welcome
Welcome delinquents to PHS #552. A few reminders, no rough housing, no running in the hallways, no cheating, and no talking back to your teachers. Beyond that, enjoy yourselves. After all these are the years you’ll look back on, and remember, you mother fuckers peaked too early.

A brand new group is on the making, The Apostles, a Pillar-like group led by none other than our brand new headmaster, Gregoire Girard. A student body that would lead students and enforce the law on this little school of ours. Little is still known about this student body, but who knows? It might just be what the school needs.

A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

[OoC: As the title says, this is an open event. It will be moderately plot-important. All players who join receive +1 Exp. Players may post as frequently as they wish until Macht Stärke begins his School Captain speech. At that point, it becomes one post per round.] For a couple of weeks, the students of PHS #552 were given free time to acclimate to their new environment, be it the island itself or San Francisco right next door. Housing was handed out and positions were all sorted, teachers were setting up their lesson plans and the facility was doing all it could to make the kids feel welcomed. All students' contact info would be logged, and through this info, they would all receive a message one way or another - text, call, email, or announcement over the PA system should they be on campus - that an assembly was being called by the new Headmaster, who wished to meet and introduce himself to his new student body. All students - high school and university alike - would be lead into a large auditorium with signs showing the way. Inside, they would find a two-tiered house with comfortable, padded chairs for all students, and even a section reserved specifically for the handicapped where all possible accommodations would be met. Up on the stage would be a podium in front of a large red curtain, with four chairs designated for the Pillars behind it. The Pillars would all have received special instruction to wait up on the stage, and the School Captain was asked to give a speech to start things off. Much unlike the last assembly the students were called to, there were no armed guards keeping them in line, only teachers who kindly showed them to their seats. Markus himself was yet to be seen, as he was running late - Macht's speech was to buy him some time, as well as address all things he felt it fit to address.

Orion had slipped in early, but was not one of the first; while he wanted to observe people coming in, he didn't want to be noticed for standing out, more than his general appearance did anyway. He took a position near the front of the second tier, leaning on the railing that was there to keep people (hopefully) from falling over. He sat on the edge of his seat to do so, but this wasn't out of any actual desire to pay attention (well, not entirely):
It was so the two 3ft. long pipes he had holstered between his back and his overly long cloak attached to his jacket would be less uncomfortable where he sat. These two pipes were painted a matte black, to prevent them from shining and to be less noticeable, and on one end of each was a separate halves of a connector that could be screwed together, giving Orion a pole-arm in a pinch. He was not looking for a fight, and had no intention of disrupting the assembly. However, someone inevitably would, and he would be prepared if he was forced to defend himself.
It was highly unlikely, of course. The presence of all the pillars, who were each considered some of the strongest of the student body, the teachers, who kept the student populace mostly in check via physical force, and the headmaster himself, who was widely considered the most powerful member of the faculty, should be more than enough to keep even the most rambunctious of students in check.
Highly unlikely. Considered. Should be. Orion was prepared if all of these uncertain assurances fell flat.
Should be interesting, though.

Led into the auditorium after receiving a text message on his cell phone, informing him that an assembly was being called by the new Headmaster, as the Third Pillar, Kazuya would receive a special instruction to wait up on the stage, which he would do so. Moving past the crowds of students as they were shown to their seats by the teachers, once he reached the stage, he would walk up the stairs and walking across the stage, would take a seat at the far right chair. He figured since he was the Third Pillar, who was the lowest ranked of all the Pillars, he would take the farthest seat. Casually folding his arms across his chest, one leg crossed over the other, he would lean back and settle down in his seat. His katana currently in Eun-Han's possession, which was back at the bar, it was just as well, since just like Public High School #552 back in New York City, weapons weren't allowed on campus. Besides, Kazuya highly doubted he would need his katana.
If a worse came to worse and a fight broke out, he was certain he and the other Pillars were more than capable of quelling it before things got out of hand. He hoped nothing would happen, and a school assembly he attended would go smoothly, for once, but if he had to resort to brute force to keep the students in check, then he would.

