A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

"Not everything is what it seems... on the surface." (MUST READ: Open only to those that are on the finalized sign-up list: Hemera/Nyka Day, Aldritch Hexell, Ruby, Tobias Ross, Felix Booker, Musashi Hattori, and Ira Defaire. Rounds will move every 48 hours, unless everyone has posted before the deadline. Only one post per round allowed, and only after the GM has posted. This minor event is geared more towards solving puzzles, you will not be able to brute-force your way through this. Rewards will be given based on how well you participate and figure out how to solve the puzzles.) Today started out normal, the usual. However, today will be different from every other day... you just don't know it yet. It is evening for Hemera, in a park close to her home. Aldritch is in a small convenience store near his home... and said convenience store is currently in the midst of a robbery. Ruby is in a mall near Musashi's home, currently browsing through one of the many stores. Ira is currently in the girl's washroom in the school, standing in front of the sink, as the water flows freely from the tap. Felix is sitting on a subway platform, waiting for a train that is supposed to come in... but hasn't yet. As for Tobias and Musashi, where you two are is all up to you... but it is a place familiar to you, a place you frequent, but a place that no one you know is currently at. Now then... the most important question of all. How and why are you where you are?

God help the o u t c a s t s TAG. @xxx WORDS. xxx MUSE. xxx NOTES. xxx |
Now, as good of a sense of direction that she had, it was undeniable that sometimes Ruby got a little... lost. She didn't necessarily have a bad sense of direction--in fact, she had learned how to make her way around some places with both eyes closed--but that was only because she knew said places like the back of her hand. When she'd been somewhere enough times, she'd memorized it and would never be able to forget them. Every precise little detail--everything. But she wasn't in an entirely familiar place. Ruby hadn't been living in America for too long, true that may be, and she didn't necessarily get lost often... but she had a hard time navigating around the city from the rat's point of view--when she was up on the rooftops she could see things just fine and get around easily. But it didn't matter. She was sure she'd start memorizing the layout of the city soon enough. After all, she was likely to spend much of her future in New York... But for now, she was cutting through a mall. At least, that's what she was supposed to be doing. The girl thought it'd be easier to cut through the mall than go all the way around it, in order to get to Musashi's house. Perhaps it was a little unexpected, but there was something she wanted to try telling him and she thought she'd just drop by where he stayed. And as much as she loved running around on the tops of buildings, she decided to try going through the mall for once, instead of over. Around certainly seemed like it would take too much time. But before she could even get too far through the mall, the girl clad in black would stop her brisk walk when a particular store caught her eye. Normally, Ruby didn't find much fancy in shopping--it seemed like too normal and girly a thing for her. But then, she was trying to become more normal... and perhaps acting like a girl once in a while wasn't so bad. But that wasn't why she'd stopped--she could easily have tried to put more effort into conforming any other day and moment. However, there was something in the mall that caught her fancy. Something she couldn't really resist... A jewelry shop. Lightly padding her way into the small store, she would start looking around with a wide eye. Of course, she absolutely adored jewelry, and she found every piece beautiful and really couldn't keep herself away. Even if she couldn't really afford to buy anything, she didn't care to wear jewelry much anyway--but oh, she loved to look. And so, completely distracted from her previous mission, the girl would start strolling around the shop, studying every ring or necklace that she thought was well-crafted. She took in many details and designs, studying them and mentally telling herself whether she liked them or not for that particular deign or whatnot, and why. But then, her violet eye stopped looking around when it happened to fall upon a silver locket. It was a modest piece of jewelry, the locket in the shape of a small heart, and it was at that moment that she felt hers almost stop. Without thinking, the girl lightly placed her hand below her collarbone, feeling for her own locket of similar design and simplicity. She'd continue to stare at the locket on display that reminded her so much of her own, and instantly she was filled with nostalgia. She couldn't help it, really. And looking at the price of the piece of jewelry certainly didn't help. A little over a hundred dollars--not too different a price from how much hers had cost. She couldn't really help thinking about it. But just looking at it, for whatever reason, made her sad. Of course, her locket should be even more moving--as it was the actual locker her brother gave to her--but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Something about seeing it all as just a moment of chance, it brought up quite a few familiar feelings she'd tried to bury deep down. Ruby would turn away and leave the store, walking back out into the mall with her hand still gripped around her locket. "Jet really did do a lot to get me this. Even if it doesn't seem like a lot to someone else. That's a fortune," she thought, closing her eyes tightly as she took in a deep breath. "But that doesn't matter! It's all better now--and that reminds me! I still need to tell Musashi that thing!" She would leave old memoirs of the past where they belonged, she'd spent enough time there that she didn't need to.

