notes:「今、私はそれについて考えることは、私はかなりひどくI.なかった失われました " @tagged words: More than enough, trust me. | It's easy to say Noriko's abilities aren't exactly normal-or, that was the case outside of school. As she walked around the district, Rei couldn't help but remember the day she gained the ability to use her powers. It was really all thanks to her friend Vincent. He was one of the students at the other school. The one she transferred from. Noriko began to recall that day. "I don't get why you guys think the roof is SOO cool, but it's off limits." That's just it; everything WAS cool about the roof, nor was it off limits from the presence of a rather serious Noriko, resting at the safety bars. Obviously, Arose was mistaken. She was waiting for Vincent as a matter of fact. Prior to her entrance onto the roof, she had left a note on his locker saying:"Meet me on the roof. PS:Bring $1.25. You still owe me for the ice cream.-Noriko Well, it was too good to be true. When Vincent looked inside of his locker, he would see the note, and it turned out, he was going to end up paying for the Ice Cream. Or did he? That was not what he wanted to do, there was so many other things in life that he could do with that money. For example, he could get himself an expensive bottle of heart healthy water, instead of pay it on some fatty flavorless "Treat". So instead, he would look up from the paper and walk over to the rooftop, which would not take too long since he had this place memorized from inside and out now. Hopefully she would be there right now when he got there. Noriko would look to the stairs as she heard the sound of steps. Vincent appeared after a few short moments. Noriko would look at him with a sort of neutral face. "You know, you didn't have to come. B-but if you wanted to that badly I won't stop you." This statement probably made little sense, especially considering she left the note in Vincent's locker (somehow) in the first place. Noriko hadn't mentioned the debt, nor did she honestly care about it or make an attempt to hold it against Vincent. Vincent decided to play along with her, in the end, if she asked for the money, he would have the final laugh. His casual calm signature facial expression was shown, calm but happy to see this person. This could be the moment to ask her about what she knew, but she didn't seem like she wanted to create a dark moment, and he refused to do that either. Yeah, I couldn't wait to see you again. He would answer before closing the door behind him so no one would notice two people who have entered the rooftop. His eyes would then shift towards her direction again. So what's this business that you care to speak to me about? The Junior would ask, going directly to business. For some reason, he just felt like going to the point and being blunt today. Though his usual playful persona was still there, he would more likely just speak serious talk. Noriko seemed oblivious to Vincent's first statement, more concerned about how she was going to word her explanation for his next question. "Well you already know about "that". So you know I was trained for special purposes, and special abilities. I believe the officials call them Qi. I was supposedly born with several, but due to my weak body, I never learned how to access such prowess. I want to fight you. " Noriko stared for a moment before looking away with her eyes closed and nose held high. "I'm not asking for help or anything, I just felt someone should really show you big shot's your place." Now this was definite worth Vincent's time, she wanted to fight him to try to unlock her Qi. Well, it was worth a shot, besides, he had to pay her back for being such a Tsun sort of person, and now he had an excuse to do so. Admittedly, he did like that sort of persona, a strong and independent woman who sets goals and works hard to achieve them, even if it means that she would have to fight the "Big Shots" like Vincent, though he did not like to consider himself any more special than anyone. That was definitely a compliment though, and he was going to capitalize on it. "Did you just call me big shot? Awww, am I that strong to you? I'm flattered." He would tease before placing his fists up, a silent sign of his acceptance to the challenge that she had proposed to him. With that, he would then continue on. "You want your Qi? Are you going to let me get away with that? Prove it to me then, make your move and prove you can hold your own." Noriko flinched slightly, but did not blush at Vincent's tease. It seemed he accepted her challenge, and was getting pretty cocky as well. "Your gonna wish you didn't say that." Noriko didn't waste another moment. She charged towards Vincent before throwing a spinning air kick aimed at his left side. One thing Noriko didn't know however, was how unbelievably OP'd Vincent was to be a boss this early on in the game. It was almost unfair. Vincent had to give her credit for being unique in her approach. She didn't aim for a right hook or a fake move before a real one, both which he can avoid and or block easily. Still though, her approach was not something he was unfamiliar with. So he'd quickly put his right hand up to catch her leg, just the area above her ankle before he would then lock eyes with her for a few seconds if she were looking his way. With quick reaction, he'd up end stomping his right foot on the ground, and a quick stalactite would then form in front of him, where his opponent was standing. If this were successful, it would launch her a few feet into the air, an