New city. New school. Old faces. Old mistakes.
A lot of the 552 students thought this new place was a chance for them to start anew, but she didn't see it that way. Zoe felt that this was going to be the place everything finally caught up to her from New York. She had to be prepared for when that happened. Zoe hated being unprepared. She had gotten into this whole mess because she wasn't strong enough to protect herself. Now, people had died because of her, and that was unacceptable. The girl closed her eyes in silence as the sun hung low in the sky behind her. Her hands were clenched tightly into balled fists as she waited on a bench atop of the dormitories.
She had sent a text to someone who had never given her his number. The text only read:
