[OoC: Lock your stats in your first post. The stats you begin the tournament with are the stats you will end the tournament with. No items of any kind, and no Qi allowed. Participants must post within 24 hours of each other. Failure to do so leads to disqualification. If there is no clear winner within five days of the fight being posted, it will be decided by Staff through a grading rubric. This is a no holds barred fight, so if you feel the need to break some limbs, you go ahead and break some limbs. Post your entrance in the first round, and go ahead and start fighting as soon as you like. Let's get crackin'.] At the end of round two, Kenji and Sarah would be given an hour of rest and medical care - Sarah moreso than Kenji - so that by the time the final round started, both parties would be able to perform at their best, or close to it. When the two were finally taken to the doors leading to the final arena, they would see a grid-like plain before them (Sarah would be on the middle of the right side of Quadrant IV, and Kenji would be in the middle of the bottom side of Quadrant IV). The quadrant they were on (Again, Quadrant IV) was flat, at ground level, and the ground would feel... swampy. Dirty, uncomfortable and slippery, hard to gain a footing on. Quadrants I and III would be three feet above ground level (going up like a large step rather than a slope), and from what they could tell, those quadrants, along with the one they were on, were covered with trees to use as cover and support, but also incredibly muddy. Quadrant II was a whole six feet above ground level (three feet above Quadrants I and III), and it was a grassy plain with a pond surrounded by large, sharp rocks in the center. This pond spilled over into small canals that ran through each quadrant, down to IV, forming another pond in the very center. One thing they would both notice was that it was very hot in the area, and the humidity was staggering, to say the least. (Note:: Each quadrant is ten yards on all sides. (Meaning each is a 10 yard cube, making the whole arena a 20 yard cube.)) A couple of seconds after the two stepped out onto the arena, large monitors on the top of the chamber would flicker on and the announcer's face would appear on the screen. "Llllllaaadies and gentlemen, the fight you've all been waiting for! We have the large Asian man who keeps winning fights because his opponents just won't fight back, KENJIII MIYAMOOTOOOOO!" The crowd was filled with a mixture of cheers and boos as his name was called. "Versus the incredibly deadly diva, this lady isn't afraid to get down and dirty, and bloody while we're at it, SARAAAAH CREEEESTWEEEEEEEELL!" Sarah's name brought out a monstrous roar from the crowd, and it seemed she had their favor from the get-go. "Now as you all can see, this particular arena is a biiiit different from the last two. Let's mix it up! Make shit fun! LET'S MAKE THIS LAST ROUND EXCITING, YEAH?!?! IT'S TIME FOR THE FINALE TO THE BAREKNUCKLE BEATDOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!"

