"You like what you see, big guy?" the woman asked, her lips curling into a smile as that sultry voice passed softly through them. Sebastian grinned, taking in all he could see of her, from her hair to her feet, and nodding.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't," he laughed, eyes falling to the skin of her neck. Her collarbones. She was beauty personified... maybe because she looked so much like Katsumi. The thought of her made him bite his bottom lip in excitement as he got heated, causing the woman to have a spark in her eye as well, naturally assuming Sebastian wanted her like she wanted him. And, in a way, he did.
The woman - Abigail was her name - stepped closer to Sebastian, putting her hand to his shoulder and running her fingers down his arm. Her skin pressed closely to his, and she leaned in close so that her lips were but inches from his ears. "Why don't we go find somewhere more private?" He was overcome with a feeling of euphoria as she asked that, not only because of how sweet her voice sounded, but at the feel of her skin through her dress, and the smell of her perfume that wafted from her neck. His own fingers would meet her waist, lightly trailing up her sides, hovering over the skin that dress so poorly attempted to conceal.
"I've got a better idea," he started with a whisper, pulling her closer to himself and letting warm breaths fall upon her neck.
"Let's get out of here." Sebastian could see and feel the woman's goosebumps. She was intrigued, possibly even more than he'd been, and as she pulled away from close proximity, he could see the lust in her eyes.
She's mine.Abigail nodded, taking Sebastian's hand in her own and guiding him throughout the party, wading through the sea of inebriated teens sucking face with men and women they'd either never see, or never remember after this night. As they approached the door and made their exit, it was as though the release from the cacophonous chamber the party was in only made the two much more eager. She pushed Sebastian up against the wall and planted a kiss on his lips, one heated with a yearning, but passion was clearly missing. So, while he did not dislike it, he frowned, though it was one she would never notice.
"So,
Sebastian, is it?" She asked with a grin as she pulled away and took his hand in her own. "I hope you know, I'm about to rock your world." She seemed confident, not only in the way she held herself and how she walked, but her voice, her tone, her eyes. Everything about her was unfairly seductive, and as they made their way to his home he could only think about taking her, making her his. Impure thoughts plagued his mind, running rampant as he envisioned her pushing him into an alleyway and mounting him then and there. Every twenty feet, he thought of a new scenario of where, when, and how they would make passionate love.
But then he remembered she lacked passion.
"Patience, beautiful. You can have everything you want in a moment," he whispered into her ear as he led her into the apartment building. Sebastian guided her down the halls, avoiding any and every camera he could, and those he could not avoid he stood in front of so that they could never catch her reliably. They stopped at the lift, and he pressed the button to the thirteenth floor. Those gates closed, and Abigail could not contain herself. Maybe it was the liquor, maybe it was the drugs, maybe it was just teenage hormones, but with no one around to watch, she threw herself at him like an animal in heat.
The few moments that passed in that elevator were some of the most heated Sebastian had experienced since Katsumi disappeared, and each was one he relished to the fullest. He carried her in his arms, and as the lift opened, he would continue to do so all the way to the old room he shared with his lover. Pulling the key from his pocket, he struggled to open it with Abigail obstructing his vision and his concentration, but after much difficulty he would finally succeed. He kicked it open, wrapping his arms tightly around her, and kicked it back shut as he walked in. He wasted no time, immediately taking her to the bedroom, where he threw her down to the bed.
Some time later...
Sebastian lay there, his own body pressed tightly to the back of Abigail's under the covers. Arm wrapped around her stomach, the two were panting heavily, both with ecstasy and surprising passion. He turned her so that she might face him and planted a kiss to her lips, before removing the covers and getting to his feet. Stretching, the young stalker made his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
"That was... unbelievable," Abigail laughed.
"So I'm told," Sebastian grinned in response.
Sebastian spread the toothpaste across his toothbrush neatly, before wetting it and placing the bristles against his teeth. Abigail, meanwhile, laid in the bed comfortably, stretching every now and then. "Hurry up," she teased, hugging his pillow to her chest. He spit the paste out and cleaned his mouth and toothbrush, then looked at himself in the mirror. As far as she could see, the young man held a smile on his face. But as he looked in that mirror, he saw a monster, and over his shoulder was a phantom of the woman he loved. She looked up at him with pained eyes, and he turned to face her, but she was no longer there. The young man laughed, placing his toothbrush back on the sink, and then walked back out to Abigail.
