A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

[OoC: Lock your stats in your first post. The stats you begin the tournament with are the stats you will end the tournament with. No items of any kind, and no Qi allowed. Participants must post within 24 hours of each other. Failure to do so leads to disqualification. If there is no clear winner within five days of the fight being posted, it will be decided by Staff through a grading rubric. This is a no holds barred fight, so if you feel the need to break some limbs, you go ahead and break some limbs. Post your entrance in the first round, and go ahead and start fighting as soon as you like. Let's get crackin'.]
After the last round, the winners would be given time to recover from any wounds they may have had. Roughly an hour after the first fight, the two victors would both be brought to yet another large, bright room. There were six two-inch steps leading down to the chamber, and at the center was a cage that had the exact same dimensions as the first one. The difference here was this cage was lined with barbed wire from top to bottom.
"Iiiiiiin the red corner, the fierce little shit who won by forfeit in the last round, VARUUUUUUUUUUUUUS WILLIAAAAAAMS!!!" The crowd cheered as Varus' door was opened and he'd be escorted to the cage. "Iiiiiin the blue corner, Asian Gigantor who went ham on Lizzy the Lezzy, KEEENJIIII MIYAMOOOTOOOOOOOO!" Once more, the crowd would cheer as Kenji was led to the cage, though his applause seemed much more... aggressive. "Alright you little bastards, this ain't over till one of you taps or just can't get back up. IT'S TIIIIME FOR THE BAAAAREKNUUUUUCKLE BEEAAATDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!"
The announcer stepped back to the edge of the cage and pressed a button on his collar, and water began to pour into the chamber. It wouldn't take long to fill up about a foot, where it halted.

Kenji could make out the difference in the crowd's fervor when he was announced. It seemed as if he was the favorite for this match. He didn't know why; he wasn't exactly a very assuming young man, or one that visibly stood out, height notwithstanding. The announcer certainly liked pointing out that fact, not that it affected the easterner much. After all, he was pretty big. Infact, he had half a foot on his next opponent, who he could swear to have glimpsed during the Riot incidents, but hadn't interacted with him. Still, a match was a match, and he was looking forward to a good second fight, even as the water poured in. "Nice to meet you, Williams. Seems like we'll be getting wet today, huh?" Kenji chuckled, then took up his immovable stance. "Let's have a good fight."

"Iiiiiiin the red corner, the fierce little shit who won by forfeit in the last round, VARUUUUUUUUUUUUUS WILLIAAAAAAMS!!!"
Well, he could see where he wasn't wanted. Varus entered the barbwire cage, taking care not to get pricked by anything as he faced the opponent. From what it seemed, Kenji had a much more exciting fight than he did and it made him somewhat jealous. His previous fight felt a bit...unsatisfactory. It was mostly just him trying to run around after Hiroshi drew first blood (clearly Varus's speech about fighting scared the little man off), but he hoped that it wouldn't be the case this round.
Water began pouring in, which caused Varus's lips to twitch and his hat's "dry clean only" label to vibrate in fear. It was quite the fashionable garment. He'd hate to see it go in such a...undignified manner.
"Not too wet I hope," he replied, "unless it's with blood."
In response to Kenji's solid stance, his footwork became more rhythmic, resembling the ginga he'd learned a year ago. He had a feeling he'd be making the first move so why not give his legs a bit of freedom?
With his arms switching back and forth he decided to strike with a right hook toward Kenji's right side. He kept his other arm ready to block, but was ready to strike again if need be. ooc: stats lock in STR: 17 - DEX: 20 - CON: 15 - WIS: 20 - INT: 17

