There is an emptiness beyond describing when you lose someone. However for Yin it was completely different. He felt it when Yun died, like a cold breath washing over you. There was a pain in Yin's chest that went unexplained for a day or two. You see, Yin and Yun are twins... Were twins. Yin had been in California trying to make a name for himself and cut some room for his brother. However that didn't pan out either as Yun mentioned The Lightning Gang and Leon Sudeki... The crew sounded like a good fit, so Yin was trying to make it back to New York to join up. That's when the call came in.
"Yin?"
"Yeah."
"This is Leon, I think Yun told you about me."
"Yeah, I'm actually about to buy some tickets to head out that way and join up."
"Oh... You're completely welcome to joining. Yun told me a lot about you."
"Awesome, so what can I do for you?"
There was a long pause of silence.
"Leon?"
"Yin... A group called RIOT captured and killed your brother... As a warning."
Yin stayed silent. The cold breath returning to his form. He was waiting for the punchline, for this to me some drunken sad joke. Or maybe it was more that Yin didn't want to believe it true or possible. He knew though, he knew this truth somewhere within that Yun was dead. He couldn't explain it, but the shock was still present. He was empty, no emotions coming to him right now. Just silence... What do you say to that? You're brother is dead... How do you respond? How do you come to terms with that? Your entire life around someone, knowing that person better than you know yourself, and now that is gone.
"Yin... I'll pay the ticket, but you need to come to New York... We have to bury your brother."
"Yeah... I'll... I'll be there."
"I'm sorry. I wasn't there."
"It was RIOT, right? They will get theirs."
Yin hung up without another word and went to his room to pack. Throwing clothes into a bag he snuck out of the dorms at public high school number two-five nine. Off campus and to the airport. The next flight didn't leave until the morning, but he couldn't sleep. Decidedly he waited at his gate and practiced the martial arts he learned with his brother. Though it had changed a lot over the years to the more practical moves they learned from actually fighting, it was still the same at it's core.
Finally the flight left for New York and Yin was planning his next few moves carefully. So when he landed he had an idea of what to do. So he took tot he streets, going to Yun's apartment where they lived with their mom. She barely seemed to notice passed out in the living room. He threw his junk into the room, he didn't need to look in there right now. It would only prove to break his current resolve.
First thing was first. He went downtown into the alleys to find punks stalking around, flying colors of some kind. It took a few hours to get back into the groove of things, but eventually he found some guys. Walking up to them with his hands in his pockets he'd call out.
"Hey... Any of you know about a group called RIOT Squad?"
They took glances at each other.
"Sure, but what's it to you kid?"
He bared his teeth a bit. They where under estimating him.
"Tell me what you know, and you might walk away."
They thought this was funny up until they spotted the Lightning Bolt tattoo on his neck.
"Part of Lightning Gang, huh? What a joke. I heard they been at war with RIOT for almost a year. Every time they make a move people around them die. Get out while you can kid."
No that just wasn't how this was going to go.
"You got one more chance. Tell me, NOW."
He said as stern as he could. One of the three people spit to the side. And walked towards him, put a hand on his shoulder and went to throw a punch for Yin's stomach. Which would land, it was a good hit too, pushing him back and bending him over. The guy's grip on his shoulder holding him from going to far as he hefted Yin up by the jacket. Dropping him and clobbering Yin in the face as he fell throwing him a few yards into the street. They laughed and turned to leave.
"Where ya goin'?"
Yin said as he stood up, rubbing the red mark on his face.
"That was your last chance."
As he spoke the tattoo on his neck expanded to cover some of his back, some of his chest, his right shoulder and down to his right elbow, as well as the right side of his face, to the point it even appeared to cover the whites of his eyes. The guys backed up a bit, but it was too late, Yin attacked, moving at a frightening speed for them slamming his fist into the guy who hit him, aiming for the gut. The guy bent around Yin's fist like a wash cloth. Yin pulled it back as the guy began to lift off the ground from the impact, throwing a new punch up into his jaw, straightening the guy out again and sending him up and flying back over the other two who had only just taken a defensive stance on instinct alone.
One of them pulled a knife and lunged at Yin while his arm was still up from the upper cut, aiming to stab him between the ribs. Yin's other hand catching the wrist, but not before it cut into him just a bit. Yin bringing his elbow down on the guy's fore arm would break both bones, the knife and the guy's hand fell as Yin turned towards the guy slamming a palm strike into his pain ridden face. throwing him back as the last guy was already running for it. Hopeless as that was Yin caught up quickly and doing a simple soccer slide to trip him.
Once he fell flat on his face, Yin used the slide to get up quickly and pounce raising his right fist into the air as a blue flame like aura surrounded it.
