A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

"A... Knight?" Kyou repeated quietly. He looked away. It hardly seemed like the situation... "Knights are... they're brave, and they fight evil and save the day..." He bowed his head, giving a small chuckle. "Me attending a school for delinquents is nothing like that. I wasn't being 'brave'... after all, I belong here, and this school is like a home to me." He didn't know how else to respond. No one had ever called him brave, or considered him to be. They never thought he'd done a brave thing by attending this school--they just assumed he was like the rest of them. A criminal. Someone who belonged to be there and should be treated as such. And Kyou couldn't deny that he liked it--even if he was punished, beaten, or hurt in another way, he didn't mind this school at all. It was one reason why someone could think he was stupid. After all, only an idiot would enjoy being cooped up in a school like this, right...?
Still, it shocked Kyou when the girl called him a knight, of all things. There were a hundred different words she could have used, and she used that one. It was something that made Kyou want to laugh, for the irony of it all. Sure, he wished he could be a knight, but a little nobody who wears bow ties and glasses and had never held a sword before couldn't possibly end up being like a knight. After all, they didn't even exist anymore...

Her attention was brought back to earth when Kyou explained to her that he wasn't all that brave really, just a criminal. 'Just a criminal, maybe a mastermind, but anyone can change, maybe i can help him' she thought. He was nice and pretty sincere with his statements. perhaps this school would grow on her eventually, but it looked like a bunch of thugs and ruffians, but maybe there were more nice people like Kyou at this hell school.
"Oh.... Sorry.. I wouldn't know much about brave either I guess. I'm a coward really, and I couldn't win a fight if I tried. But I guess I'm here after all, and there's no changing that. So I guess us delinquents have to stick together." She said, still smiling and held out her hand for a hand shake.

Kyou shrugged. "Well... I guess. But honestly, I think people should look out for people regardless if they share the same title or not," he'd say, giving a weak smile and shaking her hand. "What about you? Not many cowards show up in a place like this... or were you one of the students that was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?" He asked, trying to move the topic along.

Alioth's faced flushed a bit red when the topic on how she ended up here. Should she lie about it? Or tell the truth? If she told the truth, a person dear to her may get hurt. But on the other side, if she lied about it and told a different story, the guilt would kill her. So she did what Kyou told her, tell the truth, but not all of it at once
"Er um..there were these serial killings and Er..I was the one who killed them." She said, a little embarrassed, but smiled anyway like it was no big deal.

Kyou would raise an eyebrow. "Oh really...?" He asked. Of course, he'd been so familiar working with serial killers, murderers, and things of the sort to know she was lying. It was clear to him--the expression on her face, and her tone of voice. Sure, it was possible that she was a serial killer and happened to be very good at acting shy, but then, should they be that good at acting there's no way they'd say their crime up front like that. It would ruin the point of acting in the first place.
He would quickly come to the conclusion that she was either making it up, or had been accused of the crime and for whatever reason decided to accept the fate. Kyou sipped on the juice, deciding not to comment on it. He knew she was lying instantly, but he figured she had a very good reason as to why... then again, if she did have such a good reason... she would need to learn how to be more convincing...
Kyou would sigh, putting down the box and saying quite calmly, "I don't believe you."

Alioth started to nervously sweat as Kyou called her half truth out as a lie. 'Dang...I forgot he was really smart' she silently cursed at herself. She hesitated a few moments to try and think of a good excuse to explain herself about the killings without giving away anything. She avoided eye contact, then the guilt of lying finally consumed her, and she started to confess the real story.
"Yeah.... It was a lie Kyou... The truth is that my father killed those people... I edited the evidence and turned myself in instead of him." She said.
"It w-was just so he wouldn't be sent to the gallows again and this time they would k-kill him so......" She added, hoping that it would explain why she turned herself in his stead.

