A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Luka sat in the library reading up on an old classic for him, Stephen King's The Shining, he preferred to read it during winter time when it actually carried some scare effect, often waiting till it snowed so he could put himself into the mindset of the family and the haunting and possession that the main character faces. This time around he had been highlighting any reference to wasps that he could find. It was a great metaphor that King had been stuck on, and Luka was curious as to why.
Absentmindedly as he read with his left hand holding the back up his right hand was drawing a wasp in pretty decent detail though it was from the corner of his eye. He had a cup of tea next to it, a loose leaf blend he had picked himself from a small garden that he maintained. The metal ball with the tea in it floating around as he waited for it to be finished steeping.
With one leg crossed over his knee he looked up ever few minutes from his book to check the time and check to see if anybody he recognized came in. He had been rather observant in his years of 552, simply staying in the background. He didn't know details but he knew the basics, who were pillars, who were major gang members that made noise, who had fought to protect the school during major assaults, that sort of thing.

Aaron opened the door to the library, looking over at the man behind the front desk with a little smile and wave. The volunteer there would wave back- Aaron had been coming in for the past few days to check out books, trying to find the ones he really wanted for his class to work with. He had taken an extended leave of absence, and by happenstance they took him back....as though teachers in the school were few and far between. He was okay with it- this school didn't scare him, like it did his siblings. And sometimes, the kids here surprised him.
For instance- there was a kid reading a book at a table, not far away.
That was...odd. Kids here were usually doing one of two things. Trying to fight, or trying to fight. Well, okay, one thing. That was all that was on the brain anymore. Get stronger. Get stronger. Get stronger. Once they graduated they would be a bunch of muscle bound people with nothing upstairs. He could appreciate someone actually taking out the time to get a study in. He would head into the library and drop the two books he finished into the slot, heading back into Biology to skim around a bit more. Once he found what he was looking for, he plucked it out and started back over. It appeared to be a book on evolution. He would stop by the desk and gently pull out a chair, setting down the tome to the side.
"Hello- it's good to see someone studying for once. What are you working on?"

"Hmm?" He said in response, he had heard what was said but his mind took a second to process since he hadn't been paying active attention. His mind recalled the last thing he remembered hearing as he tilted the book outward to place his eyes on the man in front of him. Older, distinguished, probably a teacher. Inappropriate to hit on him here given there were students around but if he ever had this teacher, or if he took classes specifically that this teacher taught, maybe he could get the opening to flirt.
For now, he enjoyed the break. "Oh sorry, I heard you just needed a moment. Jack just realized that the empty wasp hive he gave to Danny wasn't in fact empty and cleared out as well as he thought." He closed the book, noting the page number. It was more reliable to him that way than to actually mark the book. He set down the pencil in his right hand across the drawing of the wasp and took a sip of his tea to test it before taking out the metal infuser and setting it on a napkin he had with him.
"This is actually Stephen King's The Shining, reading for pleasure but actually taking some detailed notes. Just got lost in it and ended up doodling a wasp. I'm doing a report on it for fun," He explained as he flipped the book back open, turning it to a page to show he had highlighted notes. "The copy is mine of course, I would never highlight a library book. But I've been going through and noting any wasp imagery in the book. It's a recurring theme in The Shining that isn't really touched on so it's really quite interesting to me. Have you read it before? Or at least seen the Stanley Kubrick take on the story?"

Aaron gently took the book, bringing it toward him and looking over the notes. The kid was clearly an intellectual- something that Allen would have to bring up. Not because he found it particularly interesting, but that it was very rarely seen behind these walls.
"I have seen both the live action portrayal and the film that ran in my head when reading. I always preferred books to movies, as certain things will always be cut in script. I haven't read or seen it since I was in college, however, so these finer points you speak of are lost on me. It doesn't help having a heavy class schedule. Interferes a lot with the free time I would normally have to enjoy things like this. You take it further than me, though I can respect it."
He would slide the book back over, his hands moving back to his lap after, clearly unaware of the boys intention to openly flirt with him at a given time in the future.
"I have to say, while it's refreshing to see someone take such an interest in academics, it can't be easy for you. You must get bullied quite a lot."
Not that he deserved it or that Aaron was being mocking- just a statement. It would definitely be by the hands of kids one like him would see as knuckle draggers, but viewing them as such internally and being able to stand up to their fists externally were two entirely different matters. The boy was a walking target, and would likely be squashed out before too long if he wasn't careful.