Give it up, girly. I'm not worth all this...
"Yes you are..."
"What was that?" The medical professional asked as Sarah looked up at them, giving a slight shake of her head to let her know that Sarah had only been talking to herself. The voice of her late mother had been ringing in her head as she continued to look for the answers that she was after. She grinned as she looked down at the collection of stitches, the sting of the alcohol, the look of the person's face who clearly wasn't expecting to get fighters in this sort of shape.
If you die, then what? What happens then?
Sarah continued speaking under her breath, "Same thing when you died mom. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. But plenty will happen when I have my answer." She put on the torn Sport's Bra which had been set on a heater to dry out. Her yoga pants which had been torn to shreds around the knees were placed there as well, practically shorts now. She redid the tape around her knuckles, working around the stitches in her hands before taping up her ankles again.
She stepped out and made her way into the arena. The hour had been spent mostly in trying to settle herself down, drink clean water, and remind herself that she was alive. She thought about texting Macht but she decided to wait, she didn't want to tell him if he would stop this next match or if he would be disappointed if she had lost. Instead, she would wear her stitches like trophies if she had won so that she could completely take him away with the news.
Her feet felt a little gross as the liquid squished a bit between her toes where the tape hadn't been covering. "Ew..."
"Llllllaaadies and gentlemen, the fight you've all been waiting for! We have the large Asian man who keeps winning fights because his opponents just won't fight back, KENJIII MIYAMOOTOOOOO!"
Her head shot up as she saw who her opponent was and she readied herself mentally. How was she supposed to fight against Kenji like that? How was she supposed to go up against him in the way that she had Sebastian? Would he be able to do that? And then she suddenly felt a tinge of guilt as her own introduction rang out.
"Versus the incredibly deadly diva, this lady isn't afraid to get down and dirty, and bloody while we're at it, SARAAAAH CREEEESTWEEEEEEEELL!"
Sarah looked around as the monstrous roar filled the arena. She couldn't hardly hear through it and that was impressive. She hadn't seen Kenji's fights but it sounded like he had an easy go of it. Judging by Sarah's appearance and her introduction Kenji might be able to tell that Sarah's luck had not been so great. Her first match went without a hitch at all but it was really her second match that left her feeling like she was on the losing end of a wrestling match with a running chainsaw.
Sarah would walk forward slowly, and extend her right fist. "Good luck, Kenji." Now wasn't really the time to chat, after all. She left it there for a fist bump if he would be so kind to indulge her. Only then would she take a few steps back and make a mad dash for the muddy terrain just three feet higher in quadrant 3, jumping up and sliding along the mud slightly as she would dip and dive in some of the trees. Sarah got some good footing on the roots of a larger tree before turning and putting herself into a crouched stance, waiting for her opponent to catch up.

In the interim between the matches, Kenji was able to take a gentle reprieve. However, instead of relaxing, he spent the time preparing himself both physically and mentally after having his condition looked to by the medical staff. In the event that he'd gotten his clothes ripped or bloodstained, he'd had the good sense to bring a couple extra sets of clothing in his pack; an identical set to what he was wearing, as well as a blue spandex shirt with long sleeves and a pair of black nylon running tights in case both got stained up. Given the fact that the second arena had been full of water, the final match could be more complex than that, so it seemed ideal to switch into the tactically-superior garb. As for his footwear, his current boots were fine; as a pair of Danner kinetic GTXes, they were as waterproof as they could get. Once he was comfortable in his fresh clothes and had stored his used clothing away, Kenji found a quiet place in the area to sit down, fold his legs in, and meditate. Win or lose, he wanted to give his final opponent his full potential. It was only fair, after all. Due to his tactics in his first match with Bianca, and the brief second match with Varus, his energy was able to quickly return, assisted by his growing mental clarity and focus. When Kenji was sought after to come to the final arena, he was ready, both in body and in mind. Off he went with the handler, collecting his thoughts. He was not expecting the chaotic game of four-square that was the last match's "arena." More like a wilderness sampler, really. A swampland in the bottom layer, two sections three feet up that were muddy but rife with trees, and the last one another three feet up that was grass with a rock-protected pond at the top. This was going to be an interesting match for certain. "Llllllaaadies and gentlemen, the fight you've all been waiting for! We have the large Asian man who keeps winning fights because his opponents just won't fight back, KENJIII MIYAMOOTOOOOO!"Kenji restrained himself from commenting. The boos in the crowd of cheers didn't bother him, but the idea that his only means of victory was for the enemy to give up was patently untrue for one, and disappointingly untrue for two. As his adversary was announced, he first glanced over at her in surprise, then in amusement. "Versus the incredibly deadly diva, this lady isn't afraid to get down and dirty, and bloody while we're at it, SARAAAAH CREEEESTWEEEEEEEELL!"The easterner had heard that the matchup between Sarah, Sebastian, and Marcelis - the only one of the three unknown to him - ended in a brutal, bloody finish. Though Kenji would never admit it, the idea that these fights could become even partly as dangerous as some of the fights he'd been in back in his homeland was thrilling, but he didn't let it mess with his focus. Still, Sarah, as beaten up as she looked, was to be his opponent. Today was a day of rematches, it seemed. Kenji owed her a proper fight, and while he wouldn't beat her down as much as she was bloodied in her previous match, he would not hold back against her. "Now as you all can see, this particular arena is a biiiit different from the last two. Let's mix it up! Make shit fun! LET'S MAKE THIS LAST ROUND EXCITING, YEAH?!?! IT'S TIME FOR THE FINALE TO THE BAREKNUCKLE BEATDOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!"As the fight was declared, Kenji approached Sarah much as she approached him, and met her right fistbump with his own right, smiling. "You as well, Sarah." He matched her reverse movement, not planning to let her get very far from him unless it became apparent that such was a tactically-apparent option. When she bolted for the third quadrant, he whipped his body toward it to do the same, leaping up the three feet and dashing through to keep pace. The nylon fabric and proofing of his boots kept the mud from being a sincere obstacle as he hopped and slid along it until he reached his first tree, then ascended from the murky ground and traversed roots until he came near Sarah, about the time that she was settling into a crouched stance. The easterner knew that if he took too wide a stance, it could result in having to overplay either his offense or defense, else he'd fall into the mud, so he assumed the mysterious stance from his first match, watching Sarah attentively for her to make the first move.

