A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

[OOC: I don't care how many people join, but it seems everyone uses 24 hours so... I'll post every 24 hours for the class to move on, or when I get frustrated and must post just 'cause. Start out by picking an instrument (or use a pen and tap it on a table like Koop suggests for those who suck at playing) that your character is good at/seems like they would be good out/wants to learn/looks cool with.
(Totally stealing this from Luka) No raising hands and waiting to be called on by the teacher, just ask the damn question. Why are you raising your hand anyways? This is band, fool. Start by entering the class and picking an instrument, then state what it is, and what row you're sitting in. You can talk to people if you're not a weird loner or something. Also, if you're late, you're gonna get punished. Band style.]
Brian resided in the front of his classroom, sitting on his desk, awaiting students to enter. Behind him he'd written "sit down at an instrument of your choice" and "Mr. Matthews" on the chalkboard in colorful chalk. The chairs were aligned in 4 rows, random instruments placed at every chair so students would be able to select any they chose, but would have to sit where said instrument was. Besides the chair, sort of fitting into the rows, a large piano was placed.
Once everyone was seated, Brian would hop off his desk and twirl around. "Hi hi~ Welcome to band class at your high school! I'm Mr. Matthews, your band teacher." Cue random peace signs over his eyes. After posing, Brian would sling a strap connected to an electric guitar around his neck. "It's music time~!"

At least the teacher's cute.
Sarah made her way into the class and didn't really have any sort of feelings as to music. She wasn't inclined with any instrument and her singing was awful. Still, it was a nice easy credit and it was a little easier on her self esteem so she went over to percussion, hitting things with sticks. Couldn't be that hard right? She grabbed herself a triangle and a little metal thing to cling against it. She grinned and looked down to the teacher plugging in the guitar.
I'm gonna rock the shit out of this bitch like it's supper time.
"Do we have to know how to read music or can I just ting along to the rhythm and all that? What does sheet music even look like for this instrument?"

Zoe couldn't believe a school like this had an actual band class! She smiled brightly as she opened the door, walking into the class. She had made sure to come extra early to get a front row seat. Zoe clutched her bag against her chair as she walked in and headed straight for the first row. As the teacher spoke, Zoe sat directly in front of him, nodding as he spoke. ”Sir, can we use our own instruments?” she asked as she pulled out a somewhat large instrument case and revealing a saxophone within as she opened it. The girl beamed brightly at the music professor, nodding along to the red head's question. "Yes, have you prepared sheet music for us?"

((OOC: This seems so fun! Sorry if it seems like I'm making Kyou get involved in everything lately -.___-.))
Kyou walked into the classroom, looking up at the board as he read what was written. "Choose and instrument...? Well, I'm not very good at artsy things, and though I've never played instruments much, this is a different matter than art. Music is similar to math, and though I'm no genius in mathematics, I'm sure that I could figure out the combinations and keys or other notes that would make a good harmony. But, let's see... I have no idea what I'd be good at. The piano is slightly set off from the other seats, since the piano's mass requires it be separated from the others... I'll try that." He walked over to the piano. "Mr. Matthews, sir? Is this piano occupied by another student?"

"Hi hi~ Welcome to band class at your high school! I'm Mr. Matthews, your band teacher."
Varus raised a eyebrow as he scanned the various instruments. Percussion was already taken (a shame since it seemed like one of the easiest), a girl pulled out her saxophone, and some guy asked about a piano. That left the other woodwinds, a few stringed instruments, and the entirety of the brass section. He didn't want to be some dork on a clarinet or flute (he made fun of those people) and too many douchebags played guitar. Violin and tuba were also out of the question, but a trombone or trumpet was possible. His dad always said that he had too much of a mouth on him.
He walked toward the back and grabbed the trombone, seconding Sarah's question.
"Yeah was this class intended for beginners, intermediates...? I can't really read this stuff so..."

Namina entered the room, and looked at the sign, "sit down at an instrument of your choice". Namina went over to the Bass (Assuming there's one) and plugged the amp chord into it, Namina really hoped she didn't mess up in front of anyone, but then again she is pretty good at playing the Bass. Namina saw Zoe from the library, Sarah from the roof , a small kid, and a guy with blonde hair.

Sage smiles as he's deciding to actually go to a class for once. Well, he's a big fan of the drums and life has been pretty boring lately. Today he is wearing a light pink long sleeved shirt with a brown vest over it. It goes pretty well with the tan pants he is wearing.
Walking into the room he sees a few students already in there. There's also a girl already by the percussion instruments, but it seems she is just using the triangle. He walks over to the percussion area and sits at the full drum set. Taking a set of drum sticks he starts to twirl them in his hand, like he usually does with a knife. From there he just sits and waits for the class to start, wondering if it will cure his boredom

Asch had been wandering around the school as of late, with no particular purpose. You could even say he was loitering, even though he was technically a student. As he passed by the music room, he poked his head into the classroom and looked around. "I guess this class hasn't started yet?" he asked, looking around. He figured he may as well take a look around, maybe even stay in the class if he found interest in it. He didn't care if he was actually assigned to the class or not (he didn't know his own schedule and didn't care to look for the paper he'd been given before arriving at the school). He noticed a red-headed girl and sat next to her, winking. "Hey, girlie. What's your name? I'm Asch."

