A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

I spun around in my chair in time to see a student brought in by another just as bloodied. This school never relaxed, did it? There was almost always at least one student making their way into the office for one injury or another. I laid the unconscious one on a bed and checked over his injuries quickly, making sure they were not life threatening or in need of immediate attention, before turning back to the other and checking him over. Both were alright as they could be in this situation. One had a broken Femur and the other a broken Humerus. Funnily enough, he was laughing about how long he had lasted with it. I did not find it funny or humerus.
"You shouldn't have been so reckless."
The student just laughed harder.
"You know where we are right? You heard about this school? We don't play nice. After I am outta here, wanna go out some time? You're lookin hella hot in that get up."
I rolled my eyes and continued tightening the splint. He was asking me out even now. These children needed to learn manners.

That's why they were so bloodied up in the first place.
If you don't mind me taking some creative licence here...the idiot that was presently unconscious was the boyfriend of a sophomore girl. The asshole getting his bones reset was one of those types of boys who got off on taking and seducing women who were already spoken for. He made a brazen attempt at the girlfriend in one of the hallways...while her boyfriend watched. It quickly escalated into a physical altercation that initially swung in the boyfriend's favor, driving his weight into the other hothead, and subsequently into one of the lockers, which is likely what caused the broken bone. However, a well-placed shot to the nose stunned the boy who was sticking up for his lady. What came next was a series of crushing punches that ended with the boyfriend being hoisted and wildly slammed...with his dead weight almost crashing down on the girl that this whole fight centered around. Even worse, he didn't stop there as he rained down hard blows on an already unresponsive enemy. Then, presumably for extra bragging rights, the victor took his downed opponent to the nurse's office. And so here we are, with the two receiving treatment...
...and Kevin entering the scene after seeing it all unfold in front of him.
He was there when the fight broke out, initially sticking around just to see who'd get their head knocked off first and possibly intervene if it got out of hand. However, that all changed when the girl who was approached almost became a casualty by someone's recklessness. Kevin may not have wanted to get involved in such a petty dispute, but felt it would raise this young lady's spirits if that disrespectful bastard what he deserved. Also, Kevin wasn't a fan of laying into someone who was already out cold. With a sense of purpose, Kevin rushed to the nurse's quarters and barged right in. One could barely make out the words "Disrespectful piece of shit...!" before the big freshman forced his way between Ms. Gillespie and her patient to drop a heavy flurry of punches.
This is why you don't choose to work at the problem schools.

My eyes widened as another student came in and forced his way between the two and began wailing on the student. I calmly sighed and made my way closer to the pair and gently pressed on the necessary spots to render him paralysed. I hated having to resort to that, but if needed I had a paralytic agent waiting just inside the closet behind me I could use to do the same thing. I would be able to scoop the angered boy off the floor and onto another table. He would be unable to move for about 20 minutes. He would still be able to speak, but wouldn't be able to move his limbs. "You should know better than to attack an injured man in the Nurse's Office. I don't take kindly to that."I moved back to the boy and continued splinting his arm before returning to his face and assuring blood wouldn't spread over his face. Good thing I had plenty of clot forming additives."What did you do...?" `Alvari

