“The caged bird sings with a fearful trill, of things unknown, but longed for still, and his tune is heard on the distant hill, for the caged bird sings of freedom.” ― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings [Song of the Caged Bird]
Hey. How's my little Canary? You don't write or call you wouldn't be avoiding little ol' me would you? Lol Why don't you come out your little cage and play today, what do ya say? If so meet me at Orion's Belt. -- Cereza
--- Cereza just like the last time when she invited him to Saul's bar would shoot him the address to Orion's Belt. Unless people were already familiar with the popular gym wouldn't really think it was one. The name presented a suggestion of being anything other than what it was. Hell it often Cereza joked that it sounded like a nightclub. It was a bit late into the afternoon about an hour or so from sunset just about the time that Cereza liked the most. There were a lot of things that people didn't know about the secretive teen including those possibly somewhat closer to her than most. There were probably a lot of things she didn't even really know about herself or rather chose not to truly acknowledge verbally or in surface thoughts. Cereza Nova Grey was a complicated creature. The concept that men believed that woman were already complex beings would have a even harder time attempting to understand or pull anything from this young woman. Her layers, her guards ran deep and strong. The girl was like a fortress for the most part. Yet there she was enjoying something of a serene moment.
--- There was just something about the sunset that drew her in. Who knew why, who knew if she knew why. No of course she did but this translates back to the fact that she wouldn't outwardly own it. But alas the sun wasn't setting just yet to be dwelling on the why. At this point it would be clear that the exotic beauty was not in the huge gym but instead on the rooftop enjoying the slight breeze through her loose hair. Typically her white fedora would be sitting on her head but it was absentee from the females wardrobe having been left home with her niece. The weather had been kind enough recently for her to be sporting a crimson red tank top and a simple pair of dark blue jeans. A simple causal downtime look on the usual sorta classy wearing female. It would probably be considered refreshing to most from those that knew her for years to new interactions.
--- Upon the roof she leaned against the concrete ledge with both arms sorta dangling over a little. In her hands she was twirling something that was connected to string. Back and forth it flipped one side holding the image of a cage and the other the image of a canary. The name of this contraption was known as an thaumatrope. When strings were quickly twirled the images would blend to reveal the canary trapped within the cage. For this instance it was a heavy symbolism to a previous conversation between the pair not to far back. Cereza felt like Levi was this cage bird singing silently to himself a song of wanting to be free. Of needing to be free. The longing the yearning. Sure it was only the second time they met but what transpired that particular not she could tell, she felt it. He didn't need to say it she just knew. He asked her what she had meant when she said 'when he wanted to be free to come talk to her' but Cereza provided no answer other than he needed to find it on his own. She didn't force anyone to do what they already didn't want to secretly do, at most she considered herself guiding them in her own way. Though this was something she couldn't and wouldn't provide the answer to for him. She wasn't a babysitter for adolescents nor adults. She knew he was smart though he trusted her far too quickly so maybe he was a bit naive but intelligent nonetheless.
--- Cereza was a big believer in freedom. Freedom to be who you were and damn to anyone that tried to take that away from you. But freedom was such a broad horizon, a broad spectrum of aspects just like the concept of strength. Everyone had their thoughts on the subject matter. Freedom could be simple or complex to some. Freedom could be the feeling one gets standing on the rooftop with a soft breeze passing through them and the rays of a soon fading sun kissing their caramel skin illuminating their features. A feeling like you couldn't be touched by anything or anyone in that moment as the world would soon melt away. But wasn't there a downside to the sunset? Of course. For now the light remained as she awaited his arrival if he so choose to. The thaumatrope continued to spin within her grasp as her face tilted a little to her left looking over the city. If he did arrive he'd be able to catch a rather tranquil moment surrounding her seemingly. She hadn't been around too much as she had been pretty busy with various activities. So to say she wasn't curious about if he found an answer or just what had been going on would be false.

Levi flew through the air, a roundhouse aimed at his grandfather's face. The old man quickly grabbed the leg and spun it, sending Levi spinning horizontally up into the air. The elder would bellow in laughter as Levi hit the ground hard. His head more dazed than anything else.
"Anata wa itsuka watashi o korosu tsumorida. Sonogo, kōkai suru yo!" <You're going to kill me someday. Then you'll be sorry!>
The old man's laughter grew as he spoke between laughs.
"Tabun watashi wa imaimashī kachi o tatakau koto ga dekiru no mago o erudeshou!" <Maybe I'll get a grandson who can fight worth a damn!>
Levi snorted in frustration as he quickly rolled over onto his back and kipped to his feet, his teeth gritted. He knew his grandfather didn't mean it other than to motivate him, but, well...it worked. He prepared to launch himself forwards as he yelled.