"Read music?" Brian smiled bright and strung a low cord on his guitar, turning up the volume on his amp so it would make the ears of anyone too close ring. The teacher didn't mind as he was used to the sound of overly loud music. "Who needs to do that when we have creativity?~" He flipped his hair, taking sheets of music he'd received from the school, and ripped the right in half before shoving them in a trash can next to his desk. "I want all of you to rip your sheet music as well or you fail this class."
"Now," He clapped his hands together. "for the rest of your questions." Brian pointed to Zoe. "You may! I'm so glad to see other musically-inclined students."
Now to Kyou. "That piano is wiiide open, take a seat."
Brian now pointed at Varus. "Beginners, experts, who cares. Everyone starts and plays music somewhere."
"I know you might be thinking. Well shit, Mr. Matthews, I don't knowing a thing about playing any damned instruments." He leaned back a little, putting a hand over his forehead, in an overly-dramatic fashion. "But!" Brian stood up again and tapped the string in the front of his guitar. "It doesn't matter what the music sounds like. It could make everyone want to rip their ears off, or sound as graceful as an angel, so long as your playing from your heart than it doesn't matter."
"Now, if you're just playing because you have to-" Brian, making sure not to tangle the guitar cord around his feet, brought out his pointer stick from the edge of the chalkboard and smacked it loudly on his desk. It made a loud cracking noise that would echo throughout the room. "Automatic failure!" He set the stick back down and smiled, heading back to his spot behind the stand in the front of the room.
"So now that we've covered the basic rules... Do we have any singers in here? I always love to here voices. If not, let's begin by going around the room and introducing ourselves. Not enough teachers do that around here but I deem it necessary. State your name, where you're from, why you chose the instrument you have... Be honest... and what music means to you. I'll go first." Brian adjusted his glasses before clearing his throat and speaking.
"My name's Brian Matthews. I'm from New York itself, more specifically, Niagara Falls. I chose the electric guitar because it's what I played in my band. Music to me is a fiery passion ignited in my soul, that will never die out, and life's very structure!" He gasped dramatically and held both hands over his heart while speaking, yellow-green eyes dancing with excitement. Brian waved for the students to go ahead and speak for themselves.

Asch watched the teacher rip up the music sheets and listened to his speech, smiling. He liked the guy already.
Asch smirked, deciding to speak up. "My name's Asch. That's all you need to know about my name. I'm from Virginia, I chose the uh..." He glanced at the instrument he had sat in front of, not knowing that he was supposed to play the instrument, but rather, simply wanting to sit next to the red-headed girl. "I chose the whatever this one's called--the flute--yeah, I think that's what it's called, because I wanted to sit next to girlie over here. I could, of course, change seats...."

Kyou listened to the teacher as he spoke, his eyes widening at what he said. "Rip up the music sheet or I'll fail the class?" His eyes widened and he stared down at the music sheets that were on the piano. He gingerly took them into his hands and looked at the papers--studying the positions of the notes and their appearances, how they looked, whether they were accompanied by a tail or not, colored in or not... He read the titles of the songs, looking sadly at them. "Rip them up? What a horrible thing to do! But if I want to pass the class, I have to... But it was a waste! A perfectly horrible waste of perfectly good music! Someone had put so much effort into writing it--translating their passion and the melodies in their head onto paper in a complex language of notes and bars and other symbols..." He closed his eyes tightly and ripped the papers in half in one movement, sighing and then throwing the papers in the recycle bin. He returned to his seat, sighing.
Then the teacher talked about not needing music sheets, and just trying to be creative! As if. Kyou didn't have a creative bone in his body... He would have been better off saving the sheets of music, but he didn't think on it too much.
He listened as the teacher continued to ramble on, but Kyou listened intently. He gave the absolute faintest of smiles as the teacher went on giving instructions. He listened to the last order: talk about yourself to the class. "This guy's is a lot nicer than that other teacher I had... I think I might like this class. Hopefully I won't cause any problems," he thought. "Name, where I'm from, which instrument I chose and why, and what music means to me...? Oh... kuso. Yeah right. 'Hi! My name's Kyou Kobayashi and I'm a runaway experiment failure from Japan! I chose the piano because I'm a nerd and I don't really know anything about music, so it really doesn't mean anything to me!' AS IF." He listened and waited until it was his turn to speak, and he fidgeted with his glasses. "Um... my name's Kyou Kobayashi... I-I uh... I'm from Nihon.... and... I chose the piano because it seemed like it'd be the easiest, and uh... music doesn't mean that much to me personally..."

"Huh? Oh uhm... I'm Sarah," She said to the boy who had approached her. He was a bit attractive and had a matching type of hair. She made a mental reminder that this is probably what should would look like if she went on testosterone or something. She gave a small smile before turning her attention back to the teacher who instructed them to tear up their music. She grabbed hers and simply tore the booklet while it was closed and tossing both halves over her shoulders. She listened still as he explained more.
Asch huh? Noted.
"I'm Sarah, and I chose this instrument because I'm kind of musically inept and it seemed easy and uh, Asch? You just go ahead and stay where you are. I enjoy the view." She would give more of a grin and shoot him a wink. "For anyone who cares, by the way, I'm from Kentucky."

Varus raised a brow after his question was answered, placing his fingers on the handle and softly test-blowing the instrument. His lips fit fine, but he seemed to produce only one deep sound. How did anyone produce different sounds from this thing? From his understanding, you were supposed to slide the handle different lengths to get various sounds but the sheet music provided little to no understanding of how it was supposed to work.
"Huh? Oh uhm... I'm Sarah."
Why did that girl seem so familiar. Had he met her before?
Taking his mouth off the instrument he decided to introduce himself next. He hated these sorts of icebreakers but supposed they were necessary to work together.
"Varus Williams. I'm from California. I chose this because I didn't like any of the other instruments," he paused for a moment before continuing, "I guess music means expressing yourself and finding other people who like your sound."

Sage sighed as he listens to the teacher. He can sing... but why the hell would he tell him that. Anyways when it's his turn to speak, he stays seated and smiles cutely. "My name is Sage and I'm from New York. I picked the drums because they remind me of stabbing people. I like music because it's a way of expressing yourself." Sage tilts his head when he's done. Well he just said what was true, even if a bit morbid.
