Hemera/Nyka: As Hemera began to examine the room inch by inch, she would notice a small metal plaque located on the wall to the right of the door marked "Superficial." Upon closer inspection, she would see writing, but it appeared completely illegible. Her best guess would be it was text or some sort of code... or instructions to help her figure out what to do. As it were, she was unable to read the lines, but if she reflected on what she could do to figure out how to read it, she would be one step closer to getting out of the room.
Aldritch: As Aldritch tried to turn the doorknob of the door, he would find it was locked. Same went for the window. With both means of entry and exiting unavailable to him, as he looked around, his eyes would be drawn to the drawer beside his old bed, as he would notice a book lying on top of it. Upon opening it, he would find the pages were blank... except for the very final page, which read:
Though force in strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can easily do. And on a threshold many would stand, Were not for I, a friend in hand.
What am I?
Ruby: As Ruby stared up at the ceiling of the costume store, from the corner of her eye, a glint would catch her attention. Once she went over, she would see the glint coming from a nearby shelf, and upon reaching for it and her hand enclosed around it, would see it was a metal obelisk of some sort after pulling her hand back, which begged the question... what did the obelisk fit to? She would find nothing in the costume store, which left only one option, and that was to head out of the store and into the mall itself. Upon exiting the store, the mall looked normal enough... aside from being completely empty that is. However, on the set of doors leading to what would be outside, she would instead see a relief... in the shape of the obelisk. It seemed straightforward enough.
Tobias: As Tobias looked around the office, a piece of paper lying on top of the desk that wasn't there before would catch his eye. Upon walking over to it and picking it up, he would see it was completely blank, but as this place quickly taught him, not everything is as it seems. All he needed to do was to shed some light on the situation.
Felix: As Felix opened the newspaper, he would find it was completely blank, and some change would come tumbling down onto the ground in front of him, totaling to... 50 cents. As he bent down to grab the change, he would notice writing that was not on the newspaper before, was now on there. The message was in the design of letters kidnappers sent in movies, words cut out from different stories to spell out a message, which said:
Doom lies upon the path you choose unless this path is the choice you lose do not take long on this choice you make only one train yields the road to take
Musashi: Musashi would receive no response to his words of someone playing games. Instead, as he sat down on the stairs after looking into the room he and his older brother wondered about for so long, he would notice a glint coming through the space of the door leading further into the main level of the house. Once heading to the door and opening it up, he would find not the living room, but instead an empty hallway, with a door on the opposite end. It looked simple enough.
Ira: As Ira flailed away in the pond, her hand would smack an object beside her. If she stopped panicking long enough to actually pick up the object, she would find herself holding a small glowing, orange orb, which begged the question... what was the orb for? When she climbed out of the pond, there were three tree-lined paths in front of Ira, and off to the left of the middle path, was a wooden sign, which read:
It comes only before, It comes only after, Rises only in darkness, But rises only in light. It is always the same, But is yet always different.
What am I?

