Things had been abnormal. And not in the usual about-to-fall-off-a-roof or fighting-a-ghoul-with-a-fire-extinguisher sort of way. It was something that had Ruby genuinely spooked--a chill that struck the very core of her being. Never, in so many years, did she feel like this. She never thought she'd feel like this ever, much less since things started to get so good upon arriving at the school. But finally, things started to make sense. After all, nothing good seemed to last too long with her, anyway. It was only a matter of time before something or someone came around to mess her up again. Right? That's the way it seemed. Ruby refused to let Mizu bother her on such a deep level that it would genuinely start to mess with who she was as a person, but still, he was bringing out a whole new side to her. A side she didn't particularly like, and that she wanted to permanently destroy. The girl lightly ran her fingers through her hair, gently tugging at the white strands that fell astray. She was stressed, yes, but also curious. Sure, Musashi had her interested when she thought no one could interest her quite like her brother had, and she still genuinely loved to spend her time with him... but this new boy, Mizu, who seemed to be the spitting image of him... there was something so alluring about him. Perhaps it was due to the fact that she could probably relate to Mizu more than she could Musashi... Ruby shook her head. No. She loved Musashi, and she couldn't think of a better use of her time than to be with him. He had a lot in common with her--and he got along with her better than most people did. Even though Mizu had so much more in common--so it would seem--she didn't want to get too attached. She felt like he was going to be a very bad influence... he'd bring out the worst in her and change her until she was no longer the person she wished to be... but still, she'd be so twisted at that point that she'd feel like she genuinely wished to be that way, though while she still had her sanity, she knew it to be untrue. She took a book from the shelf, hidden in the back of the library. She needed to calm down and to collect her thoughts. Going insane over this new guy wasn't the way to go. There was no way she would be able to keep her present state of being if she dwelled so much on him and how eccentric he was. She had to do this alone. It was her fight. She couldn't rely on anyone else to help her calm down or retain her state of mind. There was no relying on anyone else, so she needed to take serious attention to keeping herself the way she was. Yes, she had endless flaws and problems, but overall, she was happy where she was now. She had amazing friends and people she cared about with all of her heart. She'd finally got to learn her brother was alive again. She didn't want to mess it up after things had gotten so good. There was no way. Demon inside of her? Having more than one? The thought bothered her, and she wanted to scream out, saying it wasn't true, but regardless, she couldn't let herself slip into any sort of darkness. According to that young man, she was holding them off just fine, which was "amazing", but genuinely? Genuinely, ever since she met that young man, she was slipping back into her old ways, her tendencies from years ago boiling up and exploding from deep inside of her. She looked down at the book n her hand that she'd taken from the shelf. Her eyes were watering, but she blinked back tears. "I need help," She thought, looking at the book. It was a boring looking book, probably filled with old terms no one knew about. She didn't know why she was going to read it, it seemed to be on a subject she knew more than enough about... but she felt like getting a little reminder couldn't hurt. Ruby wasn't one to meditate, but she felt right now there was a need to do so until she cleared her conscious and could retain the person she wanted to be... the person she was. So yes, she was holding a book of meditation. And not the magical kind, or the usual kind either. It was a very old practice that had very little spiritual aspect to it. She didn't care to partake in "spiritual" things, it bothered her to do so, but reading things to help her clear her mind in the medieval sort of way shouldn't hurt. She knew this from experience. At least, she was sure she did?

"Oh, now that's interesting." Mizu set his eyes upon her before gazing around "She seems to be rather perked up. I guess it was what I said back then. I didn't expect her to take it so... personally. If I tell you, you have a demon inside you. No. Two demons inside you and that you're controlling them just fine, you tend to just brush it off." His eyes began to turn red again, but this time it was because he was curious, she was being rather weird. Her vibe was off the charts today and that was never a good thing... Though that doesn't mean it's exactly bad either. He continued to gaze at her for a couple minutes, watching her pick up a book and try to calm herself down "You're a very interesting girl, Ruby." he paused "Very interesting indeed..." Mizu slid on a bracelet that was in his pocket. It was nothing special, just a normal bracelet which he had got from a friend back in Tokyo. He used it to suppress his feelings. "Now, is that truly what's making you restless, Ruby? Or is it something else? I can't quite seem to tell..." he was still hidden in a shadow at the back of the room, also reading a book of his own choice.
But...
The book didn't have his interest at all. Again, it was this girl that was across from him, picking up books and reading them and all that cool stuff. She was restless inside but on the outside she seemed fine. He couldn't really see her face perfectly from here though, so he couldn't make out the expression she had on very well. "Now, do I approach you... or do I observe..." Mizu kept fixed eyes on her for a couple seconds before standing up, closing his book and slowly walking over to her. His feet carried him towards her silently and it seemed also ridiculous with the kind of clothes he was wearing but he was genuinely walking in perfect silence. As he got within arms reach, he elongated his arm out towards her and placed it upon her shoulder "Well, this is a nice surprise. How are you doing today, Ruby?" Mizu said with his red eyes gleaming down upon her, his black hair almost shadowing her.

