A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Sitting on a rock that was some miles away from the school and the city, I watched the full moon project its image on the calm clear water that stood before me. I watched my own reflection, but my reflection was not my own, it was my counterpart's image.
"Am I just part of the Darkness now? Am I not myself anymore?"
I looked up at the moon aand then back at the reflective water. The silent brezzez that shook the trees in the forest came every now and then.
"I'm not really myself...I'm just a power hungry warrior..."

It was miles away from most common civilization. True. And it was also a late hour, also true. But that was the entire point. Most people would be in bed at this time, or they'd be up in the city. But way out in the wilderness? It hardly seemed like anything anyone would do. And Ruby was't trying to be weird and be out and about so late at night, but she couldn't help it.
The city's smog masked the sky in a dark grey cloud, and it was a rather sad sight to her. Even at night, New York's skies were light--illuminated by the city lights reflecting on the thick layer of smog. But out here? The skies were clear, and Ruby could see something she was quite fond of: the stars.
She had come out here for the sole reason of stargazing. It was something she'd always enjoyed since childhood--and it was one of the few things she had fond memories of.
However, as she approached the designated area, she happened to cross Alex from the Titans. She thought it odd that he was out here at so late at night, but then, so was she. Ruby stared at him for a moment, contemplating. Out of all of the Titans, he was the one she knew the least about. She was closer to Musashi than anyone--aside from her brother, of course. Dan was a good, good friend of hers that she admired, Yvette was one of Ruby's few female role models and... well, Ruby thought of her as precious. She was really, truly nice, and it was quite possible that the two of them could relate more than anyone else in the Titans. Ruby wasn't too close to Finn, and though the thought of him exposing his chest bugged her lightly, she still liked him a lot. He was nice, and very, very sweet... besides, she found his red eyes fascinating and inspiring. But Alex? He was shrouded in mystery--his very being like the darkness to Ruby. He was unknown.
Ruby saw this as a rare opportunity to perhaps try to bond with him a little, and if not, at least learn more about him. She didn't know his full name, what he was doing in the Titans, or even if he was good or bad...
The white-haired girl would approach the water and lightly place a hand on Alex's shoulder, giving a small smile. "Hey, Alex," she'd say calmly for once, rather than exclaiming things. "What are you doing out here?" She wondered aloud. The girl would take her hand off of his shoulder, not wishing to make him uncomfortable, but still hoping he would respond...

My eyes kept looking at the reflective surface of the water, and the eyes that stared back where not mine, it was my dark counterpart. Then I saw Ruby enter the reflection and put her hand on my shoulder.
"What are you doing here at such late hours?"
My voice seemed a bit dark, but normal as if my two different personalities spoke at the same time.
"I'm sorry. I'm having a bit of trouble that I have to overcome myself. If you want, you can stay here and do what you wish. I was just in a state of deep thought."
I didn't want to be mean, but somehow it felt natural. Has my darkness have now control outside my dark form.

"Well, I initially came here to stargaze," she said. "But I think that getting to see you will lead to something a lot better." Ruby couldn't help but to smirk at that. She wasn't being sarcastic, but her smile wasn't quite as pure as usual--it had a hint of playfulness in it.
However, her expression would drop at what he said next, and she placed her hands on her hips, frowning at him a bit in concentration. "What is it you need to deal with? I might just be able to help, you know," she said. In fact, Ruby could probably help with more situations that were considered unusual than most. What she wasn't good at, however, was giving advice with normal situations. Besides, if there's one thing she'd learned... it was that when you were going though a troubling time, even if you didn't think you wanted it, having someone by your side was the best thing in the world... and it was much, much, much better than doing things alone.
Ruby would cock her head to one side and then ask, "So, what is it? And come on, don't be shy to tell me. I'm pretty sure I've heard some pretty crazy and serious things before, and if something's troubling you... well, we're comrades, right? I want to do my best to be there for you if I can--especially if I can," she said, lightly and playfully nudging him. She wanted him to know that she was a safe person to talk to, and that she was a friend. Even if she didn't really know him well enough to really be a friend, he was a Titan, and that meant something to her.

I smiled at bit at her, but then I gave her a slight frown. Ruby was kind to a person that has been seen by everyone else as a monster, a villain, a person following his own dark ambitions.
"I know you want to help me, but you can't fix this. Its something I must do alone."
I looked toward Ruby.
"But I am glad you see me as a comrade and not some dark beast."

