Teufel was helping his older brother move into his dorm. He carried a few boxes full of various items over from under the bridge where Dan once lived to the dorm apartment where he lived. The apartment had 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Both Teufel and Dan were in one room, and the other room was for anyone who needed a place to stay. The door was always open for whoever needed a temporary home.
"Here we are big brother! This is where I live!" He said, excited about his older brother coming to live with him.

Dan looked upon the room with approving eyes
Putting down twelve boxes Dan smiled wiping the one drop of sweat that droped when he was carrying the boxes
"Ah it's nice to share a room again"
When Dan lived under the bridge all other residents moved out it wa quite lonely.
He looked upon teufel who was carrying one or two boxes with eyes of appreciation

Teufel nodded in agreement. It got really lonely living by yourself. But now he had a brother, classmate, and a roommate all in one! Teufel remembered his sister too. Engel Spanne, back in Georgia, probably going to a regular school with normal friends. He wondered if she missed him, or even remembered him. But he had family here, and she had family back home, so it was ok.
"How did you get to be head of a gang again?" He asked curiously. At the dance he found Dan drunk playing the violin muttering stuff about a "David" and becoming the leader of a gang. How did he manage to do it? Teufel looked at Dan with eyes of curiosity and wonder

"The gang?... Oh yeah the gang!" Dan had almost forgotten because most of what was on his mind was did David burn down the white spot or the red lobster.
Dan remembered that night where he met a fellow man of the bear family
"it's a pretty long story bro... If I could say how long it was it would be around a thousand words to tell you.... But basically because I was strong?"
Dan said off handedly as he started unpacking his novelty aprons and folding them into a pile
(hehe this one has an alien and it says take me to your kitchen)

Being strong? Dan was pretty strong. Teufel wouldn't be surprised if Dan managed to beat a lot of people with his strength alone. Teufel looked at his arms. No muscles yet, just bone and flesh. As Teufel unpacked a set of tea pots and cups, he continued to talk.
"You are pretty strong big brother. maybe I'll be as strong as you are one day. Just two more questions. Who's David? And has anything strange happened to you recently?" He asked.

"David? Well I haven't seen David for years but not just one but two showed up last night I didn't even know he had a twin"
Dan said but in his mind he was still confused on what David did to him (is he a hero or my enemy).
David did one of those things but Dan couldn't remember all Dan knew was red lobster was pretty good.
"Anything strange? Hhhhmmmmmm" Dan gave it a good thought other then meeting David? Ah there was that one thing
"I had a dream about a friend the other day when I was walking down the street"
Dan said as he unpacked his lemur collection

Teufel listened to what Dan had to say. So David was someone from his past. And a dream about someone from his past? Was it the black fog that he saw before? Teufel had a vial of the black fog in his pocket. Should he show Dan or wait for something important. Teufel placed the teapots down in the kitchen room.
Before he could say anything, a clap of thunder came down and the lights went out. Teufel started to shake with fear. He hated thunder and had a large fear of it. He hadn't told anyone about it, but he was terrified of thunder. Another clap of thunder came down and he curled up in a ball in a corner shivering.

The lights went dark (I can't sort like this)
Even though it was the afternoon he couldn't see any thing he could only hear.
*shiver shiver* what was that noise thought Dan as he crawled to where the noise was coming from
There was a flash of lightning and he could see for a brief moment
(Such a kid) thought Dan as he sat beside the frightened boy
"there's no need to be afraid"
Dan said as he hugged teufel
"I'm right here"
Dan was no stranger to fear of thunder his mother used to hold him in the very same way humming a small melody
"Hmmm mmm hmm mm mmmmm mm m mmmmm m"

Teufel continued to shiver, but his breathing rate slowed slightly when Dan hugged and hummed. Another thunderclap came and Teufel covered his ears with his hands and squeezed his eyes shut. He tried to calm downby thinking of apples, scented candles and deer, but after each time he tried, more thunder came rolling down.
" it's not here, the thunder's not here.." He whispered to himself
His breathing rate slowed and and he calmed a little. He opened his eyes and uncovered his ears, but he was still curled up in a ball, shivering.

"Hhhmmmm" Dan hummed compemplating oh I know
Dan pulled in a box within arms reach it was Canadian spring clothes. He rummaged with one hand "hah here it is" what Dan pulled out were heavy duty ear muffs
"It's going to be alright said Dan as he slipped them over teufel's delicate ears
"What can you hear now!" Dan yelled knowing full well how great they were Dan had often used them when he lived in nunavut because of the blizzards that occurred during that time he couldn't hear any wind and his ears were warm too

Teufel paused for a second when Dan put the earmuffs on his head. He heard silence. No thunder? He couldn't hear anything. Then he heard Dan's voice, slightly muffled. Was he yelling? Teufel adjusted the earmuffs so that they didn't bother the antlers. He felt a little embarrassed about the thunder fear.
"Sorry about that big bro. Should we continue to unpack" he said, having a small sheepish smile.
He grabbed some lanterns in his room and lit them. Then got some boxes and opened them up to see what should go where.

"Nah I just want to stay like this for a while" said Dan as he embraced teufel in a non-homoerotic way again
If that nurse was here who could imagine the look on his face
What Dan didn't want teufel to know was he was a bit afraid too. His eyes were clenched shut almost the whole time which could now be seen with the lanterns on

Teufel went and sat back next to Dan and hugged him too. With the lanterns on he could ses that Dan was just as afraid as he was almost as scared as he was. Teufel made a decision that he would overcome his thunder fear and be stronger. He removed the earmuffs from his head and smiled.
"It's gonna be ok big brother... I-it's just a storm" he said, trying to sound brave.
To change the subject, Teufel tried to talk to Dan about other things.
"So, you're the leader of a gang? That's pretty cool. What's it like?" He said/asked.

Dan could feel teufel's arms around him and he started to ask some questions about the gang
"They are pr pretty cool I guess" Dan said a little shaky in the voice
"They all have cool animal nicknames" said Dan he was starting to forget about the storm
"They all met me under the bridge before you came to help move they offered but I told them they would just be in the way" said Dan remembering all their friendly faces
"There's about eight of them there's Grizz, fly guy, kang, honeybee, silver back, orangoutang' koala and furry raccoon last guy is pretty weird he wears a full raccoon suit" Dan said completely distracted away from the thunder eyes now open looking at teufel

Teufel counted all of the names with his fingers and let go of Dan. They seemed like nice people. Teufel smiled, happy that Dan was making some friends. He just hoped that he would be safe in all the gang events and fights.
"Alright! That sound fun. But the next time you see them could you please tell them that your little bro said this: if you try to hurt my older brother, there's going to be hell to pay" he asked smiling. He wanted for Dan to be safe out there, and he would do his best to protect him.
