Truth or Dare?
WHAT'S YOUR PICK?
He was sleeping peacefully in his makeshift bed on this pitiful dump he called a home, sprawled on top of the cardboard pieces he had laid on the floor. It was like every ordinary night; he was alone, alone in the empty abandoned garage. And much like the garage, his hope was also abandoned; his hope of ever obtaining his ideal future. He slept, and kept on sleeping, hoping he'll wake up and find himself in his bedroom, hoping that the walls were nothing but a nightmare of his. Then, she spoke.
"I'm bored... Let's play a game..."
He opened his eyes in an instant, stunned in his shock. Her voice, whoever it was, was so awfully familiar that the albino was already in the verge of throwing up, he simply can't believe what he was hearing. His ears would buzz as he flapped open his lids, he was blinded by the light, once his sight was clear, he took a brief minute to process in his mind of his what he was seeing; then he smiled. First thing he saw was the angelic face of his mother. His mother was beside him, smiling down at him as she sat on his bed. He wanted to cry, he knew it was impossible. He wanted to speak, though for some reason, he was unable to, as if something was stopping him from doing so. He had just seen his mother after so long, he should burst in tears, he should hug her and kiss her, yet he just kept laying on his bed, frozen, shocked.
Was it all just a dream? His mother's death? The unbelievable power he possessed? The walls being erected? Were they all but dreams? His eyes widened, staring blankly at his mother who sat before him, alive and happy, unlike his last memory of her. He then managed to finally speak. "O-okay..." He said weakly. As his mother heard his response, her sweet smile would widen as she would run her hand down his silver hair. She would then reply. "Truth? Or dare?" His mother asked sweetly. The albino sat up from the bed and took one of his pillows to hug, it was just as he remembered, playing a little game with his mother whenever they were bored at home, trying to escape their problems together by unwinding with a simple game.
"Dare..."
His response was automatic. She placed her index finger on her lips as she hummed, gesturing that she is thinking. "I know! Show me your ideal future." She would say sweetly. Aldritch would simply be confused, show her his ideal future? How can the be even possible? "L-like on a drawing? Or perhaps I should act it out?..." He'd ask, puzzled by what his mother asked for him to do on his dare. As he spoke, his mother simply shook her head, adding more to his confusion as to how can he possibly show her his ideal future. Before he could even ask again, his mother held a hand on his shoulder and smiled.
"Like this..."
Slowly, the room warped and started to swirl, disorienting the albino's vision. He was hyperventilating, he didn't know what was happening. His mother simply smiled as she looked at him, as if all of this was normal. The room kept warping untill all he could see was squiggles and waves of colors. He was about to scream, question his mother as to what was happening, until the warping reversed, reverting back to normal in a fraction of a second. But it was not in any way back to his normal room, no, something obviously changed, all of it changed.
"W-what happened?.."
The room expanded and became a bit more modern, the blue walls became white, and the single window on his wall turned into a gigantic one, covering almost the entire wall as it showed a calming scenery of the shore from atop a small cliff; The bed was a lot bigger, fit for two unlike his old bed, it was covered in white sheets, even the tiles on the floor were shiny white. He was confused, though at the same time, happy. He was in the bedroom of his ideal house. Then, she responded, but she wasn't the one he expected to answer. "Are you alright?" Asked a familiar voice. She was holding his shoulder, the same way his mother held him before the room warped, he was sure that the hand on his shoulder was never lifted. He turned to look at her face. "I-I... Ir-..." He stuttered trying to say her name, completely clueless as to what he should say, so he simply kept quiet and stared. "It was probably just a dream"
She was stunning, with her dark brown hair and her grey eyes, the white blouse she wore simply fit her perfectly. It was the girl of his dreams. He can't believe his eyes, he was in a situation that has only ever happened in his dreams. "Hey... Pinch me..." He'd say to her, and so she did. Aldritch would involuntarily jump from the pain, bouncing up and down on his bed as he rubbed the shoulder as to where the brunette pinched him. "Ow!" So it was real, all of this is. "Jesus Christ, Aldritch... You'll be late! You always ask me to pinch you every morning. You incompetent little... Just get dressed..." She would rant as the albino would simply smile, looking rather happy with just about everything. He would then stand up and take a shower, immediately afterwards, he would get suited up, with her helping him with the tie. He ate breakfast and kissed her goodbye for work, it was all too perfect.