Macht would be the first one to arrive in the auditorium, standing up at the podium on the stage. He'd been meaning to call an assembly of his own, just as soon as things kicked off, so it only worked out better now that he was aware the Headmaster himself wanted him to deliver a speech. He had nothing written, just a general outline of what he wanted to say. Everything, he felt, needed to come from the heart. Should he have rehearsed for this? Probably, but he was decent enough at public speaking that he wasn't too worried about it. Besides, anyone who knew Macht knew he did more talking with his fists than with his lips.
The Behemoth watched as student after student would make their way in. Right now, entrance was slow, but that's what he expected. Last time they had an assembly, their First Pillar was "murdered" in front of their very eyes. He expected people to be uncomfortable, unruly, insubordinate, and he would quell that if it came to it... but he wanted to take 552 in a new direction. Hopefully, they'd join him in that endeavor.
"Glad to see you made it out of there in one piece, Hikari," Macht spoke to his Third Pillar as the man made his way onto the podium. Now to wait on Ira and Lexington, the latter of which he hadn't seen since the execution.

Anthony's eyes widened as he entered the auditorium, things weren't like this back in Brazil, the seat was so comfortable it felt like a cloud, he could get used to this. There were a few people here and there, chatting, gossiping, sleeping, doing illicit things and the like. Ignoring everything, he tried to focus on how he make a name for himself. He then thought about what he heard sooner. 'The School Captain will be there!' Some random student said.
The School Captain. Leader of the Pillars and strongest student within the school. Could he even dream of acquiring such title? To be the strongest, the most feared and most respected in the entire school. Could he do it? Most likely not, but he would try either way. He soon returned to reality, as more and more students took their seats. Soon he would meet the school captain, and oh boy, was he anxious for that. The blacked haired boy licked his lips, dreaming of his rise to power.

The last time Zoe came to an assembly, she sat up on the stage with the other pillars. The students had been herded into lines by armed guards, not teachers trying not to get hit by the students. The atmosphere here was tense, but not because of any apparent danger. No, it was tense due to the lack of it. The majority of the student body had grown to expect danger around every corner. The peaceful appearance of the assembly felt like the quiet before a storm. Everyone was uncomfortable and expecting something to happen- Zoe included.[break][break]
After all, she had died during the last assembly. [break][break]
Half a year ago Zoe would have quietly taken her seat in the back of the auditorium and tried not to catch anyone's attention. She would have kept her head down in an attempt to get involved in anything. The fact that the School Captain probably wanted to kill her would have caused her to not even attend the assembly. She would have just tried to avoid the trouble of meeting him today. Instead, the girl moved to sit in the front row- as close to the middle as possible. [break][break]
The hollow feeling of having been a puppet still resonated through her mind. The fog that had covered her for two months was still fresh in her mind. The bitter taste of control was stuck on the tip of her tongue. However, the time in the fog had made her realize certain truths in the world around her. The girl's eyes had been opened by the experience and the awful things she did. So, there she sat, in the front row as close to directly in front of Macht as she could get. [break][break] Her hair had been trimmed since Macht and her last met- and unlike last time, Zoe wasn't covered in the blood of his former best friend. The two of them had never been that close to begin with... Maybe he wouldn't notice her too quickly- especially in such a large crowd. If he did, well, Zoe was curious as to what he'd do to a monster such as herself.[break][break]

❝ | We never got that far This helps me to think all through the night Bright lights that won't kill me now or tell me how Just you and I your starless eyes remain
| ❞ |
Vivi sat fairly close to the stage, but still kept a fair amount of distance. The middle of the third row seemed good to her. Of course, she was still apprehensive because of the last assembly, and she figured plenty of other students were as well. She reached out and drummed her fingers against the back of the empty seat in front of her, and breathed slowly in an effort to calm her nerves.
It didn't help much. There was a slight crease between Vivi's brows as she watched the stage, waiting to see the new head master. He probably wouldn't be like Luca. If they were replacing him, the new guy had to be different. Either he'd be better or bad in a different way. Then again, good and bad was pretty relative.
It became even harder to calm herself when she saw Macht wander on to the stage, and her thoughts wandered to Zoe. The girl had been a good friend to Vivi. Back when she knew very few other girls around school, being around her was kind of comforting. And then she died in an assembly just like this one... or seemed to. Part of her still couldn't believe that she was the one who killed Knuckles. The Zoe she remembered was gentle, thoughtful and smart.
Vivi sighed. It felt like she'd faded a bit since the last assembly. Last time, she'd been among the Pillars and among some of the key people fighting for the safety of the school. But ever since her long disappearance and then arrival back at the school, Vivi felt like just another face in the crowd.
Maybe it was better that way?