"Sore wa anata no hōhō ga arimasu! Watashi wa rōjin anata o korosunara, watashi o semenaide kudasai!" <Have it your way! Don't blame me if I kill you old man!>
"hm?"
Levi's focus broke as his phone went off, using the tone he had assigned to Cereza. He glared at his grandfather as he turned to get his phone off of the deck.
"Watashi wa modotte shutoku suru mae ni shinu shinai yō ni shite kudasai..." <Try not to die before I get back...>
He jogged to his phone and checked it, wondering if they would be meeting at Saul's again. It wasn't Saul's bar, but it certainly sounded like it could be a bar. He turned to his grandfather and rigidly bowed in respect, his grandfather returning it before he turned to head inside. The old man smiled, having learned how Levi got when that particular noise went off. He yealled playfully after his grandson.
"Don't be silly! Wrap your willy!"
Levi's head went back laughed out loud as he went inside, flipping his old man the bird as he disappeared inside. He quickly showered and got dressed before making the drive to Orion's belt, following his gps diligently. He stepped out of his car, slinging his bag of gear over his shoulder as he scoped out the building, figuring it was not a bar. When he entered, it looked to be a small gym of sorts. There was a ring in the middle and several people working out on weight machines as well as open mats. Levi slowly walked in, hoping someone would notice him and sure enough the man training a student on one of the mats held a man in a pin as he looked at Levi curiously.
"Hey.. can I help you kid?"
Levi nodded and gave a polite smile as he spoke, looking around for Cereza.
"Yeah, I'm looking for Cereza?"
The man cocked an eyebrow.
"Cereza huh?" The guy looked him and down, "you are?"
Levi gave a small bow, "Levi Kayamei."
"Hmm... she's on the roof." The man snapped his fingers at one of the nearby members, a young man. The man walked over and waited for his teacher to speak. "Show this guy to the roof."
Levi followed the man quietly, giving his a nod as he turned to leave Levi at the door. He opened the door, scanning the rooftop, quickly finding Cereza. He grinned widely as he walked towards her, hands in his pockets, noticing the thaumatrope of a caged bird. He would wait for her to notice him as he enjoyed to serene scene on the roof.

'A free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends and dips his wing in the orange suns rays and dares to claim the sky.' ― Maya Angelou, I know Why the Caged Bird Sings --- Silently she stood bent over on the concrete edge twirling the device in her hand aimlessly over and over again. It's symbolism was strong one when it was heavily thought about. This was how Cereza came to see Levi slightly but was there another person she saw the same? Maybe herself? No see she would never admit that she was somewhat in a cage herself. Cereza believed herself to be more free than most. But was that the truth? There was a lot unknown about the young girl. Figuring her out without her ever opening up herself was almost impossible. The amount of walls she had was ridiculous. She was so secretive and good at it she should probably take up a career as a spy. But all jokes aside opening up would probably do the girl some good but was that ever going to happen? Probably not. Cereza was just too stubborn. Just too lost into her world to bother with such things. She hated dwelling on the past most of all but lately things had been mirroring in some ways and she had almost a break most recently after another session with Damien.
--- The intensity that it held brought back thoughts, memories about that one main event of her past and she almost let Maverick's name slip from her lips. That was the breaker to ever admit anything about that guy in connection to her was a no no. A few days later she found herself in a moment of dwelling and she didn't like it at all. Dwelling made her upset. She needed a break. Needed to get away and well she hadn't heard from Levi in awhile so why not after all that get together with him. All those thought processes actually led her to texting him after all that. Interesting no? Of all people. Maybe she did it for herself subconsciously. Then again Cereza wasn't the nicest person underneath it all. She was manipulative in her own ways and cared very little for who she hurt even if she brought them up a little. She was always willing to push them right back down. But she didn't show that off the back. It was always a slow process after she got their trust. Did Levi deserve what she could possibly end up doing in the end? Not at all. But who's to say what could or would ever happen. Cereza was just an opportunist at heart. But had she invited him here with any of those intentions? Actually not at all.
--- The soon fading sun kissed her face as she heard the door open, she didn't turn immediately allowing him to walk closer to her. Still the spinning thaumatrope going and going. She remained in her positioning bending down and leaning for now. Once he was either behind her or at her side she would smile and glance his way finally greeting his presence.
"Hey my little canary... What's with the bag? Preparing for a sleep over?"
--- Well at least in her solitude she managed to be a little witty still. Though she seemed a little more serene and laid back than more forward.

Levi gave a light chuckle at her name for him, shaking his head a little. He looked at his bag and then back to her as he spoke, his face alight with the evening sun.
"I wasn't sure if this was another cage fight. Though I'm not disappointed. I was wondering when I would see you again...It's been a while."