Felix found himself at the subway, late at night. He was tired, having gone to a friends house for a small party, before having to head out on his own. He lamented the fact that the use of his legs was restricted. Staring accusingly at the braces that confined them. Normally it would have been an easy run home for him, but for now he was stuck with public transportation, as he was sadly becoming more and more used to. He sat down on the subway bench, setting his crutches aside for the moment as he relaxed on the bench.
It was supposed to be a normal subway ride, like any other day. But for some reason he felt unsettled. The entire line was empty, with him as the only person. Not only that but he hadn't seen or heard a hint of a train for the past twenty minutes that he had been sitting there. He checked his phone, but it seemed to be frozen. He couldn't unlock it, and the time read the same as it had twenty minutes prior. Not only that, but the lights were just off, as if the subway was abandoned, even though he had been there just yesterday! He was starting to get nervous as he bounced his legs anxiously, murmuring to himself. "C'mon, c'mon. Sub, where the hell are you?"

[subjects: Ruby ] [tags: the sun; the firelord] FOREST, FOREST OF THE TITANS.
Musashi was standing near the end of the road that led to where both of the Titan towers were currently residing. Of course the Towers weren't at the very beginning of the end of the road, nah, the Titan Towers weas about another fifty plus miles deep into the forest. Only he, his brother, and of course the love of his life Ruby knew about the location. The rest of the members had yet to get the chance to see the place, and probably never was ever since the incident involving the Lightning Gang. It wasn't like the group was disbanded even though that was the word around the school. He still had a large number of people who were still loyal to their cause in the school.
This time however, was going to be different for the Titans. He would keep the number of members in the main branch at an extremely low number. Dark lord. Voldemort. Alex. Musashi loved the kid, but the guy was just too lost to be someone he could really trust and rely on. He was always going to be a Titan no doubt, but until the kid found himself the Hattori would make sure to keep him at a distance while at the same time helping him to grow into someone that could be trusted. He had more pride that anyone he had ever known so it definitely had to count for something right? Musashi had no idea why he was here or what was in store for the rest of the day. Nowadays he spent his nights alone in the Tower. The only people he really talked to was his brother whenever he was around and Ruby.
"Why am I here?"
He questioned to himself as he sat on the road below him staring up into the high trees above him. So much had happened within the past couple of days. He was supposed to be meeting up with Santana, but the guy had gone AWOL so that was that. And now the school was being under attack practically by the new student dean. He even went as far as to kill a student just so he could prove a point. If people didn't think the school system was fucked up they definitely knew it now.
"Sigh... Why Am I here... What am I supposed to do..."

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | 'Ding' The chime on his local convenience store chimed as people entered. Aldritch could be seen on the aisle where chips would be located, dumping various junk foods on his basket. He hummed to the tune of 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' as he continued to pick his snacks off the shelves. It was all normal, but then, something interrupted the wonderful music being played at the convenience store's speakers. "Everyone FREEZE!" Shouted one man wearing a ski mask as he raised his gun up, pointing at the roof. "YOU! Give me all the money in that cash register!" The man said to one of the employees of the store. Behind him, three more men in ski masks entered the shop, all of which held a gun in their hands.
One of the robbers approached Al, and so did the remaining robbers to other innocent shoppers. The robbers pointed their guns on the heads of those whom they approached, one of which being Aldritch. As he felt the gun steadily rested on top of his head, he began to sweat. The robber then started to forcefully search Aldritch's body for any of his belongings that might be of value. "EY! Cut it!" Aldritch shouted as he got pissed off of the robber shaking his body. "GOT A PROBLEM!?" The robber which held his gun on Aldritch's head shouted back, pressing the gun a lot more down on his head. Having no care as to what would happen to him, Aldritch retorted. "GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME!"

