A lunch box is seen last Friday, around 12:37:08pm with an encouraging note packed inside. This appalling display that utterly lacked manliness has left many students stunned and outrage, as some decided, after a long while, to speak out against it.

Xaier remained standing, leaning back against the far auditorium wall. Those emerald hues hidden behind his sunglasses had remained trained upon the stage where Macht had spoken, before long the new headmaster took lead. Xaier actually kind of like the way he carried himself and seemed to be giving the students a chance to ease their minds.
Xaier hadn't ever been as quick to judge and condemn like many others had. He had even tried to see Luca's point of view while in the District. So far, he felt good about this. He himself didn't feel like a monster and he didn't want to be handled like one either, especially if he wasn't involved- Like the gang situation.
Releasing a small sigh, Xaier would step forward and quietly approach the back side of the seating area, lifting his right hand up a little in attempt to show he had a question. At which point, he would speak out to the headmaster.
"And what of gang violence? Many of us have ties to gangs, but not all of us. What if trouble starts here? Are we all going to suffer because a gang decides they want to cause problems?" The ivory haired boy wasn't singling anyone out. But He felt for sure that at least a few of the factions likely made the trip with them to San Francisco. And the last thing he wanted to do was get caught in the middle of that shitstorm, or have the blame placed on 552 as a whole.

Post by Kazuya Hikari on Mar 16, 2016 16:13:55 GMT -5
Glancing up as Ira and Macht joined him on stage, Kazuya would give Ira a slight nod of his head, before returning his gaze back over to Zoe, paying little attention to Felix as the kid did a repeat of his last entrance into the auditorium, which involved blasting music from a boombox, only to be politely asked to turn the music off when the assembly started. At least the reaction wasn't the same. As Macht took his position back at the podium and began his speech soon after, Kazuya would listen, though the words were ones he heard before many times. He would however, take advantage of the higher learning opportunity given to him and go to university, though he would wince slightly as another brief but blurry memory flashed through his mind. It felt like... he had already done this before. Graduated from high school and attended university, though he could not figure out why. The memory disappearing as quickly as it appeared, Macht would then introduce the Headmaster, though Kazuya was unable to make out his facial features due to the sunlight shining behind him.
As the man made his way towards the stage, stopping to shake hands with and speak with every teacher he passed, leaving Macht to just stand awkwardly at the podium. After several minutes, the man reached the stage, and the moment Kazuya caught a glimpse of his face, another series of blurry memories began rushing through his head, the man appearing familiar to Kazuya for some reason. He could barely make them out, but from what he could piece together, there was something about him being a Pillar, and another man, a very tall man, speaking to him. Something about a Student Dean... And then it hit him. Why the Headmaster felt familiar to Kazuya. He was the man in his memory. But why were all these memories of a life that was clearly his past, surfacing now? The Headmaster's speech would register in Kazuya's mind, though he would ponder on it later. Right now, he wanted to know where and why all these memories were coming from.
His head clearing up long enough for him to notice as Lex slipped into the sit between him and Ira after the kid that tried to take Shugo down burst through the auditorium doors and began yelling loudly as he rushed towards the stage, Kazuya would just internally facepalm as the Headmaster began to answer questions asked by some of the students, including his former leader of Hyperion, Valo. His head lifting up as Dr. Eckhardt mentioned the name Public High School #774, which sent another wave of familiarity through Kazuya's mind, was that the school he briefly recalled being a Pillar at? But how? The last school he remembered transferring from was Public High School #42... Could it be, he was actually older than he thought he was? So many questions, but no answers. While Dr. Eckhardt continued to be asked questions, Kazuya would briefly glance over at Lexington, giving the Second Pillar a light tap on the arm with the back of his hand, a slight smile on his face.
"Of course Lex. I'll have your back this time, no matter what."
But first... I want to know why all these memories from what is clearly my past, are suddenly coming back now...