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Noticing the object laying on top of the drawer beside his old bed, he'd approach it, noticing that it was a book upon closer inspection. As he opened the book, he'd notice that the pages were all but blank. Aldritch would sigh, thinking that there's no way for him to escape. He would try to break the windows, though even if it were to break, the railing installed on the windows would prevent to even let an arm through. The door however, he hasn't tried breaking through just yet, though something inside him is telling him that he won't be able to bust it open anyway.
He then decides to lay in bed to calm him down, throwing the useless book beside him. But as it was thrown, the pages would flip to the last one, revealing the words on this page which he didn't even bother looking at. It wrote;
Though force in strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can easily do. And on a threshold many would stand, Were not for I, a friend in hand.
What am I?
Just hold up a second. Aldritch gritted his teeth and clenched his fist, he disliked riddles. He swore, this is the second time he was put in an enclosed area with no way out but to solve a riddle, and it's nowhere near to being pleasant. He raised the book up in front of his face as he lay on his back. "Gentle touch..." He whispered to himself, trying to think for the answer. "A friend in hand..." He whispered even softer. "JUST WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT!" He screamed to the top of his lungs as he vigorously bounced up and down on the bed, letting out all his frustration to let him think a bit better.
After getting a bit calmer, he'd first stand up and try every single drawer in the room, if with no avail, he go back and lay on the be once more to think of the possible answers. "Threshold... a limit? Many would stand on a limit? The fuck?" He thougt a bit more.
"Threshold... Stand... Threshold..." Suddenly, a thought came up to his mind. "Threshold! The doorstep? The entry!" He said in glee. Whatever this is, it would help him stand on the... entrance. It makes sense, through force in strength the door wouldn't probably open, this thing would probably help him open it... gently "Something to open the door... A friend in hand literally!" He said out loud in excited for himself. He knew exactly what it is. It would help him stand at the door's threshold by opening it, and open it gently. It is a friend in hand, for it is something you literally hold in your hand. Hopefully he's right. With all these thoughts altogether, he made the conclusion that It is a..."Key!?"

Protége, mon Dieu les M A L H E U R E U X Ruby would look around the store before her eye caught onto a glimmer she'd not noticed before, and she headed over to it to find the obelisk. "What in the world? What's something like this doing here? Odd... Maybe I'm supposed to take it, and when everything's returned to normal I'll go back to where I belong," she thought, extending a hand to it. Ruby would pick up the obelisk and look around, disappointed that nothing changed, but she shrugged it off. Whatever the reason, she was sure she needed it for something. Right now she wasn't exactly thinking logically, but creatively. Scientifically, this couldn't be happening to her, but she didn't know much about science and she felt if she just went with it without thinking too much about it, she could progress until she found out what was going on and how to fix her situation. With her new item acquired, she would look around the shop for anything else out of place or unusual, but she found nothing. And thus, she decided to move on and out of the store, looking around for anything that seemed too strange. Well, aside from all of the uncanny features such as everyone being gone and she was somehow in the past of sorts. The girl would stop when she came across one of the exits of the store, wondering if the door would be unlocked but having a feeling that it wouldn't be. Regardless, she would try to open the door to no avail, before noticing the rift in it, where she then looked at her recently acquired item. "I bet this little guy's supposed to be the key of some sort to let me out," she said, looking at the obelisk. "But then again, what if it's dangerous outside? Nah, that's not really a problem, I can handle danger... hm... but what if this is a trap? What if this obelisk will unlock the door but it somehow awakens and evil terror? Without my sword, I'd be in big trouble..." Ah, a dangerous decision indeed. At least, it could be, but that was one of the quirks of the unknown. You never could tell if your next choice was going to be a mistake and lead to danger, or be the complete opposite. But, Ruby threw caution to the wind and used the obelisk to open the door, anyway. "If this is a trap then all I can do is stall by hanging about in the mall. There's probably no other way out, so I may as well just try to continue forward: Whether it's dangerous or not. Besides, who's to say there's even a trap in the first place? It's always good to be cautious just in case, but I'm probably overthinking it. And if not? Well, I'm completely ready to be faced with danger... or whatever." Yup. She was going to continue her given path, regardless of what lay ahead, though she just hoped there wouldn't be any trouble...

[subjects: @inthepast ] [tags: the sun; the firelord] SIGH...
The youngest Hattori just wanted whatever it what that was going ton to just be over. He was tired of playing games and he just wanted to go back to what he was doing even if it was something as simple as staring into the sky. After sitting in the same spot with no answer he'd find something unfamiliar happen out of thin air. It was as if he was playing an rpg game and the light coming from the door was telling him that he was supposed to go in their. "Well I did say that I wanted them to come to me.... I guess this is close enough." He spoke not wanting to sit in the same spot anymore.
Inside the door was a living room so like any weird villain he expected him or her to be sitting in the chair like Hugh Hefner waiting for him to come in. Instead when he arrived to the door to open it he would find that their was an empty hallways that he had never seen before. "Great, more mind games." He spoke to himself as he headed down the hallway to the door without hesitation. At this point he was beginning to get a little impatient. Hopefully it wouldn't lead him in danger.

