A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Steven nodded to Ruby when she agreed but on the condition that he teach her Japanese if he knew it. "Yo sa sō desu ne. Sore o yatte mi masho u." (Sounds good. Lets do it.) he said to her with a smirk. "Yeah I know Japanese." He clarified, obviously if she didn't know, she wouldn't have understood him. Maybe by helping teach her, he would learn a couple thing about teacher as he did so.

Ruby grinned and gave a nod. "That's great!" She said. She didn't understand a word of Japanese, and hardly knew anything about Japan, either, but that's exactly why she wanted to learn. She was happy to help Steven out in any way she could, and she was glad he was willing to help her with Japanese. Of course, she wanted to learn several other languages as well, but Japanese was on the top of her priority list because... well... she had a friend from Japan and she'd like to learn more about his culture, really... She would grin and ask, "So, when would you like to start?"

Steven would dig into his pocket and pull out his phone. Looking at the time there was still reasonable of time left of the lunch break. "Now if you want?" He offered, and would head off slightly bags in tow. Heading towards one of the benches that was in the courtyard. If they were going to sit and try teaching the other. Well Steven wasn't going to make her sit on the floor like he had been doing. Though Steven as he would walk be looking back over his shoulder to Ruby, and as suck would not even see Finn sitting on the bench until he was there. "Oh damn." he muttered, maybe the next bench.

I had moved benches due to the bird poo poo on the previous one... I was about to walk away from the bench I had been sitting in until I saw the guy with books surrounding him trying to look for someone on the previous bench I was in. Maybe he was looking for me?? I wasn't really sure, but there's no harm in joining a class of Japanese really. I would join in. "Hello, is there room for one more??"

Steven looked up at the guy coming over and asking to join with a raised eyebrow, before looking back to Ruby and assuming that he must have heard what they had been talking about. "I don't really mind, teaching more then one I guess it's better practice." He said looking once more to the boy. "However I only one half." Steven pointed out and once again turned his head. He was going to end up giving himself whiplash if he kept turning his head like this.
"It's up to you Ruby." He said and yeah his neck was getting sore, as he turned back again. "If she says no I can teach you down the line." That seemed reasonable, that way the boy wouldn't feel too bad if Ruby didn't want him there. He didn't really know her, but standing off to the sidelines as she had been earlier, didn't make him think she was the biggest crowds person. However he could have been wrong.

Well, that does make sense. It would suck for the teacher if his/her students got intimidated by other students. It causes unnecessary chaos for everyone and makes many feel uncomfortable. Hopefully didn't seem so bad to this girl... Oh, It's her. Good thing we're acquainted with each other from earlier. Hopefully I wasn't so bad to her during our first meet. "I don't mind really. I would rather let Ruby be comfortable and productive than feel uncomfortable in her learning environment." I would wait for her to reply and give her a friendly smile to help her not get pressured with the decision making...

Wow... the answer was pending on her decision, now... "U-uh, no, I don't mind at all!" Ruby said, a little embarrassed. "The more the merrier, right? Or, uh, something like that..." She muttered. She was somewhat interested in learning the language from Steven, but Finn seemed like a pretty nice guy too, and he seemed fairly knowledgable in the subject... which was sure to give her a better understanding of it, since it was two teachers instead of one, right?

(OOC: The hilarity that is using the internet to teach myself Japanese on the fly just for this thread.)
"Well then seems cool enough to me." Steven said spinning and letting him drop down on to the bench they had been standing near. Dropping the bags of books at his feet, with slightly less care then he would normally take with books. Maybe he was a little excited by the idea of trying his hand at teaching.
Steven would wait until the pair got comfortable before smiling and speaking. "Let start with something simple, that most language lessons do. Introduction. First, saying hello in some way is good. 'konnichiwa' is your basic hello. While 'ohayō gozaimasu' is the equivalent of good morning." Steven paused to see if the basic greeting sunk in, before going on.
"Watashi no namae wa Steven desu. Means my name is Steven. Or there is the less formal, Watashi wa Sumisu Steven desu, which is I'm Steven." Steven would said, making sure that whenever he was speaking the Japanese, that he was emphasising the syllables, and pausing between words enough so they would be able to tell the different between words. One main issue he had seen in the past with Japanese, that some people spoke quickly. Causing the similar sounding syllables of words to blend together.
Once he was down, he would wave to them as if gesturing for them to try.

((ooc: I feel ya, I feel ya XD if Ruby speaks in any languages other than English and French imma have to look it up too lol))
"Wa-ta-shi no nam-ae wa Ruby desu," Ruby repeated slowly, frowning a bit as she tried to process the words and remember each syllable. "Watashi no namae wa Ruby desu," she said again, only a little quicker this time. "And, kon-ni-chi-wa... and o-hayō go-zai-masu..." She repeated those rather slowly as well. She muttered them a few times before smiling. "So, would I say... 'ohayō gozaimasu, Steven! Watashi no namae wa Ruby desu'...?" She asked, hoping she got it down right.