approximate 2 feet since she was within sweet spot range. This would force him to let go, and he'd jump back, but the result would be worth it. If she dodged it, he'd prepare for a counterattack. Vincent launched a stalactite at Noriko after catching her leg, but But in the long run, this outcome was planned for. The first attack was to simply test what Vincent had, so now she knows of his Qi, or at least one of them. Noriko got up and smiled. It was his turn to make an attack. She took the hit with a lot less grace than Vincent expected. Fortunately, the most she looked was winded before she then stood back up onto her feet once again. Now it was his turn to make a move. The Junior would quickly run towards her before he would then put his right fist up. No faking, no hooks, but when he would get to her, he'd punch quickly towards her stomach. If this were successful, the impact would make her flinch since he did not dedicate all of his strength behind it. From there, he'd capitalize by punching the stomach with his left fist to make her flinch once again. Finally, he'd jumped into the air and aim a high right kick to the face. If successful, blurred vision for seconds to come. However, he would not take advantage of that, this wasn't a serious fight after all. He's too fast. "What to do, what to do?" Noriko thought frantically as Vincent charged her. She needed her Qi NOW. But even concentrating hard couldn't bring forth her abilities. Before she knew it, Vincent was there. He struck her with two quick blows to the stomach which caused Noriko to cough. However, she managed to move her head within inches from the head kick, to which she caught, pulling Vincent forward to allow herself (once letting go of the leg) to quickly jump and attempt to ram her knee into Vincent's chin. "I'm really not much of a melee fighter, but this will have to do for now."she thought. She got Vincent's leg before letting it go, a smart one as he then was pulled. If she were a little stronger, she might have gotten him, but even with the delayed reaction time and sudden shock from the pull, Vincent was able to pull back to object to her force. Unfortunately, with a fraction of his strength. Her knee was even more sudden, striking towards his stomach instead of the chin. He admittedly, stepped back from the impact, his eyes wide, very much surprised. He was impressed, but he had to push her harder for her Qi to unlock. Vincent would quickly take his leg that he used to step back, lift it quickly before he would attempt to press it against her stomach. Then he'd push hard to knock her to the ground brutally. If this were successful, he'd place his hands in his pockets as he would step back a safe distance away, awaiting her next move. Noriko's attack had been successful somewhat, but Vincent had a counter just as successful if not more. Noriko hit the ground hard yet again with a yelp of pain while Vincent made some distance. Rei got to her knees shakily. Then it happened. *Cough*. She covered her mouth with one hand. Only to stare with horror at the small drop of blood now in her palm. "N-no, not now.." she mumbled in frustration. It seems the strain level had become to great for her. Even so, she stood and faced Vincent. This was a friendly spar to him, but it was so much more important for Noriko. She had too much on the line to fail because of a birth defect. Suddenly, something seemed to click inside her(not literally). It was just as Keiko said. "Dreams can only become reality when two greater forces come into play: Will, and Determination." It all made sense. Noriko charged toward Vincent, she would throw a simple punch his way. Ambition. Determination. Without those, we have nothing, regardless of how powerful one could be. Not to mention it would take both of those to even become powerful in the first place. Seeing Noriko getting back up and up again was something but for her to attempt a strike after she had coughed out blood was a sign that she was an undying soul who wanted to succeed. She needed to get her Qi, and he would push for her to get it. To do that, she needed to feel all of the rush in her blood to the point in which it would just, burst. Her punch was simple, nothing too hard. Instead of blocking and countering, he'd duck under the attack, then elbow her chest instead of her stomach, not willing to make her cough out more blood. If successful, she'd most likely just stumble back due to the impact of the elbow and chest being rough, the chestbone being good armor. He'd quickly spring into the air and spin kick downwards from above while he could. Just as expected, the attack was not enough on it's own. His abilities were too strong, or maybe Noriko's were just too weak. Vincent would land a swift blow to Noriko's chest(It's too bad she doesn't have much extra protection..) Causing her to stumble back with a grunt of pain. Vincent saw this and decided to take the opportunity and attempt a downwards spin kick. This was it. If that kick landed Noriko would be done for. TICK. Things were in slow motion. TOCK. Suddenly-BOOM. Noriko knew what she needed to do, and exactly how to do it. Her blood ran cold, but oddly enough to say, in a good way, as if something had invaded the stream of endless cells, further advancing their speed. This sensation seemed to want it's way into many places, all Noriko had to do was let it. She knew exactly where she wanted this energy to go as well. Noriko's hair turned a shining white color, with an aura of the same shade forming