Shortly after school had ended, Hemera had gone home and fallen asleep while listening to some trap remixes of popular songs that had come out that year. It could really put someone to sleep. She tried to roll over and ended up falling off of her bed. "Ow......" She reached up to rub her head and opened her eyes. She wasn't at home. Looking up and at her surroundings, she saw that it was a park. She had been laying on the park bench. How she got there, however, was another question. What exactly happened here? After a quick exam, she noticed she had the same clothes that she had on before falling asleep. Blue, flowing tank top, flared blue jeans and a pair of sneakers. Whoever or whatever had moved her, they didn't touch her clothing. Could this be a dream? No, that hit to her head seemed real. She'd have to check again. She raised her thumb to her mouth and bit it hard. Yup, that hurt. This was a physical reality. What in the world was going on? Instead of panicking, Hemera first tried to talk to Nyka. "Hey, Nyka...what's going on?" "If I knew, I would tell you," replied the second half. Hemera closed her eyes and saw Nyka lounging on her favorite couch, staring at her. "Big help you are, Nyka," commented Hemera. Bringing her hands up, she realized she still had her headphones plugged in to her phone. She brought her phone out and saw there was no service. In such an open area, there should have been plenty of bars. Oh well. Could be a faulty error of the cell company. Good thing she had all her remixes saved on her device and not in some Cloud. She simply sat back on the bench and stared at the fountain in front of her, listening to a KNY remix of Blue by Eiffel 65. It was good. It would allow her to think about what was going on. She closed her eyes and leaned back, crossing her slender legs. Her long braid fell behind the bench as she began to nod to the beat of the music. Yes....this would help. Now.....
What in the world was happening?

Washing her face furiously, Ira grabbed one more paper towel from the dispenser and patted her face dry. She was ready to head home, and she was still utterly groggy. Exhausted by her thoughts; cut loose by the knife of exasperation.
Heading out of the bathroom, she proceeded to swipe her phone idly, unaware of her surroundings.

(OOC: Lock your stats in your post. These will be your stats until the end of the event. Unless specified, the familiar place your character ends up in is yours to decide.)
Hemera/Nyka: As Hemera stared into the fountain in front of her, as soon as she blinked, her environment would suddenly change, as she would find herself in a room very familiar to her... almost eerily familiar. It was her childhood bedroom, as it appeared before the incident happened. On a nearby table, she would find a candlestick where a table lamp should be, and behind her, were three doors, labeled Artless, Imperious, and Superficial respectively. For now, she should take the moment to get her wits about her, and look around the room.
Aldritch: As Aldritch found the barrel of the gun pressed right up against his head, one minute, he would be straddling the line between life and death, the next minute, he would find himself lying on the floor in a place familiar to him, but also completely devoid of life. With the imminent threat of death no longer looming above his head, literally, he could take the time to explore his surroundings.
Ruby: As Ruby closed her eyes and took a deep breath, the moment she re-opened them, she would find herself in a place very familiar to her. She would find herself standing in a mall from her early teenage years. The mall completely empty and silent, she could go around and explore the area, but could not go anywhere else, as the glass doors were completely opaque, as opposed to clear.
Felix: As Felix looked around, he would notice three news boxes beside the bench he sat on, the one closest to him listing the cost as 50¢, drawing his attention. He would find he had no loose change on him, but considering there was no one else around, there was only one other option, if he wanted some reading material while he waited.
Musashi: As Musashi stared up into the sky above him, which seemed to stretch for miles, once he blinked, he would find himself in a place familiar to him. He was back in Japan... but in a place with no one around as far as he could see. He could explore the building, but was unable to leave and go outside, the nearby windows completely opaque.
Ira: As Ira walked down the hallway, her footsteps echoing through the empty area, as she swiped her phone once more, she would find herself in a place all too familiar to her... She was back in a place from her childhood. There was no imminent danger around her, so she could explore, but there was also no one around either.

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | As the robber pressed his gun even harder on Al's head, he knew he was done for. Aldritch closed his eyes, knowing what would happen next. Last thing he heard was the sound of the gun cocking, it was the end of the line for him. He waited for his demise, waited for the gun to be fired. But nothing happened, he doesn't even feel the gun on his head anymore, neither hear the pleading customers inside the shop.
Aldritch opened his eyes.
"Wha-." The surroundings had changed, and he knew exactly where he was. Was he dead? Is this the purgatory? Aldritch began looking around.
It was his old room back when he was still in the orphanage. He remembered it clearly, and all he could say was, it was exactly like this. It was a big room, wooden floors and white walls, there were five bunk beds on both sides, and a small drawer as well as a chair beside each. It was a big room, considering how him and nineteen other orphans once occupied it. But where's the people? "Mother Margaret! Mother Geneva!?" He shouted, calling for the nuns who once cared for him as a child. He called over and over again, but no one responded. He began searching the place, first off, the door. Al tried to open the wooden door first, turning it's knob to see if it was open, if not, he'd try opening the single window found at the very back of the room, if he still failed to open it, he'd start looking for anything that might be new to the place, for clearly, something's not right over here.