"You as well, Sarah." Kenji and Sarah had been very evenly matched before and while she had gotten stronger and tougher by far she wasn't going to sit back and just believe that he hadn't done the same. After all, he had gotten this far and he looked relatively unscathed in comparison to Sarah so unless she just had a very unlucky bracket in the tournament she would be faced with a bit of a dilemma. As she took off she noted he followed behind. While she was barefoot except for the tape around her ankles he had boots, so she noted that he might move a little slower but definitely more stable as a result.
Of course that might not mean much if he's faster than me overall...
Still it seemed that he persued pretty evenly, catching up as Sarah found herself in a bit of a stalemate with the guy. They watched attentively and Sarah had to do a quick assessment of their situation, seeking some sort of tactical advantage but the truth was that there wasn't one. Slipper ground, muddy ground, wet ground, all called for caution and not throwing your movement which meant that hits wouldn't carry force and worse wouldn't carry speed.
Her hand raised up as she grabbed a low branch and would hoist up her body, a foot planting hard on the side of the tree to kick herself up into the tree itself before climbing higher and higher, jumping from the branches of the tree to the next one over. The bark against her skin provided enough friction that she didn't have to worry about slipping, but she wondered if Kenji would follow, as boots may not provide the same friction given that they wouldn't have the same give with their treads filled with slippery mud.
She would make her way in a diagonal fashion to cross from Quadrant 3 to Quadrant 1, she snap off a few branches along the way, breaking those that were too weak to carry her weight but thick enough that they could be used as weapons. Once she found a decent one she would break off the smaller offshoots from it until it was like a spear, and would find a spot to stop and turn around, watching and listening quietly for her opponent as her muddy footsteps would trail along the branches until they began to fade from drying out.
I can do this.
This arena wasn't meant for fighting, is what she decided. The second arena gave her environment and that was ultimately what had won her the fight. She would be foolish to not use the same advantage here, understanding completely that this advantage came with the sacrifice that it would be used against her just the same. Already she could feel her body sweating with the humidity, her body feeling like it could use a shower. Yet oddly, her feet felt rather cool....