Levi's words took on a sense of longing towards the end. She had rarely escaped his mind since there eventful night after their match at Saul's. Many of the things that had happened that night were firsts for him and they all involved her. It would have been weird if she had left his mind too often. Still, he managed to reign in his affection for her upon reflection, understanding that the feeling seemed not quite mutual and even if it was, they really didn't know each other and logic dictated that patience and time needed to be spent before considering pursuing anything beyond friendship.
calm thyself Levi...
Levi eased his mind as he set his bag down, placing his hands in his pockets. He had been wondering what she had meant by setting him free and while he was not dying to know, he had certainly come in anticipation of the answers to his questions.
"So, you said you could free me..."

'But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.' ― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings --- Cereza was a very perceptive person. Often she paid heavy attention to a person's words and how they came out in tone. She picked up rather quickly on the ending of his speech and found herself staring at him with a lifted chin. Had she heard that tone correctly? Was he in some form saying he missed her? Was that a sense of longing in his words? Had she made such a huge impact upon him for this to be? Well if she was being a little conceded she knew she left am impression of some kind but how deep had it gone was the question. Could she stand there and deny that he didn't maybe leave some kind of invisible mark with her? Of course Cereza could deny it. She was damn near the Queen of deflection and denials.
"Well I don't think every time we met we need to tussle with each other hmm..You know it's not like you didn't have my number. You could've contacted me anytime."
--- The exotic girl had a point. Contacting was a two way street after all. Just because she hadn't reached out didn't mean he didn't have to especially if he really wanted to see her. She won't deny that maybe she had been busy lately with all her different kinds of 'work'; investigating Terry's murder was still ongoing and prepping everything for Wonderland's Circus. But she would've made time because a girl needs some downtime from all work and no play. Nevertheless could she say she had affectionate feelings for him? She wasn't the type for affections on that level. Well that was false to say she was incapable it was more something locked away behind hoards of security measures. It would take a great deal of force to pull that out of her. Her uncle believed she never truly experienced it but he was far correct. Once upon time she had and it led into the ultimate betrayal.
--- Why should she ever let it happen again? Get them before they got you. Sounds like a much better route at least to her. Guess it seemed cold and maybe lonely to some but it got her by and she was free and surviving. The concept of the whole thing fell death on her truthfully. She didn't understand it the true essence of it that is. Doubtful anyone would ever get her to. Funny how long had she been just staring at him? Probably a little longer than she even realized. Wow that was odd and so not like the brunette. She turned her face forward closing her eyes as she slowly rose up from her bent over position. Her back was still a bit sore and scuffed up in some parts so she masked the pain but making it seem like she was stretching to stand up straight. The device had longed seized twirling in her hands as the sun touched both of them gently. After letting the pain she masked settle her eyes reopened as she turned to face him, handing him the thaumatrope at the end of her sentence. If he hadn't noticed before he would see her right hand was wrapped in bandages and within her right wrist was a new tattoo. A tribal ouroboros.
"I don't believe those were my exact words. I believe I said 'let me know when you wanted to be free'.. I never said I could with definitive nature I could provide you with it. Besides I told you to let me know when you were ready, Canary."
--- There was no falseness in her statement. She never made a promise because to be free one had to want it. At best she could provide guidance to him breaking his of chains. She smiled after handing him the trinket and turned to face where the sun was starting to set.
"It has been awhile. I'm sure much as happened with you considering I've only seen you in class since, not really a time to talk about things...Heh speaking of school that place is a riot. Always something. But any case what's been going on? Staying out of trouble or getting into more hm?"
--- There were things she heard and knew. It wasn't hard obtaining information for her. After all she did get Levi's cellphone number which he never asked about how. She knew about the attack on the school how could she not? It wasn't something that could be held quietly. But school wasn't a priority of hers whether she went there or not, what happened wasn't her problem in her eyes. Well at least until it truly effected her personally. Nevertheless she inquired about what he had been up to while they were apart. He was welcomed to quiz her back.

Levi stared back into her eyes as well, both of them seeming to get lost, though he found it odd that she joined him this time. Did it mean anything? Maybe, but Levi had begun to learn that reading too much into Cereza’s behavior was something that should be done cautiously. Always with a grain of salt, though he had no way of knowing what the grain truly was. Maybe he would find out some day. His stare was broken as she handed him the device and he slowly took it from her, looking down and examining it.
He let out a light laugh as she put him in his place about not calling her. Oh, how many times had he wanted to text her or call her? Too many to count, but with everything happening and his feelings towards her so young and new to him period, he felt like he would simply end up saying something foolish. He brightly responded with a cheerful grin, the first one he had made in a while that seemed to happen on its own.
“You got me there.”
His eyes returned to the device in his hands as he turned it while she continued. It was true that had not promised “freedom”, but he was curious and would look back up to her as he responded.
