Was the fact that Zoe made it a habit to snoop around teacher's personal affects and or classrooms slightly inappropriate? Yes it was. Did that stop her from doing so? No it did not. In fact, right now, that was what she was doing. The girl would open the door to the classroom of a certain home economics teacher who had a bit of a strange reputation. Zoe wasn't sure how much of it was truth and how much of it was just the students of 552 exaggerating. Still, it didn't hurt to check, right?
So, here she was, leaning over his desk as her hands danced across his keyboard. The teacher's ID was still plugged in- so everything was open to be used. Lucky, huh? This kept her from having to hack into the system... Not only that but she could swipe the ID while leaving to have some access for a bit to download some files from the school's database without alerting them to a hacker. As she went through his system a file caught her eye.
”Masks and Qi Users...?” she muttered under breath while clicking on the file to read through what it said. The girl frowned. This teacher was keeping track of Qi users and the masks they wore... Huh... She narrowed her eyes in silence while reading them. He had taken note of groups like Hyperion who all wore masks too... Exactly how much did he know? She smirked somewhat was the mention of a certain masked electricity user who displayed magnetic abilities as well. How neat.
Zoe would continue to go through the files in silent- trying to find out more while keeping the masks and qi users file open.

It had taken months to plan this, getting everything together, formulating research, synthesizing an environment. Finally the days of digging and wondering came to an end. Having left his classroom for some time to hit the green house to check on his newest recipe, it clicked he had left his ID in his computer. He would have to sit down and talk to himself about why that's a bad thing. However, right now he didn't care so much. He was digging and digging under his plants until finally he found it. The shimmer of a light blue stone. It was hardly larger than a grape, but it filled Asiv with wonder and joy. Thrusting it into a handkerchief and placing it in his breast pocket he would make for a sink to wash his hands.
Zoe would find other files.
"Qi, Side effects" Which would have a list of people suffering some good or bad side effects of their abilities, such as one person who's skin is literally ice cold, someone else who was going blind, and a poor young man who was destroying his mind every time he used his Qi.
"Categories, Sub Categories" A compiled verse of three primary categories 'Mental' 'Physical' 'Elemental'. And sub categories for their uses and effects.
"Code: Mitsoumi" this file however needed a key to decipher.

Zoe's eyes widened in silence as she looked over the files. Qi side effects? She bit down on her lower lip. The girl leaned forward and begin to type rapidly, trying to find something similar to what could possibly be happening to her. When she finally found the records on the young man who's mind was being destroyed by his qi, Zoe attempted to find more information. How was his mind being destroyed? Was it his memory? His sanity? She'd continue to go through other files all the while.
When she got to the categories, Zoe paid little attention to them. She had figured that out somewhat on her own. What really interested her was the one that needed a key to decipher. Zoe would begin trying to figure out the key in silence- even attempting to hack through the program to figure it out.

Asiv would finish washing up before making his way back into the school, hands in his pockets as he made his lazy slow walk to his class.
"Day 1. ********. Subject is a highly intelligent prodigy. Beyond what I've come to suspect from even a possible Qi user. Problem solving, survival, leadership, adaptation... You couldn't get any closer to (Redacted) if you wanted to."
"Day 47. ********. Subject has made it through every stress test. Artificial Ripple ineffective. Gamble Fruit, ineffective."
"Day 102. *******. It's happened, the (Redacted) has happened and unlocked Qi within the subject. He is amazingly powerful. Subject has adapted so fast to his abilities it's like he has always had them."
"Day 177. *******. We seem to be showing signs of an odd side effect. The other day He asked me if his parents were going to visit today... They haven't visited since Day 4."
"Day 265. ********. Subject is not (Redacted). His ability seems to be too powerful, putting out more energy than his body can handle. It is damaging his psyche. His memory is shot, his grip on reality is faulty. We may have to end testing."
The key seems to need a key phrase to understand the writing. The program itself seems to only aid in a recently deleted word. "Ripple Project".

The girl could feel her shoulders tremble in silence as she eyed the screen while reading through the information and records of the subject. The files were uncanny... Still, Zoe would close them out after trying to figure out what actually wound up happening to the boy. Did they even say what happened to him? When did this event happen... Was he still alive- could Zoe possibly try to find him?
She'd look over to the other window afterwards and bite down on her lower lip while trying to go through any patterns in the program. She'd try to input random keys to the file according to the recently deleted word as well in an attempt to make sense of it all.

She would find that the boy's current status was "Booster Project: Active". Her figuring for the key would reveal that both the Ripple Project and Booster Project were connected by a theory based on an excavation site somewhere in China.
However the door would open and there would stand the home ec teacher. Who simply stared for a few seconds.

Zoe froze as the door opened and the home economics teacher walked in. Glancing at him, she smiled weakly before frowning silently. The girl would stare at him as he stared at her. Taking in a deep breath, she calmly asked him:
”Yes? How can I help you?”

Asiv stared blankly, his eyes partially open. Taking his hands from his pockets at her words he would reach into his jacket pocket and pull out his pack of smokes, putting an unlit one in his mouth. The cig was bent and smashed in places.
"Yeah... What are you reading? Anything good?"

Zoe eyed the cigarette silently. Did he break it with his hands? Was he that upset that a student was going through his computer? She'd keep up the weak smile as she rubbed the back of her head and laughed lightly.
”Haha caught me didnt you?” she asked. ”I was trying to find out if I could access the grades for some of my classes with your teacher's ID.”

"Oh? So looking to modify your grade, or just curious if you could do it?"
Asiv had no information on this student. Which wasn't completely unheard of, he didn't like flying blind though. He'd walk over to the desk and pick up a piece of paper and begin folding it a few times to make a little box.

As he spoke, Zoe would subtly move the mouse to exit out of the files and return to the computer's desktop. She shrugged silently as the smile stayed on her face. ”The second one. I was just curious sir.”
Her eyes would follow the piece of paper as he began to fold it. ”So am I in trouble or can I go?”

Asiv ignored the move to close whatever she was doing on the computer he assumed she was snooping.
"Well I can't very well hold you for curiosity. What kind of shaper of young minds would I be? However, hacking, even if it was a security issue and not you breaking into the computer is something you are in trouble for."
Mr. Asiv would wait for a short moment, before an idea hit him.
"However you seem bright. So your punishment will be to assists me with a problem. Savvy?"

Zoe's smile faltered for a moment as he spoke of holding her for hacking. Great. The one time Zoe wasn't actually hacking, she was getting in trouble for it. She sat there silently as the man seemed to be waiting for something. When he mentioned assisting him with a problem, the girl cocked a brow.
”Er a problem? What kind of problem?”

Mr. Asiv grinned and would ask her to stand before getting on the computer and pulling up a device schematic that appeared to go an the entire arm.
"I'm using a synthesized crystal to power this device and everything about the original crystal has been recreated... Except for the effect it has on people. The device only enhances the person and not their Qi."

Zoe's features would remain confused and as if she was just trying to smile weakly through everything. The girl would move when he asked her to and eyed the device schematic as it was brought up. Her facial expression would remain confused but her eyes would shift to quickly look over the schematics and memorize them.
”E..eh? That looks.... really complicated sir... I don't think I follow... erm, what's a Qi?” she asked, feigning dumb.
