A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

His thrust knocked away after Sarah flicked her wrist to get momentum, just enough that the bokken would just barely graze her ribs, he would see her dive forward and somersault, ending up facing him once coming to a stop on her feet. He would then shift his bokken back in front of him, however, instead of rushing forward, he would instead lower his bokken, holding it with one hand by his side.
"... That's good. You're learning fast, much faster than expected. Do you want to take a break and continue on after, or end it here for now, or just plow right on?"

"Maybe end it here for now and take a break, talk, relax." She said as she set the bokken down and stretched, letting out a large yawn. "If I keep going nonstop I'm gonna slowly slip into my own fighting style. I'd rather watch you practice solo for awhile and maybe see about picking up the moves from there."
She sat on the floor cross legged as her left elbow rested on her left knee, her head leaning to the right and scratching the right side of her head on her shoulder. "When did you start learning all the stuff, anyway?"

"... Sounds good to me. I can at least send you off with a good breakfast, if you haven't had any yet, later. I don't mind demonstrating for you, it'd probably help you learn faster seeing someone who has trained in it before."
Taking a seat on the wooden floor near Sarah, placing his bokken down beside him, thought the bokken itself wasn't too heavy, it had been a long while since he had sparred against a real opponent, his arms were actually aching slightly from all the clashing of his strikes against Sarah's. Stretching his arms above his head, his joints cracking, he would let out a loud yawn like a lion before looking over at Sarah, lowering his arms back down.
"About three years ago. My father started teaching me Kenjutsu, but it wasn't until a year later, that I started training in it seriously."
In learning Kenjutsu, Kazuya had slowly started to follow the code of Bushido, or the law that all samurai followed in feudal Japan. Though no one followed such a code nowadays, Kazuya did, and applied it to not just fights and spars he was in, but to his life in general. In a way, he was possibly the last samurai of sorts around.
"... I was taught how to use various different weaponry, such as Japanese polearms, but I always had the tendency to end up using katanas. I suppose katanas were the one weapon I was the most comfortable with using."

"So what's the deal with your dad?" She asked, curious about why he was taught all of these things. "I mean clearly he's loaded, why teach you how to do all this stuff? Is it a part of the culture still or just your dad's unique sort of experiences that he teaches you this stuff?" She was honestly curious, she remembered that he was the son of the head of Hikari Industries and that the prison school in japan she had vaguely heard about was a part of that.
"As for breakfast, food sounds good." She wanted to get to know more about him and how he grew up. He was kind of interesting in a really strange way.

"... Well my family is rich, but my father wasn't always. It wasn't until he took over as CEO of Hikari Industries from my great-grandfather, that he came into money, and eventually becoming filthy rich. He's also been through the Corporal Punishment System himself when he was in high school, he attended another public high school similar to ours... Public High School #253 I think was the name, in Seattle, Washington. Having experienced the CPS himself, he wanted to teach me skills other than just Karate, so that both myself and my older sister could defend ourselves."
Climbing to his feet, he would pick his bokken up, he would roll his shoulders and crack his neck, his joints cracking and loosening him up. Alongside being taught the Shifting Dragon style of fighting, the fighting style passed down in his family for hundreds of years, he had been trained to use long blades, specifically a naginata, in conjunction with the fighting style. Although he was proficient with a naginata, he was more skilled in wielding katanas, applying the powerful sweeps he had been taught to his swordplay.
"... Maybe back in feudal Japan wielding a katana was the norm, but these days, samurai are all but a thing of the past. No one follows the code of Bushido anymore... but I do. I would say I am probably the last samurai of sorts."

"What is that code?" She asked, digesting the information about his father not having always been rich. Sarah had not always been able to care for herself until recently and she felt pretty lucky for that but she couldn't imagine how jarring it would be to go from how she was to being like, filthy rich. She'd probably be too uncomfortable from the change to manage a company and just spend her days having really rough bouts of dissociation.
She didn't know what this code was and didn't imagine she followed it for sure, but it would give her a better understanding of Kazuya at least to understand exactly what it meant. She knew a bit about the caste systems and the feudal histories but aside from the class structures she wasn't very knowledgeable about Samurai or traditions of any sort of military or martial arts from those times.