"TELL ME!"
The guy would cover up and yell. He began to sing like a bird practicing for an opera. He got more than he bargained for. He got the location of where Yun was killed. The aura subsiding Yin would simply knock the guy out and make his way to the place he was told of. The tattoo retracting to it's original form as he calmed down.
"Tch, RIOT better be the real deal."
Entering the area he was told about, it would seem a truck was being loaded with stuff. Yin didn't care honestly, but he had to watch and plan this out. Three guys sure, but this was a bunch more and he was pretty sure he saw some guns. Shortest vengeance spree ever, right? So he observed in silence for some time. They barely seemed on edge if at all. Complacent as it were. Yin would wait until one of them was alone and he would strike fast. Activating the tattoo once more he'd rush the guy, grab him around the head and choke him out. Pushing him into some bushes Yin would jack his jacket and put it on.
Moving into the area he'd note a lot of them were around his age, so this wasn't going to be very difficult. In fact it wasn't very difficult, he got inside the building without even a second glance, which put him a bit on edge. Red flags going off through out his mind as he looked around, picking up a box and carrying it with him in case someone asked questions. Until he found the room the cut took place. Evident by the red stain, chair, and tools they used for torture. Putting the box down he looked around for some clues and found some personal effects of Yun's. Then Yun's phone. Checking it over there were pictures of LG and fun times, then pictures of the torture, pictures of the slice across his brother's neck.
Finally pictures of a guy holding Yun's severed head. He had his target now. Putting the cell phone in his pocket he'd pick the box back up and leave the room, now it was time to find the guy with a death warrant. He walked up to a guy who seemed to be in the know.
"Hey, did you get that mass picture they sent out of that LG guy we killed here?"
The guy laughed a bit.
"Yeah, boss thought it was a good use of snapchat."
"Yeah, I'm new and I'm supposed to bring the box to the boss, but I have no idea where he is, they just told me to use the picture to find him."
The guy chuckled.
"Fuckin idiots. He's up stairs, third door down."
~Tch, who's the fuckin idiot.~
The guy paused for a moment, staring at Yin like something was wrong.
"Alright, thanks man."
Yin would turn to leave, the guy was left stumped over something. Yin could feel that a part of his tattoo was showing, but he was pretty sure it wasn't obvious at this point with the collar flipped up. Either way he had to be careful. Making his way up stairs he put the box down on the steps and moved down the hall way listening for voices and foot steps. He heard voices coming from the room he was told about. He couldn't hear how many people were in the room, but enough. He'd knock a few times.
"Come in."
Yin would open the door.
"Hey boss."
"What is it?"
"Well the guys down stairs could use a few more for moving the current shipment. We got word of a crew having plans to jump our trucks tonight."
The guy slammed a hand on the desk.
"Fuckin' Orochi isn't it? Fine, Mark get down there with the boys and cover that shipment."
One of the people in the room nodded and grabbed all but two of the people in the room. Leaving it at that Yin entered the room when they left. Looking around quickly he saw a large hunting knife on the desk in front of the guy. That was the one from the picture. It was now or never, before he noticed Yin was still there, he grabbed a chair and propped the door quickly spinning around activating the tattoo again for more speed, taking his jacket off in the spin and throwing it at the two guys in the room as he charged, leaping over the desk putting both hands down on the desk and throwing a kick for the seated boss.
The kick pushing him back into the wall as Yin grabbed the knife, ducking low and stepping diagonal around the boss, grabbing him by the chin and holding the knife to his neck, hiding behind the boss and the chair as the jacket was thrown down with pistols aimed. Yin moved quickly to unarm the boss and toss the gun to the side.
"There is no way out. Let him go."
Yin checked and saw a window behind him. Knowing full well it would be a hell of a chance run if he jumped for it.
"I don't think so, see where I come from if you kill someone's brother... You kill them back."
The door was now being beat the shit out of as the two guys spread out to cover the exit. The boss chuckling a bit.
"Oh? Who's brother are you then?"
This pissed Yin off a bit.
"Yin Oguri, you cut off my brothers head."
"That's not all... I tortured him first. He kept his mouth shut too. However you should of heard Sudeki when all he could hear was your brother drowning on his own blood."
Yin knew what he was doing, trying to get him to make a mistake, or kill him prematurely so they could get him.
"Too bad for you, no one will care while you drown on your blood."
Yin would yank the guy to a standing position, pull him back until Yin's back was against the window.
"Now, die."
Yin slit his throat, and threw his body at his men as he jumped against the window falling outside landing in a roll and sprinting off as a few bullets whizzed by from the window. It was time to go meet up with the rest of LG and finish this war.