"So impatient," he jested, crawling back onto the bed and straddling the woman. She giggled, placing her hands on his stomach. "Can you blame me, you stud?" He smiled in response, leaning down and kissing her gently. His hands traveled the bed, one tightly gripping the sheet, another taking one of his pillows in hand and pulling it toward his chest. He pulled away from the kiss, waiting with his forehead pressed to hers for a moment, before leaning back and smiling down at her. She smiled back.
As he stared down at her smile, Sebastian took the pillow and placed it against Abigail's face. She was not expecting this turn of events, and so she did not know how to stop it from happening initially. When she finally realized what was happening, she began to thrash wildly, attempting to escape from underneath him, to pry the hand from the pillow and escape. Muffled screams could be heard, and Sebastian merely addressed them with a grin and a single tear that fell down his cheek.
It felt like forever that Abigail struggled, throwing her weight in every direction in her vain attempt at saving her own life. Finally, her hands grasped at Sebastian's forearm, fingernails digging into his skin, and he could feel her strength leave her body. Her grip weakened, and her arms fell to the bed once more. There was no screaming, no struggle, no warm breath continuing to barrage the pillow. He left it pressed to her face a few moments longer, then pulled it away, and the sight of her face made him hyperventilate. Her make-up was all over, mascara running down her cheeks, tears drying up and saliva escaping her mouth. Her eyes were filled with terror, and in them he could see she no longer held any life.
"Ab... Abigail..?" he whimpered between breaths, tears rolling down his face. He placed his ear to her chest in an attempt to look for a heartbeat, but heard none. Sebastian began to sob loudly into the sheets on her stomach, fingers curling into fists as he began to punch at his bed in anger. He rolled off of her, staring into his ceiling, and all he saw in the stucco were images of her, of Katsumi, and it drove him mad. Fingers running through his hair, Sebastian tossed and turned, eventually to the point where he fell off of his bed and to the floor. The young, naked man struggled to his feet and stumbled to the bathroom, barely catching himself on the threshold as he nearly fell face forward. He looked back at her, and not only did he see her dead body, but he saw the dead version of her, her spirit, standing over herself and sobbing quietly, asking "why?"
Sebastian looked into the mirror, seeing the phantom of Katsumi behind himself wear a grin on her face.
"YOU DID THIS!" he roared, pointing into the mirror at her. She simply smiled wider and draped her arms over his shoulder, placing a kiss on his cheek. It was not real, no, but he felt it, and it infuriated him. He loved her, yes, but he wanted a woman here and now, and he felt as though Abigail was to be it - but Katsumi wanted Abigail dead.
"JUST LET ME BE HAPPY!" Pushing the phantom off of his shoulder, Sebastian spun around swiftly and slammed a fist forward into his wall, completely shattering it where he struck and causing debris to fly all over the room. He dragged his hand through the wall, leaving a horizontal hole within it and large chunks of debris scattered across the bathroom floor, before collapsing just outside the door and sobbing quietly to himself.
It must have been roughly an hour before Sebastian regained his composure, and he only did so when he heard a knocking on his door. The man struggled to his feet in a panic, looking over at the dead woman on his bed. "Police - open up," he heard at the door and cursed quietly to himself. He threw the blankets over her and quickly put on a pair of pants, stumbling to the door.
"Can I help you, Officer?" he asked, opening the door and looking up at the cop.
"Got a call about some noise over here - can I come in?"
"No. My girlfriend is sleeping at the moment, as was I. You can leave.""I'll be frank, sir, I--"
"You want to come into my home, you come back with a warrant. Otherwise, you can leave. My girlfriend has work in four hours. Let her sleep."The officer nodded, trying to get a look into the room but he couldn't see over Sebastian. Hesitating, he walked away. Sebastian just watched until he turned down the hall, then waited a few extra minutes before he shut the door in a hurry. Suddenly, the panic was gone, and Sebastian knew exactly what he had to do. He got dressed quickly, throwing on a large leather jacket and hooded cloak to conceal his features. He then cleaned Abigail's face, put her dress back on, and then put some of Katsumi's old sweat clothes on her. Pulling a hood over her face and his, he hoisted her into his arms and draped hers over his shoulders, as though she was holding him and he was simply carrying around a woman he was affectionate with. He then left the room, making sure the camera caught the two of them exiting.
