Pre-note: I wasn’t really sure if I should put one of these on, but the template put the backstory so far down that I thought it'd be a tiny bit confusing if I didn’t mention it before-hand; that my character Luke is going to this school in place of (and while pretending to be) his twin sister Luna. With that said, the buildup to the backstory should be a little bit less confusing now ^^.

Alias: Luna Narcissus, Luna
Age: 15
Grade: 11 (advanced grades, see backstory)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Height: 5ft 4in
Weight: 112lbs
Eye Color: Desaturated blue
Hair Color: Cyan-blue
Personality: Although Luke may have taken the appearance and (practiced) voice of his sister, his personality remains mostly intact- using polite etiquette at this school probably wouldn’t be the best of ideas, even if it was more natural for Luna to use them at her old school. Luke takes it upon himself to generally be polite to people in most situations (within reason at a school like this), but he also prides himself on his ability to read moods to decide when it’s not appropriate to use it at all. Luke is usually very cordial around other people he doesn’t know, but he generally won’t dive into conversations with strangers. As well as this, being popular would also make him pretty uncomfortable (the most obvious reason aside)- he’d much prefer a couple of good friends who he can trust with everything. He values those close friends and his sister in high regard and almost definitely can’t imagine a world without his sister, even if he tries to deny it. At 552, he’ll keep his real identity a secret by near any means possible- the only times he’ll relax are around people he trusts enough with it. He has an incredibly strong sense of justice despite his looks normally.
Luke might not be a genius like his twin sister Luna by any means, but his reactionary skills and attention to details are what sets him apart from the average student. Picking up new skills come easy to him if he puts it as a high priority, and in equal respect, his first attempt at tasks he has never done before will usually be done well above par. He’s equally apt to make a quick comment if the mood is right, or if he’s trying to set the mood himself- and it’s more than likely it will sound well thought out as opposed to just a random comment.
Fighting Style: Luke’s style is very typical for someone (a typical delinquent) who came from an average public school in the past. Street fighting without weapons is clearly where his fighting is most at home, but in the past he has also had encounters with daggers and wooden weapons (usually used on him, rather than the other way around). Luke's fighting style is incredibly close to orthodox boxing at the moment, however since he wasn't trained specifically in boxing, there are a lot of unorthodox strategies that are more common to street brawling included. His favorite (and signature) fighting move is the generic right cross punch.
Strengths: Luke is innately good at tasks that require mentally quick reactions (i.e. he is quick to decide on a suitable counter attack in his mind, and not that he is simply physically quick to react), and also prides himself on being able to read the mood (except for romance). His attention to detail make him hard to manipulate without first gaining his trust.
Weaknesses: He isn't very good at manipulating people or lying on the other hand, and instead likes to avoid such things (unless necessary to hide his identity). He is bad at using any form of weaponry, even something as simple as a knife. He is easily swayed by people if they don't seem inherently bad, manipulative persuasion or not.
History: Luke and Luna were mixed-gender twins at birth. They weren’t identical for sure (there have only been three cases of it from what I remember), but as far as it goes you could argue that their features are pretty similar up to this day. Their mother had died during childbirth and so they were just left with their father for the 15 years of their upbringing.
Their family was not a healthy one, and both Luke and Luna were prone to abuse for different reasons from their father. Luna was considered a genius and had acquired a scholarship to a private school after winning multiple awards in her sector of study doing Human Biology, whereas Luke ended up as a pretty standard delinquent in his public school despite his own natural talents. Luna was quite clearly the preferred child of these two in their father’s eyes, but not too long after the start of the new school year, a notification would come through that Luna would have to attend PHS552 after allegedly being caught up in some (probably over-dramatized) crime, in which she was (half-falsely) accused of bio-terrorism.
After a lot of additional drama with their father, Luke took the initiative and took Luna with him to New York, in which Luke would apply for a normal school for Luna- and with a lot of effort on Luke’s part; they were able to discretely live together in an apartment at their age. Their father would still give them the bare minimum living expenses as part of an agreement between them before they left, but by this point their relation is pretty much nullified.
With the transfers successfully been accomplished (with a few white lies from Luke for the sake of his sister), they would start the new school year slightly later than the rest- only in the place of each other, as Luke insisted on it (the reputation of that school shouldn’t be a place for someone as talented as Luna).
Luke will be taking the grade above due to his sister being smart (and he'll probably fail everything though). It's fine however, because his sister will still take the official exams in person, and they'll help each other out with their homework and other related stuff.
Other: The whole 'being someone else' dynamic shouldn't come up that much, as for the majority of the time Luke will be in the place of Luna (and most people will not know that without metagaming, or without a good reason and stats to back it up). This being said, there may be times when Luke is being male, potentially during a holiday or day off. If you want this to be the case, mention it during ooc planning! He will never be shown as male in [open] roleplays for the sake of preventing confusion, but if it has been agreed on for private RP, I will still make it very clear when he is being male at the start of the post regardless.

Luke Narcissus

Appearance: At first glance, nothing would seem unusual about ‘Luna’, a typical female delinquent with outrageously dyed sky-blue hair and clear attention (or lack therefor of) drawn to the messy state of her outfit. Of course only on an incredibly detailed inspection may lead to the conclusion that she might not be who she says she is. Squared shoulders and a slightly defined jawbone would be the main giveaways to figuring out who he really is, but fortunately for Luke, mildly toned muscles and cleverly arranged methods of concealing the other big giveaways seem to make the previous things seem to fade into the minor details category- and actually help to give off a more 'tomboyish' appearance rather than a distinctively male one. Lightly enhanced eyelashes outline large grey-blue eyes, hidden only by sparse strands of soft hair when it’s not tucked behind an ear or being held away from his face with an array of various accessories like his sister used to wear it. If he can help it, he generally prefers the appearance and feel of plain clothing, although is willing to prioritize keeping the optimal figure to suit his guise over the amount of money if absolutely necessary. At 552, it’s very likely he’ll be going around with a modified version of the female uniform rather than his own stuff for financial reasons, although being able to mix and match with his sister is somewhat of a bitter-sweet victory when it comes to wearing clothing outside of school hours if he’s going somewhere potentially dangerous, or needs to stay concealed for any other reason. |