Post by Jack Griffin on Mar 14, 2016 22:14:27 GMT -5
Jack had only spent a little time at this new school, but he was already experiencing a distinct sense of deja vu.
For one thing, it was filled with superpowered violent delinquents, just like his old school. He was also new, just like back then. And lo and behold, not a few days in, along came the big auditorium gathering and "meet the Pillars" speech, just like the first time. Of course, that time, the school had been invaded by a vicious gang of thugs and the assembly had turned into a massive battle in which Jack had singlehandedly taken down four criminals in a row, and saved two of his weak and adorable classmates from being brutally beaten. One of his finer moments.
Still, good memories aside, a gangster invasion wasn't really a pleasant way to start off the school year, and Jack was on edge. His eyes darted around the open space, trying to pick out faces, any sign of weaponry, anyone who might suddenly burst from the crowd and turn the whole event into a storm of mayhem. How many exits were there? How fast could the pillars respond to a threat? How fast could Jack respond-
He took a deep breath. Geez. For what was essentially meant to be a boring assembly, he was taking this way too seriously. Just because one such gathering had turned into a fight for his life, didn't mean they all would, right?
Riiiight.
For now, he resolved to be on his guard. In the meantime, it was probably worth checking out the Pillars and hearing what they had to say, if only so he could figure out which one of them he wanted to beat first. He made his way to a seat, plopping himself down next to some guy he'd never met before, who was wearing what looked like a cloak over his jacket, like some kind of wannabe superhero. Jack hadn't been paying attention to this at first, having only sat down there because of the lack of cute girls to sit near, but the odd choice of clothing caught his eye. How would he look in one of those? He took a moment to picture it. Utterly majestic... and then everyone else would say he looked like a dork. Jack sighed quietly to himself. PTSD from gang attacks at assemblies, inability to look good in a cape, such were the little miseries of life.
Things seemed to be taking a while to get started, so he leaned a little towards Orion, casually starting up a conversation. "Hey, if you don't mind me asking... which of the Pillars looks the most badass to you?"

Xaier had made his way in just in time to see Macht take the podium. He would remain standing close by, near the back side of the auditorium. At this point in time, Xaier was unsure of who actually knew he had been an Apostle. He really didn't feel like getting that kind of attention right now.
Leaning back against the wall, he would rest his head and lift a hand to remove his sun-glasses, hanging then on the collar of his shirt, his right foot flat against the wall as well. He didn't feel like getting too comfortable. Silently, the silver haired boy would wait for the Macht to speak.

This assembly was silently walking the razor's edge between peace and bedlam, and Kevin was none the wiser.
Around the time when the calls were made to convene in the auditorium, Kevin was outside with a portable stereo, practicing dance moves in the open. He was zone until his music was temporarily muted by his phone's notification tone (since it's the year 20XX and everyone either wirelessly pairs or auxilary plugs everything). Kevin stopped in the middle of his footwork, glancing over at the micro-sized boombox as his music eventually turned back on; he had half a mind to not even check the message, but decided to go ahead and see. Hazel eyes scanned over the invitation, raising an eyebrow until he looked up. Kevin realized there were other students who were around, all in their personal devices and likely reading the same thing. He'd pack up his belongings and make his way to the assembly.
The oversized freshman filed into the auditorium along with a handful of others, certainly not the first but noticing that he was fortunate enough to beat most of the others. Kevin initially scanned for which part of the back rows he wanted to hide in...and then a funny thing happened. One could say it was morbid curiosity, another could call it just a diversion from normal habits and routines. No matter what it was, Kevin would find a seat right up front. He gave it some thought as he casually strolled down the aisle with his hands in the pockets of a maroon pair of joggers. He was new to the school. Furthermore, Kevin was entering on the heels of events that were likely traumatic for some and horrifying for others...Didn't I hear some kids died? he thought. He was in a room with not just students, but survivors. Some part of him wanted to see up close how the leadership of the school would respond to that. What could you tell these guys to set them straight and reassure them? They were confined like rabid dogs in a kennel...in his mind, he could imagine some lost friends. Others may have seen violence they weren't accustomed to. They all had this time where things were pleasant and their biggest worry consisted of getting lodt on the island. Once that honeymoon phase wore off, though...was a relocation the first sign of change, or was it just a temporary fix before things went back to shit, with him in the midst of it?
Kevin figured if he was going to be in the front row when shit hit the fan, he may as well do the same here. He was about to find a seat right in the middle...when a girl appeared. Pink-headed and with a purpose, she took the seat right next to the one Kevin was ready to sit down in. Now, this shouldn't have been a big deal by any means. With Kevin, however...if Zoe paid him any attention, she'd see Kevin pause right in the middle of his descent into the chair before hesitantly rest his butt right next to her, turning a new shade of red with every second. He chanced one look in Zoe's direction, meekly nodded at her and immediately focused on the stage like his life depended on it. First impressions are everything!