Ira spluttered a few more times, before her fingers finally grasped the edge of the pond. Her clothes were thoroughly drenched, she thought, disgruntle at the bafflement that her current environment was allocating her, and the fact that she resembled a drowned chicken. Resembling birds wasn't ideal.
Shaking some drops off her hair, she looked at the object she snatched at while she was in the pond, evidently intrigued by the riddle on them. Scanning the riddle, she tucked the object away in her pocket, and sat down to think for a few minutes, with her eyebrows furrowed.
"This is either in reference to the sun or the moon." She muttered after a few seconds, grasping the riddle rather swiftly.
"However, the sun isn't 'always different'." She mused. "The moon is debatable 'the same' and 'the different' , but that's entirely dependent on what you are looking at. The sun isn't objectively 'different', but it does orbits around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy--"
Her words would reduced to a few incoherent mumblings before she threw her hands in the air and randomly selected one of the answers; moon. Shaking her head at the oddity of her predicament, she went to the left path, impatient by the prospect of awaiting her attack. It seemed likely that this was a trap, and sitting still might provide a better incentive for her head to be served on a plate than to actively figure out if there were any traps along the way of her possible progression.
"If this is a factor of the Steins;Gate, I'm going to shake my fist like an old man."

Upon opening the newspaper ; which much to Felix's surprise and annoyance was blank; fifty cents in loose change fell to the ground with a loud clatter. "Oh, 50 cents . . . The universe is either the greatest comedian ever, or a real asshole." Hunching over to pick up the stray bits of change, he took another look at the paper that had previously been blank. He paused, his heart hammering in his chest as he felt like he was going crazy. "Nevermind, the universe is definitely an asshole." He muttered, looking at the newly assembled collage of words on the paper, reading it out loud.
"Doom lies upon the path you choose. Unless this path is the choice you lose. Do not take long on this choice you make. Only one train yields the road to take."
He fell silent, trying to understand the riddle. Weird shit had become common occurence for him as of late, so he took it all in stride, remembering his time he had been trapped in an underground dungeon of sorts and forced to solve puzzles. After a few minutes of thought he felt his stomach roil in pure frustration, the answer eluding him. "GRAAHH, THIS IS STUPID!" He stood up quickly on his one leg, the coins clattering to the floor again as he rustled his hair.

(OOC: Hemera/Nyka Day and Tobias Ross, you both have been skipped for this round. However, there is no penalty, as your events did not have a large impact, but be advised, if you miss another round, there will be a penalty, which affects the reward you receive.) Aldritch: The moment Aldritch exclaimed the word "Key," he would notice a soft, orange glow emanating from the corner of his eye. Upon turning, he would see a small, glowing, orange orb resting on the bed closest to the door. Once he picked it up, he would hear a clicking sound coming from the door, indicating something had been unlocked. With only one way out of the orphanage, Aldritch had one option... and only one option. Ruby: The moment Ruby stepped forward towards the door to open the door using the obelisk, panels of the floor would give way, revealing spikes beneath them! What appeared to be a straightforward path, was not so straightforward at all. If she wanted to reach the door and get out of the mall, she would have to traverse with caution, because one wrong step could spell doom for her. However, if there was a way for her to set off the trap panels, it would make reaching the door much more easier for her. Felix: The very moment Felix roared out in frustration and rustled his hair, bright lights would come shining down from both subway tunnels, as two subway trains pulled into the station, one with a blue stripe, the other with a red stripe. Both trains coming to a stop, the doors would open, as if both were waiting for him to choose a train to board. But Felix should think his decision over carefully, and re-read the riddle given to him, before making a choice. Musashi: Musashi's impatience would prove to be a mistake on his part. The moment he stepped into the hallway and began traversing down it, he would set off traps, as panels of the floor on either side of the hallway would crumble away, revealing spike pits beneath them. Arrows would also start shooting out from hidden alcoves in the wall in rapid succession in the middle of the hallway, and at the very end of the hallway, just before the door, two walls from either side would shoot out to smash into each other in intervals of five seconds. If Musashi wanted to get out of the hallway, he would have to stop being so impatient and actually think over his course of action. Ira: Ira's random guess would prove to be correct. Almost on cue, the moon that hung above her in the sky, would begin to shine brightly, before a beam of moonlight would shine down and illuminate the correct path, which happened to be the left path she took. As she went down the left path, eventually she would come across a door situated in the middle of the path. With no other path to take, the door was her only means of getting out of the forested area she had been dropped in.