As he stepped outside, immediately, what would greet him is his dream car parked in front of his house, shining majestically in all its perfect glory. He would tap his pockets, and surely enough, there was a key. As he would insert the key and turn it, he would run his free hand at the hood of the car as he would let out a sigh, he was very much pleased with all that was happening, a brief glance at his face would already show it clearly. He would then sit inside, rev up the engine, then drive it down quiet road from the hill. But as he drove, he felt something strange, something wrong. As he drove farther, the skies became darker, the colors became duller. Something was wrong; Something was ruining this perfect day of his.

"So that was your ideal future... huh?"
He would suddenly hear the same sweet voice from before, it was his mother. As the albino turned to the passenger seat, surely enough, she was there, appearing all too suddenly. He was confused, how did she get in the car? He was very much sure that the car was empty when started driving it. "M-mom? How did you?.." He would ask, shocked and confused with what's happening. The sky kept getting darker and darker, he wasn't even turning the wheel anymore, the car was driving on its own without him even realizing it; yet he kept a tight grip at the wheel. She would simply smile despite what's happening. "It was a cute dream... but it is just a dream..." She'd finally say with an ominous tone to her voice. The skies kept getting darker faster, up to the point where it was completely dim. There was nothing to see. All he could hear was himself, hyperventilating in panic, confused and afraid of what's happening. Then she whispered to his ears.
"Wanna see the future that truly awaits?.."
Then, there was a sudden flash of light coming from above, blinding him temporarily. As his vision would clear up, he would see himself squatting as the wheel he was holding tightly before became colder, a lot more metallic, only for him to find out that he was holding on to metal bars. He was in a rotten jail cell, completely empty with nothing but him and the single light that hung above his head. He attempted to separate his hands apart, but it would lead to failure as he was cuffed. He began to hyperventilate even more, he really didn't know what was happening anymore. He'd turn his head, beside him stood his mother, still smiling sweetly, only to make her look even more ominous. He then spoke, he was at the verge of crying. "M-mom?.."
"Sorry Aldritch, your mother's long dead..."
As she spoke, she got thinner, looked weaker, her sweet smile turned to a pained smile as she quickly decayed like in a time lapse. As this happened, the Aldritch slowly began to tear. She would result into a skeleton; her bones would then clatter and then begun to speak as her hollow sockets would seem to stare at Aldritch's tearing eyes despite the lack of her eyes. "Turn around... See for yourself..." She would finally say as the bones that has remained of her slowly began to crumble into dust that would then be blown away by the sudden gust of wind that would seem to come from nowhere. As he would turn around, the walls behind him would crumble and fall, creating a large opening for him to see what was outside.
Through the large opening in the wall he would see; everyone he had ever known, suffering from the hands of the apostles. It was like a scene straight out of an apocalyptic movie; there was fire everywhere, dead bodies all over the place, destroyed homes and structures scattered the walled city, and everyone he ever knew was there in the highest building on the district, a building adjacent to where he currently is. They were all bound in shackles, all bound with one executioner each by their sides. Even she was there, she was stained in red, her gray eyes devoid of hope as she stared directly at Aldritch. It was the girl of his dreams, about to die in front of him. He tried to shout her name but he can't even manage to speak, he tried to run and save her, only to fall down and find out that he was chained to the metal bars he once held on to. And as their executioners would point their guns at each individuals' heads, the floor beneath him would crumble and fall, his chains would snap and soon, he too would fall, just before the triggers were pulled.
As he fell, all he would hear was the sound of simultaneous gunfire, then, all he would hear was ringing as his eyes would tear up even more. He fell from what seemed like endless heights, as the ground came closer, he would close his eyes, there was no point of living, he might as well take his death as it is.
He fell and fell and... and then he woke up, jolting up from the dream. He hyperventilated and began to sweat heavily, he looked around and pinched his cheeks, he was in real life now, this time for sure. But he felt something on his other hand, something metallic. Upon opening his fist he would see...
...A set of familiar keys...