around her. Her eyes changed to a much more radiant hue as well. Rei cought Vincent's leg again with much speed compared to earlier handy-work. She had a tight grip as she threw all her force into slamming Vincent down to the ground with the combination of speed and power. Of course, this might seem like average stuff to Yukino, but this jump of strength is fantastic in Noriko's eyes. She quickly gained a bit of distance from Vincent, ready for the next attack. There is was, the exact display that Vincent wanted to see in her, not only did she block the attack, but she managed to capitalize and attempt to to slam him to the ground. It seems like she had awakened, and is very much fired him. His arms would press against the ground to soften the impact, sort of like a push up in some sort of way. Seemed like the recent gym class had prepared him well. With his arms bent, he would push them up hard to launch himself back onto his feet, then he would turn to his opponent. A smile on his face as he would then nod with approval towards her. His firsts would be up once again, he wanted to see her go all out with her newly found strength in her. It was clear that she was fired up, and that was the exact feeling he felt when he had his semblance. Such a great feeling... So much power, it was hard to believe that he was feeling that power every second. It felt average, and soon, it will feel normal to her as well. Noriko smiled. It was a slightly playful smile, in the sense she was so happy that such prowess had been attained after so many years of being a disappointment. Noriko was losing speed and strength however, so playing the offensive was not the ideal tactic here. Instead, Rei waited for Vincent. "I believe it's your move Yukino." It seems she was not going to make her move. Such a shame, but that was not a problem to Vincent. He'd dash towards her once again at full speed. Once he had gotten to her, he'd jump and aim a kick towards the chin to really cause some damage. A simple, yet fast move so that she might not expect it coming. Who would know at this point though? She had gotten stronger, and if she can dodge and capitalize, this fight would actually be a bit more fair. Due to the strength behind the kick, blocking might not be such a good idea, especially since his running speed backed him up with the impact. Vincent made a ultra-speedy dash in hope of being unpredictable. All it took was for Noriko to focus her eyes for her to read his movements like a book of sorts. Her speed definitely wasn't as high as earlier, so just knowing won't cut it at a certain point. Noriko would attempt to dodge the kick by bringing her head back before attempting a slide kick to trip Vincent by his foot stationed on the ground. She dodged it perfectly! Vincent thought. On top of that, she actually landed a counterattack. He slips due to the sweep of the leg, and if it weren't for his experience, he would be on the ground. His body would tilt back quickly upon the fall before placing his palm on the ground. From there, he would push his body towards the side quickly, putting both of his legs out in an acrobatic and painful-looking almost perfect split, aiming for that to be a surprise attack to the head. If she tried to hit his arm, jumping on it would not be a problem. Regardless of the result, he'd eventually stop spinning and cartwheel back onto his feet, his fists up once again if she would attempt to hit him. There was leg damage from her sweep, not much, but it was still there. It seemed her strategy worked in throwing off Vincent's attack. Next, she...turned back? Noriko's hair and eyes returned to their basic colors. From there. Noriko would walk over to the safety bars and sit down, with the bars holding her back up. "Sorry, my chest is burning. I guess, that was the best I could do." Noriko's eyes were half closed to an extent, but she was able to make out a tired smile. In all honesty though, she did have one last trick up her sleeve, but Rei was very tired from sustaining her abilities for such a period. The battle seemed to be over as she admitted that her chest was burning, and that was about as much as she could handle. Vincent would respond with a smile, a casual one more like rather than his usual calm one. She inflicted damage on him, at her level, that was amazing. Her semblance changed her, and she should at least be rewarded. We should take care of that then. He would explain before attempting to pull her arm over the back of his neck so that she could rest her weight on him while he would attempt to carry her. If this were done, he'd then begin to walk, ready to do what he felt was most appropriate for this conversation. I'm going to buy you an ice cream, I owe you one, right? As Vincent would look away for one moment before returning his gaze to the now bolstered Noriko, he would notice her eyes were closed. The strain must have incapacitated her. But you know what this means. It means, rather than letting Noriko throw some of her weight on him, that "some" had become all. But with his level of strength, that shouldn't be a problem, right? Suddenly, Noriko came back to reality. It seemed she had fallen asleep at a park bench. She then remembered; she's at district #552. Things aren't like they used to be. She missed how easy-going life was at the last school, but it's time to buck up. This world has no place for those who cry in corners. It was a new day, so it might be good to get back to gathering info over Gregoire Girard. It's Not What You Think |