Meditation... meditation... yes, it was a nice word. Even just relaying the word in her head was enough to remind her of what peace and tranquility it was. The stories of different techniques--even if she didn't believe in them entirely--was calming. Especially since this particular book derived from Medieval history. What memories that had for her. However, her calmness was short-lived, as she felt a presence behind her and someone place their hand on her shoulder before addressing her and speaking. How they managed to sneak up on her, she didn't know, but they nearly gave her a heart attack. She would respond on instinct and with a reflex, and she'd whip around and punch the creep that had managed to sneak past her sensing range and had approached her, her violet eye widening when she saw who it was. "M-Mizu...?" She asked, staring. It would be their second encounter but the first time that he'd seen her with the hood of her cloak down, and she regretted not wearing it up to conceal her face. Just great. It was the one sole person she wished to avoid at this time that happened to sneak up on her. Still, she supposed it made sense. It was only logical that he knew how to hide his presence. Ruby shook her head, scoffing and shutting the book closed. She'd turn on her heel and walk off, trying to avoid him. Of course, he bothered her so much that she was interested in him, but at the same time, she had to remind herself why she needed to stay away from him. She needed to calm down. She needed to remain the person she was. The girl would let out a small sigh as she tried to recollect her thoughts and emotions, managing to calm down. She would put on a calm front before looking over her shoulder at him. She could tell he wasn't about to leave her alone, so it would be no surprise if he'd tried to follow her. If that was the case, she would ask in a cool voice, "What do you want?" No, she wasn't trying to ward him off, but she inwardly wished he would leave her alone. Never had someone in the entire school bothered her so much, but she knew she was only so bothered because of how similar they were. Making an enemy out of him wasn't something she wished to do--especially since she could tell he would be very strong and powerful one day... but friendship seemed like a dangerous option right now, and she knew she had to be cautious around the young man.

Mizu looked at the girl as her fist connected with his stomach. Or rather... His clothing. His eyes turned into a darker shade of red and he looked down at the girl who seemed to be annoyed at him. He looked down at the spot she hit him at and tried to shake off the fact she just punched him. Usually he would have hit back but if she was friends with Ty, the outcome would be horrible. He gazed back at her when she asked him what he wanted.
He sighed.
"Am I not allowed to simply say hi these days without being slashed at or hit? I mean, damn. No need to be so violent. But whatever. Anyway, I simply approached you because you were here and you make me curious, so it works out, right? I mean, unless you honestly want me to just leave. That's what I can sense from you. I sense discomfort and you seemed okay before I was around but it got a lot worse... so I assume it is me." Mizu looked up at the roof and then back to Ruby who was standing there "Can I not have a civil conversation with you? I mean, it's rare to meet someone like you. I at least want to get to know you, if only a little..." he then sat down on a chair that was nearby and pulled another for Ruby, if she wished to sit. And then he would try begin a conversation "So... do you like reading? or are you just here to clear your mind. Or... both?" Mizu questioned with a grin on his face.

Ruby scoffed lightly at his words. Of course, she didn't mean to hurt him, or even to hit him, but he'd frightened her and she responded off of reflexes. "You're allowed to have civil conversations and say 'hi' to people," she stated. "And I'm sorry if I hurt you, it was a reflex. After all, you gave my heart an attack... or something." Because she could feel her heart rate speeding up, but she didn't know of the term "heart attack". She raised an eyebrow at what he said. He wanted to get to know her better? As if. She didn't honestly believe that she'd ever trust him in that sort of way. Or anyone other than Musashi, if she were to be honest with herself. The girl glanced at the chair, and wondered if she should take a seat. The last time she encountered him, he threw her spirit all out of whack, and she was still trying to recover. Who knew what would happen this time? Ruby would lightly shrug, saying, "I like to read." It was a blunt response, but it wasn't a lie. She didn't understand so many modern books these days, and she found no interest in them... but despite how people could assume she was a fighter and nothing more, she had a lot more to her than most people would assume. Yes, this girl who got into fights a lot and was slightly aggressive actually did enjoy simple little things like taking walks and reading books. People didn't know this about her all that well, but she adored the night sky and gazing at the stars. To her, it didn't seem too odd that she enjoyed things like reading, but perhaps to others it might have been out of her character to do such a thing... ironic, as it was actually from reading that she learned how to speak English. Cautiously, the girl would take a seat. She'd sit with posture and place the book on her lap, folding her hands together and resting them on its cover. "What do you want with me?" She wondered. "If you wish to bother me again, I suggest you don't. I can't promise that the outcome would be pleasant." Again, it could come off as a threat, but it was a genuine warning. If he was planning on causing trouble, regardless if he chose to or not, it was something she wanted to avoid. Still, she felt that even if he did try to mess with her, she would be a victim to his ways and would be unable to get out of the situation, ultimately losing her sanity... but she could only hope and pray that he did otherwise...