Ruby gave a small nod, respecting his wishes. "Well, if you say so," she said. She was very, very familiar with most things, and she was sure that she could still help him... even if it was something he had to do on his own, she felt perhaps she could give advice... but he probably would not have possibly known that about her.
However, when he spoke about himself with a negative sort of tone of voice, it caught her attention. Of course, recent actions had made her wonder if he was really a "good guy" or not, but yet, he was a Titan. Musashi had to have seen something in him to let Alex join--just like he'd seen something in her, even when she couldn't. But of course, Ruby knew that no one was truly evil--at least, she didn't believe so. And the way he spoke... it reminded her very much of her own. She felt that there was no way she could see him as being truly evil when there was so much she recognized. She could already tell that he wasn't all what rumors displayed him as to be.
Even if the painted mask he wore was starting to dry. It didn't hide the truth.
"Well, of course I don't think you're some dark beast," she said. "I mean... if you're a beast, then I'm a demon." She couldn't help but to have a smile on her face. Sure, there were quite a few demons about her, but she couldn't help but to smile at the silly fact of the past--as painful as it may have been during one part of her life. "But I see that you've got two arms and two legs, just like me. You've got two eyes and a nose, just like me--just like anyone else, really. Even if you may act a certain way that's not necessarily good, or even if you have some dark and mysterious power... that doesn't make you a monster of some sort. Unless you physically changed into some sort of beast... I wouldn't believe it. And even then, I'd know that Alex's heart was somewhere down deep inside there." She would give a small smile.
For a short while, she would stay silent, letting her words sink in. Really, if anyone understood being considered a monster of some sort due to their mysterious powers, it was Ruby. Yes, she'd forgotten how to use those powers, but her past haunted her quite a bit still to this day. Even the scars on her body testified to how differently she was treated just because she was considered "an evil being that wasn't even human."
"But if you don't mind my asking," Ruby wondered aloud, "what is it you've got to do, anyway? Even if I can't help..."

"Well, I can turn into a beast when I'm angry..."
I said it in soft tone. It was true. I had sometimes gone berserk and done some things. But why was Ruby a demon? Did she also have a story similar to mine?
"I need to learn how to control this darkness in me. When the shadows consume me, its as if the dark side of my heart takes over and control me. And even if I'm not consumed by it, fragments of the darkness get stuck into the real me and affect me. If I keep raging havoc, I might not be me for a good time."
I looked at the water as I said this. It was then the darkness inside me reacted. I glowed a dark purple aura as the darkness started forming around me slowly.
"I know I've done villanous deeds in the past, buts its the other me that does this things. I dont want to do another evil deed here. You might want to find a place to hide before this darkness takes over. If I do harm you...get help...get Musashi, get someone to knock this darkness back."
The darkness started speeding up its procces.
"Hurry!"

Ruby stared at Alex as darkness started to consume him. However, she wasn't afraid. In fact, she took no heed to his warnings. "Calm down," she'd say in a calm voice. Ruby would gently take his hand and look him in the eyes. "In order to push back the darkness... you say someone else has to knock it back, but really, all they do is trigger you into thinking something--you're the one that pushes it back, whether you realize it or not," she'd say, despite the darkness growing. It didn't seem to affect her, however...
She was quite aware of how this in particular worked. No, she was not like Alex in that she did not have something inside of her that was controlling her, but she knew the rage all the same. She remembered more than anything that only one person was ever able to snap her out of her rage--but it wasn't that he did anything. It was her own mind reminding herself of someone who was dear to her--she was reminding herself of a very legitimate reason to stop. Ruby knew he could do the same.
"You just need to think of a reason to stop the darkness from consuming you--give yourself a reason to fight back. Even if it's for someone dear to you--or even for your own sake which is just as important," she would explain. "And as for the darkness? Don't worry, I've got a light that's a lot stronger," Ruby said with a small smile. Of course, according to someone she'd recently met, she had a demon inside of her... all people apparently did--but rather, she had two. Still, she knew she was unaffected because deep inside, she knew that there was a light within herself that burned even brighter than all the darkness of the world. She had absolute faith that she would be fine, and she also had faith that Alex would be able to calm himself until the rage subsided...

I tried calming myself down. At first it seemed easy, but then I started to remember the past. Then Shugo and after I saw him in my mind there was no way to calm down. He was a bomb of rage inside me. Thats when I got consumed fully. The darkness consumed the real me and changed me. Clothes turning pitch black to show that I was pure darkness. " Ahh, Shugo always makes Alex let go." The dark counter part had taken over. Shadow turned to see Ruby with his glowing blue eyes. " You tried your best but you couldn't save him. It must be truly heartbraking to see a comrade go, but he will come back so don't cry yet." Jumping off the rock and landing meters behind Ruby, Shadow would give a little smile. "Be ing free for the umpteenth time feels great. Now let's see what should I do while little Alex takes a nap." He turned around, back facing her. "W ell, I might as well make sure that I am fully prreapered to take on the high ranks and get my hands on that girl." Grabbing Alex's sword, which was technically his he rushed at Ruby and got ready to attack. " If I can defeat you, maybe I might have a chance at hurting the emerald I seek." •°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•

Ruby stared at the darkness that took over her comrade, and she narrowed her gaze at it. Ruby would let go of Alex's hand as he seemed to loose all control, and then the Darkness spoke. The beauty of his eyes did not match his voice--sure, it was as smooth as silk and as sly as a fox's, but Ruby knew it was only as a snake's: deceiving and evil.
"I know he is not lost," she said. "And it would be sad to lose him. Though personally I've had worse happen," the girl would mutter.
She would draw her own sword and run at the Dark Alex that was charging at her. Little did he know that he was against a master and she could probably not be taken down--not while she had her sword, anyway. "Which girl are you speaking of?" She would ask with a calm voice as she nonchalantly dispelled his first attack, as though it were nothing. "I don't think you can take me down personally, but who is this emerald?" Ruby knew that he was referencing to someone else--and now she really wanted to know.