(( OOC: This'll be a comparatively short post, but functional. ))
As Sarah grabbed on a branch above her head and began to climb the tree, Kenji had a sneaking suspicion what her game was: there were two muddy quadrants with trees, so perhaps she was going to lead him around, or collect natural resources to use in their fight. Bludgeoning and piercing weapons hadn't exactly been forbidden in this 'bareknuckle beatdown,' after all. Kenji glanced up to see a sturdy branch within jumping distance, and hopped up to grab it, duplicating Sarah's tactic of booting himself up onto the tree, listening to her make her escape as he did so. Shortly thereafter, he flung himself to her previous tree, then from there down to the next tree's roots.
Kenji proceeded in this fashion for a few more trees, practically skipping along the roots, and avoiding the mud. Although his boots were made to handle extreme conditions such as this, it was more ideal that he fight with Sarah on relatively solid ground. He suspected that she had this preference too, else why would she stick to the trees herself? Regardless, he continued listening carefully to his opponent moving ahead of him, until the sounds of snapping branches ceased, the makeshift marshland growing quiet once again. Kenji paused at the base of his tree and listened to the fading echoes shortly ahead of him, glancing up at something that caught his interest. Within arm's reach above him was what seemed to be a fairly sturdy branch, about the length of his katana, give or take. Deciding that it would be both prudent to acquire a weapon and remind Sarah that he was nearby, he reached up, took firm hold, and snapped it off with a sharp pull, a resounding KRAK following.
Flattening himself against the tree and out of sight, Kenji quickly plucked away any weaker branches on the tree limb, then tested its weight. It was about as balanced of a branch as he might be able to find in a pinch like this, and with it in his hands, he'd be able to utilize one of his greatest talents: swordplay. The advantage was his, but once more, he didn't let this go to his head, instead patiently hiding behind this tree and listening for his opponent. "The crowd'll get bored if we run around like this for long. Wanna meet up on the highest quadrant?" he called out, holding his ground until he received an answer, whether verbal, audible, or physical.

He followed her from the sounds and looks of it, she would look over her shoulder every chance she could to see him trrailing behind her along the lower canopy. She had her weapon ready it seemed but he grabbed his own, alerting her to his location as he held the thin long branch. He hid and she kept her eyes at his last location, this was a different situation than before, a straight up fight wasn't suggested by the landscape. She was really curious why this was done rather than a traditional ring.
"The crowd'll get bored if we run around like this for long. Wanna meet up on the highest quadrant?"
And with that she had his location. Her foot steps were light, barefoot and unseen she was able to walk along the sturdy branches without disrupting any of the foliage to alert her location. She breathed very quietly and crouched down. This was her one chance to really use all the information afforded to her and make some kind of plan.
He has a branch, I have a branch. I don't know if he's any good with that thing and to be honest I don't know if I'M any good with THIS thing. It's not heavy enough to act as a spear and it's probably only going to be as strong as I can heave it.
She thought of another use for the branch as she launched it into the air in a direction that would hopefully be out of Kenji's sight. The branch passed through a few trees heading in the direction of the higher quadrant. It would be a signal of sorts, a sound that she was heading in that direction. When the truth was she was perched high and hiding, remaining quiet, her eyes on where the sound of his voice came from.

Silence fell upon the battleground again, save for those talking in the audience. Kenji held his post, listening, waiting... Then he heard it: the sound of something starting to move through the branches. Ever slightly he peered around the tree, enough to see the movement in the trees, but it was an insignificant movement. Not a person, but most likely an object, since Kenji highly doubted there were animals in any of these quadrants. What this object was, he couldn't say, but judging from the disturbance it caused as it flew, and the lack of sound being inflicted from stepping on branches or kicking off of trees, he was certain that it wasn't Sarah.
This old trick wasn't something Kenji hadn't seen or performed himself before. A decoy; throwing something to make sound in order to attract somebody to or away from a spot, in order to either bypass them, or ambush them. Indeed, once he put the auditory and visual information together, it made sense: Sarah was trying to deceive him.
If that was the game they were playing, Kenji would oblige her.
Kenji withdrew his head back behind the tree, then looked down by his feet. There was a fallen branch, not as sturdy as the one in his hand, but enough that it should fly a short distance. He quickly picked it up, tested its weight briefly, then pitched it in the direction that he heard the unidentified object fly in as if it were a javelin, sailing through a couple of trees on its way toward the higher quad. He once more flattened himself against the tree and listened carefully once more, waiting to see if Sarah took his counterbait, or if she'd realize that he picked up on her clever ruse.