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | "Huh, that ain't a key." He said as the orange orb would appear. He expected a to appear, though either way, he was glad that he was right with his answer. He'd then approach the orb and stare at it for a second, confused as to what the glowing orb is, and of what use is it. Picking up the orb, he'd first tap it with his finger and inspect it closer, then, Aldritch would hear the gears of the door beside him click, signifying its unlocking. "I guess it works too." He said to himself, seeing how the orb acted as the door's key anyway.
As he heard the noise, Aldritch would try to open the door and turn its knob. If the knob were to turn and open the door, Aldritch would immediately kick the door open and exclaim, "This better be the fucking last of it!"

Protége, mon Dieu les M A L H E U R E U X "Whoa!" Ruby exclaimed, jumping back when the floor beneath her gave away. She stood still on the surface that was sturdy, before leaning over slightly to look at what lay below the fallen tile. "Spikes. Goodness. If I fall down I'll just get impaled. Well, I'd rather not be impaled again, thank you," she thought, turning her attention up again to glance at the floor tiles before her that blocked her way from getting to the door. "I should have known better. As if it'd be that easy. Well, at least I was half expecting something to happen, if I'd let my guard down completely I could have killed myself," she thought. Ruby would take in a deep breath and glance around. There really weren't any objects that she could toss onto the floor to determine if that particular tile would be safe or not, and so she figured she would have to do it the more dangerous way. But it wasn't so bad. Now that she knew at least the floor she was on now was safe, and that the floor ahead wasn't, she knew she'd be fine. And so, Ruby braved another step. She would keep one foot on the safe floor and step out to one of the uncertain ones, only for her to shift her weight and find it crumbling beneath her. Quickly, so as to not fall below, Ruby would step back again, one of her legs never having left the safe tile, anyway. And so, she would try again, going to a different tile this time and placing enough weight on it with one foot to see if it would be safe enough or not. After enough pushing, she discovered it safe, and stepped onto it completely. "This is so dangerous," she thought, testing another nearby tile while remaining safe on the other. "But kind of fun. I won't deny it. What fun is life if your life isn't constantly at stake? Just kidding." She deemed it safe and took another step. It was a slow process, but she didn't really know any other way, and it was better to be safe than sorry. She knew that sometimes patience was key, and not rushing into things was the best handle on situations. It was one of the reasons why she usually let other people attack her first, rather than giving the first blow. It was also one of the reasons she tried to avoid battle so much and would rather flee, since she didn't want to aggressively jump into every fight possible... well, wisdom was one key to running from battle, the other key factor was that she didn't like to get hurt and would rather run away, regardless. But hey, at least she knew how to fight pretty damn well when she thought it necessary. With any luck, Ruby would slowly make her way to the door again. Several tiles had given beneath her tests, but she always kept her balance on the foot that was standing on a safe spot. It took less time than she thought, and she would make her way to the door before trying to use the obelisk to, with hope and luck, open it. By now she was just hoping that spikes weren't going to shoot up at her when she tried opening it. She'd have to act really quick, lest she be skewered... Tous les misérable sont enfants de D I E U? Hemera had noticed the odd plaque next to the doors. She knelt down and looked at the strange writing. For several minutes, she attempted to decipher the message, but to no avail. It was't readable. She stood again and stared at the three doors. What could it all mean? Why was she brought here? Was it some kind of test? If so, what sort of test was it? The three doors stood menacingly as she stared forward. "Nyka?" she called. Here there wasn't anyone else. She was free to speak openly without fear of being ostracized by others. For a few moments, she waited for a reply. Only silence greeted her. Nyka being quiet? She must be enjoying this. Hemera let out a huff of breath and bent back down to look at the plaque again. As she stared, she saw that there was a few symbols that resembled the English alphabet. What if it was backwards? She would need a mirror if that was the case....or..... She scrambled to her desk and began to search for either a piece of paper and pencil or a mirror. The mirror would be easiest, of course. But the pencil and paper could be used to stencil the symbols, then when the paper was turned around, the areas where the indentations were, she could lightly shade over it to read it.... Her eyes glanced up to the candle on the desk. She could use the candle to illuminate the message on the paper from behind it! She had two options now. Hopefully, she found one of the two soon. She loved her room, but the memories were creeping in and she didn't want to deal with the emotional meltdown it brought.