"Bushido literally means 'the way of the warrior.' It's a Japanese word for the way of the samurai life, loosely analogous to the concept of chivalry, and is more of a modern term than a historical one. The 'way' itself originates from the samurai moral values, most commonly stressing some combination of frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor unto death."
Disappearing into the storage area located in the back of the dojo, he would re-emerge a couple minutes later with a training dummy for him to practice on. Setting it up in the middle of the dojo, he would flick his bokken with one hand a couple times, to loosen his wrist up, before taking up a simple Kendo stance, the bokken held in front of him with both hands, the point of the bokken pointed at the dummy. Stepping forward, he would then go to jab at the shoulder of the dummy with the bokken, keeping the point of the bokken pointed at the dummy at all times, before following up with a thrust to the side of the dummy.
"My personal belief is 'Live with honor, die with honor, for without it, you are nothing.' Of course, not everyone believes that... It's not exactly the easiest to follow, but when I fight someone, whether an all-out fight or a friendly spar, I give my opponent the respect and honor their fighting skills deserve."

"Yeah I don't know if all that is for me, you know? Good on you though, I'm more of a survivalist. If I die I'm done, so I take whatever steps I can to avoid it. If I gotta stab someone when they aren't looking or sneak up on an opponent or even just lie my way out I'm probably going to do it." She didn't really respect most of the people she chose to fought in all honesty. She had a large amount of disrespect for the people she ended up fighting.
"Good on you though for staying true to yourself so long though, that's something." She watched his fighting and carefully studied each thrust and tried to see where the power was coming from. It definitely seemed like two hands was the ideal. Many defensive capabilities were lost with the second hand being gone, as well as some of the power from the handle's resistance to the blade being pushed back. It meant it'd take tremendous strength to use a blade as effectively.

"... Everyone has their own personal belief or code they follow. Maybe not like the code of Bushido that I follow, but your will to survive is a code of sorts. You do what you must to protect your own life, just as I fight with honor, and that is to be respected, no matter how dirty the tactics may be. Likewise for you Sarah, you've stayed to yourself and do what you have to do, to survive."
Feigning a jab, only to end up thrusting his bokken at the chest of the training dummy, he would then follow up with a cut from the top of the dummy's shoulder to the hip, what would be considered a finishing move in Kenjutsu, as it cut the opponent right across the upper body, his power did lie in using both hands, but for Kazuya, when he wielded actual weapons, he used twin katanas, as opposed to just one. It made it harder to put power behind the strikes, but strikes could be made in quicker succession. Though that probably didn't make it any easier for Sarah, seeing as she had only one arm, and strikes could only be pulled off as fast as her reflexes were.
"... Would you like me to demonstrate more Sarah, or do you feel you've gotten a decent grasp on it?"

"No I think I got enough. It's like an extra limb of sorts or an extension. You use it and you have to relearn how to fight with that extra limb, where it is at all times, careful you don't hurt yourself, that sort of thing." Sarah stretched and let out a yawn, "Of course I'll have to adapt only having one arm. Especially considering it's my non dominant hand."
She looked down as her stomach grumbled, "I believe you mentioned something about breakfast?"

"... In a nutshell, yes. Kenjutsu, and therefore wielding a bokken, will always have more power behind each strike with two hands, but there are other styles of swordplay where the blade is wielded with one hand, fencing being one. In your case, since its your non-dominant hand, it may be better to use thrusts and jabs to inflict damage. Or you could just whack your opponent with your sword, if all else fails."
Hearing Sarah's stomach growl, a slight smile could be seen tugging at the corners of Kazuya's mouth, sounds like someone was ready for breakfast, as he would go to put the training dummy away in the back, re-emerging a couple minutes later. He had also placed his bokken away as well, since he kept all his Kenjutsu equipment in the dojo.
"... C'mon, let's go. Just tell me what you want to eat for breakfast, chances are I know how to make it."
Motioning with his head towards the dojo entrance, he'd wait until Sarah had gotten up, before leading the way out of the dojo. She may have noticed that while Kazuya had put his bokken away, he hadn't taken hers, and he hadn't for good reason. He was giving her the bokken, for her to use if she wished. His gift to her, as her Sensei. After letting Sarah go out first before following after her, closing the door behind him, he'd head to his house located behind the dojo, and sliding the door open, would let Sarah go in first.
"... Welcome to my humble abode Sarah-san, make yourself at home, and feel free to explore the place if you wish."