Given that Sarah knew his location and had her eyes fixed upon it, she may not have seen him directly but when the branch went flying she put two and two together, understanding that he had in fact done the same motion that she had. So that wasn't going to work then, she would have to rethink a way to draw him out or abandon this particular course of action altogether. She wanted a fight in the end, she wanted to teeth and blood and fists and... and that wasn't what this arena suggested at all. With the exception of that higher quadrant.
Those rocks are awful sharp, and the water could be used too...
Sarah took off in the direction of the higher quadrant as Kenji had originally given instructions for. As she took off through the limbs and passing from tree to tree she found that she had to leap from the tree to the quadrant and in doing so would somersault over her shoulder, her hands finding her thrown branch and Kenji's own in the same area.
Similar distances... different landing places.
She grabbed hers and left the one he threw. She would stand out in the open. "Fine, let's do this the old fashioned way. It's clear my way wasn't going to work. You're too damned smart."
She wondered how well that would have worked on Sebastian. He was very brutal but he was also a brute in terms of his style. He seemed to get angry and charge, vindictive. Of course, Sarah's foot would reach back, and gently press into the water just a little before pulling back out and flattening against the ground.
Huh, nice, especially in this heat...
It was worse here, worse here than anywhere else in the entire arena. Were they trying to sweat them out? In any case Sarah felt cool still in her feet and realized a mistake that she had made.
I can't believe it, I missed my chance! I'll have to go back and fix that if this gets too rough.

Kenji nodded to himself as he heard more movement - he was certain it was Sarah's this time - through the trees, and after giving her a couple moments, he picked up the pace by leaping into his tree and utilizing his abilities of brachiation, advancing steadily on the higher quadrant. It was during this advance that he finally recognized the humidity of the arena. Well, it wasn't so much that he hadn't recognized it at the match start, but rather hadn't paid much mind to it. Hailing from Japan, the easterner was accustomed to ridiculous levels of humidity, particularly in the summertime, so while he felt it, there was no significant issue for him yet. He wondered how Sarah dealt with this level of mugginess.
As he closed, Kenji overheard Sarah's voice, and he couldn't decide if she sounded irritated or tired. "Fine, let's do this the old fashioned way. It's clear my way wasn't going to work. You're too damned smart." He dropped out of the trees onto the edge of the quadrant just as Sarah was removing her foot from the water, hefting his sturdy branch and paying no mind to the lesser one he'd used as his counterargument in this physical debate.
"My intellect isn't relevant. I've just seen and used that tactic before," Kenji explained as he took a couple steps away from the edge and settled into a curiously open stance. His right leg forward and his left leg back, branch held firmly in his right hand at his right side that faced Sarah, tip level with the ground as the front of his body was turned toward his left. This bareknuckle beatdown was about to turn into an improvised swordfight, at least in Kenji's case.

Sarah looked at him and was reminded of a type of sword fighting that her mind wasn't telling herself the name of. It was at the tip of her tongue but she knew that the sword name was rapier, she thought to herself that he was going to try and stab her and she couldn't blame him. She had plenty of stitches across her body that would make good marks and the eyes were always open. Was he so brutal that he would do that to her though?
"My intellect isn't relevant. I've just seen and used that tactic before," She grabbed the branch with both of her hands and held it, her left hand over while the right hand was under the branch. She began to spin the branch by rolling her wrists back and forth, diagonally crossing the branch in front of her body before engaging, rolling the branch over her right wrist and bringing it slamming downward toward Kenji's right shoulder while gripped tightly in her right hand a bit further toward the other end of the branch thanks to the roll around her wrist.
Whether or not this worked of course she would follow up with a right roundhouse kick, the beauty of this was that hit or miss the water on her foot had wet the mud and the motion would sling mud toward Kenji's face at very close distance, her goal being to get mud in his eyes.