One moment, she was staring at the fountain. The next moment she was sitting in her childhood bedroom from so many years ago. "Wha...." She was sitting on her old bed. She took a moment to caress the comforter's purple hue. Hemera had always loved the color. It was a powerful shade of royalty and power. She bounced lightly on the mattress and smiled slightly. Looking around she saw the red oak desk she always studied so hard at, the door to her closet containing all of her school uniforms and regular clothes, the fuzzy rug that covered the carpet part of the way. All of her stuffed animals were stacked in a hammock that was constructed near the door that lead to the rest of the house...then those three other doors....wait. What were those? Standing up, she looked around some more. On her desk was a candlestick where her lamp used to be. The three doors exhibited three words, one embellished on each one. "Artless? Imperious? Superficial? What's this all about?" She put a hand to the chair at the desk and felt none of the warmth that she expected. Instead, it was cold to the touch. Hmmm.... She tried to leave the room using the doors to her closet and the rest of the house, but no luck. The handles wouldn't even turn. "Peculiar..." She walked over to her window and opened the curtain, only to be met with darkness. No streetlights, no television lights from the house next door....nothing. Pure darkness. Releasing the fabric, she began to think. "So, I can't leave through the window or the two doors. I'm guessing I must leave through one of those doors?" said Hemera, looking back to the doors in question. It wouldn't be entirely out of the question. This had to be a dream, except she confirmed it wasn't already. To be sure, she bit her thumb once more. Sudden pain erupted. Yep, this was real alright. What to do...what to do... Hemera began to examine the room inch by inch, hoping to find some sort of clue as to what was going on...

Ira tensed up almost too painfully, as she found herself right smack in a pond, while she screamed and flailed her arms. She wasn't exactly sure how she ended up in a pond--everything was excruciating slow, before life decided to toss her angrily into a pond, as though she had done the pond some personal wrong.
"NO DUCKS." She gurgled into the pond.
"NO DUCKS." She screeched in fear.
It would have been fairly nostalgic; relieving her childhood nightmare of that one time in which she fell into a duck pond and those monstrous beats decided to peck at their 'newcomer' curiously, in wonder of who was their new protege. It would be nostalgic.
If she wasn't focused on not dying.

What was going on? The white-haired girl would whip around in alarm at the sudden change of scenery, her violet eye glancing over the bare scene of the abandoned mall. But that wasn't all that bothered her. As though the fact everyone had vanished wasn't enough, suddenly things didn't seem right--it was a mall, alright, but not the one she recalled being in moments before. "Hello?" She called, running down the oddly familiar yet strange walkways in the mall. There was no answer, and the young lady would stop her step where she stood in the plaza of the mall, glancing around for the sake of finding someone--anyone, but all in vain, as everyone seemed to have vanished. "What happened? Where is everyone? Where am I? Was I raptured to somewhere unknown... no... wait... I know this place..." Ruby would stop and squint at one of the shops just across the way before her eye widened. "No way! It's the old costume store I used to work at in England!" Glad to have found something she could recognize, and finding a small bit of hope from it, Ruby would run inside the shop and look around at it's emptiness. "What in the world is going on?" She muttered, looking around at the things in the store. It seemed almost exactly like she remembered--though a few things did catch her attention. But the first matter at hand that she wanted to confront was one of the windows that showed the outdoors... at least, it was supposed to. But instead it looked like someone had painted over it with white paint... or something. "Odd," she muttered, looking around. "I have no idea what's going on... This is so... uncanny. Is this a vision of some sort? No, it wouldn't seem so real--it'd be just like a dream..." Ruby would sigh and pinch the bridge of her nose in frustration. "What is going on?! I'm supposed to be in America--I can't be here again! And where the heck is everyone?! And how did I even get here?!" She'd let out a frustrated groan and throw her head back, standing idly in the center of the store with her eye fixed on the ceiling. "Mon dieu," she muttered with a sigh. "Did I get sent to the past, somehow? I don't think so... there seems to be some things wrong with this picture," she thought, lowering her head again to look around with a frown upon her face. "The windows are upsetting. And something doesn't seem right about it. Not to mention there's no way this could really be happening, but whatever's going on, I guess I'll go with it, since there's not much I can do... Whether this is an illusion, a dream, a test, or a trap of some sort, there's no point in fretting over it. I just need to try to figure out what's going on, or at least try to figure out how to get back to my world. Am I in another world--like an alternate world similar to my own that can only reflect things from my past? Creepy..." Surprisingly, Ruby seemed pretty calm, despite the situation.