Mizu looked at her with soft eyes "Now. You have me all wrong. I am not trying to bother you. I am simply curious. Call it... Human nature. You interested me so now it's my job to find out more about you. Nothing is wrong with that, right?" He looked at her with cautious eyes. She was unsettled and apparently last time he bothered her. He wasn't trying to do that but was he really that unsettling that it bugged her? He returned to his favourite eye colour. Purple. "Now, I am simply wanting to get to know you a little better so that... we may be friends of the sort? I hate to give a negative impression to people. Especially someone "like" you." he glanced away for a second. He was trying to be normal but this was how he usually was. The only person that could maybe change his attitude to suit her was Ty but he hated when Ty did that. It was uncomfortable. Wait... maybe he was beginning to understand how she felt. This uncomfortable feeling rushing throughout his whole body and making him feel sick. "Get the fuck outta here Ty, you cocky shite." he thought to himself, grinning.
"So..."
"You're name is Ruby and you like reading books. You seem to conceal yourself a lot and you have two demons around and within you, yet you don't seem to notice at all. Just... who are you? In fact, out of curiosity... Just... how old are you?" Mizu gazed deep into her eyes. His eyes turned red once more, revealing his demonic soul that could be read through reading his mind with his eyes. You could see the suffering in his eyes and the pain that he carried. If Ruby decided to gaze back into his eyes. She would probably be sucked in or look away quickly avoiding his gaze/

"Oh?" Ruby asked, looking at Mizu. His gaze had softened, and despite how she didn't want to believe it, a part of her knew that he genuinely wasn't trying to bother her. "I guess there's nothing wrong with it... but it's certainly not your job, either..." She would say quietly. The girl would continue to listen to him as he talked, speaking words that were, from what she gathered, an attempt to calm her down. He wasn't really trying to bother her, and genuinely he was just curious about her. He didn't wish to make an enemy out of someone like her... and she wondered what he meant by that. She would remain silent as he started to give descriptions of her, as if to label her in his own mind. The odd girl who spiked his interest, because of how unique she was. Flattering, but it made her desire to be normal only that more strong. She must have had a hundred reasons by now as to why she wished to be anyone but herself. Normal. If she could at least pretend to be normal, or at least give that impression... well, at least she'd fit in more, and she wouldn't feel like she was so eccentric that people only liked her for that fact, or found her interesting because of it. Couldn't people just like her for being normal? Instead of because of how weird she was? The girl would sigh, closing her eye for a moment before saying, "I'm pretty sure I'm fifteen." She wasn't sure what her age was... after all, birthdays weren't things she celebrated much or kept track of. A part of her felt like she was older, but all the while, she was pretty sure she was only fifteen years old. That was her age, wasn't it? Ruby would open her eyes again, staring at the cover of the book on her lap so as to avoid eye contact. Go figure. There wasn't anything normal about her. Her name had a history to it, and she couldn't even remember her real name--how normal is that? She didn't know how old she was, and she was dressed in an entirely unusual way. Her hair was an abnormal color, having an eye patch was uncommon. She mentally cursed herself for being so weird. If she could only have put up a normal front and perhaps changed so that she was more like everyone else, perhaps she wouldn't have these weird encounters... "Why do you care?" Ruby asked. She didn't know how her age had anything to do with anything. But, a part of her had a feeling it was just because he was "curious" and "wished to learn more about her"... or something to that extent.