“Fair enough, well there are certainly some things I would love to be free from right now, if even only for a little while.”
A permanent solution so some of his problems were unlikely to happen any time soon, but even some relief was welcome at this point. Levi was tough and could support a lot of weight on his back, but lately, he had felt like he needed to put everything down, at least for a while. Being around Cereza certainly made everything feel little lighter though.
This last month had hardened him a bit, especially as of late, with his involvement with Mikey and Riot. Mikey and Levi were a part of and yet separate from Riot; it wasn’t like they went around killing innocents like the others. Levi would have no part of that and, to a degree, neither would Mikey, at least not directly. Levi was not ashamed of his involvement, but he refrained from telling people about it, figuring that it would be unlikely that they would understand or accept it and he really didn’t feel a desire to explain himself. Levi smiled in response, looking back up to her grey eyes with his own grey orbs.
“I has been too long. It has been nice to see you in class though.” Levi paused, squinting his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose as he continued, “That school...jesus…I’ve been kidnapped more times than I care to recall.” He looked back to her with a smile and laugh in his voice, “I’m convinced that I couldn’t stay out of trouble if I wanted to and honestly, I’m a little deep right now, but I’m not in too bad of a bad place...if that makes any sense.”
His eyes fell on her bandaged hand and new piece of artwork on her wrist, though only the bandages concerned him. He didn’t know Cereza well enough to know how she would have acquired such an injury unless it was something mundane or from a fight at Saul’s. He figured her answer to a show of concern would be met with a “I”m a big girl, don’t worry about me” sort of statement, so he simply reached out and gently grabbed her hand, stepping forward and turning her wrist upwards to examine her new tattoo, holding her hand softly in both hands. He spoke smoothly as he admired the quality.
“This is new, I like it. What did you get this one for?”

'But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.' ― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings --- In the times they had ran into each other since they first met there was a noticeable difference from him. He was a bit serious to start but after the first day he seemed a bit more playful. A bit more loosened up. She wondered if she had anything to do with that considering. Yet though he smiled genuinely it was clear he was stifling something back. Something he wanted to say but maybe didn't all together. Or maybe he just didn't know how to say it. At least he could smile genuinely for with Cereza her smiles were more 'controlled'. What did that mean exactly? It meant as natural as it might have looked it didn't come from the heart. It was just an often show of some kind of amusement, beats having a dead pan face. It was a rare to ever see her smile genuinely hell even hear her laugh was never so hearty. A smirk here, a snicker or chuckle there. She often kept things with herself quite controlled. Why? It became the norm. A mechanism she just didn't turn off and when it did naturally it was unexpected and she would just wave it off. Dismiss it like she often had. Pretend it never happened.
--- Her head tilted towards him as he mentioned wanting to be free of some things even for a little while. Honestly couldn't everyone? Wasn't there something that everyone wished to be free of either forever or just for a moment. Sometimes it was a wonder what if life were made of moments even now and then a bad one. But if life were only moments then you'd never know you had one. Moments were precious weren't they? At least that's what they say. Moments were supposedly meant to be cherish right? If anyone ever said that out loud to the young beauty she'd probably just shrug them off. She listened and watched him smirking at his response. Of course he couldn't stay out of trouble. But being kidnapped constantly? Seemed like there was some stories to be told there. In a little deep? Her curiosity grew with each passing second. Couldn't have been the Yazuka that he didn't want her looking into otherwise he wouldn't be so calm. Or would he? Had it been that would he still be a little calm next to her, just because he would be away from it briefly? Interesting, curious theories indeed.
--- She was about to turn her face away and respond but was interrupted by the sudden touch of his hand against her bandaged right. Briefly she looked down and then back up to him turning towards him as he turned and stepped in flipping her wrist around. Levi was an observant guy that was established in her mind a great many times over. Cereza was just as perceptive and no fool. Seemed he was taking a page out of her book by diverting away and focusing on something else. She only used that tactic in certain situations this wasn't exactly the same. The gentle way he touched her hand was clearly with caution to her injury to which he seemed refraining himself from asking about. She wasn't doubting his interest in her new piece of body art she just knew what he really wanted to ask. Would she have responded the way she did that night about her scars? It was a 50/50 chance of it. The other scars and that which was on her hand was certainly different. It couldn't hurt to ask right? All anyone could ever do was try.
"It's an Ouroboros.. "
--- She gave a little pause to see if he had any knowledge upon it. Typically it was a serpent depicted but often enough a dragon was a variation. Had he no knowledge on the subject she would provide a little insight allowing him to keep her hand in his. There was a little tilt in her head as she glanced down at it herself she would trace the new tat in the circular formation it was in from the head to the tail once in mid sentence with her index finger from.