[subjects: @inthepast ] [tags: the sun; the firelord] THE SKY.. ITS... GONE?
In an instant it seemed as if he had just teleported somewhere. Slowly raising himself up from off the ground he begin to look around the strange, yet familiar place. "How the hell did I get here? And where is everyone?" He asked himself as he constantly looked around to see why the place was so familiar to him. "Someone must be playing games. Humph, yeah I said it." He said to himself out loud as if trying to reach whatever was the cause for this. "This is the place dad use to take Ty when he was too busy to take us home right away. I think this is where he and the Triad use to meet up." He'd say with a grin on his face as he looked over to the bench that he and his brother once sat when they were just boys.
He remembered how he and his brother would play the guessing game at what was going inside the meeting room. "I wonder.." He spoke softly to himself as he begin to traveling up the main floors stairs to the next level where his father use to go. His hands slowly reaching over to the door knob. A grin appearing on his face as he did so. He felt like he was breaking the law by doing this, and at the same time vindicating himself by finding out what really went on in the room. "Of course.... Sigh.." He spoke to himself in disappointment as he opened the door to find no one was in there.
"Damn.. This place is completely useless now."
He thought to himself closing the door feeling as if he would never truly know what was going on in those meetings. "Alright, time to get out of this place. I'm sure something outside will reveal to me whats going on." He'd say as he traveled down the stairs keeping his eye on the exit. OR where the exit used to be. The sudden noticed paused the younger Hattori in his footsteps. "How the hell didn't I notice this before.... And no windows as well." He muttered to himself at the end of his statements. He was trapped. "I wonder if blasting myself out of here would help, but that would probably only be giving into who ever is causing this.. Or maybe I'm just dreaming."
He spoke to himself just choosing to sit down on the stairway. He figured that he would just let whatever happen come to him instead of find it. These situations were better off that way anyways. He wasn't going to waste his time playing any games. He knew this wasn't the forest. This was indeed the past. No. A figment of his past.

Looking down at his pocket watch and seeing that the hands within moved not an inch, Tobias closes his eyes as he retraces the events that led him to arriving at the current situation.
Think back now.... What was I doing?
A cascade of memories flooded his mind as his actions within the day were refreshed. Tobias had shown up to school and moved his way toward the principal's office to only be turned aside from the endeavor while being told that he was far too busy to speak with a troublemaker. As Tobias pressed the situation and his point, the new muscle of the Student Dean began to show in great numbers. This was not something that he could deal with at the moment. He had turned the corner as if to leave to somehow wind up within the office that conducts his physical therapy sessions, yet no one was present. How strange this seemed to him. Was this a dream?
Pinching his arm and feeling the pain instantly, Tobias knew that something was wrong.

Felix smacked his phone in annoyance. It wouldn't do anything other than display the time, which currently wasn't moving for whatever reason. He sighed, looking around for something to do in the empty subway.
His eye caught on three news boxes and sighed. "How far I have fallen." He picked up his crutch, letting out a small grunt from the exertion and hobbled his way over to the boxes. Fumbling around in his pockets he found no loose change. "It's moments like this I wish I was Obama, dude had hella' change." Felix cringed at his own words. For one he was so bored he was talking to himself, and for second he had seriously said 'Hella'.
Driving the painfully cringe worthy sequence from his mind he did what any broke, abandoned, rebellious youth would do -- he broke some shit. Smashing his foot into the blue news box, knocking it over and spilling glass shards all over the floor. Leaning heavily on his crutch he got down and dug out a fresh newspaper. Tucking it under his arm he hobbled back to the subway bench before opening it, a wave of fresh old timey newspaper scent flowed into his nostrils. OOC