Kenji wagered that Sarah was going to try finishing this fight before her body could fatigue or before any of her stitches could bust open, implying that she would use underhanded tactics or make desperation attacks. He highly doubted that her cunning ended at creating decoy noises, so he had to expect everything or be able to improvise, the latter of which he was especially good at.
When her downward swing came, Kenji lunged toward the left, the direction that his body was facing, but also slightly toward Sarah in order to begin closing the distance, avoiding the blow entirely. The rising of her leg spoke of an oncoming kick, prompting him to duck and bow his head. The roundhouse was just out of striking range, but Kenji's ears picked up the sound of liquid - was it the mud they'd traversed to get here, or copious amounts of sweat? - flying past his head. With how he had lunged, his body was now faced more toward Sarah, and his branch was at the ready. From his lower position while the redhead's leg was yet off the ground, he committed to a rising uppercut slash, intending to strike the girl's wrists with his makeshift weapon.
If Kenji made contact, whether or not she released or changed the grip on her branch, he'd follow by sweeping a downward stroke back down at her closest knee. If his initial hit struck naught but air, he'd step back and watch for Sarah's next move, while if she instead clashed branches with him, Kenji would respond in kind to lock 'swords,' much as the warriors of old did.

As Kenji would bring that stick up Sarah's right hand was already leaving the branch, her right hand forming a fist as Kenji's stick collided with her left wrist. It stung but she pressed on, that right fist would swing out as her right foot came back down and widened her stance so that Kenji wasn't as close to her torso. Along the way that fist would be sweeping across aiming to knock him in the cheek.
As his stick came down for her knees her own branch would simultaneously swing across in her left hand to try and hit his knees out from behind him and drop him to the ground. And hit or miss her left foot would lift slightly in the pain of her knee being hit and she would stomp down toward his right ankle.

Kenji saw Sarah's right hand in his peripheral, and heard movement toward his right side, He cut the momentum of his knee attack short as he swiveled his head just beyond the full reach of Sarah's sweeping fist, receiving instead a glancing blow across the side of his neck, at the same time reversing the grip on his branch before swinging it down and back past his right leg, catching his adversary's tree limb not far from the backs of his knees as he began to turn toward her, his right foot sliding a few inches back as his left circled a few more forward. The ankle attack that he'd not seen would thus impact with the side of his solid boot instead of its intended target, resulting in a stalemate.
Acting swiftly and with precision, Kenji shoved Sarah's stick further back in one motion, then punched his inverted branch up at her right side's ribs, intent on bludgeoning them with a hard strike. A successful attack would be followed by him pulling the branch back closer to him for defense while spinning his body from the left forward into a side snap kick at the redhead's stomach, planning to wind her. A failed initial attack would still have him pulling his improvised sword closer and stepping back, waiting for Sarah's next moves.

Sarah would release the branch, wrapping her left arm quickly as Kenji's stick would hit ribs as it would be caught. Her hand would grip around his wrist as the hit came in. The force she'd put with her arm and the stick against her ribs would break it in half as her left leg would left up and kick toward Kenji's exposed right rib cage. The only difference was in place of a stick this attack would have her entire body in it as that right foot of hers dug deep into the grass and she would pull his wrist to pull him more into the strike.
"Why are you fighting, Kenji?" She would ask through the strike.

The moment that his branch was caught, Kenji released it as it was snapped between Sarah's arm and ribs. It was never meant to last through the fight, only help him for a short while. As her right hand gripped his wrist, he too would grip hers in kind, effectively locking their arms together. He sighted in her left kicking leg, and bracing his legs and digging his boots into the ground in response to her yanking attempt - thus remaining rooted - he'd swipe his left hand across his stomach and timely catch her heel. The attack still made contact, though Kenji managed to absorb and reduce its impact to prevent lasting debilitation, this effort being particularly helped by resisting Sarah's pull.
"I fight to hone my abilities..." Kenji began as he applied his full strength to suddenly lift Sarah off the ground, twisting her body by straightening his arms back out before attempting to hurl her toward the pond of sharp rocks, using only his upper body strength so that his lower body could remain rooted. He was not intending to throw her into either obstacle, but if that was how far she flew, then that could very well occur. "So I can protect others!"