Kenji held his ground and kept his eyes fixed on Varus. Not on any one part or area of his body, but all that he could see. Breathing calmly, he held fast as the young man came at him with movements resembling the ginga oft used with capoeira. Deft footwork, but Kenji imagined that the longer he moved like that in this water, the more energy he might exert.
The first attack was launched from his right side, as Varus threw a right hook while keeping the left back. Given Kenji's stance, his right arm was already tucked in at his side, ready and waiting for action, which seemed to already be coming. But enough fluff. In what was effectively a single, fluid movement of his upper body, his right fist twisted a quarter toward the left as the arm came up to parry away Varus's hook, and his left open palm condensing into a palm-heel that he snapped and thrusted right and dead center at his adversary's chest, his torso turning slightly to the right to accomodate both his defensive and offensive attacks. Throughout this single upper bodily movement, his lower body remained stationary and rooted.
(( OOC: Totally unrelated, but Chrome's autocorrect offers Capote as an alternative for capoeira. I don't know why, but I chuckled. ))

What happens when a totally stoppable force meets an immovable object? Well usually the one with more push wins.
Despite predicting the block, Varus wasn't prepared for the palm strike toward his chest and barely moved in time to block most of the resulting force. His left forearm took the brunt of the hit, but his unsteady footing meant that Varus was knocked back.
"You haven't taken one step yet you're already more exciting than that last guy," he laughed, landing in a crabwalk, sans the blocking arm.
He sprang to a crouch, still energetic as ever as he spun back into a sweep. It aimed for Kenji's forward leg, which (if successful) could force Kenji to move.

(( OOC: I conferred with three separate staff about the sweep's effects; the consensus in regards to both our stats and the water was not so much damage and some hindrance. This is reflected in my post. ))
Kenji's opponent had a refreshing attitude, laughing in the midst of battle as Varus showed commendable energy and eagerness, to which Kenji returned a chuckle. As the boy shifted from the crabwalk he landed in to a crouch, the easterner too settled back into his upper body's starting position, watching closely. The approach came, and he was ready, bracing his forward leg to receive his enemy's sweep. The water took its toll on the attack's force, and coupled with Kenji's solid stance and brace, though he felt a bump on his leg, it was far from debilitating; he had tanked the impact.
As soon as he was hit, Kenji snapped his rear leg out of the water and forward at Varus's body, intending to hit whatever body part he could with a hard front kick. Given the crouching posture he was in, it was possible, though not intentional, that Kenji might make contact with his head. Whatever the result, he'd drop his foot back into the water and onto solid ground to reassume his stance in reverse.

When he felt his leg drag against the water he knew he was done for. It slowed his momentum too much to make an impact against Kenji and (in the interest of verbal irony) left the rest of his body out to dry. Actually that might not have been verbal irony, but Varus was never one to ponder the proper usage of such terms...namely because he felt a foot collide with his throat.
He fell flat on his back, briefing submerging in the water before slowly standing in a guarded position with his legs spread and his arms covering his face and torso. He was struggling to breathe, but he wouldn't let that be a hindrance to the fight or his chances of winning. He needed to get his bearings back before Kenji decided to go on the offensive.
"So, is that how you won your last match?" he rasped, "standing around and kicking them away whenever they got too close?"

Kenji managed to reassert his stance without trouble, closely observing Varus as he practically flopped onto his back in the water. When he rose without incident and managed a defensive posture, it was clear to Kenji that he had the momentum. Now if he didn't make any arrogant moves or overextend his reach, he could launch a solid offense to keep Varus on the ropes.
The irony came as the dark-skinned boy started to inquire as to his method of victory. As he came toward the end about kicking enemies away, Kenji struck fast. With Varus within arm's reach and the easterner's advantage in height and reach, he shot the left fist at his left hip out in a low underhanded straight punch, aiming for his adversary's stomach just under his guarding arms. At the slightest indication of Varus's arm or arms moving down to intercept his attack, he'd pull the punch and thrust forth his right hand in a palm strike at the young man's head, intent on plowing into his nose or chin, whichever was more exposed by his shift in guard; if neither was more exposed than the other, his target would instead be the temple.

"Participants must post within 24 hours of each other. Failure to do so leads to disqualification."
The time since Varus' last post has exceeded 24 hours (May 13, 2015 at 1:15pm AZ time). Kenji moves onto the final round by default. Both participants receive +1 Exp for the fight.