❝ | We never got that far This helps me to think all through the night Bright lights that won't kill me now or tell me how Just you and I your starless eyes remain
| ❞ |
Vivi watched the wood crumble under the school captain’s grasp. He seemed upset about something, and it could be a number of things. He had a lot of crap going on in his life... At the end of his speech, he introduced the new head master—this was it. It was time to see the new direction this school could go.
~ ~ ~
After some time passed, Vivi eased back into her chair. The head master was turning out to seem a lot cooler than she expected—practically the exact opposite of the last one in every way. She was aware there were such things as people who put on an act to gain trust, but this guy was convincing.
He seemed to have a genuine care for the student body and a gentle, friendly nature. The violet haired girl crossed her legs and leaned back in her seat as she listened to people ask questions and receive answers. Minutes ticked by, and eventually her own question perked up in her mind.
Standing up and raising her hand a ways to get his attention, Vivi would take a breath and speak.
“You said there would be no regulators or enforcers,” she began, “And that people like the Pillars and those in the faculty wont be used to take away our rights. Does that mean there won’t be corporal punishment anymore? I’m really glad to see your faith and us and the opportunity for this school to change for the better, but a lot of us are still…”
Hopefully she could say this without pissing too many people off.
“Well, some of us are still prone to violence. Do you have new methods for reforming the students or do you believe we’ll change on our own?”
Vivi did her best to speak in an amiable tone, worried she might give off the wrong vibe. She wasn't trying to challenge the guy or anything, she was just legit concerned about this little detail.

Post by Markus Eckhardt on Mar 17, 2016 21:47:21 GMT -5
Markus glanced up toward the white-haired boy and was immediately curious. The boy had a file on him that was highlighted for his role as an Apostle, a lot of the information within attempting to make him out to be one of the bad guys. Though, all information regarding the decisions he made and why he made them, made the boy someone Markus would keep his eye on throughout his time at the school.
"Gang violence is inevitable, I'm afraid, Mr. McCaine," Markus spoke solemnly, leaning forward on the podium. "That said, the actions of one do not lay on the shoulders of the many. If students attempt to turn the environment into another like New York City, they will find their attempts lacking. We will not utilize Apostle-grade disciplinary techniques, but the safety of our students comes first and foremost. Should their lives be threatened in any way, those responsible - and only them - will face punishment. The rest of you will remain free of it."
He smiled, hoping his words assuaged whatever fears the boy might have. After the horrors of the District and his role in all of it, Markus only assumed he had more worries than he could count. But, he would not focus too long on the boy - other questions had been asked.
"Corporal punishment is still, unfortunately, legal within our country, and this facility would not have authorization to be built with its banning on our premises. However, its use will be heavily discouraged: All figures of authority will be instructed to use their words first, and their fists last. We have new methods of disciplinary action, all of which are non-violent. To curb any unnecessary use of corporal punishment, we will also be instating a system where its wrongful use will result in the figure who utilized it to be met with equal punishment."

Leon had been sitting quietly reflecting on everything. He liked what he heard, but this damn headache... It was so distracting, he could only close his eyes and rub his forehead and right temple to try and curb it's stabbing, throbbing pain.
~Kill them....~
Well that was unpleasant... It was definitely his own thought, and he really, REALLY, REALLY[/i] wanted to do it... However from what he could hear the questions were answered to his liking, so the ready LG had no order to take out this headmaster and his faculty. Leon would simply get up, and leave.