"Oh, I suppose," he replied as he took the book back and set it atop his drawing. He took another long sip of his tea as he thought over what he had said regarding losing some of the finer points. There were a lot given that Kubrick's version changed the storyline a bit and focused more on the idea that Jack was just losing his mind, while the book makes it clear that Jack was prone to possession and that alcohol gave him a temper. The possession and the drinking unleashed upon him a weakness for a far more violent spirit to take hold.
"They made a sequel of the book, actually. It follows Danny as an adult, he loses some of his shine to age but the rest he tries to drown out. It was a different style of book altogether though, so it doesn't feel like a sequel in the traditional sense." The random fact wasn't part of the actual discussion, however, "And yeah, I get bullied but for the most part I just try to fade in the background. I've gone here since I was a freshman, I'm a senior now, 18 years old and everything. I would be graduating here now, my grades are near perfect aside from physical education. But I guess one of my classes didn't count for the credits it was supposed to, so I'm a super senior."
He shrugged, "I'm used to being bullied though, I can talk myself out of it from time to time though. But sometimes my mouth gets me into trouble. I tend to rouse negative reactions." He smirked, "How about you, students giving you too much trouble?"

He watched the boy, not replying when he spoke about the film and the book. It had been- what, eight years since he left college? He hadn't seen the movie or read the book since then. If someone were to point out a movie he had seen when he was sixteen- like "IT", he wouldn't remember most of it. That was the way of time. Not to mention he had far darker memories between then and now that clouded his thoughts. So, since he couldn't contribute anything of substance, he just gave a small smile and a shrug. The next part was of more interest.
"If you know what they are after- a good fight, your money, whatever it is- why haven't you picked up fighting as a hobby more? That was the reason I took up fighting in highschool. People liked to beat me up when I was a freshman. So I came back from summer a bit bulkier and more ready to fight."
He would lean in, resting his forearms on the table.
"I'd be willing to teach you, if you really want to learn."
The boy seemed to hunger learning in all capacities- if it was just mental, he would be a little disappointed. Still, even if that was the case at least he had an edge in the way he thought most profitable. He wouldn't wait for an answer, instead grinning.
"You should come to my biology class, super senior. You might like it."

"Because then they win," He said simply. "I'm not going to change myself to fit their idea of who or what I should be. I am unapologetically me, and me is not a fighter. Or rather, to be more correct. I am not a fighter, I am a lover. That and I have a laundry list of medical conditions. I'm asthmatic, I have allergies, scholiosis, I have a stomach bacteria that takes really hefty antibiotics every five years to manage. It's all just not looking good for me."
He thought about the proposition to learn how to fight though. He tried considering it more, it was his last year. He was a super senior, if he wanted to he could learn a few things if nothing else. Maybe he should train to learn how to fight. "The idea of knowing how to fight, learning the mechanics and styles, I enjoy that. The physical rigorous training to put your body in a place to be good at it doesn't necessarily pique my interest though. I'd gladly learn from you for the how, if nothing else I can better analyze the people who do pick fights with me. As for biology, I'll consider it. It's not the humanities credit I need but it definitely would give me something to do."
Luka held his hand out to shake, "My name is Lucas, but everyone... no I guess nobody really cares about me so 'everyone calls me' wouldn't be accurate. I prefer to go by Luka."

He shook his head.
"That's not what I mean. I would never ask someone to change who they are to fit someone elses or society's vision of what is necessary. I'm talking about learning to fight to protect yourself. Protect your mind, if you want. Enough blows to the head can cause problems, after all. And it would simply make who you are and what you like to do easier when you know people won't fuck with you."
That was the case for him, anyway. So far. People generally just stepped aside and let him go. If Luka thought that it was allowing others to dictate his actions then Aaron had to disagree- either way people were going to fight. It was whether you cared to defend yourself or not. If the boy chose not to, things might be a bit harder but it was still his choice.
"Well, I'd be happy to teach. Just let me know if you decide it's something you want. Anyway, I better head back to my classroom and finish setting up."
He would stand and offer a hand.
"I'm Aaron Hollows. It was a pleasure."

"Sure thing, Mr. Hollows." He said as he would take the hand in kind and shake it. "I'll let you know. I guess it all depends on the type of fighting I'd be learning. I'm not really looking to punch anyone or kick anyone's teeth in, you know?" He was still really uneasy about the prospect of learning to fight. He didn't want to fight and he would sooner protect his mind by outsmarting his opponents or talking his way out if he had to.
Then again sometimes he used his mouth to hurt people, and that never ended well for him. He tried to think more on it, would a life have been safed had he fought rather than used his particular skills? Perhaps. He didn't want to be possessed by a fighting spirit however, and he was not looking to rattle the hive by openly showing fighting capabilities either.
And with that he would return to his book, and slowly finishing his tea, thinking on what had been discussed and wondering if he would have any more interesting discussions like this today.

Aaron grinned.
"You'll have to develop a style that agrees with you then, and I can work inside of it. Either way. Anyway, have a good afternoon."
And he would leave the boy to return to his book!

Eyes pulled away from the book as he gave a quiet nod, his tea cup hand setting the cup down and holding his chin as he went back to studying the book. His eyes continuing to scan but otherwise still mulling over the information in his head. At this point his eyes were looking for buzz words (ha!) that would alert him to wasp imagery. In his mind he was still internally debating learning how to fight or not. He was pretty solidly against it, especially considering how close he was to being gone.
But did he work this hard to have a medical emergency in his last six months? Did he want to risk taking an injury to the head with all the monstrous things going on around the school? Or with the deaths?
He felt his brow furrow as he rubbed his temples. Closing and setting down the book as his head rested back. "Damnit..." He knew he was going to have to learn to fight. He just didn't want to.