Want to know what Kevin doesn't take kindly to? Someone hitting a trigger for him.
Kevin took notice of the nurse but didn't pay her too much mind---there was a moment of consideration for the possible repercussions, though he decided it was worth the risk to lay into this miserable prick. Kevin expected that a crack across the head with a mallet or a measuring stick across his knuckles was worth knowing he taught the ignorant asshole some respect by wailing on him. What Kevin DIDN'T expect was a short moment of feeling a couple of pinching sensations followed by the slow refusal of his body to do anything else. "Agh! Hey, what're ya...huh? Wait, what the..!?" That was his initial reaction when his arms went to jelly after looking like twin pistons just a moment before. Simultaneously, his legs gave out and the tower that previously stood over everyone in the room now laid on the floor, a limp and defenseless boy.
There was something in him that snapped to the surface of his mind. "What the---what the fuck!? What the fuck!? WHAT THE FUCK!?" His voice elevated every time and Ms. Gillespie would find a look that she may not have thought she could inspire in someone:
Terror.
Sure, Kevin saw the mild-mannered, blue-haired nurse standing over him, attending to the other student, but his mind had flashes of someone else, somewhere else entirely. What happened to him reminded him of his past; he could hear bits and pieces of the memory, almost like being underwater and hearing noises from the surface:
"He's gonna hold you down..."
It had been so long since Kevin last heard that Southern drawl, be it in person or in his thoughts.
"And I'm gonna make you suffer."
That voice, husky and full, yet it carried those words with a certain soullessness.
"And there's nothin' you can do about it." Kevin would never forget that woman's voice, and he heard it now as he was raised and set on the examination table; Maya making contact with him only served to further Kevin's cries of anguish. "YO, DON'T FUCKIN' TOUCH ME! DON'T FUCKIN' TOUCH ME! GET THE FUCK AWAY! NO! NO! NO!" Of course, he couldn't do anything about it. Being reminded of such only made him freak the fuck out even more.
How well could she work with a traumatized, screaming boy in the background?

I stopped treating the boy. He was done for now, unconscious like the other boy brought in with him. Great. The other one, the new one, was screaming about something. I turned to face him and put a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"Calm down. I only paralyzed you for twenty minutes. If you calm down, I can get your limbs working again, but you have to stay calm. If you keep this up, I will be forced to put you to sleep. If that happens, you will wake up in a few hours completely well aside from a headache."
I didn't expect him to listen, but I didn't want to use the chloroform on him. I didn't like going this far, but things were as they were. I hoped he would listen to reason.

I'm writing from work, so excuse any typos I miss. With that disclaimer out of the way...
Kevin would have been better off if Maya had just put him out. Not that he preferred being subjected to forced unconsciousness, but he wouldn't have lost his marbles like he did. Being bound, restrained or unwillfully robbed of the use of his limbs was a MAJOR phobia of his and even though Kevin complied, he was still sweating bullets. The boy kept quiet, eyes wide and reminiscent of a wounded animal.
I can't trust this bitch, Kevin thought. Sure, Maya might not have DONE anything other than neutralize him. After all, he DID barge in with fists flying at that piece of crap she attended to. Unfortunately, he couldn't guarantee that for sure.
Kevin gulped dry air and vowed never to take his eyes off the nurse as long as he was in here.

The boy calmed down and I relaxed a little. I needed to assure the boy was out of danger before letting the attacking student free of his paralysis. I spoke to the attacker as I finished splinting the boy and bandaged his new found cuts and bruises.
"I came here because I wanted to help the students. All of them. I didn't think it would be easy, as a matter of fact, I expected for this to happen. I didn't want it to happen on my first day, however. I really am sorry I was forced to use such measures to make you see reason. Fighting can only cause more fear, hate, and hurt. Fighting has never brought peace. Peace has only ever been found through fear, loathing, and helplessness. That is not peace, true peace can be found when we all agree to stop fighting."
I finished with the boy and sent him out to be taken home by his guardians before turning back to the boy. I stopped just short of touching him to be sure he knew I meant to harm.
"I am going to release you now. Please do not act rashly. If you would like to stay and talk, I will be fine with that."
At that, I brought my hands slowly toward him, no fast movements, and hit the necessary pressure points to release him of his paralysis. After he was freed, I moved to the other boy who was apparently the one defending his woman and began helping him. First a leg splint.

