"My Lumiere. What's the matter?" She embraced her sister, and Umbra looked at her with tears in her eyes. "Mom and Dad... they're saying those awful things to Kaiser again." Bianca held her sister close, glancing up at the stairs out of the basement as she could hear the shouting. Nero must have taken the slack up for something that Umbra did, as he was being shouted at and he was remaining silent himself. "You're nothing but demon children! You're freaks! No one will ever love you!" She could hear those cruel words coming down the stairs, and she brought her hands up to her sister's face, wiping away Umbra's tears. "It'll all be okay someday, my Lumiere... I promise..." Bianca once again found herself at Nero's home, knocking on his door loudly. It had been weeks since she had seen or heard from him, and the more that time passed by, the more she began to worry that the rumors surrounding his death were true. Her brother, the invincible Kaiser, dead? It was laughable at best. No one could kill Kaiser. No one... "Nero?! Open up! C'mon, man! This isn't funny anymore!" She tried the door, finding it unlocked. Curiously, she opened it slowly and peeked inside. What she saw shocked her. The place looked ransacked. Furniture thrown around, wallpaper and holes in the wall. Wherever a wall remained, there was spray paint tagged 'THE KING IS DEAD' and 'RIOT IS NEXT'. "Nero...?" Bianca walked inside, glancing around the apartment and taking all of the destruction in. Nothing was left untouched. The bed was torn apart, the walls looked as though sledgehammers had been taken to them, and every personal belonging in sight was torn asunder or shattered. She checked every single room, unsuccessful in finding her brother in any of them. "Where are you, Nero...?" She felt glass crunch beneath her foot, and she took a step back to see she had stepped on a picture frame. Kneeling down, she carefully picked the picture out of the shards, seeing it was a picture of her and Kaiser, only their faces were scratched out. "Come on, brooo! We did it! We took this gang over for ourselves! So cheer up!" Reine was standing side by side with Kaiser as the now dead gang boss was laying at their feet. They were no longer mere pawns for a lowly gang. They were going to rule this gang, and bring them up to rule the streets. "As incompetent as he was... he was still our friend." Kaiser's blood blade retreated back under his skin as he tore a piece of his shirt off, wrapping a makeshift tourniquet around his wrist so that he didn't bleed. "It never leaves a good taste in my mouth to slay a friend, even if he was asking for it." Kaiser turned around, looking at the scared eyes of the other gang members, who Kaiser and Reine had previously beat down in an attempt to get to the leader. "Listen up! From here on out, you're all under new management! Sev here was only leading us into ruin. From now on, we're going to rule this city as Kings! All you need to do is follow me, and I'll make sure we get there!" Kaiser spoke, and the gang, reluctant at first, began to cheer. Reine smiled and pulled out a camera, pulling Kaiser close. "This moment's special! Say cheese, bro!" She snapped the picture, and the two of them kept it as a reminder of the day they decided that they would ascend to greatness, rather than be mere pawns in a game of life. They would lead the Kings for a year, before Riot came into the picture... "...I never liked this photo anyway..." She muttered under her breath and she dropped it back to the ground. It more or less reminded her of the predicament that she was in. Kaiser... Nero wasn't here. He really wasn't. Maybe he really was dead... No... I can't allow myself to believe that. I can't have lost both Nero and Umbra... She clenched her fists tightly, until she was to the point of bleeding. She was shaking. She was angry and lost. She was all alone now, wasn't she? Nero... "Well, well... I thought I saw a stray bitch walk in here." Hearing a voice boom out, Bianca turned towards the door to see a man standing there. He was one of the men who was a part of the Kings a year ago, Bianca's eyes widened as she recognized him. "Now that your brother is gone... you're next." |
