A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Edgar gave it time. He waited a few days for the post riot to wind it's way down. He checked out the school, learned who was who in teaching circles. He even spent time in a classroom or two. He hadn't started his own, no. He wanted to wait until two weeks in, when his class could be chosen electively. Still, the place wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Sure, there was grafitti in the cafeteria and people rioting in the dorms at night but that was all something you got used to. For Krane, however, anarchy and chaos were never good things to put together for an educational system. So, he would open the Headmasters office with the help of the good secretary. Once inside, he let his lips part a little. It was far more beautiful than anything else in this school. Very new agey and roomy. There was a couch in front of the desk with plenty of room throughout the place. A table, several large bookshelves, a globe. The desk was smaller than he wanted but he would deal. He moved over behind the desk, sitting in the chair and giving a small "Ahhh" as he did so. He grabbed hold of the phone next to him and slid it over, lifting it and pressing "All speaker". His voice would come through the loudspeaker. " Would Jason Harper and Doctor Arianna please report to the headmasters office. Thank you." He'd set it down with a little chuckle...and wait.

The one thing that Jason really didn't like about teaching was grading. He had lost track of how many times he had to write down the difference between 'their' and they're between that, and the students with horrible handwriting he was almost relieved when he heard his name on the PA. That relief was followed instantly by confusion, the headmaster's office? The last he heard the school didn't have a headmaster. Did they have one and not tell him? Either way he was eager to get out of his office and see what was really going on. In the back of his mind he was wondering if he should have shaved that day.
After getting turned around Jason made his way to the office. The secretary informed him that he was waiting for him inside, he knocked twice and entered. It took all of Jason's self restraint not to go "woah" when he entered the fancy office. It was fancier than any other room he'd seen in the school, it sure made his already small office tinier in comparison. Quickly shaking off his amazement Jason made his way to who he assumed was the headmaster. "Pleasure to finally meet you, sir." He said with a smile, as he extended his hand for handshake. He played it cool, to hide the fact that he was a bit nervous, even though as far as he knew he had done nothing wrong. "What can I do for you?"

The blonde doctor being paged raised her head to look up at the speaker. Headmaster? But there was none. Well...as much as she didn't want to be rude and wouldn't ignore the summons in the end, she turned back to her task of arranging the infirmary to her tastes. It was her place, now, and she wanted it to reflect that.
And, of course, she had to lock up the more dangerous things. From the cabinets housing the biohazard disposals for needles and other such things, to the cabinets that actually contained medicine and needles, medical files. Most of the more expensive supplies she locked away as well, but she did leave bandages and gauze in easy reach, stacked neatly upon the counter.
She would bring in some small things, she decided, looking at the walls and the sturdy benches that were easy to clean. She would set up the room in the back, once she got back. Emergency related only, that one. But she also had a few beds and other equipment stowed away that she needed to set up once she got back. By the amount she was allotted, she figured she would be very busy.
But then...by the school's reputation alone, she already knew that.
Arianna locked up the storage room and her office - just extra precautions against people getting into things they shouldn't - and slipped the band around her wrist. She didn't lock the infirmary itself, however. Striding down the hall, white lab coat fluttering behind her, the doctor quickly pawed through her emails on her phone.
By the time she was directed to the office, she was a few minutes behind the other teacher that was paged. And despite her appreciation for the very fine office and its books...it didn't have the same effect on Arianna as it did the two males. Despite the difference between this office and the rest of the school, she simply blinked.
Perhaps because it was something she was used to being around.
"I have to wonder why here, of all places." She spoke, conversationally, but gave a friendly smile to them both, extending her hand in turn. "Doctor Arianna Blaze."

He would stand as both came into the office. He was wearing an entirely blue, classy suit, and didn't seem ruffled at being called Headmaster. That's why he was here, right? He reached out and took Mr.Harpers hand, shaking it lightly. Still, though he enjoyed the pomp of the title and such, he wasn't going to attempt to lie about it. " Actually, my name is Edgar Krane. I'm just a teacher here, like you." He would cock an eyebrow as Arianna walked in, smoothing his hair just a little. Babes were awesome, and having a doctor that was hot? Oh yeah, he was definitely there. He would take her hand as well, bringing it to his lips for a gentle kiss on the back of her knuckles. " Arianna. Pleased to meet you. I am Edgar Krane." He would let her hand go, and search her eyes a moment with a small smile before getting down to business. Turning around, he would walk back behind the desk, his fingertips resting on it. He would then look between them. " I have my Masters in Education. I spent three tours in Iraq, and four tours in Afghanistan. In between those major wars, I was sent all over the place as Army Special Forces. I was a Major there, and am familiar with how to control the unruly and rebuild a government." Obvious details there. " I'm telling you this because you two were the first to sign on as staff. People respect you for coming to this...near-detention center like facility. Because of that, I had hoped I could convince you both to stand behind me in my desire to become Headmaster of this school. I can fix it up, put money where it matters, and make this place not just a run down, grafitti covered building. It can be both prostigous and desireable." He spread his hands just a little. " I understand if you can't decide now. Or if you'd like to ask me questions I am open to that."