"They say it's a representation of many concepts...One perception revolves around the concept of the past; the tail; disappearing by being 'devoured' yet it really shifts inward out of sight but very much still exist.. Then there's the whole creation out of destruction, life and death.. Interesting no? Seemed like a fun fact to tell when someone asked, I just thought it was cool looking."
--- She chuckled at the end of her words to add a little lightheartedness to the whole thing. Was she speaking truth or lie? Maybe a mixture of both. She did tell him that night that a good liar embellishes the lie with a hint of truth. When she got that tattoo maybe she was only half thinking about the concept behind it or maybe it was more a subconscious decision. Though threw her words, her description it was interesting to find if one looked at her tattoo hers was only half eating his own tail. The tail was still dangling out of the dragon's mouth. That was symbolic in itself was it not? Only a highly perceptive person could possibly pick up on that especially when it came to her. The sun began to set, the colors changing in the sky catching her eye and touching her sky as she turned just her face to caught the setting sun on the city horizon. For a moment she probably looked rather serene with the way the light touched her. She hadn't forgotten the things she was interested in knowing that he mentioned she just choose to not speak on it just yet. She came up there to see the sunset what was funny was as often as she did she never recognized how lost in it she got until the sun was already gone - normally that is. With Levi there she would probably pick up on it sooner than later. It was little things that sometimes she let through when no one was looking. Grey's shifted over the city and sky. There was certainly something different about her ways this day as she spoke a little absently to the distance.
"I'm not a delicate flower."
--- Those words could be taken in many different context whether she meant it those ways or not. Cereza was merely referring to the way he had gently held her hand with such care. She hadn't completely neglected the fact but yet all the same didn't care that he was. She was at best a stubborn soul who didn't like to be treated like a child. To be treated like she was weak or as though someone needed to be gentle with her at fear of her breaking. Honestly maybe she really did need someone to show her a gentleness, show her it was ok. Not that she would probably believe them anyways. Lots of layers this one had.

Levi continued to hold her hand as she described her tattoo. He knew what an ouroboros was and he also knew the many meanings behind it. The one he would peg her for was something ending just as another began, the cyclicality of life and what naught. Levi looked up from her wrist and gave her a knowing glance and a small smile towards the end of his words before returning his gaze to the tattoo.
“I see...”
She may have said she just thought it was cool, but he knew better. He had the feeling that even when she told the truth, it was more like a half truth, so he doubted that the new addition to her arm was simply for decoration. Still, like before, he would not pry, despite his desire to. People kept secrets for a reason, and while Levi had no clue how many Cereza truly kept, he knew that if she wanted him to know, she would tell him on her own time. Levi did happen to notice the fact that the dragon was only about to eat his tail. This was possibly symbolic in itself. he guessed it meant that something was about to end or possibly begin again. Again, without the ability to pry, or too much respect to pry, he had no way of knowing for sure, just guesses. He head followed his gaze this time as she finished her explanation, his eyebrow cocking with a knowing smirk on his face.
“Just thought it was cool huh?”
Levi chuckled at the end of his words and he watched her stare off. He followed her gaze for a moment, appreciating the sunset, before looking back to her as she continued to stare. There was something about her that he found hard to resist, though he couldn’t put his finger on it yet. When she spoke again, Levi squeezed her hand as he looked to the sunset with her.
“Not delicate, just beautiful...” Levi paused, swallowing the sudden realization of what he had just said before continuing without missing much of the beat, “...but you know, a little help never hurts sometimes.”
He had no clue how much shit Cereza was into or if it was merely typical life issues, but he knew that she was a strong woman who hated to be pitied. Levi wasn’t much different, but he knew when to ask or accept help when he needed to. If she turned to look at him, he would release her hand and shrug with his hands out, up by his shoulders.
“Jussayin...”

“A cage stokes our emotions and imaginations, regardless of whether you are inside looking out, or outside looking in.” ― Michael Makai --- There was something about sunset that often drew in the young teen. So many often spoke about the serene feeling it gave off coupled with the stunning colors it twisted the sky into. But it wasn't truly that that made her watch it almost everyday. To Cereza it was the death of the light and the start of the shadows. The fading of the false purity's, the lies people told themselves and the emergence of sin. The beginning of their inner workings coming out thinking that maybe no one would see. Or that come morning they could just simply let the light wash it all away. It was an interesting thing the way people thought that a new day immediately washed away the old. It amused Cereza. If only it was ever that easy, but life wasn't about ease now was it. Life was about challenges.
--- Levi never seemed to question her when the opportunity was right there. He didn't push. He didn't pry. That was more than could be said about some others. That was more than could be said about herself. Cereza normally would pry if she wanted, she just was careful about how she went about doing so. Her moments were chosen carefully. But Levi it seemed like he was more into waiting for her. Giving her the choice to do so on her own if she wanted to. Maybe he didn't understand she wasn't really a sharer so it probably wasn't going to happen. Maybe if she was heavily intoxicated it was a possibility. Maybe. Maaaaayyybbee. That part about him though separated him from others. Again points to him.