A few moments passed as he left the building, and he convinced anyone who looked at him that he was holding a living woman by pretending she was whispering to him, and occasionally kissing her on the cheek and laughing to himself as though they were having a conversation. As he expected, no one questioned it. Unhindered, it was easy for Sebastian to find a place and a method to dispose of the body, and after a small moment of thought, he decided it would be best to head to the southern end of the pier.
"What are you going to do with her?" asked Katsumi, appearing from the shadows and dancing around Sebastian as he carried Abigail. He looked over at her and frowned, and as she noticed it, she stopped dancing.
"... did I upset you, Sebastian?" He couldn't look at her. All Sebastian could do was look forward and continue walking, holding Abigail to his chest tightly. This seemed to upset Katsumi, as she stopped following for the moment, and began to cry. She was quiet at first, but eventually began to sob audibly, and it halted him in his tracks, causing him to curse quietly.
"If you want an explanation then follow me. But don't make a scene, not here. They can't see you. If they do, this is done," he spat continuing on his way. It seemed she'd gotten the message, and continued to follow him.
"I didn't mean to hurt you, alright? I just," he started as he climbed down to the bottom of the pier.
"I'm lonely, Kat. And she looked like you, and yet you make me - I didn't want this, and you made me do it." He placed Abigail's body on the sand, then looked about for large rocks. He found several, and stuffed them within Abigal's sweater, tying the arms around the waist so they would not fall out. From there, he lifted her into his arms and carried her toward the water, tears streaming down his face. He just wanted to be happy, but it seemed as though that was an opportunity being denied to him.
"Sebastian," Katsumi started, as though she was choking back tears as she watched her lover carry the dead body toward the water.
"Don't ever leave me. Please." She pleaded, and it only served to anger Sebastian, quickening his pace as he waded through the water until it was up to his chest. He dropped Abigail's body and kicked it as it floated down, allowing the current to pull her as little as it would, and he would stand there for a moment, breathing heavily.
"You shouldn't have to say that," he replied after a long wait.
"I know, but-""But what? You know I love you, Katsumi, and that's never going to change. So stop acting as though I don't, like I'd stop caring any day now. I can't stop. I couldn't, even if I wanted to."After yet another long pause, Sebastian would turn around to find Katsumi hovering before him, directly above the water. She laid on the air as though there were a flat, solid surface beneath her, her face hovering not three inches from his own. The two looked into one another's eyes, hers cold and lifeless, his filled with passion, as he ran a hand through her hair. While any other would see him gesturing in the wind, he himself felt Katsumi's lifeless body in his palm, and leaned in to kiss her. She kissed him back. It made her happy, it made her ---
Sirens could be heard in the distance, causing Sebastian to break away, startling both himself and his lover. In a panic, the young man made a mad dash through the water, scrambling back onto the sand. The sirens grew louder, and he could see the flashing lights as the cops made their way onto the pier. Katsumi hovered above him, peeking her head through the platform to get a view of what was going on. Sebastian threw himself into the shadows, almost immediately disappearing as he did so. He waited, quietly hyperventilating, and she hovered before his face once again and put a finger to his lips. He nodded, and in his quieted state he could hear the shuffling of police officers, and parts of their conversation.
"... this is, ain't it?"
"Apparently so. Witness claims he saw a large male in a black hoodie carrying what they assumed to be a woman down here, but I don't see nobody."
"Well he clearly ain't up here. Let's check below."
"Sure you wanna do that? What if it's a Haas thing? Not worth riskin' my neck over."
"Haas would tell us, you idiot. Come on, it won't hurt to do our friggin' jobs for once."
Shuffling footsteps could be heard as the cops made their way down below the pier, to where Sebastian was at, and where he had disposed of Abigail's body. His heartbeat quickened, and he could feel sweat on his brow as they drew closer. Each step they took toward him feel more and more anxious, and it was only worsened when the larger of the two cops pulled out a flashlight. He shined it directly under the pier as he walked, and Sebastian shrunk further into the shadows. He shined it away from Sebastian, and the teen relaxed a little bit. Then, suddenly, the man flashed it directly on Sebastian and ---
And he saw nothing. The cops looked toward one another and shrugged. The flashlight was turned off and reinserted to its holster, and the two cops continued to chew the fat as they made their way back to their vehicle. Once again, Katsumi peaked her head through the platform and watched as they left. The very moment they did, she motioned for Sebastian to make his escape before anyone came back.