"I'm more into whacking people to be honest..." She looked down, "That didn't sound as dirty in my head as it did out loud, and I apologize." She nodded and looked up though, watching him put stuff away and tell her about breakfast. "I usually just eat a few fried eggs in a sandwich with cheese and toast. Eggs over hard, I hate runny yolk."
She was too hungry to play it all nice and say 'oh you don't have to'. Food was of the essence here and she wasn't about to pass that chance up. As she followed him out of the dojo and up toward the house. "Oh cool, nice digs," She said as she made her way in. Her bokken still with her. "Oh hey did you want me to go put this up?"
She'd look around after asking the question, her eyes just sort of getting used to the place as she looked it over and noted where what looked like the bathroom might be if she had to guess. She didn't have to go yet but she wanted to wash her hand and fix her hair a little bit.

"... I've heard worse, don't worry about it. I can do that, but I'd rather give you a bigger breakfast than just fried eggs with cheese and toast, though I'm not knocking it, it sounds pretty good."
Giving a slight bow of his head in thanks, he didn't really consider his home cool or amazing or anything, he kept it clean and tidy, but decoration-wise, he kept it very minimal. Hell, even the furniture in his home was very minimal, he never had more than he needed. Sure his kitchen was fully-equipped, but every other room in the house had only what he needed.
"... No need, that's yours to keep. Think of it as a gift, from Sensei to kouhai. Feel free to wash up and relax for a bit, maybe even have a bath, there's clean towels if you need one. I'll call you when breakfast's ready."
Leaving Sarah to her own devices, Kazuya would head upstairs to his room, just to grab a clean athletic shirt, and heading downstairs after, would head into the kitchen, to start on breakfast. A few minutes later, after gathering all the ingredients he needed, the smell of fried eggs and sausages would gently waft through the house, most of the smell taken away by the exhaust fan. Soon after, he would finish, and placing two plates of fried eggs, sausages, and toast down on the counter of the island, would head a little down the hallway.
"... Hey Sarah, breakfast is ready!"

Sarah wasn't much of a breakfast person, growing up the way she had it was always a small thing, dinner was usually the big meal typically meat and potatos sort of situation or meat and rice. So for her a small breakfast was actually kind of the ideal. "For real?" She looked down at the bokken and grinned. "Cool I have a wooden sword now." She was pretty stoked about the whole thing and learned two new words. Well, one new word. She knew the word sensei at least.
While he went upstairs Sarah found her way to the restroom, washing her hand and her face before running her hands through her after pulling out the tie. She was okay with wearing it down now that she wasn't working out and the cold water on her face had cooled her down enough that the hair wasn't a bother.
She made her way back as Kazuya was cooking after being told that breakfast was ready, making her way in. "Oh hey sausage. Bonus proteins." Sarah grabbed her plate from the island and found somewhere to sit down and began to eat, starting with the eggs first rather than putting it in sandwich form. "Thank you for the food!" She said as she took a few more bites. "So is this place just all you then?"

"... Yeah. I figure I'd give you a good breakfast to tie you over until lunchtime. It's not much, but it'll do."
Taking a seat at the island, he would sit facing Sarah, wherever she chose to sit, since there were plenty of seats, he would start eating politely, not starting with anything in particular. Giving Sarah a slight bow of his head in response to her thanks, he would take a few more bites of his food before looking up and over at her, nodding his head slightly.
"... You're welcome, I'm more than happy to cook for you, just drop in any time. And yeah, it is. It's spacious enough for one person, but not so big that every time I talk I hear an echo. I have a guest room upstairs, though it's obviously unused, and I don't expect that to change any time soon."
Taking a few more bites of his food, he really didn't think anyone would want to stay with him permanently, much less as a guest. It's not that he was a bad host, he just wasn't the most social. You'd more likely find him either training or reading a book in his room.
"... I wouldn't know who would even want to stay with me anyways, to be perfectly honest."