" Ohh this emerald is a wise girl...Shugo's little precious gem that once i get ahold of, i can take everything he loves and crush it. Do you know who it is?" Clashing with Ruby, Shadow kicked the girl on her feet and slashed her in her chest. " You can't save Alex in this state. He is just a vessel for me, an energy source for me to feed on. One day, he would be completely me, just let him turn into me enough times." If Ruby attacked, Shadow would counter it with clashing their swords every time she wanted to hit him. " And if you hit me, you will only hurt Alex, so unless your want your comrade to somehow suffer, I suggest you let go." •°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•

The name sounded familiar, but yet, she was sure she'd never actually heard it before. "I'm sorry, but I don't know who that is, I don't even know who Shugo is," She'd state. "But it would be cruel to harm someone just to hurt someone else. Do you have any idea how painful it is to watch the one you love perish before you? Even Alex should not commit such a horrible crime... harming an innocent person... that goes against what I believe in."
She would block his attack and jump back slightly, getting some small distance from Dark Alex. She would listen to his words, and she could tell that he was a very good swordsman... he must have been as decent as her in order to see most of her attacks and block them. "You're right, attacking you would just hurt Alex... but you're wrong about some things," she'd state. "He's a lot more than just a vessel, and you have no right to take over his body. He's a person, whether you wish to believe it or not. And though I do not wish to hurt Alex... I am not afraid to, especially if it means driving you out of him!" She'd rush forward and slash her sword at his side.
The girl used to fight people all the time--so much so that she wasn't considered like most regular humans. One of the people she fought the most in training was the one dearest person to her, and though she did not like harming him, accidents happened and they both survived. She knew how to inflict minimal damage to Alex but still stall enough time... she had a feeling this Darkness wouldn't last forever.

Shadow took the hit, but it felt as if he got a giant papercut in the side. But the the place where the sword slashed him released some darkness. "It's almost my time..." He started rushing at Ruby and attacked once more, this time the trajectory was to the top of her head. Once he was there, he used all his strenght to stab it in her head but... "No." The blade would stop inches from her head and the dark Alex would look like he was frozen in time. The darkness started to disappear slowly, but in those final moments in which the darkness controled Alex, Shadow spoke once more. "You can't get rid of me even if you wanted to for I am only darkness, darkness feeding on the growing shadows in Alex's heart.." And with that, the darkness started to disappear and left just Alex pointing a blade at Ruby. Grabbing my blade and putting it in my belt, I just walked past Ruby and back to the rock that stood in the reflective water. "I'm just a demon, a monster that almost killed my comrade due to Shadow. I have caused so much havoc. Ruby, I'm sorry, but this act of pure evil can never be forgiven. I sometimes think what Musashi sees in me, a dark beast or a warrior." That's when I felt I was going to pass out. I felt dizzy and my vision was blurry. Then I felt water covering me. It seemed like one of those moments when people pass out for some seconds or minutes. But when you pass out and fall into water, there is nothing people can do. Someone either comes to the rescue or let's them drown. " I see Alex... The Darklord.." The Hattori spoke coming slowly from out of the darkness himself. Musashi was in his usual all black attire, with his black cloak covering most of his body. " Honestly though, if you would have continued that assault I would have had to put you down myself kid. Can't have you hurting my right hand woman." He'd say with a smirk on his face as he'd walk over to Alex, but not before staring intensely at Ruby. He'd speak no words to her, instead the Hattori would just let the emotions in his face do the talking. It had been awhile since the last time he got to see her. He missed her a lot, but he knew that this right here wasn't the time for that. He instead hoped that in returned she'd give him the same look before he turned over his attention to Alex who standing along on the Rock. He knew that the kid had to be going through a lot, but lately when it came to him he had clearly been failing as a leader. He never took the time to actually talk about what was going on with him so that he could understand him more clearly. All that he really knew was that he had a strong vendetta against the Yuy's, and for that reason alone he too a mental note and forgave him for what happened against Riot. However, he couldn't help but feel like there was more to this situation than just the Yuy's. " Al--" He'd try to speak before watching the kid fall over in the water in front of him. Musashi immediately sprang into action, taking off his cloak revealing him to be in this attire. He didn't get to see much of the action that went on between he and Ruby. In fact the only thing he managed to see was the part right before he attempt to hit ruby in the crown on her head with his blade. Luckily the kid had stopped, because if he didn't he was probably going to find himself in the hospital, but that was all in the past right now. Diving into the water he swim as quick and fast as possible before successfully grabbing the kid and swimming back up to shore. Because he simply fell in they wouldn't be too far from land and from there he'd simply lay the kid onto the grass. " Damn kid you.... You sure are a handful." The Hattori spoke sighing as his body begin to engulf in a red aura reflecting that of heat radiation. This warmed him up as well as drying his cloths off. " Your not dead are you? Because I sure as hell ain't doing mouth to mouth." |