--- Of course his squeezing of her hand wasn't meant to inflict pain but it was still fresh and it caused the slightest squint in her eyes which in turn caused her to pay a little more attention to his words. The way it slipped from his lips seemed completely genuine. Only her eyes steadily shifted in his direction as he tried to cover up his little moment. Being called beautiful wasn't something new to her, not for the sake of sounding conceded but she often heard it. Men tended to drop it so often it just became a thing. Yet oddly enough coming from him the context seemed different. Men often said it to her in a way to overly flirt, to swoon but not his. Her eyes lingered before her head finally turned to meet the direction as he finally let go of her hand. She said nothing initially until she finally smirked and snickered a little. A hint of mischievousness gleamed in her eyes as she stepped closer to him at first turning her shoulder towards him and nudging him playfully with it.
"Oh so you think I'm beautiful huh?"
--- Snickering she twisted her body so her back would rest against more so a little on his chest and shoulder, tilting her head back with playful batting eyes.
"Tell me again how beautiful I am. Tell me how my eyes glisten in the sunlight."
--- She couldn't help but to tease him suddenly switching her mood from that serene to her usual nature.

Levi stared back into her eyes, having clearly gotten her attention with his words, which was the idea, but it was also an expression of his feelings towards her. Levi was normally very reserved when it came to his feelings, choosing pragmatism over how he felt unless the two happened to align. However, in matters like this, pragmatism seemed to have less relevance and emotion and feelings seemed to make more sense. During their initial encounter, Levi’s pragmatic side had struggled as it fought to be relevant. Now, Levi had things figured out a little more, reaching a middle ground between the logical and the emotional: Thoughtful expression. He had not fully realised his growth to this new way of thinking yet, but it was a sign that the naive, young Asian had a little less growing up to do.
Levi hoped that she recognized his ability to avoid prying into her secrets as he certainly appreciated the fact that she had not inquired about events that had come up in thei previous meeting. Secrets were just that for a reason and prying when it wasn’t one’s business was considered disrespectful by the culture he grew up in. More than simply following a cultural belief, he wanted her to tell him on her own and if she didn’t, it was likely that he didn’t need to know, at least that was his hope.
He smiled as she nudged and leaned into him, wrapping his arms around her and looking down into her eyes. He hesitated as he often did when staring at her. Her beauty was disarming and his growing affection for her didn’t help matters. It was brief and quickly passed as he followed her lead, smirking himself and holding out a hand in a dramatic pose, looking towards the sun as he held her with the arm attached to the shoulder she leaned against. He spoke longingly, his tone following his pose, dramatic and exaggerated.
“Oh Cereza~, your eyes are like a thousand sapphires and your lips are as soft as air!”
Levi snickered as he turned his head to look at her as he wrapped his arms around her, placing a light kiss on her lips and looking to the sky thoughtfully. His mind much more focused on her than his curiosity as to what she had in store for him.
“Well, soft anyways.”

“Sanity is to the mind, insanity is for the heart, Docility is to the mind, wildness is to the heart, Tamable is the mind, Untamable is the heart, Freedom is to the mind, cages are for the heart.” ― Pushpa Rana, 'Just the Way I Feel' --- Cereza was a girl that required a sense of freedom. Of free will. Of choice. She wasn't the type of girl someone could chain down and tamed or controlled. Though there was someone from her past that would place a disagreement with that statement. However the details of that event, of that person, of the circumstances needn't been divulged in this present time. Just the remembrance of it at all coupled with recent occurrences had already caused the injury currently to her hand. There were just things people didn't like to think about and that was most certainly one of them. Cereza hated to dwell even in the smallest bit. One could say she was often running away rather than truly dealing with it completely head on. She didn't see it that way. Of course she didn't. Why would she see it any other way? Stubborn girl indeed.
--- Cereza wasn't oblivious to the fact that Levi clearly had some kind of 'liking' or 'feelings' towards her. In fact that part of her that played in the dark enjoyed that knowledge very much so. It made the cogs turn with all the possibilities of how she could use such an individual that seemingly cared enough for her. It was a cruel thought yes, but she believed in using others before they ever got the chance to use her first. But would he use her like others? She didn't know the answer for sure, or maybe she did and she chose not acknowledge the fact that he might be genuine. That there was no ulterior motive behind his interactions with her. Alas she just wasn't built to think that way. Did Cereza share the same sentiment that Levi was? She would probably answer no. Feelings; emotions were a fickle thing with this exotic teen. She wasn't devoid of them she just was too stubborn, no beyond stubborn. Maybe she was a little jaded about those things. That's probably the better word more or less.
