school grounds for entertainment. Then again, he didn't really enjoy fighting at all. But he wouldn't continue the argument on that point.
"But...I wonder. How old are you? You live here alone?"

The question took Steven be surprise. His own word did slightly imply the fact, well it was true after all. "I'm 17, not that shy off 18, and yeah I do. My older cousin pays for the place." Steven replied restate in more certain terms that he only had the place due to the kindness of his cousin. Well not so much his kindness. More so his mother had begged him to, because Steven father absolutely refused to be involved with his son, and had denied his mother from doing so as well.
"My father kicked me out on the streets after something that happened in my last school." Steven explained, the short version but turn around and decided to give the long one anyway. "A teacher in my old school was using the pillar and other students not to curb violence but used them to cause chaos. I don't know why, but I found out and arranged 20 guys to jump him." Steven started sipping his water in a break. "Well some guys liked how things were, and turned around and put me hospital. Because of that Dad found out what I did, he's a big authority is always right kinda guy, and well basically disowned me." Steven finished explaining. It certainly would portray to Allen why Steven wasn't so keen on authority.

His eyebrows went up before he nodded sagely.
"Ahh, I see. Well, thats where you and I are alike. There is a difference between responsible handling of power and responsibility, IE how Pillars should be, and their opposite- people who abuse power out of fear or desire for personal gain. Bullies. If I were in your position I would have done the same."
He took a long drink of his water, needing it from both his workout and from the fight.
"But I wouldn't necessarily say Pillars are the same in that respect. You have to define your impressions based on the actions of the rulers, and respond accordingly. If they do good and are good for the school or the people around them...? Well, those are the kinds of people you should praise and help, not fight back against."
Just his opinion, obviously, though he supposed he could see why Rosett would be biased.

"I know your right. Can't say Saya didn't give that guy fair warning today." Steven would say, and it was true that the first pillar had indeed warned the guy who was after him. Today's action was definitely in regards to the concept of the Pillars a good one. Fair warning, protecting him instead of leaving him to fight. Finished quickly and no kicking the guy while he was down. It wasn't what he was use to.
"Though can't really comment on the other 3. I managed to avoid them so far." Steven admitted, and laying judgement against them before even meeting them was probably premature. Maybe he should go out of his way to meet the other pillars and the school captain, or at least track them down while in action to see how they operated. He already knew not to rely solely on rumours.

He would grin.
"We'll go together, maybe. If I ever plan to be one, I should see who my competition is."
Oh yeah. He didn't want to fight but...he hated bullies. He had heard rumors of the other three but hadn't seen them either, besides at the assembly. Wait, no- he did see Alvan. Alvan was....an interesting character. Very awkward but not altogether bad. Ali seemed more of the cool guy in that people liked him, but until he saw otherwise would reserve judgement. And Saya...wait, Steven mentioned her just now, right?
"So, wait- what guy?"
He was intrigued. Saya was different from the other three. Like a shadow in the dark. But...definitely not a shadow you wanted on your ass, apparently.

Well it might be a smart idea to have someone else present when he met the others. He didn't know what they would be like, for all he knew he could inadvertently insult them. Having someone that might back him up, like he had today that would be smart. "So, wait- what guy?" Allen would asked, at the same time as Steven spoke in a shocked tone. "You wanna be pillar?" Steven well he seemed like a decent guy, but from how he been after the fight he didn't seem that confident in his fighting ability.
"Don't know his name, just a bully that I lead away from the guy he was picking on. Saya dealt with him. Though don't really want to talk about that much more. I have my reason to not wanting to spread rumours about her."
Steven would briefly explain, not going into any more detail. He felt that the first pillar had enough people talking behind her back, and didn't want to be one of them. He had already said more then he really should of done, though. Having answered Allen, Steven waited for him to answer him, drinking casually as he did.

Allen smirked.
"Aww, c'mon. You gotta tell me what she was like, at least. I swear, I have no preconcieved notions of her."
He actually was curious for his own reasons....he wanted to decide who to keep around when it came down to the wire.
"And yeah, I do. School Captain."
Oh yeah. Go big, or go home.
