It was a normal day, nothing could be worse or better in that regard, Kyuseishu had a big day today and he had to prepare mentally and physically because today, he had a big baseball tournament on and if his team won, they'd go onto the championships which was what Kyuseishu was looking forward to, he had always wanted to play baseball and get into a big championships where him and his team would struggle to win but if they pushed themselves they'd get there and manage to win. Kyuseishu would now have to get up to brush his teeth, get dressed, have some food and then head to practice before the big game happened and practice was going to be hard today and the game was going to be even harder than practice because they were up against one of the best teams in the state, which meant they could really easily go out in the first round, though it'd be unlikely, since they had so much determination and motivation and faith in themselves to not lose, which was good, it meant they'd never give up no matter what the situation. Kyuseishu would jump out of bed with excitement, run to his bathroom, pull his toothbrush from the cupboard above, smear a dod of toothpaste on it and brush his teeth. After that, he'd walk over to his wardrobe, pull a set of clothes out and put them on, before getting his bag and putting his baseball gear inside it neatly . After a bit of running around his house he would finally have got everything organised and ready for his big game tonight, he was glad he was playing at night, he prefered being able to see the starry sky while he played, he just enjoyed it more than having the sun glare into his eyes and blind him, he was pretty sure most people didn't like having the sun in their eyes but they still went to day games, sure if it was rainy then he'd understand but when it's really sunny? No. Kyuseishu would put his jacket on and then shove his bag around his neck and head out of the house towards the training grounds to meet his team and get ready to train. When he arrived at the training grounds his team captain would be pleased to see him, he was always the earliest to arrive, well... except from the captain but it was his job to be here before everyone. "Hey, you're here, go take a few warm up laps before the rest get here, I want to discuss the team tactics and training course when everyone is here, since I have a lot to say, it'd be a pain to repeat everything every time someone else arrived" Kyuseishu understood why he felt like that, repeating things over and over "WAS" slightly annoying, especially if what it was he said, was a long topic. "Alright, sir. I'll go get to it now" It was a respectful way to talk to your captain but the captain prefered it when they addressed him like they did each other, he wasn't any better than they were, why should he be treated better just because he is captain but no matter what he said, they kept their respect for him, which is how he knows they'll do well in this championships, he truly believed they'd get into it and succeed. Kyuseishu would take five laps around the field and it was pretty tiring, he needed to get his stamina up, he thought it'd been good but maybe he slacked off a little or something and had to like, train harder for his goal to be accomplished and so that he could make it further into his baseball team, becoming a lot better than he was now. After his five laps he would return to his captain to see that most of his team was there now, they were just missing two people but they're always late. About five minutes later they finally arrived and the captain started explaining the routine "Okay, so we need you to work on hitting and throwing so we're going to have each person bat for half an hour and each person throw for half an hour, the one who serves will try catch the ball that the batter hits, batter don't hit too hard, after that we'll work on stamina and running strength, so you'll do fifty laps around the field. After all that I want you to repeat for the next 6 hours before the game starts, am I clear?" Everyone would look at the captain with motivated face and in perfect unison they'd all say "Yes, sir!" loudly, it was like a salute pretty much, pretty interesting to be honest but anyway, the next 6 hours of training, which would involve, blood, sweat and tears, would decide whether or not they made it to the championships or not. Kyuseishu would run over to the field get a fielders glove and put it on, he would be throwing first since batting was his strong point. "One, two! One, two! One, two!" these two words could be heard all around the training grounds as the team pushed themselves to their limits to get stronger and better, they were not ever going to give up and if they lost, then they would just continue to practice until they were able to steal the trophy but as said many times, they didn't plan on losing so that wasn't an option, they would make sure that they won. After about an hour, they were all growing a little tired but nothing was stopping them, they would still be training as hard as they could, even though they were sweating and panting and some were even stumbling around a little "H-how are we m-meant to manage five more hours of this, it's insane!" the captain didn't want people who gave up on his team. "So what? TO WIN YOU MUST TRAIN YOUR HARDEST, YOU MUST GIVE IT YOUR ALL, YOU DON'T SIMPLY WIN BY STANDING STILL, YOU WIN BY PUSHING YOURSELF AND BELIEVING IN YOURSELF, NO ONE WINS BY THINKING NEGATIVELY, THEY WIN BY THINKING POSITIVELY, YOU DO NOT GAIN ANYTHING BY SITTING AROUND HOPING AND WISHING FOR IT TO HAPPEN, YOU MUST GO OUT AND REACH OUT TO IT, REACH OUT TO THE STARS, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS... YOU'RE ALL ON THIS TEAM BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO BECOME THE BEST TEAM IN THE STATE? WELL THEN MAKE SURE IT HAPPENS, DON'T GIVE UP SO DAMN EASILY, KEEP PUSHING AND PUSHING AND PUSHING UNTIL YOU CAN NO LONGER STAND! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" Everyone would be slightly shocked by the captain's speech, so shocked that they could hardly think up anything to say back but it definitely motivated them to want to push themselves "YESSIR!!!" The message they had just been told by their captain would be engraved into their mind forever, none of them would ever forget it and why would they? It was beautiful, it had so much meaning behind it, so much truth, so much love, the captain adored his team, they were everything to him and he didn't want them giving up so easily. They pushed themselves through the next 3 hours, without saying a single word, they just pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed, it was an amazing sight, being able to see so many people do so much training in such a short amount of time and how they managed to keep pushing themselves was also amazing, it was like a button had been pressed and it made them run on invisible energy that would never run out. Kyuseishu was pushing himself the most, he threw a fifty balls, caught them all when the batter hit them, ran fifty laps around the field, threw the ball fifty more times and then lapped the field fifty times again and he continued this cycle until the six hours was almost up, he could barely walk, his legs were killing him, good thing it'd take them 2 hours to actually get to the game so they had plenty of rest time and with the amount of training they had put in today, they had to win, losing wasn't really a choice before but now it definitely isn't a choice. When the six hours were finally up the captain called the team over "Great going guys! I'm really proud you managed to push yourselves that much, it was incredible, I am actually surprised you managed to do it so well, when we leave, be sure to get rested up and make sure you aren't injured, that would mean the training was just a waste of time and no one wants to have wasted that time for nothing, you have 10 minutes to get ready, I'll see you at the bus then" Kyuseishu was getting a little nervous about the whole game, not like nervous in the way that he didn't want to do it, it was a happy nervous, nothing much, hopefully it wouldn't affect him very much and if it did, he'd still make sure he won this game at all costs. Ten minutes later they headed for the bus "Alright guys, hop in grab a seat, don't be fussy, it's going to be a long bus journey, so make sure you're comfortable, I can't have people complaining when we get there like *Mommy, I hurt my bumbum!!!* if you do that, I'll make you exercise even more before the game starts, now, lets go!" They'd head for the stadium at which they'd be playing at and they were all having a good talk about tactics and even Kyuseishu was joining in on the conversation, they had a good game plan and this made their chances of winning shoot up, instead of running in blind and having a very high chance of losing, though either way, they were against one of the state's best teams, it was going to be a hard match anyway. About two hours later, they finally arrived at the stadium, they still had about thirty minutes before their game, so it'd just be them getting extra rest and getting recovered from training. It was finally time, they had all their gear, all their stuff ready, they just had to go step out into the big open stadium and play. "Alright guys, lets get out there and show 'em what we're made of! No slacking off! It's not going to be an easy game! but YOU CAN DO IT!" These were the last words we heard from our captain before stepping onto the field to play, what would be, our hardest game yet. And the first ball was pitched, the batter would swing as hard as he could towards the ball but his aim wasn't exactly on and the ball wouldn't go as far as he had wanted it to, but it was good enough, it got him to second base, a few more people batted scoring one or two points here and there but Kyuseishu's team needed to take the lead now if they wanted to win... Kyuseishu's bat now, would determine who had control of the game. The ball would be pitched in a spin, it was a good one but Kyuseishu would be able to hit it hopefully, he would swing the bat true, aiming directly for the ball and it hit spot on, sending the ball flying across the pitch and at the second he hit it, he dropped the bat and ran... First base, second base, third base, fourth base... he ran like he was free, he kept running and running, he didn't stop for even a second, he was closing in on the home base "It's a... HOME RUN!" but as he was about set his foot upon home base, the ball came whizzing past his head, startling him and making him fall and before he could raise himself to continue running he'd hear the words "You're out!" Kyuseishu's expression would drop and he would fall to the ground once more... "Was... was... WAS ALL THAT TRAINING FOR NOTHING? DID I JUST... WASTE MY TIME? DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT!" Kyuseishu would hit the ground, was that it? had they fallen too far behind to catch up again?... TO BE CONTINUED... |
