Today, we stood on the wall
We laughed at the sun
We laughed at the guns
We laughed at it all
And when they
They told us to go
We paid them no mind
Like every other time
But little did we know..
Austin found his thoughts rolling over and over in his mind, the events thay had just taken place repeating in his head. He had seen it clear as day, pink matter and crimson liquid exploding into mist before the body had dropped. Luca's words repeating to the image.
Knuckles had never been a saint. This hadn't been the first time he was someone's brain scattered into the wind. It brought dark memories back though, like the bullet that opened his mothers own mind wide, by his own hand.
What little good still resided in this one-eyed beast was clawing it's way out from inside. Austin had always viewed himself as a stain on society. But now, things were changing. It was time for him to wash the dirt from his hands and try to do the right thing for once.
Today, I looked for a sign
With flames in my hands
A line in the sand
Between yours and mine.
And it came like fire from below.
Your greed led the call, my flag had to fall,
But little did you know..
His eyes were wide open to the real threat now. They had all gotten a preview of what was to come during the assembly, but even Austin wouldn't have thought they would have gone to such lengths as locking the masses behind a wall. It was too extreme in his eyes. And he felt guilt, because he played a large role in the gang violence himself. He was partly to blame for the actions taken by the Apostles and their figure heads. But now there was clarity in the coming storm. Knuckles knew in his heart, what had to be done.
Another day, your truth will come
You're gonna pay for what you've, pay for what you've done
You'll tell them give me back what's mine
Give me back what's mine
I had never been a coward
I have seen blood
You had sold me an ocean
And I was lost in the flood.
We were counting on a leader,
We were driven by need.
But couldn't take temptation,
And we were blinded by greed.
Maybe some of the people trapted deserved it, like Austin himself. But there was many within that didn't. And now it was likely that blood would spill in both sides. There had to be retaliation for their actions. This time they had to unite and do it right, because he didn't believe there would be another chance after this if the failed to remove the Apostles and level their leadership.
You were steady as a sniper
We were waiting on a wire
So we never saw it coming
When you ran from the fire
You can try intimidation
And you can try to ignore
But when the time comes calling
Yeah, you are gonna get yours
Another day, your truth will come
You're gonna pay for what you've, pay for what you've done
You'll tell them give me back what's mine
Give me back what's mine!
As soon as Austin had reached 'The Underground', he had started shouting to all the patches. A few sent to open the weapon cache locked in the basement, another to run the inventory check. There would be a lot of work to do, but at least they already had weapons to fight back with. And as long as they could get Yannick to stay aboard, the supply line would likely never thin.
On top of that, he would assign four groups of two, demanding they head for each wall to recon. They needed as much information as possible. They could not face this threat blindly. Not likw they had with Orochi. The stakes were too high now. He wasn't even sure if his guys would correctly gather the intel they needed, but it would be a start at least.

Austin was mentally prepared to do whatever it took to bring this new authority to it's knees, he just hoped they could get the numbers needed to face the Apostles. While he had some unsettled business with the Lightning Gang, he knew that they needed them to push forward. Hyperion and the Titans would also be required. And even though he wasn't fond of RIOT, it was likely they would be needed as well. Austin only hoped they understood how grave this situation was.
Knuckles had worked quickly to ensure they 'The Underground' was secured. Anyone that had gotten his message and decided to meet up would find various Apex foot soldiers armed to the teeth and ready to go at both the front and rear exits. Also, he had instructed a few to take the stairs to the roof and keep an eye on their surroundings. He knew not whether the Apostles had eyes and ears about. He was being as over-cautious as he could. Near the front door, was a large black trunk, opened wide. It wasI lined on the inside with excessive tin-foil. The black trunk would work as a make-shift signal scrambler, ensuring that any electronic devices places inside would be unable to recieve or send signals.
Whether others knew it or not, a revolution of sorts was coming and had infact already started as soon as those walls had be erected. Austin found himself waiting by the bar inside of 'The Underground', the usually booming dance floor was empty. The only sounds that filled the Apex gang hidout was the various mechanical sounds from the weapons being checked and loaded.
Hopefully many would show, to rise to the challenge that was a head of them. It might have seemed impossible, but Austin wasn't going to stand around and do nothing. He couldn't. In essence, he believed he was doing exactly what his father would have done. And that gave him the peace of mind he needed, to see this through til the end.
In silence he remained, his single hazel pupil patiently staring toward the front entrance, awaiting the inevitable flood of scared and angry students and civilians alike. Hopefully his message had been heard and the call answered..