Macht watched every student enter, making a note of each he knew and all those he did not recognized as they made their way to their seats. Everything he could note, from the way the held themselves, how they walked, what they wore, to where and by who they chose to sit. Because he kept his single eye trained on the entrance, he would inevitably, of course, notice none other than Zoe Garcia make her way into the building, and anger flared up inside of him. Immediately, he felt the urge to lunge forward from the stage, grab her neck, shatter it, and beat on her body until it was nothing but a red paste beneath him.
But he didn't.
Instead, Macht's grip on the podium tightened as he grit his teeth, evidently tense, and it audibly cracked beneath his force. Splinters would catch themselves in his flesh hand, while the wood in his prosthetic was shattered completely, leaving the corners of the podium facing the audience jagged and deformed. He stepped back after a time, opting to pull his gaze away from the girl, dust and wood falling from his hands as he turned and faced the curtain.
"I'll be back out in a couple minutes," he would speak to Kazuya, before parting the curtain and walking onto the main part of the stage where he would remain hidden from the rest of the student body. Back here, where no one could see him, he placed his back up to a wall and slid down until he was sitting on the floor. A hand ran through his hair, and the image of his brother's decapitated head hitting the dome in front of him kept replaying over and over and over again.

"Likewise, Starke. It just wouldn't be a school without you around."
His eyes trained on the entrance to the auditorium, as student after student poured in, each and every one of them visible tense and uncertain, the moment a familiar face walked in, Kazuya's eyes would visibly widen slowly, before gazing over to Macht, the School Captain standing at the podium. The sound of splintering wood reaching his ears, even over the rabble of the crowd of students as they slowly filled the seats up, his gaze would notice the jagged and splintered corners of the podium caused by Macht's grip. It was clear the School Captain had been fighting hard not to just rush at Zoe and beat the living daylights out of her.
"... Alright."
Glancing over at him after Macht had turned away from crowd of students... and Zoe, noticing the dust and wood that fell from his hands, he would watch him part the curtain and disappear behind it from the corner of his eye, before shifting his gaze forward, back out into the crowd. His eyes trained on Zoe, the image of Knuckles' decapitated head landing against the glass dome and sliding down in a streak of blood replaying in his mind over and over again, his knuckles would visibly whiten as his fists tightened up, but his face would remain nonplussed, giving no further indication of the internal strife happening.
He just hoped Lexington and Ira showed up soon.

Orion's gaze would drift towards the stage, not noticing anything of worry of the incoming students. And he stared, shocked, at the lone man there. The lone man who held a remarkable resemblance to one of the few people Orion had respect for, Takehiro Amakusa, his old teacher and the man who inducted him into Valor the first time. Aside from the red hair and cyborg limbs, he was practically Tak's clone. Orion ignored the limbs; he'd seen weirder. Whispers around him made note that he was the school captain, Macht, suggesting he was extremely powerful. Which wasn't surprising: Orion had once seen Takehiro throw a tank at someone. Anyone with such a close resemblance they were more than likely family to the man was going to be impossibly powerful. Then another figure walked on the stage.
Orion blinked. Blinked again. Rubbed his eyes and looked up. Nope, his vision wasn't going nutso on him. He knew that person as well: Kazuya Hikari, the Flame Dragon. Or at least, that's who he was in Orion's memories. Here he was apparently a Pillar... And more than likely powerful enough to match up to a Dragon here regardless. Great. Even more people that Orion shouldn't know... And actually doesn't, but thinks he does and it really gets to him.
And here I was hoping for some quiet and less overall insanity for my life. Yeah, that was going to happen.
Orion then found himself with a neighbor who asked him which of the pillars he thought was most badass. Before Orion could reply, however, the school captain, seeming incredibly angry, shattered the top of the podium with his grip then walked off stage.
"Probably the one with the cyborg arms that happens to be stronger than most everyone in the damn building, yeah?"