Zoe's ears caught the crackling of the podium as Macht's grip tightened around it. The girl remained stoic as he shifted his eyes from her direction and he turned. So he did notice her. Zoe's long lashes covered her gaze as she closed them and took in a deep breath. Her hands were placed over each other gently on her lap. Everything looked lady like until someone noticed that her hands were gripping each other so tightly that her knuckles turned white. A small drip of blood could even be seen dripping onto her lap as her nails pierced the skin. [break][break]
Still, the girl's face betrayed no emotion as she sat there. When Felix called her name, she turned to eye him silently. Then, she smiled softly and nodded before turning back to the front. Her smile dropped almost instantly. He seemed to think she was someone else. Alright- it didn't bother Zoe. He'd find out soon enough. That was especially true with that she was planning. Her attention turned to Ira as she waddled onto the stage and took the seat Zoe herself once sat on. Hopefully, Ira would be able to go through the assembly without the... ah experience she herself had at the last one. [break][break]
Taking a deep breath, Zoe leaned back in her chair. She was going to do something during the assembly. Part of her didn't want to do it, but she had to. Her eyes would close to try and calm herself for a moment, but when she opened them, a purple rose was in her face. Zoe would take it and blind softly. Her face didn't look confused- more like annoyed. Of course, that may have just been her default face at the time. Zoe was indeed confused by the action, but she didn't display it properly. Confusion meant she didn't know what was going on- and that was poor planning. So, she spoke softly as the boy left. ”Oh, thank you...” [break][break]
Then Macht's speech began, and Zoe's blood ran cold. [break][break]
The girl's eyes locked onto the School Captain's in dead silence as he spoke. Everything he was saying was right. Zoe almost considered not doing what she had came here to do... However, as he looked to her and spoke of those who wronged them standing beside them, the girl's gaze softened. For the first time during the whole assembly, her mask broke for a brief moment. Her brows furrowed as she bit down on her lower lip. Those directly in front of her would see the appearance of a distraught young girl as her eyes softened. Her lower lip trembled, and her shoulders trembled. [break][break]
Looking down, Zoe's face shifted to one of brief panic. Why was there blood all over her hands? The girl wiped at it subtly and in silence as the speeches went on around her. She barely heard the new Dean spoke of how the school would work. His words were distantly echoing in the background noise of her mind as she focused on the blood on her hands. Those watching would just notice her scratching at her hands- no blood what so ever except from where her hands had gripped tightly earlier. [break][break] Eventually, Zoe's attention was returned to the assembly when Markus spoke once more- answering the questions asked. The girl looked down to her hands in silence once more. Her face had returned to the neutral expression from before, but there was a noticeable frown on her face along with a brief flash of worry. There wasn't any blood on her hands. [break][break] Taking a deep breath, Zoe returned her attention to the assembly in silence as the dean spoke. Her eyes shifted to watch Leon walk out of the assembly. As the door closed behind him, she stood and coughed into her hand that was noticeably red from the scratching. Her piercing eyes locked onto Macht for a silence before speaking. [break][break] ”Excuse me. I understand that this may be an inappropriate time to do this, but you clearly have no qualms with the pillar system and how it works.” Her eyes shifted from Macht to the rest of the pillars sitting behind the new Dean. ”You already know all about me Mister Eckhardt- so I won't bother to introduce myself,” she spoke bluntly as her gaze still hovered over Macht. There was no way Zoe wasn't already on this man's radar. He probably had gotten her file before she even stepped on that plane along with the rest of the pillars, Apostles and key troublemakers. So, she spoke brisk and quickly.[break][break] ”Macht, I'm challenging you for your position of School Captain. I'll text you the location later. No, you don't need to give me your number.”

Kazuya tapped Lexington and it quickly got the giant's attention. The fellow Pillar was letting Lex know that he was down to fight alongside him if things got hairy, which was pretty sweet considering Lexington was very prone to running into fights. "Aww hell yeah Kaz, much appreciated--" Lexington's sentence was cut off when the female in the front row of the auditorium announced that she was going to challenge Macht for his School Captain title. This of course captured Lexington's attention because usually he was the one being challenged for his title. As such, he absolutely needed to get a better look at the challenger so that he could hedge his bet, obviously Lexington's money was on Macht, but you never know what could happen.
So Lexington hopped up from his chair and walked over to the podium where the Headmaster was standing, Lexington stood to the left of the HC. "Who said that!." The pillar said as he looked across the crowd trying to find who made the announcement, a couple students pointed to Zoe who was directly in front of him, "Whoopsie, ears deceived me, thought you were in the back" Lexington looked down directly at her. Brown hair, brown eyes, looked pretty thin. She looked somewhat familiar, but then again Lexington had not met the entire student body yet, so he just threw up his right hand and gave the mystery challenger a thumbs up. "AYEEE!! Good on ya mystery challenger!" He shouted into the microphone. Finally, he turned to Macht and strolled over to him. "Cool, cool, cool. Dunno who that is, but it's an interesting way to start the school year. You get the first title fight in San Fran!" Lexington gave his School Captain a friendly smile, clearly unaware of the enmity between the SC and the challenger.