(OOC: Steven, I thought you knew XDD. Not bad for you guys using internet sources XDD) They aren't bad. Steven really knows his stuff. Ruby is also getting the hang of it too. Ahhh... The gift of learning. It's so fun to observe. I guess it's my turn now. "Ohayou gozaimasu!! Watashi no namae wa Fin desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu." I would give them a friendly smile to show the two that I wish for this to be a great time for the three of us. Besides his intelligence, Steven looks hella strong. He looks like no ordinary student around here. In fact, he could be one of the pillars. Good thing, I looked up the line-up ahead of time. Sticking around this guy might be a lot of fun...

(OOC: Well hopefully I won't make to many mistakes with my knowledge and learning lol.)
Steven listened to each of them in turn, smiling at Ruby figuring her way through what was asked of her, asking if she was getting it right. Only one thing about what she said stuck out, and would be a good way into getting into honorific's, something that with the dual nature of formal and non-fomal language that build up a lot of Japanese wouldn't be to bad to go into.
Fin on the other hand would surprise him, showing that he had also already knew some Japanese. "Kochirakoso yoroshiku." To you as well, Steven returned the sentiment in a formal manner to Fin, seeing as both he and Ruby seemed to have picked the more formal means of introducing themselves back to him. Then he looked over to Ruby.
"Very good Ruby... Yoku dekimashita Ruby-chan." Steven said pausing in between, emphasising that he was praising her in English and then in Japanese afterwards. "The only thing in Japanese, is when using someone else name, it is normal to use certain honorific after their name depending on who, what and how formal the surroundings. Close friends some times, drop these or shorten names and make it into a sort of nickname. There are so many though, it's slightly harder to get into." He would wait for a bit and then explain a few of the more common.
"Chan, is used for girls around your age or younger, such as a teacher to a student. Kun is the same for boys. San is your most common polite term like Mister or Miss. While Sama is it more polite version to those higher in status to you. Sensei is for teachers. While Sempai and Kouhai are upperclassman and underclassman, more often used by themselves."

Ruby nodded and listened to what Steven taught her. She paid close attention to his explanation of honorifics, which was a new field to her, but she understood. It was a way of being more polite when speaking a name... wasn't it? So like, in a way, it was saying "Miss" and "Mrs." as well as "Mr." wasn't it? She nodded in understanding and then said, "So it'd be Steven-san, Steven-sama, or Steven Sensei?" She asked, unsure of which would be accurate for him since all three seemed to fit...
((ooc: sorry for the late and sucky response >.<))

I would chuckle at the sama part. "Sama is correct but not used very often. Sama is used for honorable titles like your guests, elite members, priests, kings and queens. You can still use it for Steven-san here, but it's easier to keep it at a friendly matter since Japan is known for the modesty in themselves when speaking politely. That was very good though." I would turn to Steven and smile. "Well, Sensei. I think we are both ready to move on."

Steven was about to answer Ruby when fin spoke, however while he said trying to keep thing informal, Steven didn't like the idea of being called Sensai. He explained this. "Sempai will do. We'll all be teaching each a few things I'm sure. So no need to call me a teacher. But your right lets move on." Steven spoke and then tilted his head upward in a fraction of a second of thought, of what could be covered next.
"Let cover a few useful phrases. This is probably the one you should use as a last resort. 'Eigo o hanashi masu ka....Means do you speak English, unluckily the form for asking can change depending on the language your asking after. However as English is taught in Japan it is normally a safe bet.
However asking if someone can speak English straight away without at least making an attempt to converse using Japanese first, well I've never been but I know some places in the world don't take kindly to it. Probably the most useful question though you could know, if you wanted to visit Japan is the ability to ask for directions and understand them. So...
Sumimasen... Excuse me... Michi o kiite mo ii desu ka... May I ask you for directions?
The you can ask Wa doko desu ka? However you have to know the name of what your asking for. Even I wouldn't turn my nose up at looking up the occasional word. So, Hoteru wa doko desu ka? is asking where the hotel is, if you know the name of the hotel add so that people may be more likely to know."
Steven took a breath after the info dump and mealy hoped that he wasn't going to fast for Ruby. Fin, already seemed to have some background knowledge so her pace was probably the better one to set things at. Pulling a bottle of water from a pocket he opened it and drank some, to clear his throat after speaking so much.

Ruby listened intently as he spoke, trying to memorize what he said. Her eyes were furrowed a bit in concentration, and her gaze was on the ground as she attempted to remember everything he'd said. "I'll call him senpai, I suppose," she thought. From what he'd said, there seemed to be a better phrase than "do you speak English", so she tried to remember the last phrase that he recommended over that one. She was quiet and took quite some time processing it all... Steven seemed really smart, and she was glad that he was able to teach her so much! One of these days she'd hope to say a few things to Musashi in his native tongue. She thought that'd be pretty neat, and it'd be a kind of nice gesture towards their friendship... maybe...? She certainly did like him and wanted to learn more about him, even if it was only the language he knew...