Felix stood outside the Auditorium doors, his legs shaking. Last time he'd been at an assembly Zoe had died, people got beat up, and he'd gotten his shit completely rocked. But despite his nerves, Felix felt he had a reputation to uphold, Student Dean be damned he was going to make a statement even if it killed him (which it probably would). "C'mon Felix it won't turn out like last time. No one's gonna get their neck snapped. You aren't gonna get thrown into a hole in the ceiling. It's just an assembly."
One of the teachers directing the students overheard his small pep talk to himself and froze, fixing Felix with a mixed stare of equal parts confusion and apprehension. Letting out a shaky breath he waded into the auditorium with the rest of the crowd. As he made his way down the runway, people began pulling away from him, staring at him like he was insane (which he most likely was). Felix toted behind him a red wagon, carting around a bluetooth speaker as well as a small cooler filled with drinks. With a press of a button his speaker began blasting music. A familiar crispy T-Shirt on his chest, as he smirked, shooting a glance at the people on his left and right. To everyone else he seemed to be looking down at them, but the shutter shades did a good job of hiding the obvious tension in his eyes. He was on the lookout for any guards that might give him a hard time. He slowly made his way to the front, his song fading away as it finished while still looking at everyone around him. Because of his tense movements he'd almost missed her, almost. A girl sitting in the front row, near the middle of the aisle caught his attention. Something about her eyes that struck him as familiar made him stop and stare at her. He stood there frozen as another song started to play, his mind racing. Her hair was different, but the face was exactly the same. "Zoe?" The moment the words left his mouth he felt stupid, she had died hadn't she? The last he'd seen of her Vivi had ran away with her body, and that was about it. Vivi was strong but she was no necromancer, at least not that Felix knew. He swallowed letting out a slow breath and closing his eyes. I'm acting crazy. They just look really similar that's it.Opening his eyes he smiled ruefully. "Sorry-- uh, you. You just reminded me of someone. Sorry for bothering you." He stood there another moment before realizing what music was currently playing and quickly switched it. He made his way past the girl, grabbing his own seat at the far right, in the corner of the front as he waited.

| ❝SHE LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE SANTA - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILL SPY ON FOR 365 DAYS OF A YEAR ❞
Ira wandered about. She was tiny, and with her normal shade of hair, she was easily dismissed as another mundane student receiving substandard education in the school. She chewed on her reddened lips as she briefly considered the amount of people in the auditorium. The massive amount of people inside was enough to make her fairly close to hurling her guts out, before screaming incoherently on the top of her lungs. The idea that she had to enter the place and take her place formally as the first pillar made her absolutely nauseated.
She was a fairly small girl, and everyone towered over her in almost absurdly. Her pale violet eyes glinted with a irritation as she peeked into the auditorium, and felt her insides churned once more. She wasn't ready to be acknowledged, scrutinized, respected, even, by the crowd. Hell, she wasn't even sure if she was ready to be paraded about as one of the strong. Ira didn't want the responsibility, or have people like Jack or Orion watch her with curious eyes. She didn't look like a pillar; much less the first pillar, especially with her disheveled hair and flushed cheeks. She looked like someone that Santa will spy on for 365 days of a year. For science.
Waving at Macht when she caught sight of him outside the auditorium, she reached out to grip at his arm tightly. It wasn't a gesture of affection--it was a warning. They didn't have time for him to be walking about, and despite her curiosity at what might be making him as tensed as he was, she didn't want to ask. She found comforting another individual highly discomfiting, and she didn't want to endure that experience.
Clearing her throat, she pushed open the doors of the auditorium formally, as she walked in. The doors creaked loudly before her as she flinched at the sound. Her eyes remained on the floor; unwilling to catch the eye of anyone else as she slowly made her way through the waves of students that swelled in size. She released Macht's arm before she walked in. Ira minded if he entered the auditorium with her; she knew perfectly well that if he didn't, the expectations of leadership would fall on her head.
Wading through the students once more, she kept her eyes on the floor, as some of them were courteous enough to shift out of her way. It might be her paranoia, but she felt the looks of disbelief searing right into her back as she made her way up the stage in front of them all. Sitting on the seat of the First Pillar, she adopted a look of aloof coldness as she looked directly at the crowd for people she might know-- Felix, Jude, Luna, or even Leon, with his beehive blonde hair.
"Let's just get this over and done with." She muttered to Kazuya and Macht, assuming if the latter followed.