--- But she didn't summon him here for some kind of solidification of whatever 'relationship' they had. What did they have anyways? A friendship of some sort. Heh friendship. Friend wasn't a term Cereza used loosely. To her she had a ton more acquaintances than 'friends'. Can't say Levi didn't intrigue her he did. He was 'entertaining' to say the least otherwise she wouldn't be here. She wouldn't have texted him and brought him to The Pit or even back to her apartment. Whatever the case they were here and she wasn't going to throw away her need of relaxation. As she leaned to nudge his arms wrapped around her any other girl would've blushed at the feeling, not Cereza she was caught up in the joke of it all. Yet if anyone had been watching the seen would've been surreal to them. As he dramatically stretched a hand and proclaimed her beauty, the back of her left hand was placed dramatically on her forehead pretending to be swooned by his words. She returned his snicker with one of her as he looked to her and kissed her before looking off again. The kiss lingering enough that her lips responded in kind. The softness of it was 'awkward' to her, as if almost foreign or more so just merely forgotten but it didn't read.
--- There was that momentary serene again. How funny this wasn't what she was planning at all. Though he was playing back with her he was being so gently and affectionate again. Subconsciously Cereza felt the need to pull away like that night in the apartment. It's like it bothered her for some reason or another. Without so much hesitation Cereza would turn wrapping her arms around his neck. More so laying them over his shoulders and crossing at the wrist, dangling just off a little. She had to twist it back around before it got all mushy for her. The sun had finally set to where the night sky was becoming more visible. Keeping her playful aura she snickered while addressing him.
"Come and have some fun with me tonight my canary... Let's paint the town red~ "
--- She winked, pulling a hand from behind him she'd flick down at his nose.
"Look at you getting all assertive. I wonder how daring you really truly are."
--- She referred to his kiss before she attempted to pull away and if she did she wouldn't leave without giving him a quick pat on the butt. That was the second time she had done that. If he let her go without doing anything to stop her she would turn towards the concrete barrier placing her hands on it. Without warning she would quickly pull herself over it, looking like she was going to jump off. If he didn't grab for her out of maybe possibly fearful of her insanity, she would end up landing on the smaller ledge just on the other side and laugh. If he grabbed her and pulled her back she would snicker still.

Levi wrapped his hands around Cereza's waist as she draped her arms around his neck. He felt those feelings for her again, only this time, it came with a certain satisfaction, as if he had somehow gotten closer to something he wanted or something that was missing. He was still unsure of these sorts of matters, but he knew he loved how close she was to him at the moment.
He chuckled as she called him her canary before flicking his nose and moving to turn away. He instinctively stopped her from turning away, pulling her hips towards his as he stroked her hair before kissing her again. Cereza would sense a longing in it if she was keen on those sorts of things, as if she was fulfilling something inside him. He would release the kiss, hoping she wouldn't try to run away again. He was beginning to pick up on the uncomfortable moments she had when they got particularly close or affectionate. He thought to himself as he stared into her eyes.
What are you afraid of?
He put the thought in the back of his mind for the time being as he smirked at her, still holding her hips, winking as he finished.
"Your canary? I have an owner now? And here that pet store owner thought no one would want me."

'You can either run from your fear, or stand firm and face it. ' --- Timothy Tam --- It seemed like he wasn't keen on letting Cereza just easily slip away. Of course not. Why would he? Had he allowed her she probably would've given him a heart attack at such a young age with the implication that she was going to jump off the roof. Yet there she was being pulled by her hips back into him. She still had a smirk plastered on her face till his hand ran through her hair and he recaptured her lips once again. It seemed a much longer than the previous. Different in ways she possibly couldn't explain. Or maybe she could but refused to let that door open to true acknowledgement. Why would she want to acknowledge such a thing? She didn't really feel anything towards Levi like he had to her. Or was she lying to herself that there wasn't the smallest drop, the tiniest inkling of something. Cereza was one of the most stubborn souls someone could try and get attached to. To get her to budge was like trying to move a mountain. The task was almost impossible unless one was like Superman or something.
--- It was beyond the factor of her wanting to be or feel free spirited. Her mind set was heavily on use before you can be used. To take advantage when you could. When opportunity knocked you jumped. So often she watched and waited patiently for the moment where she could twist and turn something in her favor. The end game was always about her gains. What could be done for her and for her cause. Sometimes it was a matter of simply entertainment. So often she toyed with others. Twisting things without a care for how they felt. Yet here she was with Levi and he continued to push this affection on her. Ironically it seemed to bother her. Irritate her just a little. But why? Any girl would love it. Adore it. But no Cereza wanted to shun it. During his kiss her eyes had opened partially in the middle of it, but why? It was the affection. She couldn't place the why within his attachment. She didn't truly trust it either. Yes she found him amusing, entertaining, and well of course attractive. But it was superficial. Could she see more in him? Maybe she secretly already did. And by secretly; it was even a secret to herself. To ask what she was afraid of was a question that probably wasn't going to be answered. Who said she was afraid of something? She certainly wasn't gonna own up to such things.