Despite the initial awkwardness of mistaking Edgar as the headmaster, Jason relaxed knowing that he was a fellow teacher. "Oh, okay." He simply said when Edgar corrected him. However he was still unsure what was going on there. When Arianna arrived he would shake her hand after Edgar introduced himself to her. "Hey, Jason Harper." He said with a smile.
After hearing Edgar's past experiences, Jason could tell where he was going with this, the veteran confirmed this when he admitted his desire to become headmaster. "Looks like you have a head start." Jason joked gesturing towards the desk. Between his degree and his military record it seemed to Jason that Edgar was the right man for the job. He still wanted to know more before making up his mind.
"Well, you seem to be the right man for the job." He said, crossing his arms. "But I need to know more about your plans for the students and the violence in the school." Jason was concerned that Edgar might see the kids as soldiers, not students. He needed to know more about the man's point of view before he can support him.

He figured he'd take the questions as they came.
"A fair first question. The problem isn't the violence. It's channeling it. If we can put together a group under the control of the Pillars who are, as the rules state, under our control- we could have a small army to help against the more violent offenders. Now, each Pillar would report to a teacher, and all teachers would report to me. It is militaristic, but in a school where the law of the land is that the strong monitor the weak I see no other starting option. From there, we channel the violence in different ways. By having combat classes. Where we pit students against students, with the school doctor on the sidelines. We award people for fighting, for getting stronger. We can adapt that to any lines we need."
He would open a side drawer in the desk and pull out a bottle of whiskey.
"You get enough people to help suck some of the flavor from on grounds violence, we can push that energy off campus. I know, kids shouldn't be violent anywhere, but for now we need to focus on us. Along with that, we change the rules about fighting on school grounds. No more for-fun fighting. If you participate in violence on school grounds, you will be taken care of the same as if you were beating kids up for fun."
He poured himself a glass and brought out two more.
"Would you guys like something to drink?"

Ah...what? Arianna blinked a few times as she found herself on the receiving end of - not a proper handshake - the brush of lips against her knuckles. It was weird, coupled with the almost flirtatious eye contact. She blinked, neutral but friendly, but there was no shred of interest in her gaze despite the clear flattery being bestowed upon her.
"Likewise." She turned to the other male, pleased to find herself actually shaking his hand. "A pleasure, Mister Harper."
She withdrew her hand, not rude enough to clean the back of it as though removing a smudge. Well. She wouldn't here, at least. Instead she listened as he made a statement of wanting to become the headmaster. He certainly seemed qualified, as Jason had said. But...
"That is quite the list of accomplishments. You must be quite proud of yourself. I will pass on drinking while at work, thank you." She smiled, obviously not meaning any insult on the former, and softening the latter. "I hope you forgive me my curiosity, but you can chalk it up to my line of work. So many tours in such stressful times, how are you faring, mentally..?"
Yeah. She was asking. He looked good on paper, but most people came back with plenty of scars, and not all of them were physical.

He watched her as she replied, and half shrugged at her mention of drinking at work.
"Luckily, I'm a fairly social drinker. I do it for the flavor, which I enjoy, but this bottle would not be enough to get me drunk."
He would take another sip and narrow his eyes just a little in thought. The doctor, of course, would ask that question. Edgar made a habit of never lying- lying, he felt, made you weak. Showed that you could not handle the state of reality, and therefore you had to cower behind a falsity. He would give a slight nod at her statement.
"I have my scars, the same as anyone else who went to war would. There is no normal soldier. There are just soldiers. And going there, coming back here...it's quite the culture shock. But I assure you, I have all my faculties in check."

She disapproved of it, very much so; it didn't matter he wouldn't get drunk, it was the principle of drinking while on-duty at all that she didn't like. Her gaze narrowed somewhat, but, she wasn't wanting to butt heads with those that were faculty on the first day.
They relaxed somewhat as she gained a thoughtful expression, but, he hadn't won her approval yet.
"While I can't give you my support right now, I'd give you the advice to start making these changes as you are able to now, instead of after."
More difficult? Absolutely. But she wasn't going to throw in her towel for a man she just met. He looked good on paper, but there were things she didn't like, or wasn't sure she liked the sound of. Besides, this looked too much like politics from where she was standing.
Lord knew they had enough issues dealing with that.

"Your problem is that you see no other options," a deep voice calmly asserted. A giant of a man walked into the room, looking around casually. He'd been listening in for quite some time, but once he'd realized there was no headmaster at the moment, he'd felt it appropriate to just make his presence known. "But giving more power to violence isn't such a great idea, is it? I mean, pillars have gone out of control before. Capitalizing on a faulty system being your only option... well, I mean no disrespect, but that tells me you're just not fit for the job." A calm laugh, followed by a sigh, before the giant man bowed his head in greeting.
"Takehiro Amakusa. Also a teacher, here. And, also seeking this position."