But fighting could shut a hateful motherfucker up, and that could bring some peace for a time...right? Maybe?
As Kevin remained at the school nurse's mercy, he had little choice but to sit through and endure her speech. Not that her point didn't hold merit, he just saw enough people get put in their place to believe sometimes a little fighting back did good. Aside from that, he was mostly in his own head...reprimanding himself for his behavior. He wasn't upset about storming in, but how he reacted when Ms. Gillespie subdued him. In Kevin's eyes, it was shameful for him to react how he did.
Unfortunately, the whole experience reminded Kevin of scarier times.
Maya laid hands on a boy who almost reacted like a dog when someone reached for a hurt limb, wide-eyed and wary of any sudden movements. His anxiety couldn't have been any higher as he had to sit there and be touched without a single means to stop it. However, he found feeling in his limbs yet again after a few seconds. It was then that Kevin realized the entire time he had been taking shallow, panicked breaths; he finally relaxed as the swift rising and falling of his lungs began to slow down. Pursing his lips, Kevin raised to a sitting position on the table, avoiding eye contact with the nurse, silent as a mouse.

I sighed and gave a reassuring smile to the boy who avoided my gaze. I turned and began helping the defending boy, who still remained unconscious. I would wave some salts under his nose only after I finished patching him up. After the temporary leg cast was in place, I moved to bandage his arm which was bleeding. Looked like defensive wounds to me. I stole a glance at the boy who was sitting silently on the table, he hadn't really moved at all. I moved my gaze back to the boy and continued bandaging him as I spoke.
"I truly am sorry I put you in such a panic. What started the fight was horrid and the boy should absolutely pay for what he had caused, but you should not have gotten involved. The authorities at this school should be more than able to break up fights here. I do not mean to lecture you, I just... I never... Perhaps I should keep my mouth shut about these things."
My face flushed slightly as I ducked back into my duties.
I had no right to be telling him what he should and should not do. I didn't know him. I didn't have any kind of control over him. Why was I trying to be a mom? I have never even... No man has ever...
I closed my eyes and sighed. Lifting my head and opening my eyes, I went back to the task at hand. I had to do this first. One step at a time.

To be fair, Maya had a point.
Kevin sat still as the nurse kept on. Sure, she was ranting but if Kevin didn't want to hear it, she wasn't stopping him from leaving. Kevin remained there with his head low as he stared at the floor. He was equal parts angry and humiliated, and part of why he hadn't gotten up was because he was in his own head. Flashbacks temporarily held the boy hostage as he reminisced both on what had occurred just moments before, and on events that happened prior to his enrollment.
Such was the true terror of abuse: not the events and what one felt in the moment, but the lingering aftertaste that remained for years, decades, even lifetimes. For better or worse, Kevin only had the greater half of a year's time in between what happened then and this moment now in the nurse's office. It hadn't had much time to fester long, but he hadn't had much time between him and that which traumatized him. There was a moment between him and Maya where nothing was said. Long fingers gripped the edge of the table, squeezing tightly before loosening his hold on it. He stood up and opened his mouth to speak without looking at the nurse directly. What he said involved other memories, ones that didn't involve the traumatic experience that Maya inadvertedly dug up.
"I was one of those kids once," he started, low and shaky. That wouldn't last for long. "Ran with a crew, we'd jump people...stomp 'em out. We were all fuckin' punks." She'd be able to hear the bitterness in his voice on that last part. But I noticed some shit and it didn't set in 'til I had some time to look back on it. Any time me or somebody else I was with got into it with somebody, it almost always was where other folks could see. And it was always a mix of people who just wanted to see a fight, some of us who was just chompin' at the bit to jump in...and then there was the ones who wanted shit to stop and not get outta hand." Kevin folded his arms over his chest and raised his head up to look at a wall. He still couldn't make eye contact with the lady but he'd continue.
"See, they'd wait and hope somebody came. Sometimes you'd get faculty or a good Samaritan to step in, stop us...most times, they didn't or they got there too late. I got like that at one time...finally ran up on somebody that I ain't feel a'ight eith jumpin'. Wanted somebody to stop it, even stepped back and didn't get involved myself." Maya might notice some extra intensity in Kevin's features.
"They stomped his fuckin' head in. Kid's gonna have issues for the rest of his life."
At that point, he chanced a glance in the nurse's direction. Had she been looking at him, they'd catch each other's eyes as he finished. "I ain't sayin' you ain't got a point, I'm just sayin' I seen what happens when people wait for change instead of bein' it. Sorry for rushin' in."