Vivi wins it.
Kevin actually made a note to turn back, wanting to put a face with who just brought up a damn good point---he wasn't a fan of getting his ass kicked for poor behavior or underperforming in class. Not many people would be. However, he did at least know some form of the old Proverb: he who spares his rod hates his child. Sometimes, discipline was just needed (and yes, he hated admitting it). Were they going back to the old way, where all that happened were suspensions and parent-teacher conferences? Can that even happen? Most of these kids ain't even from around here. At that point, Kevin's normal anxiety about the opposite gender kicked in and he would turn back around in his seat to find something else to look at, swallowing nothing but air.
The Headmaster was quick to address the question and gave an interesting answer---the faculty would basically try to calm down about it. Yeah, a'ight. There was a mild but apparent look of skepticism on Kevin's face as one eyebrow raised and his lips turned slightly to the right. He'd believe it when a teacher got socked in the jaw and didn't do anything more than try to peacefully defuse the problem. However, that all changed when good ol' Mr. Eckhardt added to what was already said. Wrongful use of corporal punishment would be corrected with force? "Oh, it's fuckin' lit!" He said this under his breath, though anybody nearby could easily hear him.
Kevin heard the sound of someone leaving the auditorium and that was when things really got lit. The girl who Kevin sat beside raised up from her chair, his line of sight following her as she stood. She addressed the Headmaster as blunt as anyone could, and she challenged the mammoth of a man that was the School Captain. Kevin's eyes looked ready to pop out of their sockets in response. Sure, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but...what!?

❝ | We never got that far This helps me to think all through the night Bright lights that won't kill me now or tell me how Just you and I your starless eyes remain
| ❞ |
Vivi nodded slowly and settled back into her seat. It was pretty good answer. Corporal punishment sucked, but she still acknowledged that it was kind of needed sometimes. If they dropped it all together some of the teens could go berserk—but since they just seemed to plan on lessening it and discouraging its use, perhaps the environment could get a little less violent? Only time would tell.
At this point, she was just taking things as they were coming. It was second nature for her to be cynical, so she didn’t completely trust anything she’d just heard but… well, Vivi really wanted things to be different. She hoped so badly things could take a turn for the better, part of her wanted to lay her doubtful nature to rest just for a day. But she couldn’t.
Her attention was soon drawn to something else. Zoe stood up and spoke. Calm and collected as ever, she always gave off the vibe that there was a lot more going on in her head than you might think. Vivi expected she had a question to ask, but instead… she challenged Macht for his title. Now that took some serious balls. To most people it probably sounded nuts too, seeing as she was a petite little lady.
But underestimating a long time five-five-two student and an ex pillar was never smart. Then again, underestimating Macht was pretty much a death wish. And if she somehow did win, how would the student body feel about having a former Apostle and the murderer of Knuckles as the school captain…?
Vivi crossed her legs and rested her chin on her palm. The Apostles might’ve been gone, but conflict never would be.

CRASHING IN AND BREAKING YOU TO BITS | wHAT YOU SEE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET. | 0000 words
| Ira begin to feel strangely disoriented as she stared at the crowd of people before her. Her vision became blurry, her breaths came out in short and shaky huffs, and her hands involuntarily wrapped around her knees. She curled up on her chair and tried to focus on the headmaster, but she couldn't help the sudden surge of wanting to slap him across the face.
A soft strange noise exited her mouth. Her cheeks flushed a dark crimson while she re-focused her sight on Markus. There was only a single word she could use to describe her current status--confusion.
Within seconds, the first pillar's head dropped gently on Kazuya's shoulder, as she muttered something seemingly incoherent. Her vision became hazier.
"You have to help me find Leon." She murmured into his ear, her facade of calmness completely betrayed by the harsh worry in her voice. "You hear me, third pillar?"
She hadn't have the chance to learn his name, but one thing was clear--she needed someone's help, and she refused to ask Macht. She hunched up and made herself tinier, if that was actually possible.
Someone was missing, she decided as she scanned the crowd. Her eyes smoldered. She could't find even half of the people she used to know in the crowd, and that fact threw her into a dark, dark place of puzzlement. Trying to pinpoint her discomfort, she slapped her fist against her open palm a few seconds later, while she completely ignored anything that might be going on.
Right. Protect the school. That was her job as a pillar, despite the fact that she was still extremely puzzled as to how she got the position.
Acting like she gave a rat ass about the school was easy.
"Think I can knock his teeth out and excuse it as a random muscle spasm?" She asked Kazuya cheekily. |
