The lush, comforting rustle soothed the somber form as its lithe fingers slid through the grass beneath it. Backside planted firmly against the base of the sturdy oak as the figure's head lolled along the chipped bark. It's eyes fluttering softly as it tried to grasp what foothold it could retain on the reality that was slowly slipping away. Instead replacing itself with the warm, comforting embrace of deep slumber. A guttural snore pressing past the now identifiable man's lips, barely overpowering the soft echoes of the wind that barreled through the leaves overhead. A pleasant dream enveloping the mind of the new student: "Danny" Fletching.
However, this dream was not of any substance...it was simply black. As if it were no dream at all, but instead the inner layer of his eye lid. At that moment, the man jerked forward...a leathery chair laid firmly at his back. How ironic...that beautiful scene he'd envisioned had been only a dream. There was no tree...no grass...simply metal, gasoline and an aged bus driver to head their "expedition". Daniel sighed, obviously displeased that he'd interrupted such a peaceful setting by waking himself. "Oh yes...I forgot...I have a life to live." The words were whispered softly as he cracked a toothy smile, readjusting in his seat with a small turn of the head. Amber gaze set out the window as his new school came into view. It was certainly an interesting establishment...allowing corporal punishment as it did. He was assured that all the students he would find inside the walls likely deserved it...he knew he did. At least...in the sense that his victims thought he did. The school appearance itself however was fine, it didn't immediately strike any cords with the young man. As long as they had a tree...there wouldn't be a problem.
That was usually the general thought process behind most places he went to...trees were excellent grounds for napping in the shade after all. However such a thought process was cut short, the bus abruptly stopping before the front of the school; sending the teenagers forehead into the metal that framed the side of the window he was peering through. "Mmm. Oh yeah, that was a good one." He muttered, hand coming up to rub at the now aggravated skin. "It always has to itch doesn't it...." Danny complained, finally patting the spot before rising from his seat. Perhaps it was a bit disturbing that he talked to himself...but he had to sharpen his wit somewhere. Too bad he didn't have any to begin with. The thought produced a chuckle as the teenager scraped his belongings together, already being ordered off of the metal contraption by yet another disgruntled bus driver. 'Yeah, I get it...' He thought, pressing forward toward the exit as he shouldered his bag. A smile coming to his lips as he withdrew a Benjamin quietly, pressing it into the older gentleman's palm before stepping off. A scrape of his heel signaling a small turn of the teen's body, eyes set up to his older 'accomplice'. "Thanks for making the trip, I know it was off your route and all but it's appreciated."
The coat clad driver looked over the bill in his hand, pocketing it quickly: not wanting to question free money. Instead giving the boy a nod before sealing the doors and heading back off again to start his route. Daniel set his eyes skyward, sun nowhere in sight besides the orange hued rays that misted over the school buildings backdrop. He was early of course, having spent the night wide awake and on edge...he couldn't help but want to get out of the apartment. It was new, lonely (which he liked), but very foreign. So he padded along the path before finding a wall to perch up against, sliding down it slowly as his bag slid to his side. Eyes lulled as sleep threatened to take him yet again. "Maybe just a small nap before I get a few new bruises..."
(Since he is early, I would consider him staying as he is unless interrupted. So time may skip to whenever any character decides to interact with him. I am new and I look forward to some good rp.)