"'This time'... huh?" He asked. "Sounds like your father's gotten into trouble with the law before..." He'd sigh, resting his cheek on his hand as his eyes were downcast, thinking quiet, desolate thoughts that only he could hear. "It's a pretty noble thing, to turn yourself in for someone's sake... still, there's many things wrong with it..." Kyou would quietly repeat her last name, "Algol... hm... I feel like I read about that case somewhere..." He'd run his fingers through his hair, adding, "It was fairly recent, too. Though I suppose the crime took place during multiple events and happened within a larger time frame... I believe I was working on something else at that time, besides, the corps. prefer to keep me out of murder cases. Which I find too bad, as I rather enjoy them, despite the sad fact that someone's being killed..." He'd say the last bits to himself, so it was noticeably quieter than before, but still audible enough that Alioth would be able to hear...
He'd turn his attention to Alioth and say, "Well... it sounds like you love your father very much. After all, most people wouldn't put their necks on the line to save a murderer. Though I don't particularly agree with the notion, it's a pretty noble thing to do... still... it's to bad you told me this instead of someone else..."

Alioth's face looked notable interested as she listened. Was it a noble thing to do? Alioth didn't think much of it at the time it happened, she just wanted to keep her father safe. According to the letter that he had sent, he was under house arrest but he could still work, which was good for business and kept him out of trouble, also good. However there was one detail that unnerved Alioth. Kyou worked as a detective? Was he here the whole time just to investigate students for possible crimes? Worry began to bubble up inside of her, but he shook it off. 'No, he was probably actually here for a crime, not he other reason..' He reassured herself.
"Wr-wrong person to tell..? Are you going to turn him in? Please d-don't!" She said at a fast pace

Alioth's reaction was to be expected. She'd put so much effort into making her father seem innocent, to save his life, after all. Kyou would sigh, saying, "Look. I don't like people getting killed--even if they were heartlessly murdering innocent people for no good reason. The fact is that they're still human and... and there's still hope that they could change, even if they aren't ever allowed back into society again for the peoples' safety." He'd adjust his glasses, trying to think of what else to say. Sure, it was an interesting case and he would like to help solve it if he could, but...
"But, it's none of my business," He'd bluntly say, as though to tell her "I'm not going to turn you in". His deep brown eyes would pan over to her, giving her a serious look before relaxing slightly. He didn't want to scare her, since she didn't really know whether or not he actually worked in the Private Investigation Agency... "The reports say that there was a serial killer, correct? The father was framed, because the daughter was using him like a puppeteer, murdering people in the shadows and making the evidence lead to him at first so as to have him be her scapegoat. However, when it all came down to it, the girl loved her father and revealed the other traces of evidence left behind that pointed to her being the killer. Since she was so young she had a chance to go to a reformation school--a place where she could hopefully turn around and learn to stop making her mistakes, hence her attending PHS 552, rather than being on death road for her sins..." He looked away. "It seems like a legitimate enough of a case. But, even if I know the truth, what does it matter? I'm not involved in that case so it's none of my business to tell them about it, even if I normally would... After all, your father's being held in prison nonetheless, correct? With hope he might learn to correct his ways and once you do your time at this school, the both of you will be released and it'll be as though nothing bad ever happened..."
Kyou bowed his head, thinking. Surely, if there was a way for the murderer to turn around and stop their crimes, that would be better than having to be executed by the law. Then again, also keeping this secret from the agency would lead to big trouble for Kyou, but he didn't mind much. After all, he hadn't had anything to do with the case, it wasn't his place to get involved...
"Hopefully, the two of you will just go back to being a happy family--under some supervision, of course... never again to commit another murder," He'd say. "That would be the happier outcome, though if it'll be a reality... who knows?" He shrugged. "After all, the sad fact is... that most people who are insane enough to actually rob someone else of their own life--usually in cruel and inhumane ways... they're permanently damaged psychologically and won't ever turn around, so the best thing that could happen to them is that they'll be imprisoned for the rest of their lives."

