The streets of New York were a haven for crime and debauchery. This is something she knew all to well. How many times had she been attacked just walking home? How many times has the city been set ablaze by the villains that operate it? How many innocents will be lost to these streets bathed in blood? Many thoughts and others like this ran through this girl's mind as she leaped from the top of one building and rolled as she landed on the other. Parkour was something she was surprising good at and could use to her advantage as she combed this city.
Raina was tired of being afraid as she left for home. Tired of the memories of the attacks on here, the fear, the high cost of just being a girl in this town. Just because she was walking home she lost three weeks of her life, and her eye color, her social status, everything she knew was gone because of that one night. It was raining that night which is not something to bother her. She and the rain shared a loving relationship, it is the sole reason for her name. She hadn't heard about this being gang territory or even at the assaults on women in this area. She was just walking home from the AURA initiation. She was just being a bystander in the area, not seeking trouble, or anything like that, and they still chose to attack her. To try and rape her. The memories of that day are still blurred. She remembers parts of the fight. She remembers Shugo saving her, but yet he hasn't even spoken to her since. But the rest of it is a blur. She refused for another girl to go through that again.
So she started training. Improving her fighting skills and even took up Parkour. Not that she was a master at but she was getting pretty good. She didn't know how to make the streets cleaner though or even where to start, untill she remembered someone from a past not so far, but unreachable from her grasps. The girl in the catsuit at the banquet. Raina needed a costume. She went and bought a leather black one piece suit and fishnet stockings and even made a black mask to cover her eyes just enough where they seem normal. Her hair maybe a problem. A lot of women don't have her hair color. She chose a blonde wig to conceal her hair. She was ready. Like an angel flying into hell she had her mission. To destroy the evil in this town and save her city. She is the Avenging Angel. No longer a demon possessed but a force of light and life.
So this is what brought her out on this day. Her vow and will to stop the evils committed here. Her start didn't last long.
A loud scream came from one of the alleyways below her and she knew she had to make her move. She saw a middle age woman being chased by a bunch of thugs trying to rob her. The woman then tripped and fell to the ground. "Damnit." Raina muttered as she attacked a metallic clench to a sturdy piece of the roof before using a curtain like thing to swing down from the roof. She landed behind a dumpster quite gracefully without being noticed. There had to be at least twenty thugs here after that lady. What did she do?
"We told you if you didn't pay us the money, Ruth, we would take it from you one way or another. We told you it would ten grand to keep your little shop "safe", and how do you repay us? You buy a gun and point it at us. Well, you are gonna wish that you actually had bullets for it." One of the thugs said to the woman, obviously known as Ruth.
"Please! I don't that kind of money! Leave me alone! Someone help!" Ruth called out before one of the thugs slapped her hard. Raina walked out from behind the dumpster a completely different woman. She's not the sweet and shy Raina Scylar. She is the Angel of Vengeance, the Avenging Angel. One thug turned around quickly at the sounds of her heels. She quickly dispatched him with a swift kick to his face. The man fell to the ground with a thud and didn't move.
"Didn't anyone teach you gentlemen, it is not nice to hit a lady?" She said as she placed her hands on her hips and flipped her hair back. She could tell the men were ogling her body a little. Honestly, she would be worried if they didn't. "Now come on boys, can't we settle this nicely? Or do we have to get rough? I don't mind rough, but I'll let you guys have it yourway." She said as she blew a little kiss at them just to set them off.
"Who is this bitch? Lady are you for real? This isn't Halloween, sweetheart. But if you want, we can say it's Christmas and you can sit on daddy's lap." The man continued as the group laughed rowdy and obnoxious like. Raina smirked and walked up to man and planted a kiss on his cheek for sucker punching him in the stomach.
"I.... I can't... move." He said after he fell to the ground. Raina smiled again and said. "Did I forget to mention? My lipstick has a paralyzing agent in it, something only a skilled medic would know how to use safely. You'll be fine in a few hours. But that's plenty of time for the cops to come get you. Now, who else wants to play?" She said as she blew a kiss at the rest. One by one the men would charge her. "Lady, there are eighteen of us still standing are you sure you want to fuck with us?" A big behemoth of a man said.