'GIRL of Steel' Being the new girl that she was, Rose had not the slightest clue where to start. Her head was throbbing to the point of no return, as if something wanted to be let out. But she didn't allow such a thing to bother her excessively for she had pills to calm the migraines down––or so she thought. Reaching into her backpack she realized she came across ten throwing knives, a wakizashi, an excruciating amount of candy, and an mp3 player. Rose stared into her bag for a moment, wondering exactly how could she have brought the wrong bag. Seeing as how she was late to school today she had entered a back way so that she wouldn't earn a demerit; therefore, her bags weren't checked. This was entirely embarrassing. But her head had begun to ache more and more by the minute, to the point where it felt like it was about to split. Suddenly, it stopped. Rose's hair had been within a ponytail the moment she arrived, but would then take it out of that style. She made her way toward the girls bathroom in the library before heading to scope the scenery. Fixing her hair she would allow it to be let down, falling about passing her shoulders and stopping at her lower back. She fixed her make up by placing a light-pink lip gloss onto her lips, applied eyeliner, and fixated her uniform to suit her more tastefully. Her uniform involved her removing the school jacket and tying it around her waste. She left her white top half-way buttoned, and loosened her necktie. Next, her skirt had been left the way it was as well. And lastly, her thigh-high white socks and ankle heeled boots had been left alone. So not much was changed really. Having fully fixed herself more accustomed to her liking, she was now feeling much better. "Alright Rose, sit back, and enjoy the show." She would flip her hair and would exit the bathroom. Walking out, she took notice of a student who looked like he would be her first target. This was going to be fun. Walking over to the four eyed student, she would slam her hand in front of him attempting to scare the boy, while almost knocking over his tea without care, and smiled cutely, "What'cha reading?" asked Rose. She was eager to bother the kid. He looked like a good target practice. MUSIC: PreachOUTFIT: School Uniform. TAGS: Luka GreenOOC: Let the split personality sequence begin~ |

"Hmm?" He turned his head, his hand dropping from his temples to see the Britney Spears music video extra asking him about his book. Her style was exhausted but she was pulling it off at least. He handed the book over to her to look at while he finished off his cup of tea. "Stephen King's The Shining, not a first edition or anything but a paperback fifty cent copy used for highlighting purposes."
He wasn't really sure about this girl, didn't really know much about her other then the fact that she was extremely attractive and liked to feel good about it with her style. She probably dressed for herself, as most people did when they wanted to look good. Self entitled assholes usually thought it was to gain attention but it's typically to feel good about oneself.
"I enjoy your take on the school uniform. Most don't bother to wear it, but your choice seems to scream fuck you to the very idea of a uniform by making it out as something that might be distasteful to administration. So for that, I give you a golf clap. For looking very good while doing that, I add two claps." He gave three small golf claps. "So, you read King?"

'GIRL of Steel' People still made copies of this guy's book? Honestly, Ros–no, let's stop calling her that. Rose was out for the time being. Only the Iron Maiden was here. She stood in within arms reach sitting upon the table, and replied to his first statement, "Wearing the uniform wasn't my choice. If I had awoken on time, mI would've had the choice." Of course, he didn't understand what she would mean by that statement so she wouldn't burrow deep into it. With a simple flip of the hair she would continue, "Anyways, I adore Stephen, his books allow my thought to drift more into a deeper thinking. Hehe, it's surely nice, my name is....I.M," spoke the Iron Maiden. "I have a friend named Rose, you'd like her. You both seem like book nerds, she knows more of Stephen King's work than myself. I'm more of a....physical activity girl." Her lips would curve slightly as they would manifest a coy smile. "Tell me, are you a fighter? I'm new to this school still. I heard there were a lot of delinquents here, what are you here for? You don't seem like a bad boy." Although looks could be deceiving. MUSIC: PreachOUTFIT: School Uniform. "Ahh, I see," He said when he heard her say that she was a more physical active person. He set the book to the side again and thought to himself 'methinks this one is flirting with me'. It may have been a little preemptive but he was going to go with it a little and sort of test the waters. "I'm more of a lover than a fighter," he explained. "And as for why I'm here, I guess that's the old prison trope question isn't it? The answer I should give is murder, it'd scare people away alright, so I'll go with that. I'm here for murder."
He wore a coy smile, wondering if she could gauge his reaction and suss out reality from what was just a facade. "Nice to meet you I.M., I hope to someday know if that's an initialism for anything. My name is Luka." He held out a hand to shake at this point, rising from his seat. Once the handshake was either met or rejected he would grab the small paperback and put it in his messenger bag, leaving the trash from his paper cup for tea.
"Since you're more into physical activity how about we walk and talk?" If she accepted he'd lead his way out of the library and down the hall.