Alioth breathed a sigh of relief when Kyou said her secret would be ok and took a bite of her biscut with a relaxed look on her face. It felt better to tell a person and get it off her chest. Her head nodded when he said almost a word for word replica of the report that was in her profile in the school's database. Maybe it was wrong to kill innocent people, but Alioth didn't care. She loved her father, and anyome she cared about she'd gladlytake a bullet for them.
Perhaps they could have a happy ending, and hearing this made Alioth smile. She believed her father could change and that they could have a happy ever after sometime.
"You're right..but I believe my father can change! He's under house arrest right now but he's also going through a correctional program for the first murders that popped up and how maybe my mother's death may of affected it, but i really believe that he'll change!" She said positively. Being the optimist that she was she pretty much missed the point that Kyou was trying to make

Kyou would sigh. "You don't get it, do you? People just don't change like that. Should he have had some kind of motive for killing people, the chances he'd let go of that grudge are slim. And if he killed people merely for entertainment, he's probably twisted beyond recovery." His gaze grew quite serious and almost hostile. "I mean. You just don't understand, do you? Do you have any idea what it's like? Being in the situation of life and death--where your life is at someone else's hands? That's... that's an unforgivable crime and it's not so easy to get out of as 'getting better' and putting the blame on someone else. The detective league... they're not stupid, and the chances you'll have a happy ending..." He sighed. "Just, don't get your hopes up."

The smile on Alioth's face disappeared when she heard the harsh reality that Kyou told her. Fairy tales weren't all that commen, happy endings rarely happened for these situations. Alioth didn't even know why her father killed those people. So many emotions started to bubble up inside of her, but she took a small breath and held them down. 'don's cry, don't cry, you promised you wouldn't..' She thought repeatedly to herself, and started to realize that the world was harsh more often then not. She was insensitive at the situation, and that was entirely her fault. Alioth had always thought that happy endings could happen no matter what, but that one saying popped upon her head; ignorance is bliss. She bowed her head and looked down at the ground.
"You're right. Th-that was e-entirely my fault. I-I shouldn't have been so I-insensitive and oblivious to the world. I-I'm sorry about that.. Sorry.." She stammered, noticing a few small tears welling up, but swatted them away hastily, hoping no one was noticing.

The girl would start to cry, and Kyou wouldn't really know what to do. He wasn't one to comfort people. So he said, "It's fine. Just don't make it a habit. You have no idea what it's like to be hurt in such a way, so don't dismiss it as though it isn't a big deal..." There was no room to be kind or gentle about it. When someone was holding a gun to your head or a knife at your throat there wasn't any room for happy thoughts, or the idea that, "I'll be alright! This person's not really bad, they won't really hurt me!" It was a fact Kyou had found too true to ever dismiss again, and he wouldn't stand by and let others be ignorant to the cruel reality. Sure, ignorance was bliss, but ignorance leads to death in one way or another.

Alioth wiped away the rest of those pesky tears and heard Kyou's way or sort of kinda comforting. She felt a little better about it, and a little more knowledgeable about the world and it's harsh side. Maybe she would visit her father on her next break just to see how he was doing under the police supervision. She looked at Kyou and smiled once again.
"O-ok, I won't think little of these kinds of things, do you think it would possible for me to try and help people in similar situations? Like try to counsel them?" She suggested

((ooc: lol man, wow XD XD made my day <3 ))
Kyou was about to respond when he saw Soran mouth something to him. Kyou deadpanned, glaring at the blue-haired boy. "What the heck," he muttered under his breath, tempted to throw something and yell at him. But that was just impulse so he ignored it. Truth was, Soran was nice to him before so he had no right to be rude... even if Soran was just being... weird. No... he'd tell Soran later on that's not what was going on... or no, he'd tell him now. "Uh, excuse me one moment," Kyou'd say to the girl, taking out his notebook and scribbling something on one of the pages, before ripping it out and crumpling it up into a ball, tossing it to the blue-haired boy who was passing by.
He huffed, somewhat shocked at the kid's... actions. I mean, did he really think Kyou was hitting on her? It wasn't anything like that! Far from it. Like... as if. As if Kyou would flirt with anyone. Hence why he wrote "IT'S NOT LIKE THAT" On the paper.
"Uh... A-anyway, Alioth. To be a counselor... that's a good idea, but I think you'd need a higher level of experience with working with criminals. But it's a good idea. However, how about as for now... you just focus on trying to help your dad first, before getting involved with other people?" Kyou suggested, not crushing her idea but wanting her to start small first so as to not get overwhelmed, or be thrown in waist-deep into something she wouldn't be able to handle anyway.