"Sweetie, there is only eighteen of you left, are you sure you want to fuck with me?" She said as the man charged her. She leaped on to his shoulders and dug her knee into the back of his head causing the man to crumble to the ground before she knocked him out with a swift kick to the face. "Scissor Kick, what you boys think?" She giggled as she flipped her hair back. The thugs just looked at her with their jaws dropped. "Who the hell are you, lady!" One of the thugs called out.
Raina struck a magical girl-like pose and spoke with confidence. "I am the protector of the innocent and defender of love and justice! I am the Angel in a town full of darkness and evil. I am the Avenging Angel." She said. Three of the thugs ran at quickly. Raina grabbed some needles from a pack on her legs and threw them at their necks. The men quickly fell to the ground. "This is what happens when interrupt me!" She said as she backed up a little as the other thugs walked towards her. She was surrounded. Something clicked her mind as she saw the wall behind her. Raina ran up the wall and flipped over thugs with such grace. They gasped and stared in awe as her scantily clad form flew over top of them. "Now boys, staring is rude remember? She said with a grin as they charged at her. Her body froze for just a second. This was some reminiscent of the fight that changed everything. She couldn't lose here! She refused this fate!
She held out her adorned with a ruby clad bangle and called out, "Flames of Wraith come to me!" Her hand instantly caught ablaze and made the thugs scream out. "What the hell kind of woman is this! She's no angel! She's a demon!" One called out. "Why does everyone always go there?" She said walking up to them with her hand still on fire. "Hand of Faith!" She yells out as she sucker punches the closest thug with her flaming fist. The man flew down and hit the ground with a huge burn mark on his face. "Well, I believe his sins have been cleansed for now." She said shrugging her shoulders as she jumped back into with the other thugs. Is this her new fate? Was she nothing but a costumed vigilante now? A mere thug like these men here? No! She had to be better, she was saving lives! She threw a fast punch at another thug and watched him go down. One by one one these men went down until the scariest looking thug remained. He had oddly remained still as she fought with the other men.
"So, it's just us now. I recommend you give up, I would rather not fight you, but I'm pretty good at it, if that is the way you want it. But if you surrender, I promise not to hurt you." She said as she winked. The man walked a little towards her and smirked. "You know, you fight like a girl that got lucky a few weeks back. If wasn't for her little lover boy, I would of made her my bitch. Your not hiding pink hair are you?"
Raina gasped so slightly that it was almost impossible for him to notice. Then she saw it. His face. He was the same thug she kicked in the groin back at the pier. She could not take him down like this. She pulled off her wig and mask and exposed her glowing crimson eyes. "Yes, I am the girl you say got lucky. I wouldn't say I was lucky. You caused my eyes to do this!" She belted out as the intensity of her eyes became a flame like radiance. She quickly sprinted towards him with an unrivaled strength. The man was shocked at the quickness of her rage and the flame of her eyes. He tried to dodge her attacks but her speed matched his. All he could do was throw punches. Raina took a strong punch to her shoulder that caused her stumble back.
"You are not very focused are you girly?" He said as he smiled at her manically. Raina flipped and threw a kick towards the man and sent him flying into the ground. "I'm not as disciplined as some fighters but I have the dexterity of some of the best. Do you still wanna mess with me, chump?" She said as she flipped her hair back, as her eyes returned to their pearl like color. The man picked him self up and wiped the blood from his lip and growled as the girl. "You know, I was going to make you my bitch, even let you ride my big hog. But I don't think you'll be doing much of anything except choking on dirt soon." He said.
"Oh it's big huh? Prove it." She said smirking a little. She didn't know why she was being so confident and almost bitchy. But she knew this man would not do another thing to hurt her. He screamed and charged at her and came into contact with her strong right hook, knocking him out cold. Raina called the cops after making sure she tied everyone up and went back to Ruth. "Here, take this. It is some cash to hire an actual body guard for your store. Just please don't tell anyone who I am." She said before climbing up the curtain she had used to lower herself down and took off towards her school. The woman was shocked at the money this girl had given her but eternally grateful. She made sure she told others about the Avenging Angel, the defender of Love and Justice, who had changed her life forever. Raina on the other hand, returned to her school and rested at the nearby dorms. She was so tired and bruised from her encounter but was quite happy with the outcome. She knew this is something she needs to do. If its the only thing she can do.