Edgar took another drink from his glass, setting it down afterward. He stuck his hands in the pockets of his slacks after Arianna spoke, wanting to respond but instead turning his eyes to the new person that entered. Ah, good. Someone who wanted to make themselves his enemy right off the bat. He would walk around the table slowly and up to Tak, looking up at the man. He offered his hand with a small smile.
"Pleased to meet you. Names Edgar Krane."
If the man took his hand, he would shake it lightly, releasing it after and turning back around to walk back to the desk. He spoke as he did so, eventually turning around to face them again.
"You have it all wrong, Mr. Amakusa. It's not that I don't see any other options- I see the best options for the current situations. How our students have been bred to live is through growth in strength. Simply changing that way of life for them, without reason, would give way to anger, confusion and frustration with their circumstances. Like any great system, you have to work in baby steps."
He lifted his glass and took another drink.
"An example, if you will entertain one. In our current schools atmosphere, they respect strength. If you were to take over as Headmaster, and say...I came along during a school assembly and beat you to within an inch of your life? Well, you'd still have the Headmaster job, for a time. But you would lose the respect of the students. The teachers wouldn't want anything to do with you, because both the students and the school board would think you weak. And eventually, they would remove you from power. That's politics."
He didn't take his eyes off the large man.
"But if, as Headmaster, you shifted the system just a little and waited a while, people would grow complacent. Then you shift it just a little again, and wait. Then a little more, and wait. Eventually, people will be going to classes and eating lunch in peace. Without problems. And best of all, they will think it was their idea to make it that way. Patience and a plan, Amakusa. Have both, and we'd get to a place that would satisfy both of us, I think."
And another drink, waiting for the man to reply, or perhaps Mr. Harper to step in.

"Doctor Arianna Blaze."
She had to look up further to meet Amakusa's eyes, but...she had to say she liked the thought he presented. But probably because it resonated with her. But. She was unfamiliar with the way of life for students here. She'd gone to schools less corrupted.
So she turned to listen to Edgar, and sighed.
"...'like boiling frogs'." She stated after a moment of contemplation, giving her sister a mental nod. She would have said as much, but she had yet to arrive. That was out of her hands.
And while she may not have liked the comparison, she couldn't deny the logical intelligence behind what Krane had said.

He smiled, holding the glass aloft a little at Arianna.
"Precisely, Doctor. Turn up the heat slowly, and they won't be aware that anything is amiss."
He gave a smooth, gentlemans smile as his eyes retrained on Tak.

“In my opinion…”
Arose stepped into the large office, hands tucked inside of the pockets of his dress pants. The older teacher had his tie done loosely under the collar of his white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up. The man had a bit of gruff growing on his face. Altogether his appearance seemed like it could have been considered professional at some point in time.
“You’re not giving these students enough credit.”
Arose continued to walk into the office. He would nod to the teachers as he started to take a look around the office. To those who may have not known the man, it probably seemed like he was inspecting the office. Maybe even as if he was planning on taking this office for himself at some point. The man walked to the window and peered out the glass. He would turn around and lean up against the wall. He gave a smile as he faced the other teachers.
“And I take it this isn’t the teacher’s lounge.”

Boy did this room get crowded all of the sudden or what. Jason smiled and politely declined the drink. "Maybe some other time, I still have papers to grade." The truth was Jason had a bad habit of not putting the bottle down once he picked it up, that's one aspect of being a writer he had nailed. Jason considered what Edgar had said as he only half listened to the conversation between the doctor and Mr. Krane, he was busy forming his opinion. Jason was analyzing what Mr. Krane had said, focusing on the language he used to describe his plans.
Before Jason could say anything Mr. Amakusa stepped in, his opinion and Mr. Krane's reply gave Jason more information. It was actually their last addition that gave Jason the last piece of the idea he was forming, it was time to present. "If I may." He said clearing his throat. First he turned to Edgar. "I like your idea Mr. Krane, mostly because it is more proactive than letting the students sort themselves out. You want to make them an army, militarize them, but I'm afraid that might not sit well with the them or me."
He paused to address the rest of the room. "I've spoken to these students, gotten to know them a bit. Some of them are simply angry, lashing out at whatever they see hoping that it will make a difference. Some of them actually want to help others and prevent more violence. Others, this may be the only life they know. So I say we should focus on helping, guiding and empowering them. Not as an army to fight the violence, but as defenders to bring peace to the school." After a brief pause he gestured to the teacher standing by the window. "As you said, we don't give them nearly enough credit, maybe that's why the act the way they do. If there was a group of students who honestly wanted to make a positive change in this school, guided by us, trained by the Pillars, I don't think there's much that can stop them."
Exhaling, Jason had said everything that came to his mind. He knew that his ideas were far from perfect, he was simply sharing them with his fellow teachers. He was good at coming up with ideas, not so much when it came to implementing them. That's why he has so many unwritten stories in his mind. Before turning the discussion over to the rest of the room there was one more point he wanted to make. "Also, this should not be about us." He made sure too look at everyone in the room when he said that. "It must never become about who gets the fancy office with the important job title. Our priority should be the students and the school. Otherwise, we'll end up butting heads as this place burns around us." He felt like that bit may have been too far, but hoped it would help drive the point home.