--- There was an air of familiarity and a road she just didn't want to walk. Would he ever get her to change his mind, her ways? Or if he kept pursuing would she just end up hurting him? Honestly the latter seemed like the more logical choice when it came to the young brunette unless something drastically changed within. Changing from within was probably the hardest thing anyone could ever do; even harder when they probably weren't inclined to do so. When he pulled away she saw his stare again. Ya know he did have nice eyes, but those eyes weren't going to sway her so easily. No no put those away Mister Levi. However with his hands on her hips and hers having magically rested on his chest - how and when did that happen?- she felt that little tingle in her again. No not that lovey dovey tingle. That tingle where she felt like going somewhere private and having a repeat of her apartment. No. No falling down the rabbit hole this time. As quick as he brushed it off was as quick as her return was. She could've just ended the day but no screw that she was going to enjoy herself. She needed a night away from everything.
"Oh you didn't know? I paid him off to tell you that. Aren't I so cruel?"
--- She smirked, musing with him. Her hands had found their way to his behind at the end of her statement giving it a squeeze before scooting gracefully away from him and begin to walk away towards the rooftop door. She would glance over her shoulder at him making another playful comment before looking forward and continuing.
"Don't pretend like you aren't looking at my ass... Fōkasu Levi Sensei.."
--- Cereza chuckled to herself teasing him as usual. She had still been practicing her Japanese obviously. She opened the door waiting for him. She didn't really have anything particular in mind just a night out. Whatever happened happened. But she was curious to see more of his assertive side.

Levi would be lying if he said his heart wasn't beating a little faster being this close to her. It also helped his mental disposition that he was clearly in her head. She hid it well, but he could tell she was thinking, at least a little bit, and she wasn't running away, so that was a plus. He had made his point and he was sure she had at least gotten the some of it. When she pulled away, he let her go this time as he chuckled at their musing.
"aww that wasn't nice. Gonna have to punish you for that one."
He watched her walk away, actually only glancing to her behind before she turned accusing him of looking. He shrugged in response as he began to walk to follow her, wondering where she was leading him.
"Why would I pretend? I think it raises more question if I don't look."

--- Maybe he did get into her head a little. But it wasn't past her barrier entirely if even truly past the first layer. No Cereza had so many defenses she probably didn't even know of them all. Did he have her thinking? It was possible but what was she thinking about that was the question. What thoughts did he put in her mind? Were they good? Were they bad? Were they irritating things she rather not think upon? Probably the latter but nevertheless he had become a thought of some kind. That was an achievement no? He should do well and take it for whatever it was worth. She might've caught something in his kiss but she didn't let it penetrate her the way he probably wanted it to. The opportunist aspect of her just knew that he was clearly attracted to her and with that she could probably work wonders. It was really a horrible thought. Levi seemed like such a nice guy. Nicer than her at least. What ever did he see in her? It must be physical how could it be anything else?
--- He couldn't truly want a girl like her could he? Why? Naw it was just a physical thing. There was no reason to think about it any deeper than that. It was stupid. Hell stupid for him to pursue but she wasn't going to tell him that now was she? Naw. She would play it up but he when he got so affectionate it seemed to always stagger her just a little. Like she lost an inch of control. However right now she maintained her control, maintained her playful coy demeanor smirking at his words.
"Ooh~ I wonder what kind of punish you have in store for me then. Color me curious... Don't be a smart ass. By the way you're forgetting your bag."
--- She motioned with her eyes towards where he left it. When he turned to walk back she would slip away down the steps Batman style. No sound no warning. When he turned back she was obviously gone. Even when he came down the steps and to the gym she wouldn't be in sight at all. But she wouldn't leave him would she? Not after dragging him there. Orion would eventually catch eyes with Levi and shake his head with a smirk and motion with his head to outside. When Levi came out he would Cereza stopping in front of the gym riding on a white Ducati Streetfighter 848. Her upper body now covered with a white leather jacket. Because her right hand was wrapped her white with red trim knuckle gloves she only wore one. Of course it stung to but hey she got there right? She would just deal through it anyways. Cereza sat there with the purr of her engine ringing through as she tied her hair into a high bun, a few strains dangling from the front and sides. Looking at him she would smirk and pat the back of her bike.
"Come on. Let's sin the night away, what do you say?"
--- She would flash a smirk awaiting him to say what he needed to say whether it was about the bike or questions and hop on the back. Once he did she'd quickly take off with no warning of course.