"Huh... Fifteen? Pretty young then." Mizu looked at her with a curious glimmer in his eyes. Her inner vibe... seemed to just die. It wasn't hyper-active anymore. It just seemed sort of depressed. And what did she mean by... "I'm pretty sure?"... She didn't even know her own age properly? What was with this girl. She got more curious by the second and it was bugging Mizu slightly. He looked at her and with assuming from her feelings and the emotions inside her, she was feeling down about not being normal. Well... It was him assuming that. But when he felt that way, he had the exact same vibe of emotions in him.
"You know..."
"Being /weird/ is better than being normal. Being normal is boring. If you're weird, you stick out more and people are afraid because you're not how they want you to be. You're different. You can act the way you want. Weird people are judged more simply because they are different and people can't handle different. It's actually why I was bullied. So, it doesn't matter if you're not normal or you're not /The perfect human/ being weird is better in so many ways." Mizu said to her with truth in his voice. He wasn't lying. Though, if that's not what was creating that strange vibe within her, she might call him a weirdo. He looked at her again. "It's like my eyes. I don't even really have control over what colour they change to. In fact, if I try change their colour on my own, it's extremely tiring. They just do it themselves but I can feel when they do."
Mizu gazed into her eyes as she asked him why he cared.
He let out a little sigh.
"Though I may appear as some monster to most. I am simply one who loves peace. I love seeing people happy and with smiles. So I get a little angry when people hit me. But that's fine since I brought it on myself a little. I do have an extremely violent side. But most people won't even see it in their lifetime so it's nothing to worry about. And my skill at reading people? That tends to be what drives people away from me most." Mizu began to look a little depressed. "It's usually the same thing... I try talk to people, read them and then try be friends. They get creeped out, hit me or scream and then run away. So, if you run away. Feel free, I'm used to it. Just know that I honestly mean no harm towards you unless you threaten me first or mean harm to me."

Ruby frowned slightly, looking at him. Processing everything he'd said and let out, she tried to figure out how to respond. At first she thought he was unnerving--and it was true that he was--but at the same time, she didn't want to think poorly of him just because of it. That would make her a hypocrite, after all. And it wasn't so much that he could do those things that bothered her (sure, it did bug her a little), it was more or less because of how much he reminded her of herself. She would lightly shake her head, scoffing slightly. "That's great that you don't see anything wrong with being weird, but that's not how I feel about it. What if I wanted to be normal like everyone else? Ever thought about that?" At this point, she didn't even question how he seemed to know what it was she was feeling. But being content with being weird? She could understand that being yourself was a good thing, and people couldn't understand so they respond in a negative way... she knew that more than anyone, it would seem. But genuinely? What if she truly just desired to be normal? If not even to be accepted. She knew she had friends and people who cared about her more than anything, but what if she genuinely wished to be normal, just for herself? It wasn't a thought that people pressed on her. "Oh, why can't you be normal? You're so weird, try being normal for once!" Nothing like that had happened. Of course, she was used to being hurt or beaten or ridiculed because she wasn't normal, but never once did people say she should try to be. It was a desire she'd created on her own. Giving a small sigh, she would shake her head. "Trying to make me feel bad for you isn't going to work," she said. "If that's what you were trying to do. Give a pity party so I'd feel bad for you and try to stay and talk? I just think it's fair to warn you that that's not how I work. To be frank, I'm weird like that too, so you'd think I would understand more than anyone else." She would gaze into his eyes, her violet iris giving of an intense stare. "Part of the reason why you bother me so much is because of how uncannily similar we are. It's unnerving. But I never thought myself the type to hate someone just because they're not like most people. I don't feel that I have that in me."

Her words were genuine and intense but they didn't move Mizu an inch "Sorry. I don't give a fuck what people feel about me. You can feel sorry for me, hate me, love me, like me and whatever else. But I never try make people feel sad for me. I can do that in my own time. Pity party? No thanks." he said with a chuckle. "And I did think about that..." his eyes turning to an intense red. "If you think I'm trying to make you stay. Then how about I leave?" he would run into her again. He was positive of it. But for now, he was going to leave her alone to think about everything he had said. Sure she had good points. But he was stubborn. She probably was aswell if he was honest. "I'll catch up with you later, Rubster." He said in a sarcastic tone.
He opened the door and walked out slowly walking through the hallway towards his next class. As he did he gave her a small smile. Mizu was a few minutes early so he could just sit in the next class and doze off for a little while.

Ruby grinned. It was more of a smirk, but there was no evil intentions, she was quite pleased with what he'd said. "Alright, good. I'd hate it if you were that sort of person," she said. She would let the boy leave before giving a small wave and saying, "I'll see you around, then!" She didn't quite know how to respond to her new nickname. But hey, it was better than being a figment of death that came to people who were dying, right? Not that she wasn't flattered with being mistaken for a Valkyrie and considered an angel, of course.