As Felix rustled his hair, he felt a sudden rumbling as two trains suddenly came roaring down the tunnel, screeching to a stop. The sudden pitch back station was washed in the bright headlights of the trains. The doors opened simultaneously as if to welcome him inside, as the weirdness factor being bumped up by another notch. He glanced to either train, compelled to just hop on one of them and go. But the cryptic riddle in the newspaper kept coming to mind.
"Doom lies upon the path I choose." He said, echoing the riddle. Sighing he shrugged, talking to himself. "Well I guess the riddle makes a bit more sense. But still . . . What's the flippin' answer!" Felix groaned as he sat back down heavily on the bench, deep in his thoughts. He sat there for what felt like hours in silence, but was actually only a few seconds, when he caught sight of the coins that had scattered across the floor. Picking one up, a theory began to race through his mind. "If doom lies on the path I choose . . . I can't choose a train can I? But what if -- what if, I'm not the one who makes the choice?" His question aimed at the empty air of the tunnel.
But it was fine, he didn't need anyone to respond, he had his answer. Flipping one of the coins, the light dancing off of it's surface as it spun back down from the air and into his hand he slapped another hand on top of it. "Red for heads, Blue for tails, adventure awaits, so lets set sail!" It was an old rhyme he did when he couldn't come to a decision on something, instead letting lady luck and probability take the wheel. He uncovered his hand, as the tails side faced him.

THEY WANT MY HEAD NOT MY MIND.
❝ IRA | Slightly freaked by the moon's oddness, Ira was stunned into utter silence while she faced the possibility of having herself beaten into pieces and thrown into a body bag into the sea. The Romans did that, but quite frankly, she wasn't ready to find herself enduring the punishments of the olden ones; ranging from being stuck in a drowning body bag with a dog, monkey and snake, or laying on the altar and having her heart ripped out for the opening of a new temple; as the Aztecs did.
Shaking her head such that her drenched hair would fling about drops of water, she plucked her limp shirt nervously before heading towards the door, keeping her bolt equipped for swift usage if needed.
Taking a deep breath, she quietly placed her hand on the door handle, flinching if it creaked and ever so carefully opened the door.

Looking at the blank piece of paper, Tobias turned it over as he stood there thinking. The place was vacant of people and now a piece of blank paper had shown up. Either he was less attentive than he thought or something unusual was happening. Somethings were not as they seemed and this was one instance that held true to that statement. Why was this happening and what could have transported him to here? Frustration started to build as he stood there with the paper.
Think. An empty room and a blank piece of paper. Emptiness? Is that what I am supposed to understand here? Maybe blank slates like this paper? Wait..... Maybe it isn't blank. It is just not visible to the naked eye.
Pulling out his lighter, Tobias held it a bit under the paper as he ignited it and waited for the paper to heat up. There may be something written that heat would reveal. He could be wrong, but this was but the first step in figuring out what was on this paper.
